Sarabi had decided that she was going to do her own thing tonight. Normally she would spend some time with her sister, or even her mother around the den however she was getting older and she had fully grown into her body and she was trying to do some things on her own so that she didn't have to rely on her mother, or even take care of her mother. Sarabi wasn't the kind of lioness that liked to be taken care of. Or at least she didn't like the idea of needing to be taken care of. She was independent and enjoyed being independent. that is what she was doing for that night.
She had left the den around sun down and was spending some time exploring the parts of the pride that she had really never seen before. Even though she had spent all of her life in the pride she had spent a good amount of the time exploring the lands outside of the pride instead of exploring the lands inside of the pride. When she was younger she considered leaving the pride for the large lands outside of it, she was interested in the places outside of her home however she always ended up returning. The Pridelands was her home and she knew it. Because of that she decided it would be best to just stay, on the other hand she realized she still had some to explore, she had spent a good amount of her life wandering around the same part of the pride and never any of the others.
She moved carefully, hopping from rock to rock. She wold have explored during the day time however the nights during this time of the year were much, much easier to deal with that was for sure. It was cooler out and on her darker colored coat it made it easier to wander around. She enjoyed it a lot. She pulled herself up on the highest rock and looked out at what she could see, debating on what she was going to do next. Where was she going to go? She wasn't sure, but for now she plopped her rump on the ground and looked out at the lands, taking a moment to take it all in, and enjoy the breeze.

"Come here often?" came a voice behind the dark lioness; clear blue eyes shined in the receding daylight, dark mane framing the light tan of his face well through the coming darkness.
He had been sitting on a stone next to the stranger all this time; she had simply not noticed him, or perhaps he was too quiet in his relaxation. Like her, he had gone out to this part of the Pridelands to just watch the night sky come over the grassy hills. It was peaceful and calm, and definitely aimless, much like his life as of yet. Ever since his banishment from his homeland, he had simply been content with... well, the nothing that happened in the Pridelands. Sure, there had been war, but he was not involved in that - his siblings were safe was well as his parents, and that was really about all he cared.
His tail swayed eagerly for his guest, eyes watching her curiously; her markings seemed... familiar. He was intrigued; it was nothing like the usual golds and browns of the Pridelands. Yet, she was apparently a native, too. There were so many in these lands, but by the relaxation and comfort of her composure, and the quick bounces on those rocks, he could tell that she, too, had lived here for a while.
"I'm Ramani," he offered then, smile falling on his face.
This individual made him curious, and he was one to liked to know about things that piqued his curiosity.

The voice surprised her, however she did not act as if she was surprised, or at least attempted not to. She turned toward the voice and looked at him curiously. He too looked familiar, interesting not the kind of interesting that she was used to. The golds and browns that flushed into the pridelands were something that she was used to. Almost all of them were colored the same, she was proud of her markings because of that. She looked different, she very much resembled the colors from the land that she was originally from. She didn't live there long, when she was old enough her mother moved her and her sister, from the pride, they were banished from it. She had never met her father however there was somethign that she was used to and that was the pridelands, the lands that she finally wanted to get used to and call her home.
She looked at the male, her silver-y white eyes equally as bright as the male's. His markings were interesting, not the normal markings that she had seen around here. she flicked her tail around behind her before looking forward thinking of a response to answer the male a smile grew on her face before she spoke, "not in a while." She commented with a small chuckle before turning to him and grinning it was a small grin but one that showed what she wanted to. She was thinking, she was thinking.
She paused for a moment and then stood up shifting slightly as she did, the male seemed interested in her company and that made her a little excited, she could possibly get her company to go on some kind of adventure with her, see some kind of the pride, something, really anything sounded very interesting to her. she paused once again before speaking to him with a smile even more on her face. "It is very nice to meet you Ramani." She laughed flicking her tail in his direction, shifting and getting comfortable as she did. She then grinned from ear to ear. "My name is Sarabi, it is nice to have some company out here," she commented before returning her question to him. "Do you come here often?"

