User ImageHe was almost satisfied. A large, dead gazelle limped in his mouth, plainly dead with severe slices along its side. Blood dripped from the dark brown lion's maw, his scarlet eyes scanning the territory. He had gotten his kill - the largest gazelle of the family he had spotted, and yet, he was not satisfied.

It simply was not big enough to his satisfaction. He had trained to be a beast of a hunter, even though the banu in the Ukuucha'Wafalme did all the hunting usually. There were still larger, bigger, more fat prey out there, and he had yet to find it. He knew he could yield greater results to bring back home to his pregnant banu, but he just had not found it yet.

He gave a loud grunt as he shoved the gazelle's body on top of a large rock, looking over the dead carcass. Surely, it was enough for an entire family, perhaps even more. But a frown visibly appeared on his face. He needed to leave it here, and look for bigger, better prey...

Pureti was out looking for her own meal. Since her lovely cubs grew up and were adults of their own, she found that she only needed to find small meals, just for her. It had been years since her mate Katashi past and she realizing she had to do something with herself besides wait. She almost expected him to come back and everything to be all right, but she knew realistically that she had to move on with her life.

As she looked around she smelt the smell of blood, meat. She followed the smell to a gazelle that hung over a rock. It was odd for someone to leave their catch, she thought, especially since it was such a large catch. She wondered what happened to the hunter and why he left his meal. Than she saw a handsom lion and realized it must be his kill.

It seemed such a large kill that he didn't need it all to himself. Perhaps he would be kind enough to share a bit with her. It wouldn't hurt to ask, she decided. Quietly she came up beside him, keeping her distance. "Excuse me mister lion, I was wondering if you would let me have a little bit of your gazelle you have over there. I thought that maybe it would be too much for you to eat and that I could have a couple bites."

She smiled kindly at him. Her stomach growled right at the moment and she looked down at it with embarrassment. Now wasn't the time for her stomach to act up. If all went well she would have a nice meal in just a couple moments. She just needed to wait and see what the lion said.

When he sensed someone approaching, he stilled and casually looked over his shoulder to find a pink leopardess. He saw her look at him with green hopeful eyes, which made him raise his own. It was bold of her to approach him, too. What was even bolder was her request, and the name she gave him. He felt the need to immediately retaliate - to strike out and punish, but he had let it go, as his future offspring and banu Lililamuna were at the forefront of his thoughts. He had no time to deal with this.

"You will call me Pad Akram'raja," he scolded, voice laden with slow anger, "You are hungry, female?"

As his scarlet eyes went over her frame, thin, yet delicate, he wondered thoughtfully. She wasn't too harsh on the eyes, but yet, she could have used some manners. Her smile was too hopeful - if anything, Akram'raja would have favored her begging to have his work over looking at him so hopefully.

He grunted as her stomach growled, clearly indicating her hunger. While it was in his nature to be cruel, he supposed he was not going to use the gazelle anyways.

"You have my permission to have it, female," he said, at last, after he purposely waited a few moments in judgment.

"But what would you give in return?" he posed, "Or perhaps you would think carefully as you feast. I sense that many rogue creatures of this land have naught to give. Nor would I allow those without honor to give me favors. But it would not do you well to continue on like this in a weakened state, so you should partake."

"Thank you Pad Akram'raja," Puteri said as she bowed her head. This was the first time she really had a need to remember her manners. It wasn't often she was correct, not since she left her old pride anyways. She watched Pad Akram'raja with interest, wondering if he came from nobel birth like her. It would explain his attitude.

She inched toward the meat thinking about what she could offer in return. It would have to be something splendid since it was very kind of him to let her have the meal. "I can offer my services as a nanny if that might interest you," she said before taking a quick bite out of the gazelle and scarfing it down. It was delicious, the best meal she had in ages. "I've watched my own cubs and kept them safe since they were cubs. They are now grown and out on their own."

Sadness filled her eyes as she remembered her offsprings. It felt like it hadn't been long since they were cubs themselves and now they were all grown up, not needing her anymore. It gave her an empty feeling inside the more she thought about it. She took another large bite out of the meat.

