RP Rules:
o1. No God-modding or glory-hogging, all characters are equal
o2. No controlling someone else's Pokemon unless you have their permission.

[Swarm Basics]
What's a roleplay event with some pokemon capture? Well...that is what is going to be explained in this post!
At random times, pokemon will pop out in the RP and FireFoxNinetails will indicate whether you catch it or not by saying "OH HEY GUYS U CAN THROW POKEBALLS GOGOGOGO!" or something like that. You type a small RP response of your character throwing a pokeball and post this:
POKEBALL GO!!
THE CAPTURE ATTEMPT WILL NOT COUNT IF THE PICTURE OF THE POKEBALL IS NOT INCLUDED!
A raffle list will be made with everyone who posted a pokeball getting one ticket. Afterwards, a winner will be randomized. Whoever wins should post cert info in the certing thread.
Each participant is only allowed ONE pokeball for this event. However, if you fail to catch a pokemon, your pokeball will not break after one try. You will beable to re-use it until the end of the event. HOWEVER.....
If you catch a pokemon, that is the only one you may catch during the whole event! (It's to give the others a better chance for a pokemon, so no whining.) I ask though, that you remain with the roleplay until the end, please. Also, there is an exception. One pokemon near the end of the event will be open to everyone regardless of if you have caught a pokemon already or not. So in the best instance you can come out of the event with 2 pokemon.
[Berries]
So, some of you may have been lucky enough to acquire some berries before this event. If you managed to grab a special LEICHI berry, you can increase your chances of winning a swarm pokemon!
Each LEICHI berry counts for one extra raffle ticket for the swarm rolling. When you want to use your berry, just add this image onto your pokeball post:

How to Live Through Your First Extrasensory RP Event
To be very honest, this RP event is going to be chaotic during the mandatory RP days of Sunday and Friday (Monday-Thursday will be a bit more tame). There is NO posting order, so lots of actions will collide and some will be ignored. You'll just have to accept and adapt.
These are tips on how to manage with the crazy speeds the thread progresses through during metaplot times
oNEVER stop typing/focusing if possible. It can and will put you behind/confused.
oDO NOT BACKREAD. It is a waste of time. Maybe make one out of character question asking what's happening and then jump in once you get an answer. Or jump in and act as the confused trainer that just woke up from a nap, you'll piece together events eventually. You could even ask in an out of character note something like this: ((Hey guys, what just happened since the event since the event started/so and so happened?))
oDO NOT EVEN TRY TO ATTEMPT POST ORDER. It will fail you and leave you far behind during metaplot times. EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF. If you really do want to have RPing partners during those times, I suggest you guys have each other on some form of messenger.
oNEVER WASTE A POST WITH ONLY OOC TALK. You will regret it and be bothered while trying to submit your next post D:
oDO NOT MAKE YOUR POST SUPER LONG. For the sake of keeping up and for the sake of people who may be RPing with you. Long posts take long to write and long to read which slows down everything
oBe prepared for some of your actions to be ignored. Some people don't have time to read every single post, so they might miss yours. Just try to improvise or pretend it didn't happen if possible or nag the person through messenger/OC talk.
oDon't try to talk to everyone. Your character probably can't handle it. I suggest probably sticking to your group or RP friends
oThe storyline update post is the best place to find what's going on. It will be updated constantly throught the event. DISCLAIMER: FFN is only human and may or may not be able to update it in a timely manner while handling RP stuf going on.
oIf you're trying to talk to someone, I suggest you go "HEY *INSERT USERNAME HERE*, LOOK AT THIS POST, I'M ATTEMPTING TO TALK TO YOU 8D " in big/bold OoC font in your post. Maybe quote them too.
Also, please remember that this RP thread is open before and after metaplot hours. We encourage you to RP even if you missed the metaplot for that day because dedicated RPers are rewarded! Grab a friend and RP in the general area or go on your own side adventure! Chat with other characters; let your character get some exposure to the world of Zatao.
When you are alone and searching for RP during the event, maybe post in the main thread in size 24 font going "HEY DOES ANYONE WANT TO RP WITH ME IN THE EVENT?" Size 24 font is awesome k? We also have a chat room for this event here!