He couldn't help it - his smile grew a little wider as he watched her look at him with those pale silver eyes so calmly. He noticed the two were equally observing each other on first glance, and simply basked in the silence until the female had a response. He was aware that she was thinking, but that was fine; he was used to being patient, especially for attention, having been among royalty in the swamp lands.
But when she stood up, his head flickered over to hers quickly, as her movement was rather abrupt. Had she been ready to leave, already? Perhaps some part of his mane was off or his voice hadn't been too friendly with her, but Ramani surely hoped he would not spend an evening getting rejected. Still, it looked like she had a little more business, and so he remained quiet until she spoke again.
All those grins and laughs. It made Ramani get up, wanting to chuckle at the giddiness himself; what was it with girls and all of these cheerful gestures? He chanced a closer encounter. So, with a deft leap, he made it onto the rock Sarabi had been standing on, landing just a couple feet away from her. Still, he didn't get close enough to threaten her body, if she had any ounce of caution in her.
"Mmm, and you seem like nice company, Sarabi," he returned, moving a part of his body to turn to her after his jump.
"And I do, in fact! It's kind of nice to be on solid ground, isn't it? Even if they are rocks. It's a little... different than what I was used to. But yes, these..." Ramani said as he paused to scratch at the rocky surface under the two to demonstrate, "These rocks, they just... won't move. It's nice to have that feeling after travelling around, home to home."
He stretched next to her, feeling a yawn come up from even getting near the feeling of this new home's comfort was to him. He wasn't sure if he should move or not, or whether Sarabi was keen on resting here, but by the looks of her posture and the fact that she was standing up, she probably wouldn't mind a little walk.
"Want to go somewhere?" he asked suddenly to this still very new face; what else did he have to do?

The lioness watched the male carefully, she really couldn't put her finger on why he just seemed familiar. The few times that Sarabi spend times in the pride during her life was with her sister. Other wise she wandered around a lot, so there wasn't really may other lions in the pride that she spent time with, it was mostly her mother and her sister and the occasional hunting group. She shrugged it off for now and then greeted then nodded toward him. "I hope I'm good company." She said playfully before thinking for a moment thinking and then wiggled her toes on the ground under her feet.
She took a moment to take in what he was saying before agreeing with him. "True." She spoke simply before looking down at the rocks. "I've called this land home for a while but never really stuck around too often." She laughed a little about he idea before speaking once again. "I spent so much more time wandering around the borders then in them." She really did spend so much more of her time before wandering around the pride but she was glad that she was finally deciding to start getting comfortable with the pride and settling in once again.
Her ear's perked at his question, yes she did want to go she wanted to go wander the pride, do something exciting, and when she had company she wanted to do it even more. She turned toward the male before nodding. "I heard the watering hole is very nice this time of night." She said turning toward him and flicking her tail against his nose before she started to trot down some of the rocks. When she wanted to be she could be very spontaneous and she just wanted to get up and move at the moment. "if you can keep up." She teased as she started to jump down from rock to rock.

Whatever it was that made Sarabi constantly look him over sure made Ramani feel confident and brazen enough to do more with this stranger than the usual passing by greet. Which was great for him, because he did enjoy going on adventures and exploring much of the world with another's company, though many had been either too shy or too comfortable in the safety of their home. Ramani was a male who always roamed, always discovering.
"Ah, the same for me," he responded simply as well; was Sarabi another wandering spirit like he?
"I did the same since I've been a cub. There's just so much ground to cover, isn't there?"
And when Sarabi already had an idea in mind for their trek, his eyes sparked with enthusiasm and mirth, chuckling at her words. However, while he was distracted by her suggestion, he had a tail in his face! Surprised, he stumbled some when Sarabi walked to the grassy grounds below. Her sudden offer of a chase made him laugh, hopping down to try and catch up, shouting at her skipping form.
"Hey! I'm the fastest runner out of all my two brothers and sister!" he claimed as he ran, trying to pull in front of Sarabi even though he wasn't sure where she wanted to take them.
"Are you sure you can even make it by the time night fell? I heard girls took a whole day to make it from the dens of Pride Rock to its base!" he teased as he ran, a bit of his still youthful behavior showing through, "If you need help, I'm sure I'll be able to carry you on my back!"

"Really, hm?" She replied to him saying that he too traveled a lot when he was younger. She was surprised to find another who was similar to her in that way. She still very much liked to wander but she was much less likely to wander around out of the pride now. She was pretty excited to be able to wander around the pride and the different areas of the pride. She was very excited for this that was for sure, and on top of that at the second she had some one to wander around the pride with. "So much to see, but I think I'm pretty happy with settling down here and seeing the new sights around the pride." She said simply gazing around at her surroundings.
Sarabi pushed her way quickly through the grasses, she was hoping that the male kept up, she liked to move as quickly as she could at moments. She stared forward mostly as she ran however she glanced over at the Ramani as he spoke to her. "Really?" She questioned to him saying that he was the fasest runner of his siblings. "I run faster then my sister." She called back to him as she ran however she knew that she had a bit of a upper hand and that was that she was going a certain way and she was pretty sure that he couldn't rad her mind, she could go where ever she wanted to at this second. But she wasn't going to do that she ran straight to where she was going. "I'm pretty sure we can make it!" She called back with a laugh. "I don't think I'll need any help, you might though!" She called back to him moving as quickly as she could, not even because she wanted to get there quickly but for the amusement, and the enjoyment of the cool wind at night.
It wasn't long until they were approaching the watering hole and she slowed, looking back to see how close behind her he still was. It appeared as if he did a pretty good job keeping up with her that was for sure.

