Mission 1: Do ya dig it?
Josey was looking through GRAY, whom she had named Spock, for a mission to go on. She had a particular interest in obtaining an Aerodactyl but knew she couldn’t use the fossilized Pokémon until she reached the next rank on the team. That didn’t bother her in the least though; it was the fact that such a creature even existed that captured her attention.
It had now been a couple weeks since she had stumbled upon Snagem. Not much was really know about her, but she was ambitious and the more she was with the team the prouder of being there she became. Being ambiguous was a big thing with her as well. Everything has a purpose and a meaning, is her philosophy, and discovery is a thing that Josey is most fond of.
“Oh yeah! This looks like the perfect mission! Spock draw up a map for the location of Brock in accord to our current position please.”
“Right away Miss!”
Not only was she into science, but Josey had a bit of a techy side and decided to take the liberty to tweet her GRAY a bit. She didn’t change any of its major programing, but added a bit more personality to the piece of machinery. Her eyes had laid upon the mission for finding fossilized Pokémon. Choosing Brock out of the three respective hunters was a no brainer; for he was the one in the area that contained her key prize.
“Miss Josey, the map will be coming up on your screen now” stated Spock, “As you can see we are not far from that location. Our coordinance show that it is just due south west of here past route 28. You pass through one town and then come to Pewter town where Brocks gym is located. Shall I send a correspondence to the gentleman announcing our travel plans?”
“That would be ideal Spock, great thinking.” Josey placed the device back in her pack as she went to the fridge to get some bottles of water. It was best to stock up before going to the mountains, the dry heat could be daunting if not well prepared for it. Heading up to her room she grabbed her hover board and finally out the giant main door she went. Josey looked back over her shoulder once more at the giant door. I wonder why it is so big, she thought to herself. Shrugging it off, Josey hopped on the board and headed down Mount Silver toward route 28 as was mapped out for her.
*** flash forward to Pewter City ***
About twenty minutes had passed before her arrival at Pewter City. It wasn’t hard to find the gym at all, a massive looking structure built entirely of stone. Not just any stone either, stone with a silver pewter markings embedded all around. As the sun hit certain spots, it would flare up in your face. Josey stood there gawking in awe of the beauty that was in front of her. What a sight to behold. Surely a structure of this magnitude could withstand any natural disasters. A building mighty and tall, exacting power just as the rock Pokémon would demand.
Then moments later startled by a deep booming voice, “Josey! Is that you? So glad you could make it. I received your message in regards to helping on my dig today. We’ve been having quite the trouble with this one group of trainers. Seeing how they use the same type of Pokémon as me and my team, battles have been quite drawn out. So what Pokémon do you carry?”
Josey looked up at the man, how could he have seen me with his eyes closed like that, she pondered a bit. He was rather tall with spiky brownish hair. His stature was manly, what you would expect of a Rock type gym master. He was covered in a fine layer of dust, perhaps from earlier digging. After taking a moment to take in the man’s appearance, Josey grabbed her pokeballs and revealed her small team. “I have with me Bubbles,” who bounced up and down when announced “she is quite the strong little Chinchou, and this here is Pyro,” he blazed up three spears of fire and juggled them as a display “a bit of a show off but cute non-the-less.”
Brock nodded with his approval. He was a man of few words unless he was flirting with the ladies. One would think that would be the case with Josey; however he seemed a bit distracted or was that focus in his eyes. There was no way to tell since he never seemed to open them. “Well shall we get right to it then?” Josey nodded as she followed him to the sites location.
*** On location ***
Upon their arrival, sure enough there was already a peon from Team Eliot there taunting the diggers. Brock looked at Josey, “Well here is your first chance.” He gave her what looked to be a wink, but she was finding it very hard to get a read on his facial expressions. Regardless she didn’t let another moment pass.
“Alright scum bag! You need to stop bugging these diggers!”
“Ha and who’s going to stop me… YOU!”
“That’s right! I am! Go Bubbles!” Josey called out her Chinchou. Geodude was already out and about throwing rocks at the others. It was a slow moving Pokémon, but still equipped with a fist full of rocks you wouldn’t want to be hit by this guys massive throw. “Bubbles Water Pulse!”