Q: Oh no! I forgot to sign up! Can I still join?!!!
A: If you had a really really good reason (idk, you were hospitalized for 3 weeks or something) then maybe ask through a PM to the mule but I will most definitely not let people enter past day 2 of the event
Q: Where are the pokemon?
A: Pokemon will usually be given out during metaplot times in swarms or through RP prompts. On Monday-Thursday, they will appear through special means which you will find out about later!
Q: When will my pokemon be certed?
A: Within about a week of the end of the event. We can't cert during the event, managing the event is busy enough so please be patient!
Q: What are berries and how do you get them?
A: Berries were given out during the hiring event. You may still be able to obtain some during the RP. Different berries have different features (Leichi = extra swarm ticket; Razz/Kelpsy = heals your pokemon)
Q: Can I give away my swarm pokemon?
A: Yes, but there are special conditions. The person you give it to must be in the event and must not have won a pokemon earlier. Also, if you give them a pokemon, both you AND the person you give it too will have your name crossed out on the list meaning both of you cannot catch anymore pokemon throughout the event.
Q: Is there any posting order?
A: Nope! With 50+ people, we'd never finish if we had one D:
Q: So and so is really bothering me...what should I do?
A: PM FireFoxNinetails about the situation and we'll see what we can do about it.
Q: What time does the official RP start?
A: Look at the first post of this thread. You may also RP anytime before/after the main times for the event. On Monday-Thursday, you can RP at any time really. The times listed on the first post are only metaplot times, you are encouraged to RP outside of those times as well if you can find someone willing to RP with you
Q: When do I get my rental pokemon in the roleplay?
A: At the end of the metaplot hours on Sunday, you will be given in in-character reason how you meet your rental pokemon. Until then, you don't have the rental pokemon.
Q: How far am I allowed to go with making up the personality of my rental?
A: You can make it up completely! Gender, history, etc. It's basically your pokemon (temporarily)

Story Thus Far... (From newest -> oldest)
Everyone explored rooms. They found everything from pokemon to mysterious rocks. Then, someone finally found a door that looked like it could lead to the stairs - it had a "STAIRS" sign next to it after all.
When all 10 rocks were placed in the door, it finally opens to reveal a spiral staircase. Might as well start climbing...
Pandashroom Pogeys She looked to the trainers running towards the pokemon. "They've been searching for you and are merely tired. You've escaped, I congratulate you humans. But your journey is not over yet. No one may escape Jirachi's mansion and this fog on Zatao is not yet lifted. You are not in the dream world, so you may not simply wish it away. However...The wishmaker is at the top floor."
And with that hint, the girl once again disappeared.
Congrats, you have made it to the second part of the RP event. Your pokemon will wake up shortly. The main basement room is quite spacious and can serve as your lounge area. Please report to the RP event subforum and read the main threads there for more information! You are now going to explore Jirachi's mansion.Feel free to post any questions ovo

To: That damn Pokeball - Anyone.
Cetus staggered towards the Pokeball, making it out in the darkness, and pressed the little ball. The little critter jumped and readied its fangs, not too kosher being released either. It remained nothing more than a lone star in that vast darkness.
"Diphda." she said and the Joltik raised its fangs higher as if saying, "I'mma scary Pokemon, yes I am!"
"Guess it is our only source of light." she sighed. "Guess we'll follow him?"
The group notices a door in the side of the room and thankfully, it is open.
You approach a torch-lit (thank god) room with a ladder leading up. Around you, you find some wild zubat and rattata that seem as lost and confuse as you are. Some of them flee from the light and humans but others stay and look at them curiously. It seems that they've been stuck here for a while and any companionship - even human companionship - was a welcome change. (This is where your rental pokemon come from - befriend the wild rattata/zubat, they will tag along with you)
And could that be...it was! You spot some of your own domesticated pokemon in one corner of the room, sleeping. Perhaps they had tried to reach out to you in their dreams. Or someone just hit them with a hypnosis attack, who knows.
You see that mysterious girl again in front of your pokemon. "Welcome back." She said with a small smile. Do you dare approach her?
