▸ You are to create a character bio for this character. You don't need to write a novel, but being inventive and making a good character won't hurt your chances of winning. ▸ The 28th of October is the last day to get your entry in. You may also write for any other characters that are up, but you cannot win both, so please keep that in mind. ▸ On the 29th of October, the staff will choose the entries they like the most, and put them in a pile, to draw from randomly. Entry for: Girl Character Name: Valdis (Al for short) Player Name: Nyxtsuki Moon Race: Majin (unknown to her) Aspirations: To become a powerful reaper and wielder of a potent scythe. Short Biography/background:
Valdis is a sort of interesting girl. Growing up she always lived to idolize her brother, and in doing so, idolize herself. She is not modest about her looks, taking great pride in her deathly pale skintone, the opalescent gray eyes and her fresh dirt smudges, and in doing so, love her brother as much as she loves herself(Because he is the male version of herself as far as looks...).
With that, her social skills are indeed very poor. Beyond her narcissistic attitude, she can be well possessive. Being teased/Ignored (they we're all jelly of her perfection.) when she was younger(due to her already odd looks), she started to develop standards to which people would have to meet to be friends with her. Her brother of course is the epitome of this standards and to her, is never wrong in anything he does or says. Once though, you meet these standards, she becomes easily possessive and easily jealous. Hanging out with your other friends? She'll be there, watching like a creeper and thinking of a way to shove herself in between. Have a lover? She's the only love you need! You should be honored that she loves you so dearly! She demands your attention all the time.
On top of that, she has the oddest fascinations. Her favorite place to visit? The graveyards. Her favorite food to eat? Skull flavored Ice cream(WTF?). Her favorite item in the whole world? Bones! Some parts off her odd fascinations are normal, like...who doesn't love ice cream(WTF IS SKULL FLAVORED??!?!?). When she wants to hang out, she drags you to the graveyards where she will talk....all about morbid stuff.

Entry for: Boy Character Name: Riven Cross. Player Name: kuromeez. Race: Majin (he knows this, and he can guess what his sister is). Aspirations: He is uncertain of his future; there is no real aspirations for him, at least none that he has in mind at the current moment. Short Biography/background:
A rival for the estimable Draco Malfoy, Riven is an arrogant, overly confident young man with a quick wit and a sharp tongue. Always ready with a fast reply, he prides himself on being able to answer every question with an answer - except his answers aren't necessarily always right (he doesn't know that), and sometimes he sounds completely ridiculous when he says them (he doesn't know that either).
However, despite his brash, swaggering attitude, there is a part of Riven that knows quite well he isn't Mr. All That (however, he's still quite ignorant of his lack of appropriate and correct answers). He never likes to admit this, of course; admitting this implies that that there's something wrong with him, and the last thing Riven Cross wants to admit is that there's something wrong with him.
Which makes it incredibly difficult for him to accept the fact that he's a Majin. The deepest, darkest secret of Riven Cross is his natural heritage. Angry, upset, and hating himself for what he is, he is the type of person who would go to the grave before admitting that he's a Majin. A fiercely determined individual, once he decides something, it is very difficult for him to change his mindset. But he knows how to be cheerful and laid back - with people he knows and likes, that is, and half of it is him attempting to be impressive (which doesn't work, most of the time).

Entry for: Girl Character Name: Yvette Goodall Player Name: baby_gwing Race: Human Aspirations: To join the reapers and rid the world of all evil witch eaters (since they give majins and witch eaters a bad name) Short Biography/background: (Passionate, dedicated, courageous, unforgiving, always blaming others, illeism; background is based on the assumption that her twin brother was a majin)
Born with a frail body, Yvette often had to skip classes due to her falling ill which eventually led to her being retained a year on a couple of occasions due to her inability to make the grade despite all her best efforts. This trend concerned her parents greatly and they eventually decided to pull both her brother as well as her out of the mainstream education system in favour of home schooling instead, not wanting her to worry about falling behind her sibling and friends due to her physical condition. Due to her severe lack of opportunities to interact with her peers, Yvette finds it difficult to judge and improvise interactions with other people in an acceptable manner. She gets nervous easily when it comes to socializing and can often times be seen referring to herself in the third person (illeism) instead of the first person that everyone else normally does. She is not incapable of speaking 'normally' however, but it is only with certain select groups of people such as those much older than herself and her brother whom she is more comfortable with.
As the years passed, Yvette had grown to become both reliant and attached to her twin brother whom she regarded as a very dear family member and her best friend. Despite his subsequent confession to her that he was actually a majin when they were older, Yvette still loved him nevertheless, accepting him unconditionally for the being that he was. She willingly took it upon herself to be his protector and kept him satiated with her own magic all the while. Whatever decision she made, it was never without discussing with him prior or taking into account how it might affect him in one way or another. She is fiercely loyal to her brother alone and has plans to join the reapers or Black Hearts in the future just so that she could be privy to their operations and thereby continue to keep him safely out of their sights.

