The male strode out on the grassy field mirrored by the darkening sky. Night had fallen across the land again, and it was his favorite past time to come out and watch the stars. It was a meditation thing for the stallion, though he began to wonder if others did something like this. There were times where he wandered the lands at night and saw no one else out except for the stars.
Well at least he still had them. His dark eyes gazed upward, tail flicking behind him as he strolled, hooves gently kicking up the dirt as he went humming to not only himself, but the stars. Oh how he loved them....

Estrella had been laying down, not a thought of sleep crossed her mind as she sat there atop a small hill, where she was closer to the night skys. She watched as some stars moved and some stayed nested in their spots where they appeared every night. Her eyes gleamed as they watched the stars, and her white mane and tail seemed to glow from the light the stars and moon gave off. She sat there, thinking of how many worlds there could be out there. Stella was smart when it came to knowing things of the night sky. and she only loved to ponder more about it. Tho, her thoughts were interrupted by a sound, It sounded like a Hum. She was aware she wasn't alone on the face of this place. Her ears stood on attention, and she looked towards the sound. Tho is was slightly dark, she able to tell It was a strong stallion. And if her eyes were to fail her, her nose wouldn't. And he was beautiful!! from what she could see. He looked almost like the night skies that she admired ever so much. She watched as this stallion had made his way closer to her laying area. She wasn't sure if she should just continue to lay down and let this stallion pass, or make her presence known. She decided she wanted to be known. And with that Estrella stood up, and shook her mane, to wake her body up more from sitting down. She galloped slightly down the hill towards the male. which came to a slow as she got closer.

The stallion's hooves gently pounded against the earth as he walked, flicking up the occasional grass and dirt every now and then. His ears would be perked upward toward the sky, eyes gazing somewhat longingly. He stopped for a moment to take in a breath, closing his eyes as if to imagine that he had wings and he could soar into the sky to be with the stars he so desperately longed for.
His nostrils took in more than just the night air, however, as another scent surrounded his senses. It was earthy much like his, but there was a strange sweetness to it. A smell of...Shadow had to open his eyes to gaze forward trying to find the source. It was getting dark, but he noticed a silver tendrils of hair on a dark body of a mare. But what attracted him the most was the faint sparkles of stars on her...well rump and legs. He tried to keep his attention on her eyes as she got closer, however, not wanting to appear rude or perverse. Her eyes even gave off a gentle twinkle of the stars, and immediately Shadow began to wonder where she had come from. But of course he didn't need to be that forward. They were only just meeting after all and to do so would be childish and irresponsible.
But he was thankful that they did in fact meet. He didn't feel so strange anymore now that he met another with star markings such as he. The stallion took a breath giving a humble bow. "A beautiful night this is, my lady, but I have never seen such beauty until now. It is without a doubt such a pleasure and a privilege to cast my unworthy eyes upon your grace." Shadow's voice wasn't low as one might think, but there was a masculine sense about it. It was soothing even much like the whispering winds.

Stella had came to a complete stop, as the stallion spoke. his words reaching her ears, which were well spoken and had an edge to them that can make anyone stop in there tracks. Her ears perked up, surprised to hear such intelligence from the male so suddenly. Her silver eyes watched as the male bowed in her presents. This action only made her stand straighter, taken aback some. Tho, a smile played upon her lips. How wonderful to know there where still males who knew manners. "a beautiful night it is. . ." She said with a sweet voice. She didn't really pay much heed to his complements. instead, she walked around him, taking in his beauty. Unaware if her actions where rude upon the male. Her silver eyes counting the stars she saw on him. Not including his eyes, that seemed to beam. She then stood in front of the male, making eye contact with him. Giving him a smile. "i must say, stallion, that you are quite a sight! my, even almost as beautiful as our night sky." She gave out a slight giggle. Surprised with herself to say such things to a stranger. Tho, she looked behind the male, to see if there was others with him, only to find he was alone. "Alone?. . .where is your herd stallion?" she asked, with her ears at attention. tilting her head with such grace.