JOLTIK SWARM
Pandashroom Pogeys You all realize you are back in one piece. Some of you may notice there are slight blanks in your memory - hopefully nothing important. Afterall, jumping from a disappearing dream world to reality last second may have caused some things to be...left behind.
Still, it was pitch dark. Except that light in the corner. Oh wait, a light in the corner?! You wonder what it is...maybe you should approach it. Be careful not to trip on anything though!
Pandashroom Pogeys The loud sounds of winds whipping around you seem to calm as you hear a chorus of "I wish..." around you. Things seem to quiet. The world fades to white. If you looked hard enough before everything disappeared, you may have noticed that another tag on Jirachi's head had blacked out
Then, you wake up.
You're in the dark. You're not quite sure where you are. It's /dark/ afterall. But you know you're safe at least. There were no disappearing rainbows and giant twisters of doom...that you could see. You vaguely hope you are in reality and not in Jirachi's belly. Perhaps check if anyone is around you? Pandashroom Pogeys The twister is too strong and everyone seems to be lifted in the air and dragged in slowly despite their effort at resistance. Around you, you can see even more glimpses of memories. However, in the cloud, you are connected closest to Jirachi and you manage to glimpse at one of its memories. Jirachi PoV Flashback Everything is dark, but you feel safe surrounded by the darkness of the manor you have resided in for several centuries. It all changes when out of the blue, someone plucks you and whisks you away from the comfort of your resting place. All sorts of odd contraptions try to poke you awake from your half asleep state and you aren't very pleased about it. It's too early to wake up. There is a lapse in time when they stop bothering you completely. You thought you could finally sleep again...until you realize you no longer feel the natural waves of Unova's environment. It's changed into something different. Something foreign. It doesn't feel right. Still, you are too tired to wake up so you try your best to ignore it. Until a child's voice reaches out to you from your slumber. "You seem lonely..." Then you realize: yes. You were lonely. You could no longer feel the comforting auras of your friends that visited you occasionally in your long slumber. You were no longer in the quiet darkness of your domain. You finally decide to see what is going on - enough is enough. Transforming back from your rock form and normal form left you a bit stiff, yet feeling a lot more free than you were the past 900 years. You try to open your eyes but glaring bright lights blind your maladjusted eyes. You hear gasps around you. "It's a Jirachi!" "Whoa, never seen one of those before! Did it really come from that rock?" "Quick, catch it!" A ball strikes your head and before you know it, you are sucked into a dark but even more uncomfortable and unfamiliar place. You don't like it at all and struggle to escape - which you do. When you finally meet those accursed bright lights again, you unleash a powerful psychic attack to hopefully keep those attackers at bay. There are several satisfying thuds and you float away from the light to get a better view of your surroundings. There are unfamiliar faces...humans...that are gawking at you. You see in their hands those spherical devices that had tried to constrain you before. You decide you didn't like the pokeballs. You especially did not like how those humans were looking at you with somewhat crazed looks. All you want is to be back at your homeland. To return to your manor where humans never dared step foot upon during your time awake. You made a wish: "I want my home!" You release all your stress, anger, and confusion in that one wish. The belly on your eye snaps open in response and you start to wonder if that's supposed to happen. Suddenly, you feel very tired like all your energy is being drained. At the same time, you feel a new source of energy - an energy much like your own: The accumulated energy from the dreams of humans and pokemon. You reach for this source of strength. You need this energy - for the sake of your own dream. A mist begins to form around you and soon spreads throughout the building and eventually throughout Zatao. It is a symbol of your influence - a mist generated from your own dreams fueled by your newfound power. For the first time in a long while, you feel like you are in control again. Everything that was not part of your home - those pesky humans, those too-bright lights - simply disappears into the mist and never reappears. Just as you wished. They are erased from existence because "humans" are not a part of your definition of "home." Then, images of your best friends - the native pokemon around your manor - come to life from the fossils around you. They first began as vague forms made from your mist of dreams and began to solidify to become as life like as any other pokemon in the region. Finally, you will your surroundings to change back to how they have always been. Who needed a port city when you could have a giant manor instead?" That may or may not have explained some stuff. You aren't quite dead yet. "You are closest to the wishmaker, the granter of dreams. Wish yourself back into existence. It may not be my master's wish for you to survive, but your if your will is strong enough - your wish must be granted. Before it is too late, wish"
Pandashroom Pogeys The island is within sight - the wind is REALLY strong now and you may want to hold onto another person. It's getting harder and harder to walk forward, but you have to make it to the next island.
