The flighty, flittery, beautiful mare was in one of her favorite places; by the lake in a small patch of wildflowers as colorful as she. Her wings twitched now and then as she nibbled on her a few of the sweet nectar filled flowers and the grass. Berries would be delicious, she mused to herself. Alas, there hardly were any left now that Autumn had hit full blast. But the fruit trees were in full force. Pears, apples, pomegranates... Okay so maybe it wasn't a normal diet for a horse, but considering she was one of those with wings that could talk...it worked....right? RIGHT! Oh and she was temporarily oblivious to her surroundings cause she does sort of have a one track mind that is easily distracted.

(I don't have a cert yet.) Damien meandered slowly through the small outcropping of trees nearby the lake, pausing from time to time to lower his head to the ground. He was feeling the pangs of loneliness that occasionally overcame him, and found himself wandering yet again. The flirt in him could barely stand to be alone for a few hours much less the week or so it had been since he had seen anybody else. He broke through the trees and lowered his head to the water, his nose stopping mere inches from the water as he spotted the beautiful mare across the lake. He stared for a good minute before he seemed to come to his senses. Good lord, she was breathtaking. He turned and made his way around the edge of the lake in her direction, making no attempt to muffle his steps and approached the beauty. "Why hello, beautiful, anybody ever tell you it's dangerous to be in the middle of nowhere, alone?" the deep baritone of his voice seemed loud, though he had tried to make his voice pitch softer than normal.

Alas, her attention broke from the sweet, delicious, tender grass to this orange thing that was approaching her. Elegantly and confidently she lifted her head to gaze at this stallion. Already she liked him. Was it that blood splatter on his pelt, or those luscious looking fetlocks he sported? Either way, she was instantly hooked. ( Actually, it probably was the color. Orange was a very delicious color...since all the orange flowers were the tastiest she found. )
Avalon smirked and batted her eyelashes at his shameless flirt. My, and he sounded handsome too~ "Many, " she replied, sweetly, with a few twitches of her iridescent wings, " and every one insisted on keeping me company. Though none quite as... intriguing as yourself, stranger. "

Oh he liked her, he couldn't seem to keep his eyes from following the slight twitches of her beautiful wings. "Damien." he supplied. "To you, my sweet, I don't want to be a stranger." he stated boldly, his eyes fixing to her in a way that was probably not particularly polite. Was it just his imagination, or was she giving him the once-over too?

" Avalon. " she replied, relaxing and cocking a hind hoof on its tip. " There! We're no longer strangers~ " Avalon giggled, finding her own little statement funny. More likely than not, she would indeed forget his name, but she certainly wouldn't forget his fantastic color. Speaking of color...
"My, Damien, what a lovely orange coat you have there~ " Funny, she ignored the curling horns... how blah and possibly normal. Wait, horns weren't really normal for a horse to have. Hrmmm... The thought was quickly dismissed as she finally noticed he was staring at her wings. Staring as in rudely utterly fascinated by them. Avalon nervously twitched; an ear flick, her tail swished, and those wings fluttered for a moment before laying still against her back. Her ruby eyes gazed at this stallion, " Where, if I may be so bold, do you hail from? "

Damien blinked once, twice, three times and then shook himself out of his trance. "I'm sorry, I just have never seen one such as yourself, blessed with such beauty. I find it difficult to take my eyes off you, I do not intend to be rude." He apologized, his eyes meeting hers.
"Oh, my beautiful Avalon, I'm from here and there. I've grown up mostly on my own. My parents passed when I was but a colt. However, I spend most of my time in the woods, for that is where I feel safest." He grinned cheekily, "And where I may find privacy, should I need it." He winked flirtatiously at her. "And where, may I ask, are you from?"

And apology so sweet as that was very flattering to her ego. Avalon found herself grinning. "Flattery will get you everywhere~ " He had quite the silver tongue. This would be enjoyable.
" That's just simply awful, my darling Damien. To grow up alone, on the land, without someone to protect you from the cruel beings that roam the lands... I couldn't imagine that even if I tried. " His grin and wink, as well as the subtle hint was obviously received. Avalon chose to ignore that in lew of the question he asked. She giggled, " As lovely as the forest is, I find it is a little crowded for my taste. Who knows what could be watching from the shadows~ I prefer a place more secluded. "
Those wings of her unfurled and she fluttered, hovering off the ground for a few moments before settling back to earth, taking a step forward towards the charming orange male. " I am from a rather lush patch of floating rock in the mountains. The grass is far sweeter here than up there. I would take you there, but... its a little ways away...as in its floating in the sky. " Avalon looked truly devastated by this fact, and she was sort of.. Finally an interesting one and she couldn't show off her glen! The land was so cruel...and so she pouted.

Damien shrugged slightly, refusing to let the devastation of those first few months poison this moment. "No, my beauty, living alone, learning to fend for myself, it made me strong, made me learn to take care of myself, and the family I will, hopefully, one day have." He said quietly, seriously, perhaps a little too seriously. "And as for what's lurking in the shadows," He said after a long pause, the flirtatious sparkle coming back into his eyes. "That's usually me, and you, my sweet, have nothing to fear from me."
As the look of sadness overcame her features, he felt his heart slide into his stomach. "Oh, lovely Avalon, do not be sad, there is nothing in this world that could outshine your beauty." he locked his eyes with hers, hoping that she understood that he meant this one, that it wasn't just his flirtatious nature that brought this compliment to his lips.
