Well assuming life took the same course as it did on Earth as it would have on Mars, we would still be very different, say for instance the event that wiped out the dinosaurs on our planet may not have hit their's or vise versa; assuming you believe in that >.<

OR, since Mars is a smidgen farther from the sun than us, the life there would grow to be a lot larger than here on earth (less gravity and what not) and may be even furrier or have some sort of internal heating element to compensate for the lower temperature assuming that the temperature would be lower.

AND, if the possibility that intelligent life had developed and they were as smart or even smarter than us (I give humans way too much credit) there might be some hostility. Lets think about it, we're not a very friendly species per-say, we tend to want to dominate everything else, and in with that in mind, we constantly fight each other. I mean look at every movie depicting our encounters with alien. We're either blowing them up, or they're blowing us up (most likely because we blew up something of theirs). I'm not saying that we couldn't be friends with Martians....eventually, they'd just need to have something we would want...like oil, hot women, or both.