The clouds there are even a darker grey and if you looked deeply into them, you might manage to catch glimpses of even more memories. It comes into your attention that the source of all this crazy wind is a giant twister of clouds at the middle of the island. At the bottom of the twister is Jirachi, belly-eye open and one of its tags mysteriously different from the rest. The eye seemed to be absorbing the dark clouds of memories endlessly.
The vortex seems to grow stronger and stronger as you approach the island. Then you realize it's not a problem of making it off the rainbow bridge, it's also a problem of not getting dragged into the storm of clouds that are disappearing into Jirachi's eye.
Pandashroom Pogeys Pandashroom Pogeys As you walk closer to the island, you notice the clouds turning grey and the once non-existent wind picking up. Will you continue? ...oh wait looks like you have no choice. Someone looks back and notices - the rainbow is disappearing. Well that's not good. RUN! (U GUYS ASKED FOR MORE EXCITEMENT RIGHT HURHURR)
Pandashroom Pogeys The walls of the cottage seem to be the next to go and the mysterious force eating away at the dream world approached closer and closer to the humans. But their wish was heard.
A rainbow appeared in front of the group, stretching on to a far away distance where you could vaguely see the shape of a second cloud island. Well, this is your only chance. You might as well take it. Although you wonder if rainbows really can support your weight...but nothing really made sense in the dream world so far so you hope you can defy logic once again.

Firmly telling herself to stay calm, Shina stood and moved to the center of the room. Outloud, she said in a firm, clear voice. "I wish to be somewhere safe. I wish to be somewhere safe."
The mysterious girl smiled. It seems as if one of the humans have figured out one of the secrets to the dream world.
"If you wish hard enough for it, it will become true. But modest wishes tend to be the best and survival should be your focus." She stated, fading back out into the background as if she was never there. "Find the wishmaker," you hear a voice whisper to you, although it had no apparent source.
Pandashroom Pogeys "As you stay here, the dream world saps your dreams and memories. The dreams have already given my master the power to set the wish into motion. I cannot answer these questions. Only the wishmaker can...if you can find my master."
The whole front door to the cottage started to disappear. Perhaps it would be safer to move to the center of the room?
Pandashroom Pogeys Adona Benedicta "What wish would do this?" He asked, furrowing his brow in confusion.
The girl's attention seems to have finally shifted away from that picture. "A wish to go home. A wish to eliminate everything that is not home. But wishes are not free, and to grant this wish, the wishmaker must borrow from the power of dreams. From the dreams of all the humans and pokemon in Zatao that have accumulated here - the dream world."
She opened the door, staring out. "It's a big wish." She stated without turning around. "So big it may take this whole world - with you part of it."
Walking outside, the humans got a view of what was outside. The once large island had been reduced into a small cloud around the cottage. Below was an abyss of dark blue. Well that didn't look good. Slowly, the clouds closer to the house were were disappearing.
Perhaps the girl had more answers?
Pandashroom Pogeys
When everyone has entered the cottage (IF YOU HAVE NOT, CONGRATS YOU ARE THERE NOW, YOU JUST DECIDED BEING ALONE ON A FOREIGN ISLAND IS PROBABLY BAD AND FOLLOWED THE GROUP WHEN YOU WOKE UP), the door closes and out of nowhere, the mysterious girl appears infront of the door. Nope, not freaky at all. "Humans, you are not meant to ener the dream world - yet here you are." She look around at the variety of characters that all sported various looks of confusion.