"I can also make little trinket," she said thinking back to what she could offer the him in return. "My mother taught me how to make jewelry out of beads and flowers and other material we found in the pride. She told me that it would give me patience and give me something to do once I became princess. I still had nothing to do once I did become princess." She explained, realizing she probably said too much. She hated mentioning that she was a princess once. It made her feel that others saw her as weak and breakable, when she rather be seen as one who was strong.

Ah, at least the girl knew how to listen. While this would normally be expected in the Ukuucha'Wafalme, it was common for rogues to continue to be ignorant and dimwitted after being told what to do - especially non-lions. He didn't even need to tell her to bow! He would usually note that as an achievement, but he cared little for creatures such as leopards, and so simply turned his head away as she came in for his hunt.

Akram'raja was about to turn away, thinking that the leopardess had little to offer. What could she have done, anyways? As a leopard, she was unworthy to him, especially because she could obviously not hunt. But he lingered around a little, entertaining her thoughts. Perhaps she would have something amusing to say.

This leopardess was a lowly nanny? He surely would not allow her near his children - she would defile them - of this he was certain. He would have no leopard teaching his children lies or bringing them up as fools.

As she continued to talk, he also continued to look away, disinterested, not noticing what must have been going on in her mind. His paw lifted... He was going to just walk away, until-

"Princess, hmm?" his attention was brought back to her petite form - he towered over her little pink body, though he observed her more carefully now.

"What is a little princess doing out here, alone in the rogue lands? A little far from home, are we?" he offered, a sly smile coming onto his mouth.

"Well, we have something vaguely in common now, don't we? I am the son of a vizier in the Ukuucha'Wafalme, and have much influence in the lands. I doubt your pride must have been as rich and proud, especially when they are... missing their princess."

She was right, he did have nobel blood. It took her a moment to remember her manners. When she was younger she would always get in trouble for being rude to other pride's royalty. Despite what he said about her pride, she was going to show how civilized her pride had made her. "It is an honour to be in the presence of such noble blood." she bowed her head again to him. She hoped he would think better of her and her pride afterwards, though it did pain her to have to bow to him again when he was insulting her old home.

"I ran away from my pride years ago. It was difficult and I spent many days trying to outrun and outsmart the guards of my old pride. It was luck that I escaped. I heard that my parents had another cub, a male one. They were pleased with their luck and have stopped trying to bring me back. I believe all of us are more happier this way." As she spoke she couldn't help but feel guilty about leaving. Her parents must have been worried, but now with a son they would be much more happier than with a daughter who refused to be queen.

She took another bite of meat as she thought about what she was going to do next. It had been too long since she had a place to call home and she was tired of wandering. She would rest some where around here and continue her quest to find a home. She would just need find a place to stay. "Pad Akram'raja, I know I have already asked much of you and I am very thankful for your help, but I was wondering if you could tell me where I could stay around here? I would like to rest before I continue my search for my new home. It's been a difficult so far and I would appreciate it if there was a quiet place I could rest for a night or two." She gave him one of her most friendliest smiles, hoping that it would help convince him to help her.

When the leopard bowed again, Akram'raja stared at her in consideration for just a bit longer. Hmm... He had never seen a non-lion respect him in the way he needed to be before... Definitely not. This female was assuredly filling her role correctly as well as saying the right things. Then, after listening to her story and request, a smirk appeared on his face.

"Why, a leopard princess outsmarting her guards and making it out quite fast. That is quite an achievement, isn't it?" he asked rhetorically at her, though not exactly mockingly.

"Quite a sad tale. Once you were out, they did not want you back in, and now you are just a mere rogue leopardess in these harsh lands. I know the story well. These heathens..."

He looked on at her, now seeming to be very interested in the fact that she was eating at his favor and permission. Something like her shouldn't be wasted and left to die in the rogue lands. Yet, he despised her lower breed. Still, Akram'raja could not deny some value of royalty and a pretty pelt... And that innocent smile.

