This was great, just great, he had won his first official fight, been on top of the world, and now he couldn't leave the yard. Naomi was so worried about him over a couple scratches and a pulled leg muscle that she might not even let him fight again! The almost wild looking Mokai had spent his day so far pacing along the fence of the yard, glowering at the closed gate and snarling at any creature that came near him, other than Naomi.

Well at least he was finally out of the house, if nothing else.

He huffed and stared up at the fence. It wasn't particularly tall, and if not for his hurt leg he could easily jump it, but he had already tried that and failed miserably. That was probably the only reason that Naomi let him out here in the first place...

"This is so BORING!" He barked, beginning to pace once again, shaking his head from side to side and causing his collar to make a bit of a racket. "I'm a fighter, not some pet... There must be some way out of here..."

Seven was... healing. Luckily for her, none of her injuries from the fight had been anything too permanent, and even the hardest hits had manifested themselves as nothing more than ridiculously sore bruises. The worst of the wear and tear was her injured foreleg, but after several days of stall rest, Devin had allowed her to wander again with a thick gauze and bandage for protection and support. It meant that she had to carefully watch where she was going and to place, and then walk on the leg, but she felt herself mending. At least there was that.

She had slowly wandered her way to an unfamiliar section of the compound, and there, she bobbed by Imnir's house. So focused was the Mokai on where she was going and placing, then walking that she failed to see her former opponent until his voice rang out.

Looking up and pausing mid-place, she scanned the area for the source, and a small smile came onto her face when she recognized the other Fighter. Why she was smiling was anybody's guess; after all, he had just pummeled her in a fight several days ago. "Why hello," she said softly. Her voice had a low huskiness to it that sounded beautiful and mature, but had less-than pleasant origins. Nobody was sure where it had come from, but Devin suspected it to be the nasty reminder of some sort of accident she had had as a pup.

Imnir snapped to attention at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, wait, maybe not... He spun around to face the source and was surprised to see that while the voice wasn't immediately able to be placed, the Mokai standing on the other side of his fence was none other than the female he had beaten in a fight the other day. Perhaps that was why her voice had a faint familiarity to it... He had heard her small yelps and growls occasionally, but she had said nothing.

"Well look at who it is." He smirked, "I see your leg is still pretty messed up. Not that I'm surprised, you fell right into my jaws and you are just so frail." He teased, as if trying to bait her into coming over the fence without revealing that he could not do the same.

"But don't feel too bad about losing, honey. You went up against the best there is and that's just not fair." He flicked his tail to one side and sat down in order to keep from revealing that he had a limp in his back leg. All of the scratches and bruises that she had left on him were minor enough that they could no longer be seen, so he was confident that he could bluff his way through this without being caught. "After all, I don't have a scratch on me." He lied, "Tell your trainer to match you up against someone who won't pummel you so badly next time, we wouldn't want anything bad to happen, hm?"

"Hm," she smiled demurely and sat, mirroring his stance as she curled her thick tail carefully against her. A sound, almost like a purr, slipped from her muzzle as she licked her lips briefly, staring through the fence at him with a certain, inexplicable light in her eyes. Her expression was a mask, not quite readable, as she tried to place him within her grand scheme of things.

Her grand scheme of things, because she had yet to figure out where exactly he lay and what an affiliation with him could do to benefit her. There had to be some way in which he could be useful, so she would cultivate the relation regardless, but before she went much further, she would first figure out why it was necessary to do so.

"Well, I wouldn't feel bad losing to a big, strong Mokai like you," she purred with a careful shrug, slate gray eyes tracing the lines of his muscles and observing the new additions to his head and back. Those ram horns were impressive, and they would prove to be useful weapons the next time he went back into the pit. She would have to be careful of them if ever they came head to head again. "I like those horns, soldier," she added. "Won't you come over so I can admire them up close?"

Imnir tilted his head at her for a brief moment. He wasn't surprised at what she had said, he was pretty impressive after all, but the fact that that she would say that after being so determined to win during the fight was another thing. Well, maybe she had learned her place finally. The first of many to learn that Imnir was not one to be taken lightly, but to be respected, admired even. He sat up even straighter and gave her a sly smile as he watched her eyes wander to his muscles.

"Smart girl." He said with a nod, "No shame in losing to someone like me. If there were anyone other than me who could even come close, that is." He smirked. If there was one thing this Mokai loved more than anything, it was being admired, especially by a pretty little thing like her. She wasn't a match for him in the ring, but she was certainly a beautiful Mokai, if a little roughed up at the moment. Still, once that leg was good as new, she'd be back to her perfect looking self, he was sure of it.

"They are pretty nice, huh?" He turned his head slowly from one side to the other, displaying them fully but being careful not to move from his spot. "Can't see them well enough from over there, sweet cheeks?" He laughed, "You were so nimble and quick in the ring I would think you'd have jumped over here yourself by now. Come on in, I give you my permission to enter my territory." In the back of his mind Imnir knew that Naomi might not like that, but he was not about to move from his spot unless he absolutely had to. The risk of her noticing his leg if he did was too great.

