 Lusala took his sweet time getting a long drink from the water hole. He enjoyed watching the other denizens of the rogue lands. Some were paranoid (most of the time, rightfully so), some were oblivious, some were chatting animatedly with friends or family and others were alone like himself. He licked remnants of his drink off his whiskers and took the opportunity to wash his face of the dust that seemed to be a most constant companion.
Thinking of companions, Lusala hadn't actually spoken to anyone for a few days. Hard to believe, but he just hadn't seen anyone interesting. Maybe one of the loners at the water hole would be interested in a conversation on the herd patterns or something...

The shade of the tree over the watering hole was where she made her roost for now. Below were others and prey. She was hungry but right now that could wait as it was only a slight feeling. Sethunya looked down at the water and the few creatures that lingered beneath her to drink and she struck up an idea. Now she was not one for pranks but to scare prey or others would be to much to pass up. So she lept from her perch to the water below, giving out a roar as she did it.
As the water splashed up the sun glinted against the drops and around her, making her the spotlight. Already the water felt good on her paws in the hot African sun, so instead of hopping out she just let herself drop into the water, creating waves. Like a cub she rolled around for a bit before getting out and shaking off the droplets. Now she looked like a soggy leopard.
"Not the best plan I've ever had..." She whispered.

Lusala was about to be minding someone else's business when there was a roar and he was quite suddenly drenched. He blinked in surprise. What the...? Oh, leopard. Typical, they tended to be trouble makers (not as much as hyenas though, or cheetahs... wait...).
At least the water felt good but now his mane was plastered all over his face. He couldn't help but chuckle as he attempted to get the dark hair under control. "Excuse me, please do be more careful next time." He called to the female only to get hit with yet more water droplets as she shook herself free of some of the water. When he saw her looking soggy too he started laughing out right. "Oh my, you got me again." he let her know as he pushed his mane back yet again.

The leopard turned to spy a handsome lion, drenched like her of course, but still the water suited him. "The soggy look suits you, makes you look more, regal." She chuckled. "I had to. Boredom set in and it was the perfect opportunity. I don't do this very often mind you so when the opportunity arises, I must snatch it." Smiling sincerely the green eyed leopard moved to take in as much sun as possible. "Seth." Putting a wet paw out, "You?"
This lion was interesting, a gentleman it seemed. "It is a good way to cool down though." The femme offered.

"Regal, hm? Amusing, my mother had a gypsy soul. Hardly regal. And I understand completely now, if I must be drenched, at least it assuaged your boredom!" He smiled at the pretty leopardess. He reached his own larger paw out to touch hers. "I'm Lusala. A pleasure to meet you, even if you did come with a tidal wave."

"The tidal wave was a bonus Lusala." Giving him a flirty grin and a flutter of her eyelids, "What's wrong with gypsy blood?" His paw was quite warm and so much larger than hers. "I like gypsies." Gosh he was a gentleman. At least there were a few good creatures out there. "You always come to this watering hole?"

Lusala laughed at her flirty statement. Bonus indeed. "The problem with gypsy blood is that wandering paws come with it. This is my first time at this watering hole, I don't have a steady home, I wander like my mother. But I don't mind the wandering, I've met many interesting people. Seen many interesting places. And made many friends. It's always better to leave friends and allies behind you, then enemies." He smiled at her, it was a nice change to be flirted with instead if initiating the flirting. How novel. "What about you? Is this your home waterhole or are you searching for a permanent home somewhere?"

A wandering lion gentleman, now it was more intriguing. "I travel about, looking for the best pickings. Either hunting grounds or something like this. To have this you're set until someone bigger comes along. But as is..." she skittered away from him and back in the tree, "lions can't climb trees so seems I'm queen of this watering hole." She grinned at him, "I can't have too much competition here." Still flirting with the male.

"I wouldn't say 'can't' climb trees. Just that we lions are generally too big and heavy to handle them well. So my queen, now that you rule this watering hole, what are you going to do from your tower?" Lusala was amused. It wasn't like he could beat her paws down if she was on the ground. And it was true that most lions didn't climb trees after they reach a certain age, just because they were too big and heavy for it to be an advantage.

Seth looked at him, he referred to her as Queen. Playing up on her good side it seemed. "I'm going to observe from here. Unless you are my knight in shining armor come to whisk me away and show me the world. Or I could splash you again. You're standing in the perfect spot." She gave him an innocent smile and eyed the water and where he was standing. "Ready to get drenched again Prince?" And she jumped, once again drenching both of them.

Lusala had another good laugh even as his mane covered his eyes in wet straggles. "You just wanted to see me all wet again." What a forward leopardess. It was novel and rather amusing, usually he was the flirt and he wasn't that picky about partners either.
He wasn't opposed to traveling with her for a little while. It'd be nice to have some company. "If you'd like to travel about with me for a while you're more then welcome, Seth." He gave his mane a good shake and tossed it out of his eyes. "I'd enjoy having you along."

She grinning, shaking out again to get him soggy once more. Now she was laughing, "Such a big lion looking small without the puff of his mane." Pointing at him as she laughed, then she was serious, "I would enjoy accompanying you Lusala. You can even protect me from all the scary monsters out there." she grinning, still being serious.
Prancing around him she smiled, "Well?" She said getting antsy to get on their way to whatever wonders awaited them.

"I thought I looked 'Regal'." he teasingly retorted and started his mane management again. Really, had covering him in water again really been necessary? Ah well, there was always the next watering hole for revenge. Or at least there was when you were going to be traveling together.
"Scary monsters hm? Well I guess I can help you with those. Don't think I'm doing all the work though. Queen of this watering hole you may be. But out there? You're just Seth."

Already she liked this male, he'd be great company with their wanders. "A regal wet lion." And with that she launched herself at him, though not to attack instead she jumped -- it was more like soared -- over him and was already waiting for him to catch up.
"Come on now Lu! If you don't catch up I might nab the next watering hole before you do." These travels were going to be interesting. "Or I might get the best kill in a hunt since I'm hungry."

"Lu..." He shook his head, what a crazy leopardess, what has he gotten himself into? "Let's not make everything into a competition you crazy girl. Working together can make getting food so much easier..." He suggested as he started catching up. This was going to be an interesting ... period of time. He wondered how long they'd stick together.
