She sat at the top of the tree, hidden by the leaves and the shadows that melded well with her dark coat. There she was waiting for a certain dark lion she had fallen in love with. But as the days had passed so did her hope that he'd come back to her faded more and more. Still she waited there, just a bit longer she kept saying to herself, just a bit longer. He said he'd come back so he had to. He had even given his full name to her, trust.
A sound caught her swiveling ears and down below she could see a dark shape. The dying sun though could be playing tricks on her so she lay quietly in the branches. If this was him she'd drop down on him and attack him to prove her point. If it wasn't, then that creature would continue to move on.

Gebhuza was coming back with good news. While immensely relieved as he’d left the pride and went searching for the blue leopardess, the dark lion’s worries were slowly increasing though. What if she had left? What if she didn’t like what he had to say about his pride? What if she rejected him after knowing the things he did on a regular basis? All this weighted heavily on his mind but he hardly showed it on his expression. He just kept moving forward.
He had already caught her scent by the time we saw their tree but Kav was nowhere in sight and Gebhuza frowned as he got closer and closer to the roots. Was she already asleep in the den? Then, he remembered she was a leopard and his red eyes started to slowly climb their way all the way up to the foliage above.

It was him! Her heart leapt with joy but she had a plan in motion and dropped from above. A roar tearing through her maw. Maybe she could pretend she didn't know him. Good plan. She snarled, fur bristling. "Who. Are. You." Golden eyes cautious but playful. "Get away from my den."

Gebhuza barely had time to dodge the large feline that suddenly dropped down from above. He recognized her instantly but apparently the same couldn’t be said for her.
“Easy, easy! Kav. Kaveri! It’s me!” What the…? Why didn’t she recognize him? He was certain this was Kav. Blue and beautiful. Yellow Eyes shining like little suns… yes, it was definitely her. The dark lion took a few quick steps back before looking into the leopardess’ eyes and trying again. “It’s me.”
Was she angry with him? Had he taken too long to return? Had something happened while he was gone?

Kaveri narrowed her eyes at the male, scrutinizing him for a moment before she grinned at him. Now laughter burst forth as she dropped to the ground and rolled with laughter. His face was absolutely priceless. It was the look of a lion who thought he had lost everything and somehow that look made her feel powerful.
"You should have seen your face." the water colored leopard rumbled with the laughter that was fading in her body. "I missed you." Getting close now she snuggled against him. Inhaling the scent of him that she missed. "What did they say?" She asked, curious to know whether they'd have to keep their relationship a secret or if she was able to go with him.

Gebhuza breathed a little easier when he heard her laugh. So it was just a joke, huh?
“You’re crazy.” He said very seriously but there was a hint of a smile trying to force itself into existence. For a moment the dark lion actually considered giving her a little scare in return by lying about his leader’s decision but all those thoughts evaporated when she snuggled up against him. “She said you can join. If you still wish for it.”
He dropped his head over hers and sighed heavily – relief, weariness and contentment all mixed into one.
“As if anyone could refuse you.” He whispered in her ear.

She purred, it rumbled through her like thunder. It was great news to know that she could come with him. However that meant nothing t her at that very moment, there was only him in her eyes at this very moment. As he got closer that's when she made her move. Though she was smaller than him, she put a lot of weight forward and threw him to the ground.
"I missed you." Sinking into him, she felt his warmth and broad muscles, and most of all his scent.
Now with all of that out of the way and feeling much better she rolled away from him and stood. "Tell me about the pride." Kaveri wanted to know everything about it before they moved on in their relationship. "I want to know everything."

It was such a strange feeling, Gebhuza thought to himself as he let his body fall under the dark leopardess’ weight. Complete release, that’s what it was. No one else in the world would ever be able to just pin him down without a deadly fight and yet as Kaveri pushed him down, he took it willingly if not gladly. He supposed some might say he put too much trust in a near stranger but despite not having spent much time with Kav, Gebhuza knew the two of them already shared a very strong connection.
So, with his back on the ground and a rather pretty leopardess on top of him, the dark lion smiled a little with a gentle rumbling deep in his throat making itself heard occasionally.
“I missed you, too.” He said honestly, raising one paw to touch her cheek. “I have much to tell you. We should leave soon.” Hopefully not too soon as he was enjoying this little reunion. “Mmmm… where should I start?” it was more of a tease than actual indecision but Gebhuza was silently hoping Kaveri wouldn’t be shocked when he told her about the pride.

She purred, happy to have found someone. "Let's go to the den and stay there for a bit. Our pride can wait for us to arrive there. You can start from wherever you deem fit." Already making her way to the den, "Then we can go from there."
Tail wiggling in a way to entice him to her body. "You coming?" Turning to look back at him as she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow.

“Our pride.” Gebhuza repeated quietly as he got up slowly from the ground and started following after the blue leopardess. There was so much to say and yet he was nearly speechless every time Kaveri talked. There was something about he couldn’t quite explain… but he always wanted to know more, see more, be with her more. He couldn’t be more glad that he wouldn’t have to choose between her and his pride.
“Yes, darling.” He said with a grin, picking up the pace and then standing on his hind legs to give Kav a big fluffy hug as soon as they entered the den.

"I could seriously do some damage to you." Kaveri mentioned with a sly grin. She gave him a pouting sort of look, "I don't kill you because I love you." She sat down staring at him. "You know... I think its time to talk now so we can play later." The leopardess eyed him with a look an angry mother would give to a cub who lied to their face. He was in trouble.
"Speak or feel a painful embrace." It wasn't a threat, more of a tease.

“I’m sure you could.” And he meant it. She was a strong and fierce leopardess, he could tell. And that was actually a good thing considering where they were going. His pride wasn’t exactly the easiest place to live but it was home and when it came to his pride Gebhuza was loyal to a fault.
“Is that a promise?” he asked quietly with a wide grin leaning closer to her ear. He chuckled, gently releasing Kaveri from his grip before making himself comfortable. It was a long story and even though he planned on telling her many things during the journey to the Skadu’kliek, the dark lion knew he should get a good head start while they were in the den. Get the bad stuff out of the way and such. “Alright. Make yourself comfortable and I’ll begin. You are now part of a very secretive pride. We don’t let anyone get too close to it and we only leave to go on missions. Our leader is a young lioness… I’ll tell you her name and the name of the pride as he get closer. We are strong and stealthy warriors and the pride survives by completing missions that are requested of us. Above all else we value the next generation, our cubs and we would do anything to protec-“ And he just kept going.
For a lion who usually spoke so little, he seemed to have a lot more to say that anyone could have imagined. It was easier than he’d expected – talking that is – and Gebhuza had to admit he found it almost therapeutic. He just hoped she would still be by his side by the time he was done. Gebhuza knew she was tough so he wasn’t too worried but he was a pretty good judge of his inner state and he knew the worry that lay within. He really didn’t want to lose her especially now that they were finally together again and soon travelling back to the pride. - FIN! -