"As a matter of fact," he started, scarlet eyes steeling into the female, "I have found plenty of places to 'stay' out here until I return to the Ukuucha'Wafalme. It is a large pride, teeming with many families and comfortable homes. It is where we males keep our females safe and well-kept, and in return, they assure us their loyalty and high performances. Ah, yes... The Ukuucha'Wafalme, the pride of kings."

His eyes floated upwards, pretending to reflect on the magnificence of his pride. And then it roamed back to the female to gauge her response.

"I, the great Akram'raja could extend an invitation to you to join me. None had dared bother me in these ill-tamed lands, and I plan on journeying back to the Ukuucha'Wafalme by the time I hunt a larger prey for my family. Perhaps you could be... included, hmm?"

"It was difficult escaping, but I am much happier now."

She listened to him carefully when he spoke of his offer. Pride of Kings, she thought to herself, it sounds rich and filled with culture. If anything it would be worth a visits. She wouldn't have to stay too long. It was be terrible if she over stayed her welcome after all. Plus staying with such a handsome lion would cheer her up some.

"I would love to come with you Pad Akram'raja," She finally said after thinking about it. It would be a nice break from the rogue lands that she had to call home since she left her pride. "Your pride must be wonderful if it is the Pride of Kings. I can only imagine how wondrous it must be. Thank you Pad Akram'raja for giving me the opportunity."

She gave him a bow to show her thanks and had a cute little grin of excitement as she thought about how much fun was in store for her in the new pride. She wondered if she would meet any new friends and what the members of the pride were like. her thoughts were racing and the more she thought about it the more glorified the pride became, to the point where it seemed like the perfect home for her.

"I can't wait to see the pride," she spoke more to herself than anything as she continued to think about the pride.

He smiled. It always came this easy for Akram'raja. He didn't even need to give off a show or say anything, but he had decided to for the more dimwitted species. Of course, he couldn't assume leopards knew as much as lions. Those things rarely stayed in prides, much less talked to one another in more than grunts and snarls in their treetops. To find this pink leopardess was a princess of a pride, supposedly, was astounding. However, to Akram'raja, it just made a great prize to bring back home. Perhaps he could show her off to the sultan to judge and bring more prestige to his name.

"It is indeed a rare opportunity not lightly offered. Though we are mostly lions, I see that you can prove to be as highly regarded as the other females in our pride. As well, being attached to my name comes with high honor, obviously. I will see to it that some of your crudeness may be ironed out, still, and I can help hone some of your 'princess' perfections."

And with that, he turned away, eyes focused on the horizon opposite of the leopardess now.

"I will be a minute's walk there, resting until you are done with the gazelle. Eat well, for there is a journey that might prove more taking than your escape from your pride."

He knew she wouldn't run away or turn down his offer so easily. He knew she would come to him, when she was done. And with those thoughts, a very sinister grin appeared as he began to walk, invisible to the innocent female behind him.

She listened to him and nodded her head. "While I am there I will be sure to be as respectable as I can Pad Akram'raja. It has been a while since I've been in situations where I needed to be polite though. I'll try and refrain from the habbits I have picked up while in the rogue lands," she said nodded her head. "I am unbiased when it comes to species. Coming into a pride of mostly lions might give me a chance to learn something new."

Her attention went back to her meal and she started to really dig into it. The meat was so tender, she loved eating every bite. She hoped she wasn't being rude, eating infront of Pad Akram'raja, but if he wanted any he was welcomed to help himself. She was sure if he did want some he would just take it anyways. He wouldn't wait for her to get done.

Still she thought about how lucky she was running into Pad Akram'raja. She could have just as easily met a cruel lion who couldn't care less about her and not let her eat any of the meat. Instead he, not only gave her a meal, he welcomed her to come home with him to see his pride. It was an honor that Puteri was not used to in the rogue lands. She would be sure not to disgrace him as long as she was in his lands.

Once she was done eating she looked up at him and smiled innocently. "Thank you again Pad Akram'raja for everything you have done. It has made my life so much easier," she said bowing her head.