Entry for: le Girl. Character Name: Nadehiera (Nade) Avery Lakin Player Name: p a r a doxical labyrinth Race: Majin (somewhat aware) Aspirations: Nade is driven to become more powerful at any cost. She is likely to become a Witch Eater as she’s admires their “strength” to consume another witch’s heart and still want more.
Short Biography/background: From birth Nade has felt a sense of competition with her older brother, as he was born just moments before she was. Although, much of this sense of “competition” is more of an internal conflict with her own insecurities and doubts about her true abilities than it is about him. She feels at ease in solitude and can be perceived as a shy, and strange to those who first meet her.
Growing up Nade has had little to no issues with other people, as she generally keeps to herself. For her friends are to be up most trusted individuals. People, she could put her life in their hands and expect them to not crush it willingly. Therefore as had relatively few. She trusts her brother more than anything despite her jealousy of him. Her other quirks include nearly daily, and sometimes multiple, visits to the graveyard where beloved pets or the alike are buried. Or to visit the graveyard simply to walk around because she finds it to be a beautifully peaceful place.

Entry for: Boy
Character Name: Gauvain
Player Name: Orpheus Solon
Race: Human
Aspirations: To become powerful enough that he can keep his sister safe... though his definition of safe is a little different that of normal people since it also includes chasing off potential suitors. As to which path he takes when it comes to this important task he is undecided, wanting to spend a bit of time studying up and meeting people from the Ars Lilum and Reaper branches to better help him decide which is better for him.
Short Biography/background: A more overly annoying, overly protective, and over bearing 'older' brother there has never been... Gauvain has decided that since he and his sister were together since before they were born that it has fallen upon his shoulders to keep her safe, to beat up those that are mean to her, and chase off anyone that he sees as getting too close to her. Their mother has lost track of how many times Gauvain has come home with bruises from his run ins with people that he didn't want to be near his sister and it would seem as though size means nothing to him as well. He is as willing to jump into a fight with someone twice his size as he is someone his own size, anything for his sister. If you ask him it's just a part of the 'big brother' code and that everyone should be as willing to keep their sibling safe.
He will staunchly cling to the fact that, since he was born first even if by only a short amonnt of time, that he is in fact her big brother, even if their birthday is the same day. He has never and will never willingly 'share' her though he is worse about it when it comes to other boys, something that he sees as competition. Other girls as friends is alright so long as they don't keep her away forever. The only time he really seems to relax his guard is when their father is around since it's his job to protect the whole family, his sister included.
From what he has heard about the academy, and the fact that the two of them are going to likely end up with different class loads, Gauvain finds himself a bit worried. How will he go about keeping her safe if he can't be a constant at her side? Not that their schooling won't stop him from trying of course. Their parents only hope that when they go to the school and are forced to be separate that he will be able to start to focus on things other then the protector role that he donned when he was little. Some time apart is what they see as something that will be good for him as apart from his sister Gauvain actually seems like a pretty good guy. He is talkative and helpful, one still trying to figure out his path in life, and he even seems at times to be a bit of a flirt. It's just when you add in his sister that is when things get 'interesting'...

