((The soquili seen in this RP are: Unenlagia, Daimhin, Carmilla, and Svanbjorn! All belong to me!))
Unenlagia smirked at his tusked wolf familiar. The green wolf had just emerged from the undergrowth with blood fresh on his muzzle. Unenlagia inhaled deeply. It smelled like... "That was an unlucky rabbit," he said with some unpleasant amusement. It wasn't big prey, but it was hard for one wolf to take down something larger. Unenlagia knew what it was like to be a lone wolf. It was only recently that he found his "pack."
Tkashi didn't answer. He often didn't say much, unlike other familiars that Unenlagia had met. Unenlagia was fine with that. He wasn't exactly the chatty sort himself, so they got along well. He was adapting better than he had thought to being around other soquili constantly, though. It undoubtedly helped that he was the official leader of Mahapadma when the skinwalker wasn't around, but he didn't find the other soquili as intolerable as he had thought.
Even now, he heard the approach of another soquili. His ears pricked and he instantly recognized the sound of the hoof falls. It had to be Daimhin. He was the only one in their group large enough to make that much sound walking around.

It was no coincidence that Daimhin found Unenlagia. He had been brewing an idea all afternoon and was soon itching to talk to his superior on the subject. He was determined to become Unenlagia's second in command as soon as possible... and more secretly determined to take over Lagia's job not too long after that. He just had to show their skinwalker boss that he was more valuable than Lagia. He doubted it would be that hard.
Daimhin strode confidently into view of Lagia, only sparing a brief glance to his blood splattered wolf. "Hey boss!" he said by way of greeting. "Any new word yet from the skinwalker?" Though they all knew her name to be Samsara, it wasn't often that the Mahapadma members called her that. It seemed too informal somehow... and when someone said "the skinwalker" there was never any question about which skinwalker was being referred to.

Daimhin. He had been correct. Unenlagia didn't particularly enjoy talking to the gray stallion. He was obviously a conniving liar which made puzzling through to the true meaning of what he said somewhat difficult at times. There was that, and he hated looking up at Daimhin. Lagia was a little smaller than normal soquili height which meant that he had to spend a lot of time looking up at other soquili. He hated having to look up at someone who was supposed to be his subordinate. It always would subconsciously put him in a bad mood when talking with Daimhin.
"No word from her, no," he told him shortly. Their master had been missing for over a week now. That wasn't particularly noteworthy. She only really stopped by to check to make sure they were all still there, or occasionally she'd give them an errand or a mission to carry out.

Daimhin shook his mane out, disappointed. There wasn't much point to all his maneuvering if the skinwalker was never around to appreciate it. He liked trying himself against Lagia but she was the real test. He wanted to impress her, to make himself indispensable. He smirked before remembering himself and making a slight effort to appear less smug.
"Too bad," he said. "But that doesn't mean we should just sit around doing nothing. There are plenty of missions we could run while she's busy! In fact... I had an idea for one that I thought we could try." Would Lagia accept his suggestion? Unlikely at first... but Daimhin wasn't about to let him off easy if he tried to dodge it.

"A mission," said Unenlagia flatly. He watched the gray stallion with obvious distaste that seemed to be ignored by his conversation partner. "Is this anything like the mission you planned last week to kidnap that family that you didn't inform us were wind soquili?" He gritted his teeth at the memory of that fiasco. "I'm not interested in another hunt that ends up with our quarry flying away laughing at us." Only one of their group could fly with great prowess and one wasn't exactly enough to capture a group.
"Have you already run it by the others?" Unenlagia didn't exactly like Carmilla or Svanbjorn but they were leaps and bounds less irritating than Daimhin was. They had plenty of intelligence and sense between them, they just were lazy and couldn't be bothered to use it most of the time. If Daimhin fed them some idiot idea, Lagia was certain it would be cut down.

"Did who run what by us?" asked Carmilla archly as she strode up to the two stallions. She knew very well who was talking and what they were talking about but she still demanded an explanation from them. As she stopped walking she looked at her translucent wings with great scrutiny. She made a show of flicking imaginary dust off of them before turning to face Daimhin and Lagia again.
"If I am being talked about, you do know that I like being involved." She gave them each a disapproving look. The stallions of Mahapadma thought that they were tough and dangerous but she had them wound around her hoof as easily as if they had been foals. She had found that if you show a stallion even a little charm that they fall over themselves to please you. That was what worked most of the time, anyways.

"Carmilla, dearest," drawled Svanbjorn, following her and then taking a place at her side. "I do believe that those two were attempting to have a conversation. It's terribly rude to interrupt them, you know." This was the little game they played, both of them teasing at the other in public. Most of the time it was only meant for amusement, though occasionally it could change into true aggravation.
He stood regally and watched them with the bearing of a prince. "Now, if we're bothering you, feel free to ask us to leave." Though the meaning of the words was polite enough, the way he said it had a touch of disdain that couldn't be ignored. "But," he added with deliberate thoughtfulness. "If you are having some sort of official meeting, I do believe we ought to have been invited to begin with."