Well, if he was going to invite her in. Seven was the last Mokai to refuse such a blatant invitation. It had always been a point of worry for her handler; Devin fretted that she was going to get herself into some sort of trouble - namely, stuck with unwanted puppies - someday. And who could blame him? Still, he seemed to have resigned himself to the idea that she could exercise caution.

She eyed the fence above her. It wasn't all too unmanageable. Perhaps just a tad tricky with her leg in a bandage. Her gaze settled on a trash can lying nearby. Ah. Making her way over, she hopped up onto the lidded can, tucking her hind legs under her to steady herself, and then leaped for the fence, hooking both forepaws over the edge and pushing herself up with her hind legs. Up and over.

She took a moment ease the stiffness out of her injured foreleg, watching Imnir from across his yard. If he thought that she hadn't noticed how still he was staying, he was either a fool or she had lulled him into a false sense of security. Seven hoped it was the latter. That was kind of the point of all this, anyway.

Huh, climbing on top of things to get over the fence with a bad leg... Imnir decided to keep that idea for later, when he wanted to get out himself. For now though, he was just enjoying watching the not entirely graceful, but still effective, attempt and success of the rust-red Mokai to get over the fence.

"Well done, for a Mokai with only three good legs." He nodded his approval. "I'll have to move that trash can sometime so that not just anyone can get in." He hesitated for a moment, his pulled leg twinging from him being bent so long in a sitting position. Imnir stood up and stretched as casually as he could, as if he were really rather bored, making sure to stretch the bad leg out nice and good.

"So, what brings you to my corner of town?" He asked, laying down on his belly and resting his face on his paws, his hind legs outstretched behind him. "Don't tell me you came looking for me, did you? I'm flattered if you did, though not really surprised." He let out a single bark-like laugh at the thought. "I can't blame you, it happens all the time. The little lady Mokai just can't resist me. It really is a bother sometimes."

She also hoped he wasn't a fool. A little too big for his ego, maybe, but that wasn't such a big deal. She even liked a little cockiness in a male. There was something about that whole alpha male deal that was... intriguing. She didn't dare say more.

"Hmm," she chuckled, glancing back at the trash can. Kid's stuff, really, but it was impressive on three legs, she'd be the first to admit that. She moved a little closer, watching his every move as he rose to stretch. Hm. "It's a neat trick," she agreed. "I could teach you a thing or two about... tricks." She gave him a pointed sideways glance, even as she slunk right up and curled her way around him in a tight circle, eyes roving over every inch of him but with particular attention to the horns on his head. Her tail followed, a feather-light touch trailing suggestively along his side before she snatched it back and curled it around her once again.

"Well, I was looking for something," she said after a dramaticized pause. Not necessarily him, but if he wanted to keep her attention, she was all for that.

He scoffed, "I'm sure you could teach me all kinds of tricks." He said with the slightest hint of flirtatiousness in his voice, though it may not have been intentional. He was enjoying this more and more each moment, but he didn't want to let on just how much he liked it. He was too studly and masculine to go all head-over-heels for some Mokai so quickly, no matter how pretty she might be. Nope, gotta keep the cool dialed all the way up to eleven for now.

"Then again, you may have noticed I'm not much for tricks." He said with a laugh. "Maybe that is why I won and you lost. Raw power is hard to beat with a few sneaky moves." He rolled his shoulders in a lazy sort of shrug. "But if you feel like it, I won't stop you from trying to teach the big dog a new trick."

"Well if you were looking for something around here that isn't me, you aren't looking for the right thing. I think we both know I'm the only thing worth seeing in these parts. Well..." He paused and looked at Seven for a moment. "Maybe not anymore now that you are here."

Ugh. So much for that. Oh well, just change the subject. "You know, I don't think we have been properly introduced." He lifted his head from his paws as he spoke, "My name is Imnir."

Ah, he was reacting. Something to note, though she would wait until she was out of sight to let the smug grin settle upon her muzzle. Reaction was a victory in and of itself. Not that she wouldn't have persisted, even if he hadn't seemed to respond. It was fun, something of a sport with her, and it in no way hinged on the male's reaction. It was just more fun when he did.

"Hm, I'm flattered," she smiled again, blinking slowly. As if she didn't already know that, but she was glad he noticed it too. Seven was definitely worth seeing, if not more than that. Much more than that, actually, if she had her way. And usually, she did. If her feminine charm could move a big, macho male like him (even if he was trying not to show it), what couldn't it do?

"Nice name, soldier," she purred as she rose and gingerly stepped over his prone form. "Seven," she offered, sounding half distracted, or maybe even half disinterested as she positioned herself on the side with his suspicious leg. "Speaking of tricks..." She grabbed his horn in his muzzle and yanked, throwing her weight with the intention of putting some stress on that funky-looking leg of his.

