Name: Erunienkotz Twist or "Mr. Twist". As he says: "My friends call me Erun...so you may call me Mr. Twist." [Pronounced eh-rune-eye-n-cotts]

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Species: Human (though questionably so)

Occupation: Mimicry and Ventriloquy.

Appearance: He's 6'1, and weighs 215 pounds. He's lanky, and thin, but not anorexically so. He has a pale complexion, and has dark circles under his eyes, always looking tired. He walks with a slouch. His eyes are light blue, almost white. His hair is dark chesnut brown, and often very messy, falling in strands over his head and face, and touching to his broad shoulders. He dresses in dark, neutral clothes, appart from the bright red silk ribbon around his neck. The ribbon is the only thing he wears consistantly, every day. His clothes usually look disheveled, but not shabby.

Picture: http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f300/RoxyChick2003/Erunuenkutz.jpg

Personality: He's not very talkative, but doesn't detest company like he may come off to. He keeps things to himself, and can act very mysteriously. He can also act highly paranoid, and is easy to startle. He usually appears to be calm, and emotionless, though he's been known to play pranks on people with his voice skills when he's bored. He's selfish when it comes to his addiction, which is throat/cough drops, unless he considers you his friend. Anyone that massages his back is a friend of his, unless they do something stupid. He detests puns, and if anyone says one in his presense, he'll reply with a monotone voice "You're an idiot, get out of my sight" every time. However, he does have a sense of humor, and enjoys to randomly tell jokes, still in his regular, deep, whispery, monotone voice. He has a cute giggle, but only ever uses it when someone tries to do an impression, good or bad. He enjoys solitude, but can get lonely from time to time. Though he acts cold to people most of the time, he can't stand it when people cry, and tries to comfort them. Otherwise, unless it concerns him, nothing really matters to him.

Abilities: He can imitate any noise, or voice he hears after only one listen, and can project his voice from anywhere, or anything. He can also speak without moving his mouth, which is an essential skill for a Ventriloquist. He always carries a cane with him that hides an inner-blade which he can pull out at any time, and if he needs to, he can defend himself in a hand-to-hand fight (though, not for very long until his back gets to him.[see below]) He also has knowledge in the medical field, but only so far as the strange and unexplained, and a few generic first-aid treatments. Lastly, with his extensive understanding of the human voice, he can tell who's voice belongs to whom without seeing that person, and can spot a lie quite easily, unless the person is a well trained liar.

Weaknesses: He's addicted to cough-drops, and throat losanges. Give him some of those, and he'll be pleased with you. Also, he has a bad back due to his constant shifting of posture, so he needs the assistance of a cane[mentioned above] to walk. If someone gives him a back massage, he'll adore them until they do something he thinks is really stupid. He also needs reading glasses. Most importantly, if the red ribbon around his neck is removed, or comes off, so does his head. This is important XD

Backstory: Erun was a kind, obedient, studious boy, always entraped in his studies and in reading for pleasure. He was born into a wealthy German family, who was well known for their enterprises in business, and their success with money and investments. However, they were also known as the 'twisted Twists' because of their past history with deals in the underground, long before Erun's time. They were ruthless, and made many enemies. Because of this, through mysterious means, every Twist that was the eldest son of their brothers was brutally murdered, by way of their heads being severed from their bodies. Erun lost his father to this, despite his innocence, when he was only 12. His mother feared that he would be next, since he was their only child, and their son, so she took extra measures to keep him safe. He moved out of his home at the age of 18 to marry Elzebeth Heanes, a woman he fell in love with through his job working at his father's old office. His mother warned him, and urged him to keep himself safe, and Erun promised her never to have a son, so that the line of deaths would end with him. Elzebeth and him lived together for three fine years, which was when Erun began to start his practice of impressions. She always laughed beautifully when he imitated someone's voice, so he came home to her every day with a new one, eager to hear that same laugh. In the intoxicating joy of love and romance, all of Erun's fears of the past left him, and Elzebeth was soon pregnant with his child. However, on the night Erun's child was born, as his wife lay safely in the hospital, he remained alone in their fine mansion, unprotected from his fate. Through the dark halls of his home stalked a man, bearing a large cleaver. Erun only had time to be grateful that his child was a girl before his head was sliced clean off. It was only until after his killer had left, did Erun realize he was still alive. In fact, though his pulse had stopped, he could even still use his head without it being attached to his body! With this crazy realization in mind, Erun frantically fumbled about, trying to find something to put his head back on with. Only able to find bright red ribbon from one of his wife's hats, he securely tied his head back on at the neck. With confusion and shock, Erun packed his bags rapidly, fearful that his killer would return if he found that his victim was still alive, and arrive to finish the job, endangering his family in the process. He fled Germany, but not before leaving his wife a note to let her know of what had taken place. He also left his fortune with her for their child, as well as the mansion for them to live in. Paranoid that his attackers would know of his impossible survival, and even paranoid that Death himself would come after him, Erun joined the circus. Constant travel garaunteed him some form of security, and he was allowed food and lodging in replacement for any payment. Through all of his, Erun hasn't told anyone about his severed head and lack of pulse. He prefers to keep it a secret, lest anyone want to see for themselves. He's also worried about his neck most of the time, and walks a certain way to keep it balanced, which has made his back bad. He sits up straight as well, and has a hard time sleeping due to the fear that he'll wake up with his head in his lap...or not wake up at all. One of the things he likes to do is to study medical miracles and anything odd or peculiar in the medical field. He hopes to someday find cases of men surviving without their heads, or of people without pulses that are still moving around. Now that Erun has his new life, he tries to leave his past in the past. He can't help but be jumpy, and he can't forget about the family he left behind, but he tries not to brood about it.

