Crossword puzzles -- When she's waiting for more work to do at the office, Menthe works on crossword puzzles. It started with the newspaper ones but due to sheer volume she buys books of them now. She enjoys the solitary tranquility of the process and the challenge.
Fine dining -- One of Menthe's secret pleasures is dining out. She especially enjoys fancy resturants with a quiet and relaxed feeling, where the servers are polite and refined. She also enjoys staying at inns and hotels on weekends and ordering lots of room service. It's mostly about the relaxing atmosphere but she also likes to try many types of food.
Reading facts -- Menthe enjoys reading nonfiction books, especially things like World Records, random facts, and survival guides. She loves to learn new interesting things and likes the logicalness and simpleness of facts over colorful stories of fiction.
Virtues:
Accomodating -- Menthe is a definate follower and because of that she's very happy to go along with what other people want. She's very nice and sweet and tries to accomodate what other people want or need ahead of herself. Her perfume is too strong? She'll immediately go wash some of it off. Need an extra pencil or a recomendation for a nice resteraunt, she's your girl.
Responsible -- Menthe is responsible when it comes to her job and life in general. Bills are paid on time, deadlines are always met, and she's already stocking up a small savings for the future. She believes very much in work before play and isn't the sort to goof off. Even in the office setting she isn't the sort to waste time with gossiping and watercooler talk, nor does she surf the computer for her own interests. Need someone to rely on to drag you out of a paperwork pickle? Menthe is so far ahead on her own stuff that she has plenty of time/energy to help you with yours.
Careful -- As a timid person and a little bit of a worrywart Menthe is very careful about getting herself in trouble or putting herself in bad situations. Her words are carefully selected to be polite and nice in attempts not to offend or incite anyone. She's also very cautious about dangerous situations. She's never done drugs and she's very cautious when forced to go out at night. Even silly stuff like always making sure her shoelaces are tired before going onto an escalator is commonplace for her.
Flaws:
Timid -- Loud noises make her jump. Assertive, aggressive, or crude people make her cower. Menthe is just one of those people that is easily startled, rattled, and scared. Always a follower and never a leader she is also a bit of a worrier, and often gets her own self worked up. Her purse has mace, a whistle, a window smasher, but in truth she'd probably be too terrified to ever use any of it if the situation ever arose to use them.
Doormat -- Without an aggressive bone in her body Menthe allows herself to be walked all over. She's never really stood up for herself, and even when other people do it for her.. she always falls back into the same ruts. You need to borrow money again for lunch? She needs to work after hours again this week? Even when it puts a strain on her Menthe is unable to say no to people.
Soft spoken -- When face to face with someone else Menthe can get very quiet and physically withdrawn (she'll avert her eyes and shrink in on herself). She a very quiet person and usually won't speak at all unless pressed and when she does speak it's muttered or otherwise very quiet. It is not uncommon at all for her to need to repeat herself over and over, which only makes her feel that much more flustered and uncomfortable.
