Lea Snowdrop
Location: Makai Town, StreetsHad he really been out that long already? Was Lea's first thought as emerald eyes took in the sight of the street lamps simultaneously flickering on around him as if someone had thrown a switch. What was initially intended to be a quick trip down to the shop he usually frequented to stock up on essentials had resulted in him spending the rest of the afternoon engaged in a rather pleasant conversation with the shop owner who, bless his kind heart, had even seen fit to gift him with a few cinnamon rolls that he always thoroughly enjoyed. Something on the house for being a regular and a magical charm of sorts to ensure that he made it safely back to the academy, the fatherly middle-aged man had said with a wink when Lea politely mentioned that he had to get going.
News of the recent murders had reached the academy alright and almost everyone in all of Lea's classes were whispering the one word that immediately came to mind as to what they thought was the cause of these. Majin. Or more accurately, witch eaters. If the reports of the murder victims were anything to go by and were neither distorted nor fabricated the way the mass media tended to be at times, the descriptions would fit perfectly. Almost as if they had been taken out from a textbook.
Unlike what most people might be inclined to think, Lea had his own reasons for keeping to the shadows as he made his way down the street towards the academy with his feline ears voluntarily pressed flat against his own head. The young mononoke did not fear what might be lurking out there in the dark, believing that whatever was meant to happen would occur regardless of how one attempted to avoid or prevent it in the first place. Life was far too short to be worrying over things that were beyond one's control unlike...
The brown-haired boy stopped there and then just as his train of thought was interrupted by a soft mewing sound that seemed to be coming from a nearby alley. He calmly cast his gaze upon his surroundings, the darkness of the alley proving to be not too much of a challenge to his enhanced night vision as he smiled softly to himself once he had located the source. A scrawny calico kitten which was no more than a few months old. Recalling that he had bought himself some milk awhile ago, Lea set the brown paper bag on the ground and retrieved the carton from it, pausing for a brief moment as it finally dawned upon him that he had no receptacle with which to contain the milk for the kitten to drink from. Bummer.

He had an inkling of an idea as to what he could do with his limited magical knowledge and ability. Now to put it into motion... Glancing quickly over his shoulders to ensure that noone else on the street was paying attention to him, Lea stretched out both his hands and focused his concentration on the image of a saucer in his mind. There was first a very fine white mist that gathered within his palms, then the sensation of something forming and taking shape. When he was finally done, he couldn't help but stare incredulously and frown at the lop-sided saucer made entirely of ice that was now in his hands. He knew that creation spells were never his forte but this..?
Oh well... he supposed it would have to do...
Kalypso
Location: Makai Town, Streets
Kalypso had just finished doing some shopping. She had first went clothe shopping. She wan't sure if she wan gonna do anything for Hallows Eve but she wanted to be prepared just in case she did decide to do anything. She went in search of a outfit/custom to wear. Afterwards she went food shopping, she had to stock up on some items and thought since she was already out in town that she would just go ahead and n** it in the bud. She also went and stopped by the fish market and picked up some salmon to cook for dinner. She was really impressed with herself at her rapidly increasing cooking skills. She thought about just going back to the academy and putting her fish in the freezer for another day and just going to eat in the dining room for the day.
While walking back to the academy she kept thinking about the townspeople. Something was up and she had no idea what it was. They were acting weird, she just couldn't explain it. At first, as always she thought the townspeople were acting weird because of her. And she subconsciously touched her eyepatch. After reassuring herself that it had nothing to do with her she continued on her way. She did however heard the whispers in school about witch-eaters. She shuddred. She wasn't a fan of them and tried not come in contact with them.
Turning she heard a noise coming from a alley. Her first thought was to run as fast as she could but then she heard a mewling noise. She followed the noise to see a little baby kitten and a male mononoke witchling. The first thing that came out of her mouth was "Aww how cute." It was heard to tell who she was directing that to as she was looking at both the witchling and the kitten. She also that the witchling must have tried magic and tried to make a bowl for the cat. Remembering the fish she brought she took it out and set it down for next the bowl of milk for the kitten. She turned her attention to the mononoke. She was fancinated by them, she just wanted pet him. She was about to do just that until she remembered an incident awhile back when she did that to another mononoke and almost got her hand bitten off.

Lea had been so caught up with watching the kitten lapping up the milk eagerly from the saucer he had made that he totally did not notice the girl with the eyepatch until he heard her commenting on something being cute followed by her offering of fish as evidenced by said object being laid out on the ground next to the kitten which gave an obviously delighted and appreciative mew at the generous gift.
"He says thank you, you're very kind Miss..." The green-eyed mononoke purred softly as he glanced up at Kalypso, not once moving from his crouched position next to the kitten, a small smile curling his lips although the expression in his eyes was one of wariness while he took in the Makai Academy uniform that she was decked in. A student of the academy like himself. Not an uncommon sight in these parts, given that most students ventured to the town to procure whatever neccessities they were lacking in, although he really had to wonder what brought her to this alley in the first place. Certainly most girls would have been taught by their parents and peers to steer clear of dark alleys like this for the sake of their own safety.
"Doing some late night shopping..?" Lea inquired tentatively as he tilted his head towards the direction of the bags that he had observed Kalypso carrying. He didn't think that she was one of those Witch Eaters but that didn't mean that he quite trusted her yet. "It may be wise to head back to the academy soon now that night has fallen..."

The cat seemed to be enjoying itself and the feast that it had before it. Kalypso looked from the cat to the mononoke crouched on the ground beside her. "It was no problem at all. The little fellow looked hungry and I am more than happy to share."
She looked down at her bags after the mononoke commented on them. "Why yes I thought I do some shopping today. I went to a custom shop to get something for Hallows eve and then I went food shopping." She looked around the area suddenly realizing that it was getting dark and she was in a dark alley. She looked the mononoke over. He didn't look like a bad person who would hurt her but one can't be too sure.
"Your right about heading back to the school." She looked back at the little kitten. "Do you think it's ok to leave the little fellow here all by hisself?"