Shadow was taken aback by her chilling, gorgeous voice. He would definitely remember how it seemed to chime in his ears as his eyes took her in. As she strode around him, he stood a little straighter with his legs slightly wider apart as if to display himself fully to her. The stallion wasn't exactly obnoxious in his appearance, but he wasn't modest either. If there was one who wanted to look at him, why shouldn't he allow that one a chance?
He stole a whiff of her scent again as she turned the final circle as if memorizing that as well. Shadow's eyes soon met hers with a gentle confidence, a smirk on his own features. "My lady, I am taken aback by your words. I thank you for such the compliment, especially from one such as you - another star child." He gave a gentle whicker as his nostrils flared again to steal another smell. He noticed the tilt of her head behind him and turned quickly wondering if there was something he didn't see or notice. He was quite curious as to what she was staring at. An oncoming suitor perhaps? Strange how he had yet to think that this mare was not taken for why shouldn't she be?
At her question, he gave a brief snort. "Aye, m'lady. No herd to speak of for me. I am but a loner content on traveling until my day's end. But, I do have the stars to keep me company." Shadow looked up toward the sky as if to reiterate his last statement. And it was a fact that Shadow was quite comfortable with ever since he was a foal. Now that was a thought he didn't dare think about now. "What of you, if I may ask? Are you..'alone' as well?" His head turned back to meet eye contact again. It was respectful after all.

Stella listened to the stallion, as he spoke. Never seeming to get enough of his voice, and still words. He was indeed one that matched her mind. One star child. Tho, she herself has never been called that by any other then her past mother and father. Being called so made her smile with delight. He heart fluttered slightly at those words. tho it was his other words that ringed in her head. 'a loner content on traveling until days end?' she pondered that for that awhile. Was this by choice she wondered. Did he get lonely as such as she at times? but the male looked up, with a longing look in them as he gazed upon the night sky. This making him more beautiful to the naked eye. The stars keep him company as well?! this made her excited. But of course they did! what star child would he be if they didn't. She kept her excitement bottled up. Afraid to show the stranger herself. She was a cautious one, and calm at that. Her ears perked some, and made eye contact yet again, as he turned his gorgeous head to her for the attention he needed. Tho, she gave him her dazzling smile. "I cant say i'm alone. . .because i have much company. but i have no herd." It was her turn to turn her gaze on the stars, making her silver eyes illuminate in the lighting. "my herd is much different. . . " Her eyes focused on the stars, making it all to clear that she spoke of the stars as her herd. Tho, she shook her mane, almost to get her of a trance, and looked yet again at the stallion. " You have a name i'm sure. .?" she asked, in a cute sweet bubbly way. She did want to know his name. For calling Stallion all the time, would be much to rude.

His head tilted in question for a moment, as she spoke of a herd. But didn't she just say that she was alone? It took him a moment to register her words and he only fully understood whens he looked up to the sky - the stars. Ah. Shadow understood now. She saw the stars as more of her herd whereas he saw the stars as simply company never daring himself to be counted among them, even as far as calling them his 'herd'. The mare was confident, he would give her that.
At the question of his name, he snapped back to attention gazing toward her a moment. He never really had a name per say, but he had a title that he was called. His tail flicked as he looked away slightly caught between keeping it simple or telling her the truth. He took a breath looking across the lands for a moment before turning his attention back to the mare. "I... It's Shadow. You may call me Shadow, m'Lady." His voice was steady and eyes soft and gentle though on the inside he was wracked with pain. Such a question was never an issue for anyone else, but for him it was a constant turmoil and reminder of never being named by a caring mother but rather a group of hateful strangers that he called home at one point. "May I be blessed to know your name, Lady Star?" He moved himself in an effort to stretch his body from the stiffness of not moving, as he now had his side facing her, his head still turned and locked to gaze into her eyes. Such gorgeous eyes...

