User Image Falys slid onto a bench and sighed deeply. What a day, and it was barely past lunchtime. She’d been in the administrative office all morning, assisting in updating their ancient accounting system.

Several ‘freelance’ accountants had been called in on for the morning to translate old numbers into new books, refile ledgers, and somehow account for the $3.67 that went missing from the ledgers in the spring semester of three years ago. They never found it. All in all though, the search had been the most interesting thing to happen all morning.

It hadn't been long since she graduated, but she’d never expected to see Makai again, especially not after they turned her down for an opening in their accounting department. Hmph, it was likely for the best. After she passed her trial at the Grave of the Fairies, the last thing she wanted to see was another school uniform. It was odd; she’d never hated the uniform until she’d been allowed to put it away for good. Now, the thought of being around students made her chafe with anxiety, as though she herself were backsliding into the educational world.

Surreptitiously glancing around, she saw surprisingly few students. A baleful glance to the sky provided the answer; it was likely about to rain. Falys had her umbrella, and so didn’t mind. There was something about the white noise of rain that was soothing, and she knew it could easily lull her to sleep if she let it.

Taking a deep, appreciative breath of the still air, Falys felt the first rain drop hit her nose. Blinking in surprise, she smiled lightly as she stood up, blue polka dot umbrella quickly snapping open.
