Reisx had been good on her word, good with her actions, her help with Cellen getting away from hte humans, the cages, the fights and the collar. They had escaped in the night and come to lay in wait in the underbrush to rest a while before moving on further. But, she had woken up earlier than him and was pacing not far from where she assumed he still slept.

She was worried, how much did he know of her life there?

Did he find anything else out while he was there?

There were some things she didn't want him to know, but some she did that she had not had the time to explain yet before he was captured and forced into the ring. She bit her lip, then licked it wondering how to go about explaining things, perhaps he wanted to know why it took her a little while to come back.

She didn't want to tell him she had to heal...she didn't want him to think her weak.

Reisx had been pushed too hard as a fighter, and because of it, had endured some of the worst training from her master, the extra days hiding in the brush gave her time to let the muscles heal so she could run and plan as fast as possible.

With Rylis' help of course.

She had to bring Cellen to him to.

What to do, she wondered pacing, what to do.

The sound of paws panicked with a continuous pace caused Cellen's ears to swivel slightly. His ocher orbs flickered tiredly while he sluggishly seemed to claw onto coherency-- battling to awaken from slumbers grasp. A slight groan escaped from out of his maw as a rumble thrummed from out of his chest. He hadn't a damn clue of what was happening although a strange sensation lathered the air thickly. The former fighter laid on his side and exhaled deeply. His head, ever so slightly, pulled up from off the ground.

"What the hell are you fretting about. It's too early to fret--come back to bed." his gruff tone etched against the early morning with both concern and a light wariness. Emotion, perhaps, was both an invaluable insight to ones cognitive thought along with being a stumbling block.

Although she was somewhat elusive and rather reserved, Cellen loved her. But damn she could be a handful yet, on the other hand, he wouldn't have it any other way.

Splayed out in disarray, Cellen gathered his bearings and rose up to lay upon the ground in a more dignified manner. A yawn escaped from his maw before his jowls gave an audible clap as it shut together. The former fighter wrinkled his muzzle and scrutinized the female.

"What's on your mind?"

So much.

But where to start?

She drew in a breath and came close to him, leaned on his shoulder and blinked, silver eyes searching her surroundings for some kind of significant answer, some hint to help her. But she received no clues.

"I feel-" she began, then she stopped, tried again, "Did I-" no, not a fine start either. She snapped her jaw shut and mentally berated herself, how hard was it to say, how hard was it to make sure everything was...ok? That was wasn't mad for what happened.

Her ears fell back a little, her eyes on the ground.

"I feel like...I disappointed you...taking too long, to get you," she said it, and turned her head a little, she was ashamed it took so long for her wounds to heal. She wanted to retrieve him so much, but her body ached from the pain inflicted upon her.

She didn't want him to see her weak.

She was a hardy, spitfire, but to Cellen, Cellen was...freedom, life, fresh air, and she didn't want him to feel like she tainted what began by delaying.

Cellen snorted as his ears cocked forward, swiveling as a wry grin etched itself upon his maw. He knew, perhaps better than anyone, that life often preferred the unexpected-- there was no set agenda, no structured itinerary, whatsoever. "Yeah, I've heard that before," he jokingly retorted. "Listen love, I don't give a damn about the time frame. All that I care about is that I'm here--with you."

His words were bore a forwardness that had no room for bullshit. A sharpshooter who was both blunt and brutally upfront. And while his boldness could be overbearing, there was a part of him that was compassionate, devoted, and somewhat protective.

Cellen had his reasons but, perhaps, such reasons were better left unsaid-- at least, that is, until it was appropriate. And now was not the time.

"You gotta stop being so damn hard on yourself, love," he added. "If you keep beating the s**t out of yourself, you'll only fall deeper into despair. Hell, you're strong and you don't even recognize yourself as being such. And that, Resix, is something I won't let you fall victim to. If you saw yourself in the way that I see you---you would never think less of yourself."

Reisx listened to him, and then gave a smirk. She drew in a breath and stood, and crossed the ground in fornt of him, letting her head slip under his chin, her tail touching under his nose and then pulling away, "And what, might I ask, do you see?" she knew what she saw in her reflections, her past, her history, but she rarely saw the here and now. She often, though, dreamed and saw Cellen in pools of water when she let her mind at ease.

She grinned, crouched and let a soft croon escape her mouth, "Big, bad, Cellen sounds like he is going to try and teach me a lesson," she said, trying to initiate play, "however," she said, pawing at him, "I don't know if you can keep up," she gave a wink and then took off into the underbrush.

Time for a little game, she thought, time to make it interesting.

As she brushed against him, the wings of his nostrils flared. Cellen inhaled deeply, allowing her scent to latch onto his olfactory receptors. A rather amused rumble thrummed from out of his chest although the sensation was short lived as the female parted from him. The male scrutinized her for a moment before a wry grin spread across his maw with a subtle presence. "I see my partner, my mate, and the Mokai that somehow convinced me to spend eternity with. Although, sorry to say it love, but you got the short end of the stick having to be stuck with me," he stated, matter-of-fact. A musing laugh added, "And I hear there's no refund or exchanges. A damn shame, huh?"

His ears perked forward. Oh, he knew exactly what she was up to. The large feral fighter rose up to his paws as he cocked his head slightly, arching a brow upwards with an inkling curiosity.