You couldn't blame a girl for wanting to know what was going on.

Imnir chuckled to himself. She should be flattered to receive such a high compliment from the great and powerful Imnir. Especially considering the fact that she was the first to get one in, well, longer than he could remember. Maybe ever. This girl was worth hanging around with, if not worth fighting in the ring.

"Seven?" He flicked an ear and looked confused for a moment. He had never met a Mokai with a number for a name before, but he decided not to ask. "Interesting. Kind of fits you though. Seven is a lucky number after all, and you're one lucky lady to have gotten on my good side so quickly." He involuntarily let out a small purr, but stifled it before continuing. "If anyone messes with you, just let me know babe. I will take care of 'em for you, no sweat." He flashed her a charming smile barely a second before she latched on to his horn.

"What are you doing there, little lady?" He growled, jumping to his feet and growling even more loudly as his hurt leg protested with large amounts of pain. He shook his head from side to side as hard as he could in an attempt to fling her off, using his bad leg for support despite the surges of pain that came from every movement. "You need to be either in the ring with me or ask pretty please if you want to touch the merchandise."

Ok, he couldn't take it anymore. Once he stopped his shaking he lifted his bad leg up slightly to relieve the pressure. It wasn't worth it, he would just have to make up some story about it instead.

This Seven girl was turning out to be more trouble than he thought.

Oh, wasn't he adorable, wanting to keep her safe. And wasn't that a nice smile he had there. She had a split second to admire it before he jumped to his feet, and... ah-hah. So there was something going on. It was enough for her that she knew, and that he knew she knew. It wasn't that easy to slip something by Seven, and the sooner he figured it out... well, was it better for him? She wasn't sure. Maybe he would have preferred to remain in a state of ignorant bliss.

She released his horn, satisfied now that she had seen what was up, and made her way back over to his good side. Maybe she figured that he didn't need her on his bad side, pointedly watching his injured leg. She wasn't here to deflate his ego, after all.

She slunk up to rub herself up against his chest as she passed, tail tickling the underside of his chin, the little episode with the horn apparently forgotten. "I'll remember to let you know, the next time I've got a pack of wild Mokai on my tail," she said with a smile and a slow lick of her lips.

Why that little... What was she playing at? Imnir eyed her carefully for a moment before speaking slowly and deliberately. "Fine, fine, you caught me, little minx." He sighed, laying back down carefully so his leg would quit hurting. "After my fight with you I had another one with a different fighter. Big guy. Not as big as me, but big enough that I managed to hurt my leg when I took one of his hits." He lied, doing his best to be convincing. He wasn't a great liar, but when it came to preserving his image he could usually pull it off. "I still won of course, but... Look, don't go around talking about it." He glanced around, trying to look nervous. "It wasn't exactly... Authorized, if you know what I mean. Wouldn't want my human getting in trouble, you know?"

'Please, please, please buy it...' Imnir thought to himself, hoping that this story would be enough to keep him from having to admit what really happened.

"Now, about those wild Mokai." He changed the subject again, trying not to seem to obvious about it. "I'll beat them all in to the ground if you bring 'em to me, or show me where they are, but try not to get in that much trouble." He winked, "Some of those wild ones are mean, and they won't go as easy on you as I did. Might get hurt worse than you are already."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:12 pm

"Mmhmm," she allowed, almost indulgently. Sure, she could believe that. She could believe anything to his little heart's desire. "Was that before or after you sprouted those horns, hm?" She reached to nudge the closest one. They would certainly be something to look out for. A blow intended for Imnir's face could have nasty repercussions if he but dipped his head and answered with his horns. Mental note made.

"And do you, ah, do a lot of these illegal fights?" She added. An unreadable smile lingered on her muzzle that could bode well or badly for him. It could be a risk to answer, but just as big of a risk not to.

She laughed, and settled back comfortably on her haunches. Try not to get into trouble, indeed. Imnir wasn't the first to tell her that, and no doubt he wouldn't be the last. Of course, she hardly listened. Some could even say she was trying to get into some sort of trouble right now - or tempting, anyway. Seven just called it fun. "Don't you worry about me, soldier boy," she said with a wink. "I'll live, promise you."

"After. And no, I've only done the one so far." His tone was even as he began to envision this made up fight of his. The more he could get himself to believe the lie, the more convincing he could be. "Then again, I plan on doing more." He flashed her another smile, "No pain, no gain, right? Naomi is going to use some of the cash I earned from it to get me some even more nice additions that I can use in my fights." It was true that Naomi had been talking about getting him another appointment for injections that would make him even more lethal, but the truth was that she had the money already.

"Oh, alright. I suppose I can do my best to put the worry aside." He smirked, "But I can't promise anything. Just make sure you pay me a visit every once in a while so I know you haven't gotten eaten."