"Stay!" demanded Daimhin with a smirk. "I was just about to tell the boss here about the new plan!" He hadn't mentioned the plan to Carmilla and Svanbjorn yet but had the feeling they would enjoy it. He felt that he had grown to understand them in the time they had been in their dark herd together. He felt closer to them than to Lagia, at least.
"Anyways." His voice grew lower and more confidential but was still pitched loudly enough so that all of them could hear. "My idea is that we've been going after the wrong people this whole time! We always go after groups or adults, right?" He didn't wait for a reply but instead continued on in his explanation. "I think that what would really be good would be to kidnap... foals." He smiled wickedly. "With foals, we could raise them to be good soldiers for the skinwalker, or we could make the parents pay us tribute to get them back. They're a lot easier to hold onto, too!"

It was about as cohesive a plan as he could have hoped for. Lagia wanted badly to yell at Daimhin and didn't particularly see why he shouldn't. He constantly had to put up with moronic ideas and the failures that they caused if any were attempted. It was enough to make him wish he had never joined this mess of a group and was still alone with Yazhi to keep him company. She had never failed him like this.
"And how are we supposed to find foals?" he quipped. "It isn't exactly breeding season." He looked around at the golden leaves on trees to help make his point. "Any foals we might find at this point would be grown enough to not exactly be the easy pickings that I think you're hoping for." He imagined what it would feel like to take a bite out of Daimhin with a mouth of sharp teeth. It would be amazing, but he wasn't born a kalona like Svanbjorn was. His blunt teeth could only inspire terror of those in the vegetable variety.

"Personally, I don't see that it could be that difficult," said Svanbjorn. There were multitudes of soquili that lived within a few days walk of their location so some of them were bound to have foals at any one moment. "And we don't have 'breeding seasons' either. What do you think we are, weasels?" Svan didn't know if weasels had breeding seasons either but he was sure that no soquili had waited for the proper month if they wanted to have children at that exact moment. It was obvious that Unenlagia had never sired foals before.
"And foals are all idiots," he added. "We wouldn't have to kidnap them, we'd just have to trick them." He had personal experience with this technique. He didn't usually attack those as young as foals, but he'd isolated and murdered adolescents before. Carmilla liked them "fresh from the basket," as she'd put it.

"I could do it," cut in Carmilla. She gave the stallions challenging looks, daring them to say otherwise. She hadn't been exactly the most helpful since arriving at Mahapadma. She had never actually assisted on one of their missions before and had given them nothing but snippy refusals when asked. Generally speaking, she considered all that to be Svan's job. He was the one that Samsara had recruited, not her.
In response to the expressions on their faces she gave a haughty little sneer. "I've done it before, you know. It's pathetically easy to lure them over. All I have to do is shrink to my small size, dance around a little for them, and it's they're hypnotized. They would follow me off a cliff if I wanted them to." What they did always follow her to was into Svan's waiting jaws that would squeeze the life from them. They did make a good pair, her mate and herself.

"See, boss? The plan will work!" Daimhin cackled with delight. He wasn't trying to be belittling to Lagia, only enthusiastic. He didn't bear Lagia any ill will for his snappy temper. Daimhin had worked under soquili with much less savory personalities. He wanted to one day oust Lagia but it wasn't personal. He would have wanted to steal the job of anyone in that position. For once, he wanted to be the top minion!
"What do you think?" he asked. "Go out on some scouting missions first to find who has the foals and then decide which to target?" What he really wanted to do was kidnap the foals and keep them. It would be even better if they were pokesoq foals. He'd have given his ears for a pokesoq foal of his very own to capture and keep. Regular foals would be almost as fun, though!

Unenlagia shook his head with disgust at the plan. He hated every aspect of it, most especially the source it had come from. He'd rather bite off his own tail than listen to Daimhin blither on about it for any longer. "Why don't you three work it out, then?" he asked snidely. "I'll go patrol the area and make sure that no wayward foals have wandered their way in as we've been talking." With that, he turned his back on them and left. He had better things to do with his time.

Svanbjorn arched an eyebrow at their leader's sudden disappearance. He didn't like being snipped at by anyone, whether or not they thought that they were superior to him. He rustled his wings imperiously and barely resisted the urge to snap something rude right back at Unenlagia. He managed to beat back that temptation, but only just.
"Well, I suppose we shouldn't expect his assistance on this mission," he remarked to the others who were still gathered. "Not that we really need four people on something so simple as kidnapping foals." He gave a short disdainful laugh. "Any one of us could probably kidnap one or two. It really isn't terribly difficult."

Carmilla was equally indignant. She and Svanbjorn got angry at generally the same things and arrogant idiots bossing them around was one of them. She flicked her chin up and turned away from the direction that Unenlagia had left in. She was the perfect picture of elite denial of the one that she chose not to acknowledge. "Well!" she stated.
"You're right, Svan," she continued. "His presence was utterly unnecessary." She looked over the two stallions with a critical air. She knew that Svan had the strength and cunning to perform but she wasn't so sure about Daimhin. He seemed like the big brute sort, the type that could muscle his way to victory but wouldn't do so well in stealth or deception. "Do you think you could convince a foal you were friendly?" she asked him skeptically.