Bubbles bounced up to the unsuspecting Geodude before orders were called out for it. With its guard down the pulse of water hit the rocky creature and caused it further confusion. Infuriated the trainer called out. “Rock slide you stupid Pokémon!” He shock his firsts as he shouted.
Geodude just moseyed about as if carefree. “Bubbles knock it out! Use Hydro Pump!” Summoning its power, the little Chinchou blasted the Geodude right into a boulder fainting it. The Peon recalled his Pokémon and fled the scene. “I’m sure that’s not the last of them.” Josey responded.
“Not at all, they usually come in groups of three. I’m sure that was just a warning for the others to come.” Brock stated. “Anyways, this is the dig site, sorry to get you going on a bad start.” He then handed her a pick axe, shovel, and brush set. “These are the tools of the tra…”
Josey cut him off, “Oh I’ve been digging before. I’m quite familiar with how it all works.” She smiled at him.
“Well, then I will leave you to it.”
Josey looked over at Bubbles and before recalling the Pokémon to its ball, she took out some water and drizzled it over her. “Chin chin!” Gleamed the Pokémon in response. The water she had brought was just as much for Bubbles as it was for her. Water Pokémon needed to be fully hydrated at all times. She then recalled the Pokémon and made her way to a spot that looked promising. Calling out Pyro she turned to the little monkey, “Okay I don’t want any horse play right now you got that.” She was using her finger as if to scold, but was merely trying to enforce instruction on the little guy. “I really need you to have my back Pyro. I’m putting my trust in you okay!”
Pryo nodded, hearing the word trust and you was just what he needed. His previous owner was a user and rather rough on him. He really wanted to make a good impression so climbing up on a rock nearby he set his eyes out as a scout looking from east to west. He kind of felt like a meerkat in away, but that didn’t bother him, neither did the heat since he was a fire Pokémon.
Josey took the shovel at first and started to dig into the dirt. She had her googles down over her eyes now so that the sand wouldn’t get in them. Sweet began to drip down her back, but she kept at it. After a few moments she hit some rock so getting the pick axe she started to plug away at it. Dirt spit up into the air, it was just a solid mass of dirt nothing to get excited over.
“Chim chi!” Shouted Pyro. “What is it boy!” The little monkey was now jumping up and down on its rock. “Chim CHI CHI CHI!” Josey climbed up out of the ditch and looked to were Pyro was pointing. At first she couldn’t make anything out, but then she saw something moving in the dirt below. It was gaining on them quite quickly.
Pyro jumped down off the rock just as the Dwebble came up out of the sand landing an attack on him. Doing a summersault in the air Pyro landed back on his feet. Josey was quite impressed “Okay Pyro show your stuff… FIRE BLAST!” “CHIM CHI!!!!” Pyro loved his fire and mustered up a blast spear so large sending the Dwebble flying across the sand.
Just then its trainer appeared. Another Eliot peon “Dwebble smack down!” Chimchar was getting a bit of a b***h slap but that didn’t discourage the little monkey, it actually enraged him because it brought up some really bad past memories. Without a command Pyro stood its ground and gave that Dwebble a fire punch you wouldn’t believe. Dwebble flew out of the sand and landed at its trainers feet fainted.
“Oh that’s not all I have!”, exclaimed the trainer as he called back his Dwebble. “GO Onix!” The Onix slithered out of its pokeball with amazing speed. “Stone edge!!!” Sharpened stones like blades were summoned forth, Pyro dodged the first few, but was struck down by the speed of the final blade.
“Nooooooooooo Pyro!!!” Josey ran to the pokemons side and recalled it to its ball. “Bubbles! You’re up!” She should have known that poor Pyro a fire Pokémon wouldn’t stand much of a chance against rock; however, bubbles was another story. “Rain dance!” Bubbles caused the heavens to open up and shower water down upon them.
“Onix harden!” Onix embraced the rain as it glided over its now hardened body.
“Oh that’s not going to help you any! Bubbles Hydro pump!” Sure enough, with the rain coming down that single blow from the powerful hydro pump knocked the Onix right out.
The trainer recalled his Pokémon. “Oh there is more to come, just wait and see!”