"Banished from the real world, I guess this is the only place left for your consciousness. However, the longer you stay here, the more your own dreams and memories will fade into this world." As she spoke, the humans began to notice that the once blank picture frames in the house came to life with scenes. Most scenes they didn't recognize, but some they most certainly did. There were scenes of from their own memories. They recognized themselves but...couldn't quite remember these memories. Were they really disappearing?
The girl approached one of the picture frames sporting a picture of a Jirachi napping with a group of pokemon. "The wishmaker has wished a pitiful wish...and this world is the price to grant that wish." So caught up in staring at that picture with a bit of longing, the girl seems to ignore the humans for a moment. The humans may or may not be quite busy themselves panicking over the pictures.
Pandashroom Pogeys The door to the cottage mysteriously opens and at the doorway stands a girl wrapped in a dark cloak with a matching hood covering her her eyes and hair. Only those around the cottage manage to catch a glimpse of her because she disappears back into the cottage a few seconds after you first spot her. The door is still open though so you might as well enter. There's nowhere else to go. (No really, everyone get in here)
Inside the cottage there are several blank picture frames coating almost every surface of the wall, a neatly made bed, a dining table, and some couches. You also see something like a kitchen but with no modern appliances. There are no other rooms, just one super spacious living room with a candle perched on every flat surface to provide illumination. It was quite spooky, but you may want to try to look around for that girl...
Include orange in your post if you are in the mansion.
RP Plot
Katarina was a constantly growing port city that was the hub of civilization in the Zatao region. The newest addition to this city's list of attractions was a museum featuring rare fossils and rocks.
Many gathered to browse through the ancient fossils of their pokemon's ancestors. However, the main point of interest was not in the rare pokemon fossils. A majority of the visitors came to catch a glimpse at the rock that is rumored to be a sleeping Jirachi. The rock was originally excavated from the Unova region and later brought to Zatao to attract interest to the new museum branch.
After catching a quick glimpse of the unmoving rock, many left. A sleeping legendary was more boring than most expected. It was...just a rock. Many even claimed the museum was ripping them off because how could a rock ever turn into a Jirachi? It didn't even look like one!
But one day, almost out of the blue, a mist spread out from the museum and soon engulfed Katarina. Perhaps something had awoken the sleeping Jirachi. Where else could this mysterious mist have come from? Every human caught up in the mist seems to have just disappeared - although the pokemon remained unaffected. The bustling city of Katarina turned dead silent besides the howl of lonely pokemon searching for their lost human friends. The mist continues to obscure all attempts at entering and leaving the city - just as someone or something tries to enter through the mist, they find themselves walking in circles back to their original location.
Roughly a day after the initial expansion of the mist, a large mansion appeared in place of the museum. Some pokemon, feeling a vague trace of their trainers inside, disappeared to explore the new location. None have returned.
The main question everyone is wondering of course is: where is your character?
They are on the verge of existing yet not existing. Their very existence is quickly fading. The mist does not seem to approve of their existence, but the human will has proven very difficult to get rid of. To survive, it has found refuge in a realm quite close to the physical one, yet quite different.
The dream world.
Your character wakes up on an island of clouds and is wondering, just like you, what the heck just happened. Most only remember seeing a heavy mist envelop them before fading into unconsciousness. Curious, your characters may investigate their surroundings only to find that they are walking on clouds that are somehow solid enough to carry your weight. They don't quite want to question how THAT works as long as it keeps working.
There are several other characters scattered about the island. Some are still sleeping and some have woken up looking just as confused as your character is. There is also a sizable cottage in the far side of the island but the door is locked and the blinds are shut. No one seems to be home.