Facts: He doesn't speak in a German accent, because he doesn't want anyone to know where he's from. If his head were to fall off again, he wouldn't die, and he'd be able to just put it on again. The reason for why he's still 'alive' after all of this, though unknown to him, is that he's the man that Death forgot. Rather than correcting this mistake, Death just figured he'd let Erun live. He kind of feels bad for having to reap all of his forefathers anyway XD Oh, and Erun hates dancing...yeah. Also, he doesn't move his neck. If he wants to look at something, he turns his whole upper-half, and he never nods. The sound of people eating disgusts him, so he eats alone.

Sample: Alone in an empty corner of the tent, shifting his weight onto his cane, Erun regarded himself in his dusty mirror. It wasn't his mirror, really, and more of a general make-up preparation mirror... not like he wore make-up for his part of the show anyway. His pale blue eyes drifted along his own figure, from his crooked brown trench-coat, to his vacant stare. When his eyes fell upon the crisp red ribbon wrapped around his neck, he surpressed a shiver. Hobbling foward, he turned with his cane, the metal of the handle warm to the touch. A voice from outside floated into the tent with the wind, guided straight to Erun's ears. High-pitched, young, female. He walked silently to the opening in the tent's fabric, careful with each step, then stopped before he could reach it. The light through the crack hardly touched the toe of his scuffed black dress shoes. A mischievious mood over-took him when the voices beyond the think veil of fabric continued to speak to each other. Luckily, the last of his mint cough-drop had finally dissolved in his saliva, so his mouth was free to do what it did best. He waited for the right moment, then said with a perfect imitation of the female voice "That tent eats kittens.". The smallest of grins formed on his face when he heard the reaction of the other voice, utterly confused by her friends apparent reply. Dumbfounded, the high-voice young denied saying such a ridiculous thing, exclaiming that someone was playing a trick on her. Erun could tell from their sillohuets on the tent that the former wasn't buying her friend's words. He silently cleared his throat, clutching his cane closer to himself before he continued. "No really, it's not me! Kittens taste gross! I wouldn't eat them, honest!" he spoke, throwing his voice in the process to further the blame. The jig was up this time, since the girl's comrade noticed that her mouth didn't move. Erun took this as his cue to leave, and hobbled awkwardly deeper into the tent, finding a seat and plopping down onto it before the girls unveiled the tent to inspect. They left when he pretended to be asleep, letting him know that his prank was a success. Still, that meant the prank was over, and he was alone again with nothing to do. Heaving a sigh, Erun popped a raspberry cough-drop into his mouth, and waited patiently for something to happen. He spent much of his life waiting. By now, it was practically a hobby.

Circus: Cirque du Noire

Aah, he certainly sounds interesting. @u@ I can't help but giggle at the part about his head coming off. xD Sounds like a ghost story I once read. He's a bit of a paranoid parrot isn't he? And I now have the huge urge to randomly say, "That tent eats kittens" in the middle of a conversation...

Well, for the choice of circus... Noire, he has to deal with a bunch of psychos trying to take over the world. Stelle, he has to deal with a bunch of psychos trying to kill the world. Your pick. c:

Just a note, but he's pretty young isn't he? If his father lived long enough to have a 12 year old son, then I'm pretty sure he was older than 22. Then how come the killer suddenly decided to come and do the job early? And if Erun survived, then wouldn't he be able to identify his killer? Just asking. ;;; Sorry if I'm being overly nosy, I'd just like to know more about him since I'm curious.

No no, the questions are helpful XD

Yes, his father lived to a ripe old-ish age. The killers didn't have a specific age set to kill the Twists. The only reason they 'killed' Erun so early was because they wanted to be done with this duty of theirs, since it had been a gruesome deed their own family had to keep committing, and they were growing tired of it, and slowly losing their hunger for vengeance. They would've killed him when he was even younger, to stop the bloodline altogether, but he was far too protected for that, and they only got their opportunity when they tracked him down a few years later. As for identifying the killer, he was struck from behind, and as soon as his head hit the floor, he lost consciousness for awhile until he came back to his senses to find the killer gone, and his body away from his head.

I still need to pick a circus. Might just pick Noire, since it has less people, but I'm not sure. He'd fit in either place, since he's a bit of a loon himself XD

And actually, I based him off of a story I liked as a kid, about a woman and a man falling in love. And the woman always wore a red ribbon around her neck and told the man to never take it off. Then, on their wedding night, either by her telling him to, or by him just doing it (there are different versions) he took the ribbon off, and her head came off. They never said whether she lived or not though XD

I love him already.

But all I can picture is ..you know..-either troupe- deciding it'd be a great idea to play soccer with his head.

...Especially someone like Eli.;

Now that you mention it, juggling a human head sounds rather interesting...

Which is one of the reasons he doesn't tell anyone about his little misfortune. XD

Uh, anyway, I think it's done...unless you think I need to add anything anywhere. I chose Cirque du Noire, due to the fewer people in it than in Stelle.

The man was always curious about the ribbon, but she just kept it a secret, until she was on her deathbed, when she finally revealed to the man why she wore that ribbon around her neck.

It was a part of an anthology, right?

I'm not entirely sure, but you could be right. I've heard so many versions of it, that I wasn't sure. What you said now is also a version I've heard though.

Was it this? I just remembered the title of the collection series.
