Case Files are planted in random threads and can be recognised by the above picture, which will appear in the thread's first post. When clicking on the picture you will be directed to the KARP Case Cabinet, where you will find details including where the case takes place, which NPCs are involved and what rank you need to be to activate it.
No matter which Case File you activate, you will always take on the first open case on this list, being flown to the case's location (and returned to your current location once the case is finished) by the attending NPC if required.
You may only activate a Case File if:
- you have been accepted into the KARP during a Team Rocket Event.
- your rank matches or betters that given in the Case File description.
- you are posting in the thread in which the Case File appears.
You may activate a Case File as part of a group so long as all participants meet the requirements laid out above.
Achievable ranks within the KARP are as follows:

Recruit:
Every trainer who has been accepted into the KARP starts off as a Recruit.
Recruits wear a bronze badge and are not considered full members until they are promoted.

Member:
Once promoted, Recruits become Members of the KARP.
Members wear a silver badge and are taken on more important - and dangerous - missions than recruits.

Representative:
Successful Members are promoted to be Representatives of the KARP.
Reps wear a golden badge and only answer to a handful of senior figures.
Above Reps there are International Police Officers (IPOs), Leaders and Elites, but these ranks are not attainable by regular trainers. Only IPOs, Leaders and Elites can give out promotions. Promotions are awarded on the strength, number and length of posts by the trainer, as well as the trainer's attitude, work ethic and battle results.
When choosing to activate a Case File you must PM one of the admins to let them know, so that they can post as the NPC. Once they have done this, the mini event will begin.
Posting for the case should be done in case thread, much like for TREs, except that everything that happens will be a part of your main storyline.
In order to successfully close the Case File you must work with the NPC accompanying you. Together you will find clues, face challenges and ultimately take on Team Rocket.
Different cases carry different rewards, but all rewards relate to the next Team Rocket Event after the mini event. Some rewards will see the levels of all grunts' pokémon reduced by five, some will allow you to bypass all grunts and executives, allowing you to challenge the agents first and others will allow you to head straight for the executive. All of these rewards will better your chances of scoring more points during TREs and thereby give you a better chance of placing first in the main event.