He could say that this Sarabi was a wild one, though of cousre there were crazier ones in the swamp where he came from, and yet, there were milder ones. He wasn't sure where he would place Sarabi amongst the females he had met in his lifetime, but it was a nice medium of all the personalities he had met. And at least she was more fiery than the calm, golden hued girls of this pride!
He smirked to her return tease, managing to set a pace right beside the female. After all, he wasn't lying about how fast he ran - perhaps it was in his blood, but he sometimes liked to think that his speed made up for some of his size, as he wasn't the biggest male in any pride. Still, he was good enough, and definitely not smaller than any of the females he had seen in the Pridelands.
He enjoyed this run, even though there were scarce words spoken through it - the wind whipping, the feeling of the moving grasses beneath their feet - this was something for which Ramani lived. He noticed slowly when she began to halt, stopping a few feet in front of her.
"Whoa!" he shouted instinctively, almost tripping over a log before him, as he was distracted with keeping up with Sarabi the entire time.
He tied to suavely compose himself, stepping over the log and looking back to grin at Sarabi as he went forward through some tall grasses to see a hint of water in this clearing. And it definitely was a watering hole. He couldn't tell if he had been here before, though, as he just went to the nearest one whenever he needed, never checking to see if it was exactly his favorite or not - perhaps he just wasn't accustomed to the land enough to call one his favorite.
"Ah, you make for a good leader," he commented to her, "Just what I needed!"
As he said that, he pounced towards the water's surface, thrusting his head down to take a small drink... Then, playfully, he turned behind him to look at Sarabi and swept one of his paws to scoop the water out to splash on her.
"Hah!" he laughed in good spirit, knowing he made a quite bold move to play with Sarabi.

Sarabi slowed a little more and let Ramani go in front of her, trotting very happily behind him. She flicked her tail behind her and stepped over the log and then turned toward him as he started to talk, he followed him to the water's side and lapped up some water, wanting to refresh a little after the run before talking. "I do?" She asked Not that sure of what she thought about what he was saying or if she thought it was true. She didn't think that she was going to be a good leader. She had really never lead many things in her life other than games. She was pretty sure that it wasn't big enough for her to compare to leading other things.
She flicked her hair out of her eyes as she turned toward him as she did she felt the splash of water hit her face. She was surprised, very surprised. She wasn't expecting the water to hit her face, she wasn't angry. Not at all she knew the lion was playing but she was figuring out what she was going to him. she laughed before starting to move her paws forward in a gallop of sorts, she then launched herself at the male attempting to knock him over, trying to pin him down as she did. They were in the shallow parts of the water and she knew that he couldn't get hurt but he could get wet. She giggled as she did before bounding off of him and then a little further into the water. A smirk was on her lips as she did, she felt proud of herself.

It was just like Ramani to keep a lady hanging in question - unfortunately, his thirst for new wonders and adventures often left a few back at home wondering what his next move or action would be. Some of this even prompted the ladies to do something in retaliation. His silly smirk was still on his face, even watching Sarabi survey the scene and wonder what she could do back at him. He was confident that she was too meek to do anything, but would get proven wrong.
He angled his head, both a little amused and confused at Sarabi's sudden rearing, and then he realized what she was about to do a little too late - she had already gotten up and was running towards him!
The next thing he knew, he was in the water he had been drinking from, off of his legs, with a swimming Sarabi wandering away from him. He rose a little more to the surface, shaking some of the water off from his mane and face. Boy, did she have some power.
"I didn't deserve that!" he shouted after her, adding a smile to her smile and trailing after her dark form in the water.
He was used to moisture, really. In his old pride, there were a few pools in which he would lay in whenever he was not running about the lands. It seemed that this girl was evidently decent moving in the water, too.
"Ahh, the water feels so good here, even at night," he commented on the slight warmth it had because of the season, "You were right. This place is nice."
Ramani would have to make note of where this was so he could visit it again. Seeing it for the first time was rather pleasant. It was almost as pleasant as... seeing Sarabi for the first time. Still, he needed time to truly figure out what this dark lioness was all about, and so he basked in the silence for a bit, just enjoying that he was in the company of another soul.
