「Chase Forrester」
.....................╭↘╯

As far as Chase's parents were aware he was back at school, restarting his final year. But the reality of the matter was that Chase was sat on a small bed aboard the SS.Anne feeling a little motion sick from the unsteady rocking of the luxury liner sailing over some of the more choppy waves of the journey. Had it been Chase's choice he'd have taken the fast ship to Kanto which wouldn't have involved an overnight stay. But he had to make do with what was available to avoid being found out.
Chase emptied the contents of his bag out onto the bed. Along with extra clothes and snacks, Chase had a mini laptop, a pokédex and a pokégear that he'd not had time to put on when he got up. He refolded his clothes and put them back neatly in his bag, he was trying to free up some space so he'd have room for some of the things he'd most likely be acquiring on his journey.
Chase reached out and picked up his laptop he pressed the power button, thinking that he might as well brush up on his studies to kill time. After a moment, when nothing happened, Chase tried the power button once again.
"What's wrong with this thing?" He asked aloud turning it over to make sure the battery was still properly attached. With a shrug Chase put down his laptop and instead reached for his pokédex. He flipped it open and up came a warning screen. 'Battery low'
"What's up with my stuff?!"Chase yelled at his pokédex, shaking it. He reached out for his pokégear to check on that too. As he picked it up he noticed there was a trailing silver thread, he held his pokégear up higher and noticed the thread went back on itself. The pokégear bleeped in complaint of a drained battery. Chase quickly turned the Pokégear over to find a tiny yellow spider sucking the power out of his pokégear.
"HEY!" Chase yelled angrily and shook his pokégear vigorously to rid the bug pokémon from his possession.
The joltik fell from the electronic device and landed onto the bed on it's back with it's little legs flailing in the air.
"Damnit." Chase moaned.
"Don't you know you have to pay for power outlets on this ship because little power suckers like you?" Chase asked the pokémon who had now stopped moving.
"Hey? I'm talking to you!" Chase yelled, but it seemed the pokémon was out cold. Chase pulled a pencil out from his bag and used it to poke the fainted pokémon. The joltik stirred but barely.
Chase picked up his pokédex once more and dismissed the low battery screen and looked up joltik.
"What's a Unova pokémon like you doing here anyway?" Chase asked as his pokédex confirmed this was a pokémon that was native to the distant region.
"So you need static electricity to be sustained huh?" Chase said, more to himself than the pokémon.
"I guess you've been running on low for a while, since these boats have 'anti pest' measures, you haven't been able to spark up eh?" Chase closed his pokédex, which then promptly died anyway.
"Wait here okay?"Chase opened his room door and wondered down the hall, heading for the ball room. It was lavishly decorated and people would soon be gathering for dinner and dancing as the day was coming to an end. Chase ducked behind a huge plant by the doorway and when the people dressing the tables were looking away, he snatched a pearly white balloon that had a silhouette of the ship printed on it.
Safely back in his room Chase found the weak joltik had sucked the rest of his pokégear dry of power. He sighed deeply and grit his teeth, trying to contain his annoyance. The joltik seemed to pick up on Chase's feelings and back away from the device looking somewhat fearful.
"Look I'm trying to help you out." Chase said presenting the balloon. He sat on the floor and started the rub the balloon against the carpet. The static caught the joltiks attention and it lowered itself to the floor on it's silky thread.
"This may take some time." Chase sighed as he got rubbing.
*POP* Chase snapped awake as his face hit the floor. It was dim and
the sun was setting. 'Did I fall asleep?' He wondered to himself as he pulled his head up off the floor and peeled away some broken rubber from his face.
"Joljol!" Chase heard from the bed, he looked over at it and found himself eye to eye with the joltik.
"Feeling better now are you?" Chase asked.
"Joltik!" It seemed the joltik agreed.
"Great, now skedaddle" Chase said waving his hand towards the door.
"Joljol!" Joltik replied and jumped onto Chase's shoulder and ran round his back to his other shoulder and back again. A few rounds of this and Chase pressed his hand to his forehead.
"Looks like I made a friend." He sighed.
