This is where we will plan and set up for the Halloween Event. Since we don't know the theme yet, we will have a few set-backs in planning. I'm hoping to have an RP the entire time in the thread with a bit of off topic conversation mixed in since we had such fun with it in the annual balls. Let me know your thoughts. I've already thought of a fum game that can run throughout the background, and here it is! heart

Lucky Pumpkins
- Everyone will roll 10, 10-sided dice. Any sum ending in 7 is a winner.
- If a person wins, they get to smash a pumpkin to see if there is a prize inside.
- To be eligible win, the person must have won doing more than bumping or posting a random emote.
- There will be 3 October MCs mixed in as well as the new Halloween EI. All other pumpkins will have 5k gold in them.
- There will be 25 pumpkins total, each with a prize corresponding to its number.

Green had suggested riddles, and I think it would be great to have a riddle a day. Depending on how hard it is, we will give either the first winner or all winners a prize.

So, if we were to do an RP, who would be up for doing it everyday?

Getting into the Halloween spirit?

How about a role-play incorporating Ravenwood Manner,
if it hasn't evolved already yet?
We'd have a lot of "props" so to speak to work with,
like the scary house, the family graveyard, the mirror, the young man's study,
and whatever else appears with the evolutions.
If someone could donate a Ravenwood Manner, that would be a cool prize.
Though I don't know how you could have someone win at role-playing. xD

We could give away one as part of the Lucky Pumpkins game that I talked about. Of course, we could always change the theme, but keep the gameplay dynamics. I actually artially pstole that idea from Poy. lol

This orange-and-black avatar is actually one of my tamer Halloween ones.
I definitely pull out the alter-ego this season with spooky and goth stuff that I wouldn't normally like.

I wish we knew more about the main event, though, so we could incorporate that,
but now, as I'm thinking about it, there will be plenty of event-inspired role-plays,
so it will be good for VG to stand out.

I like the smashing pumpkins idea. It's a change from bobbing for apples,
and I can see people having a lot of fun with the "smashing" part. c;

They can smash them just like watermelons. blaugh

Here's the Ravenwood Manor updates all in a nice neat list. It's completely up to us how closely we stick to it though.

Mathilde had been found as a young girl, wandering the streets alone with no memories besides her name. Given the traumatic state she was found in, everyone assumed her parents had died a tragic death. She then spent the next 10 years living a dull, solemn life in the orphanage. But today, her life will change forever as she awakens and finds an ominous letter under her door:

"Dearest Mathilde,
I've finally found you again after all these years. I'm happy to tell you that your parents are still alive. In face we're all having a marvelous time here. Why don't you come join us again at Ravenwood Manor so we can all be together again?
Mister Jackdaw"

The letter from this mysterious Mister Jackdaw frightens her but she decides to seek out this Ravenwood Manor. Perched upon a small hill, far from civilization, Ravenwood Manor looms darkly. The house lies in shambles: windows are shuttered, the paint has long ago faded and the front yard doubles as the family graveyard. Every fiber in Mathilde's being tells her to run away and never come back-- yet she is inexplicably drawn to this house. Something seems strangely familiar and if it holds the key to her past she must enter the manor to find out.

Mathilde reluctantly enters the foyer of Ravenwood Manor and is overwhelmed by a rotting smell. She then spots an elaborately framed family portrait to her left. The figure seems very familiar to her but it's hard to make out the details with layers of grime coating the painting. As she turns around she swears that the portrait's eyes move. Frightened, she dashes into the first room on her right which appears to be a gentleman's study...

In the parlor of Ravenwood Manor, Mathilde feels as if someone-- or something-- is watching her and rushes out of the room. She hears a voice whispering her name and follows it up the manor's grand staircase. As the lone light in the hallway flickers on and off, she sees a gruesome pile of old medical instruments, stained and rusted with blood. The whispering is coming from a room at the end of the hallway, but a door to her left catches her attention. Somehow it seems oddly familiar...

Is it just me, or is anyone else expecting Mathilde to find out that everyone in her family are birds? I mean RAVENwood and JACKDAW? Those are both birds. Or, maybe it's a motif. confused

Oh boy, I'm expecting them to change her into a bird in the end!
