We've had a couple plot meetings on Chatango, but we still have a long way to go. Some people have trouble being able to attend meetings, and sometimes people have ideas that they'll forget unless they post them right away. So, in response to these issues, we now have this great and wonderful thread! Post your ideas here, and feel free to piggyback off of other people's ideas. Remember, this is for the creation of the main plot that encompasses the dreams/room within it. This is not for the creation of room plots.
Here's what we've discussed so far in the meetings:
- The ball should be more guest driven, meaning that choices that guests make will determine the outcome of the ball, almost like a make your own adventure book. - We like the idea of crossovers. - We discussed the idea of using mirrors to link the dreams. - We mentioned having co-hosts show up in guest-created rooms. - Poy had an idea about T-Corp making people get stuck in dreams.

Here's an idea I just came up with. Please add to it, change it, or discard it. heart
It was the day of the anniversary of the 10th Annual Ball, and Gaians from every corner of the planet assembled at the grand ballroom to celebrate this momentus occasion. Guests were twirling around the ballroom and laughing at fond memories with old friends. Everything was perfect, and no one in that room had a care in the world. No one noticed the man clad entirely in brown walk through the crowd with sleepy eyes and small sack made of worn cloth. The man walked to the little stage at the front of the room and whisked off his cape, revealing an assortments of glass bottles all filled with different colored sands.
"I am the Sandman," he announced boastfully. "For too long, you have paid homage to parties and festivities that have selfishly deprived you of your time in my kingdom of sleep and dreams. Tonight, all that will be remedied."
He carefully unlaced the thread that bound the small sack together, reached inside with his two forefinger and thumb, and sprinkled a tiny bit of shimmering dust onto the floor. Instantly, everyone felt the impulse to yawn. The Sandman chuckled at the crowd's response, obviously pleased with himself.
"Tonight, I have prepared for you a different type of party. Soon, you will descend into seven worlds of dreams, each different from the last. Once you land in whichever dream you randomly fall into, you will be trapped. That is, unless each of you can come together, share the dreams, and discover the secret to getting out. You have three days. If you manage to escape, I will accept my defeat and only bring sleep to those who seek it. But, if you don't manage to escape in the three days I have given, you will be trapped in my world of dreams for all eternally."
Evil cackles echoed through the grand ballroom and the guests nervously whispered amongst themselves. Some guests bolted for the doors, but it was no use. They were locked. With a huge grin, the Sandman opened the bag all the way, and swung it so that the glimmering dust covered everyone in the room.
"Sweet dreams," the Sandman said as the last Gaian dropped to the ground.

I've loved having the Sandman involved from the start, but I just thought of an amusing thought. What if all the guests that are excited for the annual ball are too excited to sleep the next night so while they're waiting for it to open they all fall asleep... and the hosts and co-hosts can all be so exhausted from planning the ball all year that they fall asleep... and the Sandman feels bad for everyone (or is amused) that he uses his powers to connect them all while they sleep so they can still have a Ball.
lol, dumb I know, but I'm on my way to bed here.
Yay for having a planning thread!

Considering its been a while since we've had the Chantago meetings, and in the first one EVERYONE came up with ideas.
It might be a good idea for Broken and Chibi to post those ideas here for everyone.

It's going to be a couple hundred pages to go through. @_@ Maybe it might just be easier to send an announcement and get everyone who posted an idea to put it in here. Waiting for meetings is the pits! @Robayn - So, everyone was so tired from planning the ball that they fell asleep? I can see that happening with all of us irl. rofl If that were the set-up, what would the conflict be in the plot? All good stories have to have a conflict and resolution. It could definitely make for a more positive spin on the dream worlds. 3nodding

I was just throwing it out there because I was tired and it seemed funny at the time.

We had some seriously uber great ideas that night with everyone coming up with stuff and then they never got mentioned again by anyone, not even in the next meeting.

Broken said that she had the notes, but I haven't gotten them from her yet. Hopefully she'll have them posted in here soon enough.
I can't wait to get the main plot finalized. I'll talk with Broken about arranging another meeting. We're also dealing with a few other issues in the background, so it kind of got knocked off the top of the planning list temporarily. lol

Based on all of the input we've received from everyone, Broken and I are putting together the final form of the main plot. We have a very rough draft we're working with, and we are working out a few final kinks with plot hoses. We hope to have the final version of the main plot available in a few days. biggrin