Estrella kept her starry gaze on the male. Tho when the stallion had told his name, she couldn't help but hear a ting of sadness, no. . not sadness, but emptiness lingered there instead. shadow? it was name that told many stories. It was a name that carried mysteries, as well as this male. a name she could remember easily, which she liked. Stella wasn't good at remembering names. "Shadow, a name to remember well!!" she smiled, and lowered her head slightly, as she gave Shadow a slight bow, as to meet his acquaintance. As she stood straight again, she came with her name. the way this male spoke with such grace, made her think he was from a well family. His properness was starting to make stella blush with a slight. "i am Estrella, tho some call me stella." She could tell, the stiffness in this male as he stood yet. She smiled at that, and walked to his side, taking some steps ahead. " would you like to take a walk with me, shadow?" She knew he was to polite to say such things, such as he was getting stiff, and needed to move. So Stella had came up with a plan, to take a simple walk. And why not? Shadow was taking a night walk before he ran into stella. she couldn't take that away from the him.

Shadow was slightly surprised at how she seemed to grow attached to his name. Something so dark and hideous and ill-brooding...but it was memorable - she'd give him that. He gave a bit of a whicker in response to her charming words trying to be thankful that she at least took it in the opposite direction what many saw. "Estrella...the very name of the stars...such a beauty that can only match you and nothing else." Shadow cooed out gently giving a more cordial and deep bow so that his left front leg was bent in against his chest and his nose almost touched the ground. The stallion righted himself so that he may gaze at her once more, his bangs hiding a little of his forehead and left eye.
"A walk would be pleasant. I must say I am...restless." He felt embarrassed to admit such a thing. "It's not that I don't enjoy talking to you, Lady Estrella..it is just I tend to wander and my body tends to make me wander." Shadow gave a sheepish nicker of an apology. As she cam ever so closer to him, he felt his breath stop short in his chest. She moved with such grace and poise! Sure she was a child of the stars! He nodded toward her to lead the way as he turned his body to follow walking beside her and yet and a respectful distance away. They had only just met after all. "Tell me, Lady Estrella, if I may ask...what brought you here on this night?" He was often curious about those who may have premonitions or listen to star speak such as he. It would only be too perfect if she were one of them.

It didn't surprise the mare when shadow knew the meaning of her name. Her silver eyes watched the stallion with much like, as he bowed again. By now, she could have memorized the back of his head, by how many times this fellow bowed. She gave a small smile. as her heart fluttered slightly. Every word this male spoke, was a perfect piece to a puzzle. so it seemed to her. She took some steps back from Shadow, giving him the space he needed, and gave a flick of her small silver tail, and a twitch of her ears. it was normal for one to wander, and be restless. she gave a slight giggle. indeed! as she was too. She moved in a way, as to let Shadow lead the way. As she moved in gracefully manner, as she answered Shadows question. She wasn't sure what the meaning of this question was. And perked her ears back some as she thought. "it were my hooves that brought me here." tho she paused in steps, and words. " but. . .there was also that feeling i get. Where as i need to fallow the moving stars." they had kept moving, every night. The ones that were in the sky. She felt it her. . .job to keep track of them, to make sure these stars that move wont lose sight of her.

He gave a slight grin watching her as they strode in momentary silence. Even though he had asked his question and she was taking a while to answer, he didn't feel at all in the least bit slighted. She was still here and they were on the move with the stars. He absently looked up toward them for a while before she finally answered him. He looked over toward her with a quizzical expression before finally understand what she meant. "Ah. I understand." He stopped and waited for her for a moment wondering what had made her cease movement. The second part, however, put more pieces of the puzzle down. Shadow looked back up toward the stars searching them for a moment before back to Estrella. "Do you think that maybe they have the urge to move just as we do? I have noticed that during different times when the world is changing, the stars become different in the sky. I see it as them conversing with not only each other, but us and the earth we live upon." Shadow turned yet again back to the sky feeling a small wind come through. The night was starting to wane as he noticed the sky becoming a little brighter. "Ahh, alas. It appears we will soon be leaving the stars to their slumber. Father Sun will reign the skies once more." Shadow gave a sigh before looking over toward her standing a few feet away with his gaze seemingly stuck on the mare. "Are you all right, Estrella? I apologize if my curiosities brought you ill of mind..." Shadow moved a little closer as if to get a better look at her face and expression. It would be rude of him to meet such a lady as her, and then hurt her feelings on purpose or not. It wouldn't be good on his conscience.
