She almost, almost, went to his doorstep and left a nice present for him. Reisx had also almost gone through his trash, dragged it to his stoop and ripped it apart for the stench to fill the air to match her old master's personality and temperament. But no, she was here, just beyond one of the fences that had a small hole dug underneath i for her to utilize for now. She was still seeking any kind of supply or food that would be of use.

Besides, those in the settlement owed her, least, for what she suffered by the hand of the cruel two-legger that had caged her and fought her like some sort of mindless beast.

Reisx was unafraid, but stuck to the shadows alongside a brick building so that she would blend in better and keep a sharp silver eye for any passerbys.

Yes, she would wait, and hopefully find something of use.

Imnir had FINALLY convinced Naomi to let him stay outside overnight again, and now that he was out he wasn't going back to his home until the sun was rising. He was pretty sure he could pile up some rocks on the outside of the fence so that he could get back in the same way he got out. Sure, Naomi might get suspicious and get upset with him if she found out, but he had to get out of that little yard. He made a mental note to be more careful in all of his future fights so that Naomi would have no reason to keep him confined ever again.

"Now... Where to go?" He mused to himself as he walked along, limping ever so slightly on his right hind leg. It was healing, but he wasn't about to push it too hard. Not because he was afraid of the pain or anything, but because if it took any longer to heal than it needed to he might just go nuts.

He eventually wandered in the direction of the market area, deciding that if he could find a tasty scrap or two while out on his little adventure, he would. No point in wasting good meat just because it has a little dirt on it, right?

A soft padding of paws caught her attention as she waited. And an unmistakable clinking noise that made the fur on her neck bristle, her jaw clench, and a snarl almost erupt form her throat.

However, when she saw it was another Mokai walking, alone, at night, she let the snarl subside. She did, however, notice the chain that hung around his neck.

She didn't like it one bit.

"Out for a stroll?" she called from the shadows, unmoving. Her eyes watched him, caught his limp and she smirked, "Sure it is safe for you out here all alone?"

Imnir's ears perked up slightly as a voice caught his attention, and it could only be directed at him. He turned in the direction of the sound, not immediately seeing who it came from until it spoke again.

"Yes, I am out on a stroll." He said calmly, striding up to her and trying not to limp too much as he did so. Not that it really mattered now, but he still had his pride. "Lovely night, wouldn't you say?" He sat a few feet away from her, puffing his chest out a bit and causing his chain to jingle lightly with each breath.

"Well," He laughed a bit, "Maybe not as lovely for you, little shadow. And certainly not as safe." He added as he noticed her lack of collar. She didn't belong here, and if she were caught by a human she wouldn't have a choice but to stay unless she managed to escape. "Tell me, do you think it's a good idea to be somewhere so dangerous all by yourself? For me it's one thing, I live here and on top of that I'm more than a match for anything that could come my way, but you... Well, you don't look like much, sweetheart."

Reisx watched him and as he continued to speak her hackles rose and she rose to stand on her paws. She removed herself from the shadows, walking up to him, making direct eye contact, holding her tail high to assert her position between the two and smirked, "I left this place once before," she began, "I only came back to see what I could take for myself."

She nudged passed, her shoulder purposefully thrusting into his somewhat, on the injured side of his body and she smiled.

"You're a fighter aren't you?" she asked, but she didn't wait for him to answer, "I was a fighter too. So don't think you can use words to assert strength with me pet."

Imnir chuckled to himself, "How cute." He said in response to her obvious little challenge. Fortunately for him, it was his back leg that was hurt, so he hardly noticed and even pushed back a bit.

"Pet!" He roared with laughter, "Now that is good. I haven't heard that one in a LONG time. You know, ever since I proved that I'm the best this whole island has to offer when it comes to fighters." His face suddenly became serious and he made sure to hold his gaze steady, locked with her eyes and completely unwilling to back down. "You used to be a fighter, but couldn't take the heat, so typical." He sighed, sounding disappointed, "Probably for the best though, wouldn't want to ruin your pretty little face fighting with the big dogs." He let out a low growl at the end of his statement.