Reposting some of my RP-related announcements I made in the thread
Pandashroom Pogeys HEY GUYS, YAY ANNOUNCMENTS (Who doesn't love those?) *You can get your old pets recerted in the new cert if you have their uncert and 5 RPs. Each RP must be at least 15 posts (at least 5 should be made by YOU with your pokemon doing something outside the pokeball) with each post being 2 sentences minimum. RP events participation with the pokemon counts as one RP. A journal with a backstory for them that is at around 300+ words counts as one RP. You do NOT need to get your pet recerted to RP it. You only need to register it in the trainer/pokemon registration thread in the journals subforum to qualify for it to evolve (only for pets from the old shop - this is done automatically for new pets) This is our new cert btw - pokeball type will change corresponding to coloration rarity of your pokemon Certing thread here*We are now banning the making of cosplay trainers. There's just a whole can of worms we do not want to open with that stuff. If you currently own a cosplay trainer, you may keep him/her. Also, please do not use pictures in your journal without crediting to the original maker of the picture. It's common courtesy. You CAN make characters loosely based on other characters from other series - just don't steal their name/backstory/appearance/whatever 100%. For example, my trainer is loosely based off of yellow from the pokemon manga in that she has a straw hat, is born in Viridian, likes fishing poles, and is somewhat cheerful. But her name isn't yellow and she is pretty different from yellow of the manga. *Additionally, Panda and I would like to review some stuff we would NOT like to see in trainers and their backstories. Severe psychological disorders that may make others feel uncomfortable. We're not saying your character can't have that occasional obsessive compulsive urge or a crazy obsession with *insert something here*, but we don't want them to have extreme multiple personalities or something that makes them snap at you five seconds, break down into tears the next minute, and then try to kill you or something. Nor do we want serial killers. This is based on a children's show - abeit a tiiiiny bit more mature - so please do not be too extreme.
You are not allowed to have furries/gjinkas/whatever as trainers. If you wouldn't see that kind of person in real life (do you know anyone in real life with real wings? No? Then don't have a character with wings...), you probably shouldn't make a character with those traits. Your trainer can cosplay as pokemon and stuff such as with fake ears, we just do not want any weird hybrids/angsty lab experiment past/whatever.
New made-up regions or gym leaders. We don't want a convoluted mess of backstories clashing ("Oh, the region I'm from is named blah and it is north of hoenn!" "Oh really? The region I'm from is also north of hoenn but it's not called blah...")The gym leaders in the game are, as far as we're concerned, still the gym leaders for their respective regions. Yeah common sense may or may not be so common.
If any of your characters is seen violating the above "what we don't want to see in a character" traits, you may be asked to switch them or be pulled out of the RP. We only make these rules to help everyone enjoy the RP environment more, so please respect them <3

Mission Star of Zatao had been initiated. Her task was simple: blueprint the museum the cocooned Jirachi was being showcased at and present the intricate plans to Elites for crash and capture of the Pokemon stone. It has been said that little Jirachis, when their tummy eyes were forced open, could project a stream of energy to power an entire continent. It was but a tale, but Elites seemed intent on getting the little fella even if the story was false. It'd be good for two uses: either being a full time generator or being a worthy item to trade for upgrade of their old generators.
Cetus prepared herself for her duties as scout with four other grunts, taking guise as Mei-Zhan for her daytime scout of the area. Preparation had taken longer than anticipated because the so-called waterproof but temporary hair dye took many rounds to come out to an acceptable blue. But with her hair up odango style, eyes a convincing fallow and attire loose to hold her uniform underneath, she was ready. Even though the rock was just . . . a rock, it certainly had attracted a large group of peeps. Cetus thinned her lip as she tried to scout the area, but of course it was tough when you bumped into more boobs and butts than the typical human.
The remaining angst was just an oblivious blur when the mist hit her like a mallet and sent her tumbling. Hitting the REM cycle of slumber before she even hit the floor, Cetus out like the tide. When her eyes flapped open, she awoke before a quaint little cottage seen from cute fairytales. A little headache throbbed in the back of her mind from hitting the floor a tad bit hard.
"The heck am I?" Cetus murmured to no one in particular. However, there was ears a-listening. Many ears, as she was not the only one who seemed to be pulled into the rather mundane Dreamland.
"Hey, um, is everyone alright?" she asked, falling into her Mei guise with keen precision. Stiff-faced but careful, that is was the preset personality of the woman. "Anyone need help?"
Just what the hell was going on here? Mei tapped her back pocket and considered her communicator, but thought otherwise to not bring about suspicion. Did the higher-ups know her location? Where were her comrades? Worst of all, where the eff was her Pokemon, Mira and Menkar? s**t was getting real, even though she had yet to realize she was floating in a dream.