“Bubbles use your aqua ring and heal up.” The rain was still coming down, which made the dig harder to do. All the other workers had tarps up already, they figured once they saw the water type Pokémon that this was something that could happen. Josey then saw an area marked off with a tarp, where no one else was working. She headed over to the spot. “Was this set up for me?” Brock nodded and she just smiled back. Getting her gear Josey went under the tarp. “Okay Bubbles, this rain is going to keep you cool now so please stay on guard. I really want to find myself that fossil. Bubbles nodded “Chin chi!” She went out into the rain and with a look of determination watched carefully for intruders.
Josey set out to digging once more. It didn’t take her long this time to find something. Getting down into the dirt on her hands and knees she carefully dug around this one rock she found. It had some pewter embedded in it much like the stones used for the gym. Taking the brush tool she made a few passes over to rock. Sure enough it was a fossil. With more vigor Josey dug her fingers around it frantically trying to remove it from its graved state. Moments later it was released from the ground and she took it up in her hands. Heading out from under the tarp she let the rain water wash away the remaining dirt so she was able to get a closer look at it.
There within the fossilized areas of the stone she could make up the shape of a wing. “This is it! I foun….” She was holding it up and shouting when suddenly it was snagged from her grasp. “What the!!!” Josey spun around so fast. There she saw the final peon and poor Bubbles had hand, or what would be the equivalent of a hand, of a Shuckle over her mouth.
“Ah what a treasure you have found here miss…”, sheared the peon.
“You better give that back!” Josey went to reach for it, but the trainer pulled it just beyond her grasp.
“Bubbles turn this rain into a storm… Thunder!” Bubbles bit the slimy creature and sent a thunder bolt down on the Shuckle. It skimmed over the shell with little harm. Heck the shuckle didn’t even flinch.
“Hahaha Shuckles have really high defenses, you’re little Chinchou isn’t a match for it. Shuckle gastro acid!”
Shuckle made some pretty gross sounds and then regurgitated a liquid that covered the Chinchou. “Okay now that’s just gross!”, Josey exclaimed. “Attract!” Bubbles batted its eyes at the Shuckle and the shelled Pokémon became enticed.
“Shuckle, don’t let her looks get to you… Wrap!” However, the Shuckle did not listen to its command.
“Bubbles Take down! Just keep going until it faints!”
The battle was long now because of the Shuckles high defense, however it was attracted to the Chinchou not listening to what it was told. Bubbles continued to pound into the Shuckle taking a bit of damage back from the kick back and also the poison. After about the forth blow though the Shuckle finally succumbed and fainted. The Peon was in complete shock at the resilient Chinchou that he didn’t even notice Josey snagging back the fossil. Returning the Pokémon to its ball the trainer just ran off without a word.
Josey then turns her attention to Bubbles. “You were so brave! I’m proud of you Bubbles! I’ll have to make sure to get a hold item for you. Sub still owes me one from the first team mission, I’ll make sure I get that for you before our next!” She gave the Pokémon a hug before returning it to the ball. “Well Brock, I guess that’s all of them today and I found my fossil.” She paused for a moment as the rain stopped and the sun began to blaze down on them once more. “Sadly I don’t have any more Pokémon to battle with me today, but you should be good for the rest of the afternoon.”
“Yes, they only come three at a time so we are good. I’m glad you found what you were looking for and thanks for all the help.” Josey shock the gym masters hand as she got on her hover board and headed back toward headquarters.

Mission 2: Investigative Journalism
Josey was back down in the labs taking some samples from Tritouga now trying to see if she could find a way to revive her other fossil Pokémon Aerodactyl. “Man there has to be some sort of connection!” She was getting a bit frustrated as she wasn’t getting the results she had hoped for.
“Miss Josey.”
“What is it Spock?”
“Well I hate to be the one to tell you this, but not all fossil types are the same. It could be something to do with the trainer or its environment that will have a greater effect on your fossilized Aerodactyl.”
Josey sighs, “I suppose you’re right. I guess I should stop worrying about this fossil and focus more on building up my current team. It seems that we have been having a lot of dealings as a team with water type Pokémon. I’d really like to get a team member to counter act that.”
“That would be quite a wise thing to do. Might I suggest a grass type?” “I don’t really want something that is a single type. I’d like to maximize my teams’ strength and get a good range. Plus I can’t hold many on my team currently so having a dual type would be good.”
“You could go with a grass/psychic type. There might be a number of weaknesses, but if you only plan to use it while in battle against water types then I would suggest to that you get yourself an Exeggcute.”