Entry for: Girl Character Name: Braith Tanwen [last name to-be-determined] Player Name: anemosagkelos Race: Human Aspirations: To always be close to her twin; she has a hard time determining her own wants from his and would likely follow him on whatever path he chose. Short Biography/background: Braith was born not long after her twin brother -- eleven minutes and fifty-nine seconds to be exact (anyone else would say close enough to twelve minutes). A pale and tiny thing she may have been mistaken for dead if she hadn't been squalling as newborns did or followed an equally pale boy. Anyone else may hear that and frown or stare with wide-eyed horror, she has a soft fond smile as if the whole experience might have been a compliment. That wasn't to say that she was a child of the macabre. Although she did quite enjoy tales of ghosts and legends of beasts; she even thought cemeteries to be beautiful. If anything Braith had an innate sense to appreciate the underappreciated.
Nicknamed Eirlys for her pale skin, Braith was on the quiet side. She often had her nose buried in a book whether she could read the words herself or not. She wasn't one to be loud or make a mess or argue. At times it seemed as though she was either vastly mature beyond her years or lacked any energy at all. Until she went outisde. Despite all appearance -- pale skin that might dictate she hates sunlight or is a child plagued by fraility and sickness -- she is at heart a child of nature. She is happiest with her fingers buried in dirt or her feet dangling above the ground as she sits in a tree. Something of a tomboy, she was always tackling and wrestling and running; never a worse damsel in distress existed.
There is only one thing she loves more than being outside in nature and that is her twin. To her, there is no competition between them. He is her best friend and she'd be at a loss without him. No one could ever be a better friend than her brother and while she might be pleasant enough, socially-aware enough, to make friends they'd never live up to her brother. Eventually there would come a day where she'd have to choose and one would be hard pressed to explain there was any other option besides her brother.
Braith does have a temper though it takes a heck of a lot to set it off. The one quick path to making her angry is to insult her brother in any manner. She never thinks in these instances and it's hard to tell whether it'll be magic or fist or a harsh yelling at that she'll be throwing. More often than not, she feels proud to have stood up and awful about acting like a tantrum throwing child. At least she has her brother and that really is more important.

Entry for: Girlie
Character Name: Henrietta
Player Name: Madness_insanity
Race: Human
Aspirations: Henrietta really just wants to prove herself to her parents. She wants to show them just how strong and powerful she can become.
Short Biography/background: Henrietta’s birth was an odd one. Her parents needed an heir for the estate and her mother was seemingly unable to give one and so they consulted a powerful witch. She gave the Lord and Lady a potion, made from the ground bones of a magical beast and told the couple to drink this potion before they once again tried to conceive a child. The lady birthed two children, both eerily light skinned with equally fine white hair; they didn’t look anything like their parents but they were loved all the same.
Henrietta admired her brother while she was taught to be a lady, though she had much more freedom then her brother, who had the future of the estate resting on his shoulders. There was no doubt that her brother was the favorite, and Henrietta resented her parents for it. She practiced her magic in secrete and was the first to apply to the academy. She was close to her brother though, and never blamed him for their parents favoritism, and so he followed in suite and also applied. Henrietta is proud, arrogant and a very social creature. Whenever she could she got away to attend parties or shop around. She often not only drags her brother from his studies but also got him in trouble too. Henrietta always finds a way to get what she wants, or someone will pay dearly for it.

Entry for: Girl. Character Name: Niamh Dubh, last name undetermined. (Sounds like nee-uv dove) Player Name: Face Your Demons Race: Majin Aspirations: To use ancient rites to channel the power of spirits, and bind them to her living flesh, so that she does not need to consume the heart of a witch to be powerful. To understand what it means to be a twin, to understand her brother. Short Biography/background: Niamh Dubh, or Niamh, can be fascinated by seers, the dead and the rituals meant to lay the dead to rest. Although she cannot find a ritual which will do exactly what she wants, she is trying to work with the bones of the dead to both be a soothsayer in the immediate present and a powerful medium in the future. She does not want to predict the future, per se; what she wants is to sew spirits to her living skin, bind them into her body, so that she can use their powers and wisdom and become a potent Ars Lilium or even a Reaper, should that path prove more enticing.
Niamh makes extremely detailed puppets out of bird bones and other such thin and small bones in her spare time. She loves sweets and candies, but eats them only in moderation. It can be hard to get a straight answer out of her, but for the most part, Niamh does have the ability to communicate clearly; talking around questions is just a game to her. If you bribe her with candy, she might be persuaded to be less creepy, or answer concisely. Otherwise, her brother is the only one who gets to see her "casual" side. She can come across as rather intense, and has been known to dig up things that should have remained buried. Her family, she maintains, has a history as gravekeepers. Is this true, or one of Niamh's "stories"? In her future, Niamh may actually use her powers to become a sort of "reverse necromancer," sending the unwilling resurrected back to death and punishing necromancers who use their powers unwisely.