"From what I hear his lessons are relentless, brutal, and biased. You may want to consider taking a crash course if you want to pass," he teased. There was a depth to his voice that was elusive, rugged, and yet sought to bait her into his own trap. Two could be tricky although, now, it was a race to see who could bait who. A sly curl tugged at the corner of his maw as the female pawed at his face yet he remained immovable; watching her speculatively as his lips pursed inquisitively.

He didn't flinch for a second as she darted---rather, he willing waited several seconds if only to give her a head start to give her a false sense of hope that she'd be victorious or, at the least, in the lead.

seconds after, the black Mokai meandered towards the thick underbrush crouched low.

This was going to be interesting.

Reisx ran ahead, her breath even in her chest as she moved quickly. She knew his slightly longer legs would have an advantage, as would his knowledge of the area. But she grinned as she ran, she would try to make this last as long as possible.

A lesson, hmm?

She wanted to teach him a thing or two.

As she an, she then began to dodge from root to root, trying to keep herself light on her paws, striking down only where it was damp so her scent would not be heavy and possibly cast away by the wind.

Yes, she could do this.

But, she also knew, it was merely a matter of time before he found her.

He waited a minute or two before there seemed to be enough time to lapse between the initial chase. A wry grin etched itself upon his maw as the large, black Mokai sauntered around the entanglish brush and thickets. Those tumultuous roots created a rather cluttered conundrum whose foliage fingers ensnared those who so much as fought through its veil of voracious vines. Cellen had no doubt that the female would find her way although, for his sake, he'd rather not risk getting caught by his horns.

The snake-like pathway deadpanned into a bouldered blockade and it was only a matter of time before the feral would find herself at wits end, so to speak. Walking alongside the incarcerated enclosure, Cellen's nose gave a slight twitch.

"You may want to take a right," he called out. "If you take a left you're not going to get too far....hell, you'll be stuck there and then I'll have to come get you. And, honestly, I'll probably won't be a damn bit of help."

With the trail slick and the scent of the soft terra underfoot, it could only make for a sticky situation. He waited intently, listening for the rustle of brittle leaves or for the snapping of minute twigs and branches. Yet silence remained to fall between them. The feral fighter's eyes leered into the brush beside him with unrest.

"Reisx..."

As she went she heard him call and as the earth under paw became hard and cold stone she came to a stop, looking before her. True, she could go left and then try to double back and go passed him, but then again, what fun would that be? Grinning she went to the right and into the underbrush, maneuvering to settle herself well within the confines of a vine-encompassed area.

"Can't find me, Cellen?" she baited, waiting for him to come a little closer.

Today would be games, tomorrow, she wanted to show him something special, but it wasn't for today, no, she smiled, she had other plans.

"Find me and I'll give you a surprise...maybe, unless you take too long," she wanted to tease him then with a name, but held back. She didn't need to be an annoyance, but a flame, an everescent burning fire for him to follow.

"Cant' find you? I can smell you even from behind those damn vines and underbrush," he retorted, somewhat amused at her persistence in drawing him in. It wasn't that he was stubborn--well, perhaps that was partly the reason--as it was more so that his horns would be the perfect object for those vice-gripping vines to latch onto. And hell, he wasn't in the mood for games. He was opting in for a day of rest. And yet she continued to bait him.

It was starting to etch away at him slowly and exposed the competitor nature that was buried deep inside of him. Cellen fiercely clenched his jowls as he snorted, stamping his right forepaw onto the ground much like a young pup preparing to engage in a tantrum of sorts.

He sighed.

"Surprises are always dicey, let's just cut to the chase." And, with that, the feral fighter began to chew his way through. Literally.

His powerful jaws crushed down onto the entwining veil of veins while his head thrashed from side to side. Occasionally, the male reared back onto his hind legs and thrust himself forward to break down the barrier between them. A fluffy of claws and teeth seized every obstacle while his body squeezed and maneuvered itself through the openings he created. He was relentless. Perhaps even hellbent on siphoning whatever sleep he could obtain after he had achieved the requirement set before him by his mate.

Cellen was close. As he tore at another area of vines and thrashed his head he suddenly felt himself jerked back as his fear had then become an unfavorable, tangible reality.

He was caught in the vines.

"GODDAMNIT!"

Reisx's eyes widened as he began violently thrashing at the veins? Was he...not in the mood, for chase today? She tilted her head, ears flicking, and she stood, watching him as he seemed to eagerly attempt to get at her. Had she done something to..make him mad, for this? She huffed and watched, and when he got stuck, she had to bite her lips to hold in the laughter that wished to burst from her chest. Her heat was beating fast and she calmed her laughter, her breath and walked forward, snaking through the veins towards him.

"So feverish today with your antics, Cellen," she said coming up in front of him, she touched her body against his just slightly so as she walked to his side. She trailed her tail under his chin, "Just be still," she said softly, in a tone she only used with him.

As she came to his side she balanced her forepaws on his back and began tearing the veins away from his horns. His were not built to go into the thick underbrush while hers worked just fine.

"There," she said pulling back, smiling, nearly smirking, a flash of mischievous behavior in her eyes, "That all you require today, hmm?" she asked with almost a soft purr/croon in her throat.

The day was not over, and she knew her adoration...no, her love for Cellen would last every day of her life.

She smiled at him then, content, at last she thought, I'm home, at last.