Josey thought for a moment. “I believe I’ve actually heard of that Pokémon before. Yes, while I was at the Safari Zone getting some plant samples once I ran into one. It was quite the chatter box if memory serves me right.” She looked up the Pokémon on Spock to get a better idea. “Yes this is the one. Well we will need to find a mission that could put me in a spot to get one. Perhaps this time I can catch a Pokémon rather than snagging one.”
Spock checked through the database and pulled up a mission. “How’s about this one,” he pulled up onto the screen a mission on investigative journalism. “Since you seem to love research so much, this might be just the sort of mission for you.”
“Oh Spock, you are getting to know me oh too well”, Josey smiled. “Ah Celebi, now there is a Pokémon I’ve always been fascinated with. Since it’s the same type as the Pokémon I’m seeking, that would be the perfect target of choice.”
“You do realize, Miss Josey that finding a Celebi is going to be quite a challenge?”
“Yes I do know that it doesn’t really have a natural place of origin being that it travels through time, however, it does love the forest so I think if we head to some place like the Safari Zone or the National Park we might have some luck.”
“Luck, now that’s something you’re going to need.”
Josey grabbed her stuff from the lab and headed up to her room. She put Spock back into her pack and gathered up her three Pokémon for the trip. Though having a Chinchou and a Tritouga when hunting for a grass type wasn’t going to be much use, her fun loving Chimchar would be perfect.” Checking once more to make sure she had everything, Josey grabbed her hoverboard and headed out for the search. “Oh wait! I’m forgetting one thing actually!”, she ran back inside and grabbed the camera that she would need for the picture taking.
***Nothing interesting happens while traveling***
Arriving at the Safari Zone Josey makes her way up to the counter. A beautiful young lady with flowing red hair awaits eager to assist. “Hello! Here to try and catch some of our Pokémon? How many balls can I get you today?!”
Clearing her throat Josey responds, “No thank you, I’m actually here to inquire about Celebi, are there any reports of this rare Pokémon being seen here at all?”
Cocking her head to one side the young lady responds, “I’m sorry to inform you of this, but sadly the answer is no.”
“Might you know where I could find Celebi?”
“It’s quite unlikely that you would ever see a Celebi, but if there was any chance of finding one, Professor Aurea Juniper might be the best person to speak with.”
Josey was now the one cocking her head. “Professor Juniper, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of her.”
“You would find her in the Unova region. You’d have to take a plane to get there if you don’t have any Pokémon that can fly you. It’s quite far from here.”
Letting out a big sigh and deep breath Josey thanks the young lady and leaves the building. “A plane, to a land far away from Kanto that I’ve never been to before… Man this is going to be a challenge.” Josey pulls out her wallet. “I only have 1000 pokedollars left after that team mission. I haven’t earned any more money from the other missions or the last one I did solo.” Closing her wallet she puts it back in her pack. “Well looks like I’ll have to use the money for a round trip ticket and just hope that I earn more cash for some potions and revives.”
Getting back on her hoverboard, Josey heads to the airport. Upon arrival she approaches the counter to speak to the gentleman. After a short conversation she had her round trip ticket for 500 pokedollars. She sure hoped it was worth the trip. As she boarded the plane a thought came to her mind. “Oh man! Why didn’t I just call the professor!” Josey slapped herself on the forehead. “I can be such an idiot sometimes!” It was too late to change her plans and she had already bought the ticket so off to Unova she went.
***arriving at the professors house***
After several hours of travel by air and land, she finally arrives at the professors house. Josey knocks on the door but there was no answer. “Hello,” she calls out. Still there was no answer. This time she took her fist and pounded on the door. She then heard something crash and break on the floor.
“If it’s that important to you, now that you made me drop and break my flask, come on in!”, shouted the voice from inside. She had a pleasant sounding voice, even for someone who was shouting. Perhaps it was frustration or the unexpected knock that threw her off. Either way, Josey had traveled quite the distance to meet with her so she proceeded to enter as directed. “Well introduce yourself? I haven’t got all day.”