"Now why don't you run along back to your little hole in the ground or your tree or where ever you came from, before the big mean scary humans find you and make you pay for being such a disloyal and useless Mokai."

"The best?" Reisx said snapping her tongue, narrowing her eyes at him. "The best wouldn't have a limp, now would he?"

The next words he spoke made her blood run hot, the fur on her neck bristle, and her eyes glared at him, ears back, tail raised, chest puffed out.

She snarled at him and walked right up into his face giving him no breathing room.

"Big dog? Your nothing but a pup in my eyes," she snapped her head back and then forward, smashing her muzzle into his face, nose-punching him. "What I couldn't take was when my beloved master used one of these against my back," she snarled grabbing his chain collar in her mouth, tugging it tight and pulling it forward to jostle his footing a little. She yanked hard and then let go.

"I hope you stay a big dog so your human never raises a hand to you, or a chain, or starves you. My human lost my loyalty and obedience when he turned into a beast. I'd rather be seen as useless by you than abused by his hands again."

She pushed passed him and began heading for the gates to the outside, her mind reeling. She was riled up enough she wanted to go to her old master's home and show him how beastly and disloyal she could be. But no.

Reisx turned to look at the unnamed fighter who challenged her so, disrespected her so, and she let her lips curl and then fade.

"As a fighter, you should know when to show respect and show decency, you shouldn't lower yourself to their level."

Imnir let the her first comment roll off his shoulders without so much as blinking, but he was surprised at the ferocity she showed when recounting what had happened to her before. This one had spirit, he'd give her that if nothing else.

"Typical feral, so envious of what the rest of us have." He spat, biting at her as she dared to touch his beloved chain, "Yeah, you got stuck with a bad human, so what? You just give up like that? Every Mokai I know has a loving human who would never bring us harm. You can have your spite toward your old master, but don't you dare suggest that Naomi would do such things." His voice rose to a shout as he went on, infuriated. No one spoke about his Naomi that way and got away with it.

"And as a feral beast, you should know better than to show your pathetic face around these parts." He growled. He had had enough of this. It was time to pull out the big guns. "And what if I were to raise the alarm, hunt you down alongside these humans and bring you back to where you ought to be? Hm?" His tone was icy as he made the threat. "You'll want to make sure you never show your sorry face around here again, because next time I won't be so accommodating."

"Envious?" Reisx let a laugh escape her maw. She did not let any sign of weakness show with his bite, but he had a good pair of canines she would give him that. "I knew the world beyond the gates before I was brought here. My escape and aid of another escaping only proves the incompetence of the race you hold so high above you. Your like an omega, but one who has lost respect even in oneself that you go running back to your alpha human like a scared pup. You're pathetic, not me."

She snarled at him, watching him, silver eyes ablaze.

"You, hunt me down? Pfft, I'd like to see that. And even so, if they did bring me back here, back to that crazed two-legged inhumane beast, then I would hope he would pit me in a fight against you, so I could show you where you rank. I'd make you roll over boy, and let your own ego weigh you down on your back for everyone to see."

Reisx smirked at him, "You empty threats mean nothing. I hope someday I do come across you again, and you won't be so lucky. I'll look forward to it, omega."

She turned from him then and disappeared back into the shadows. Letting her slender, lithe body move through them with ease and then out the gates again into the wild.

She felt good, and needed to tell Cellen of her new 'friend,' she had some planning to do.

Imnir bristled, barely able to contain the urge to not only attack her, but maybe even kill her right there. In his mind he told himself that her words meant nothing, but he couldn't help but be infuriated by them. What did she know? She was just a coward in the shadows, unable to handle things as simple as humans. She thought that he held them high above him, but she was dead wrong. He saw them as equals, and Imnir himself felt that he was better than most humans, but then again he thought he was better than just about everyone.

"Yes, run away little shadow." He sneered as she left, "I'll see to it personally that you are kept in chains for the rest of your days if you come within my territory again." He was pretty sure that he was just talking to himself at this point, but his words dripped with malice all the same.

With a look of pure, savage anger plastered on his face, he headed home, suddenly not so eager to wander the streets for fear that he might take his anger out on an innocent bystander.