Entry for: Girl Character Name: Gwyneth Player Name: Purely Anonymoose Race: Majin Aspirations: Uncertain; to find something that's not utterly boring in her meager life. Short Biography/background: Gwyn is usually on the quiet side, though her head is full of opinions. She believes in the old saying 'if you don't have something nice to say; don't say it at all.' But that doesn't have to stop her from thinking it. She has a very cynical opinion of the general public and finds socializing a bit boring. To her, people are stupid; but sometimes an individual is worth acknowledging. Because she finds life boring, although not meaningless, she's unsure of where it will lead. She knows she's a majin and there are certain paths she can take; but what path she has yet to decide. Perhaps someone or something will entice her.
As for her parents, she doesn't talk about them much. She feels disconnected from both of them, which could be partially why she has trouble trusting people. But her brother is her second half. She feels more complete when he is around; even smiles for him. (Just don't tell her to smile more often or she'll get really cranky.)

Entry for: Boy
Character Name: Sigmund (last name to be decided in conjunction with whomever wins the girl.)
Player Name: Dakka Domi Race: Human
Aspirations: To escape death, be it through magical preservation he casts upon himself, unholy compacts with less-than-savory forces, or other rites he discovers on his own; To otherwise come to cope with his mortality; To better understand his sister for what she is.
Short Biography/background: Sigmund seldom speaks of his birth, or his parents, or really anything of his childhood. His beginning was something of an unholy affair, or perhaps not so evil at all, but certainly strange. Parents he never knew abandoned him close to his birth, believing him to be a changeling majin child to replace their true son. How exactly he lived so long is something of a mystery, even to him, for his earliest memories are shrouded in mist. (You'll need to forgive me, here, but I'm trying to avoid setting anything in stone to make it easier to plot with sister dearest.)
Whatever the nature of his raising, it instilled in him a deep survival instinct, and an intrinsic fear of death. His deathly pallor and almost gaunt build belie a deep intellect, an incredible thirst for new knowledge, and a burning attachment to his life. He endlessly seeks a way to circumvent his eventual demise, and most of his life is spent chasing after loose ends and folk legends, whispers of miracles and fountains of youth, anything to preserve his existence, even for a little while longer.
He doesn't know his sister. Not yet, at least. In his core, he feels her presence like a far-off heartbeat that rolls against his own, a bond that he has yet to make, a love he has yet to kindle. He's not quite sure what she is yet, but he hopes to someday find a means to grab hold of that distant murmur that binds the two and follow it to its source. If he ever finds a gap in his more important studies, that is.

Entry for: Girl. Character Name: Colette (last name tbd) Player Name: Evelastina Race: Majin Aspirations: To see, by whatever means necessary (ars lilium ((study)) or witch eater ((power))) Short Biography/background: (Blind, Dependent, Brother Complex, Omniphobe, somber, palm reader)
Darkness. From the very beginning, Colette was blind. There was no difference when her eyes opened or when they closed. Only utter darkness. But even alone in the blackness, she had her twin brother. And his voice. A siren song that guided her, soothed her fears of what she cannot see, and told her stories of the beautiful sights the world had to offer.
Sights she could never behold.
Colette felt this was punishment, as she was a majin. As if her constant hunger wasn't torture enough. But instead she lives both in fear of succumbing to her need for witch hearts and being lost in her sightless world.
She's at her brother's side almost constantly, having trouble trusting anyone else to guide her. She also tends to sabotage any chances of him making other friends, in fear that he will abandon her if he does.
For fun, Colette does bone-tossing fortunes, using touch to read the patterns. She's also prone to oracle-like visions, but instead of sight, she hears a future scene. (clairaudience?) Both forms of psychic powers are incredibly vague at her stage.

Entry for: Girl Character Name: Marlis (last name to be determined) Player Name: Lilbabe808 Race: Human Aspirations: Marlis wants to become a reaper to avenge her mother's death and to stay by her brother's side. Short Biography/background: Marlis was born to a human mother and a majin father. Her brother doesn't know this because he wasn't there to see what their father did. She has been protecting him from the truth. It was sometime at night, her brother had gone to sleep. Marlis wasn't feeling particularly tired and had gotten up to get a cup of milk. It was then that she came across the horrible scene of her father consuming her mother's witch heart. It seemed that he had been lying to them all, trying to suppress his nature. Upon seeing Marlis, their father fled. They had been only five at the time.
It was after that that Marlis decided to hide the truth from her brother. She woke him up and told him that they had to leave the house with the lie that mother had told them they must leave at once. She made sure to put enough fear into her voice to make him feel the need to leave. After that, they lived off of charity and their own cunning. It was a harsh life but better than staying in the house where their mother had been murdered.
Marlis has slight telepathic abilities and sometimes communicates with her brother that way. She hopes to strengthen her telepathic ability as she doesn't like physically speaking. Her desire to find her father and slay him will always stay with her. She will never give up finding him.