“I’m sorry for startling you, my name is Josey. I’ve traveled here from Kanto to inquire of you. I’m coming from team Snagem, and as a favor to a friend of a member of the team I am doing a research of Celebi. I need to capture a picture of this amazing creature in its natural habitat. However, as I’m sure you’re well awar…” The professor then cut her off.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you, but anyone in their right mind would know that Celebi is next to impossible to find.”
“Ye…yes, I’m well aware of that fact. However, next to impossible isn’t impossible and I’m quite the determined person.”
“Well I gathered that much if you spent your time and money to travel all the way from Kanto to here when you could have simply just called.” Aurea could see the distain on Josey’s face from that remark. “Well young lady, since you have traveled quite the ways I suppose I can at least point you to someone who might be able to help. While it’s true that I have studied the origin of Pokémon, my father is a retired Pokémon researcher. If anyone could help you, it would be him.”
There was a sound of hope in her voice now, “Where could I find him??” “I wouldn’t go getting your hopes up just yet, but you can find him currently at Icirrus City.”
“Thank you so much! I’ll head there now.” Josey bowed as she left the home and headed out back on the road. She then pulled Spock out of her bag. “Spock do you have a map for this region?”
“Miss Josey, I’ve been programed by the best. I have maps of every region in this world.” He then proceeded to pull up the map for Unova. With her location now fixed Josey once again hopped onto her hoverboard.
***man this is getting to be long hahaha***
Arriving in Icirrus City, Josey quickly went to work finding Aurea’s father. It didn’t take her long to spot the man, he stood out like a sore thumb with his bright orange shirt. She ran up to him with haste. “Hello! Are you Aurea’s dad?”
“Why yes, I am Cedric Juniper. How can I help you?”
Josey went into explaining her whole reason for coming all this way and what she was hoping to achieve. She seemed to stated it all in one breath so when she was finally done she gasped for air.
“Clam down young lady. I can see that you are all excited and eager. I can give you what I do know. Celebi can be found, though it is extremely rare. However, I can tell you that I have myself once caught a glimpse of its amazing beauty. It was only by chance that I was able to see it and it didn’t last too long either. Many trainers have looked to capture this Pokémon due to its ability of time travel. Your heart seems pure and as long as you remain calm you might just be able to find it.”
Josey took a deep breath. “Please Professor, tell me all that you know.” “First off, Celebi will only appear where there is perfect peace and harmony. If there is any trouble in an area, it will not come. Second, only in the thickest of wooded areas will you see it. In fact the forest grows thicker when it is near. If I were you, I’d head to Sinnoh. I’ve heard reports of wars between land and water in some of the other regions, but Sinnoh is peaceful right now. Go to the great marsh.”
“Thank you so much! Um… I’m sorry to ask you this, but I kind of bought a round trip ticket from Kanto to get to here. Is there any way I could get to Sinnoh that wouldn’t cost any money? I haven’t a Pokémon that can fly yet.” “I would be happy to send you there on my Charizard as long as he returns to me of course.”
“Of course sir! I would never dream of keeping a Pokémon from someone who has been so helpful!” Taking the borrowed Charizard, Josey took off now to Sinnoh directly for the Great Marsh.
***man I’ve become a world traveler in this mission***
Josey hops off the Charizard as they land and waves good bye as it heads back up into the sky returning to its master once more. “Wow this has been one LONG day. I really hope it’s worth all this trouble.” She makes her way into the Safari Zone building. “Hello, I’d like to get into the Great Marsh please.”
“Sure thing, how many pokeballs can I get you and would you like anything to lore out the Pokémon?”
“How much can I get for 100 pokedollars?”
“Well I can see you are new to this area, so I’ll cut you a break. I’ll give you 5 balls and 5 blocks to lore out the wild Pokémon. You’ll only have an hour of time though and once that time is up you will be teleported back to the entrance here.”
“Great thank you!” With that she was teleported into the Great Marsh area. It was wet and it was already getting kind of dark. Josey had spent most of the day traveling and so her day light hours were quickly fading away. “Man I hope the sun will stay with us otherwise the flash of the camera might scare away what we have come to see.” She was really just talking to herself since there was no one else around.
Stepping off the platform, Josey made her way deeper into the marsh. She saw something moving in a bush nearby but couldn’t quite make it out. The creature was sort of blending in. “Just to be on the safe side I better have Pyro out with me.” She called out her Chimchar. “CHIM!” “Shhhhhhhh Pyro, we have to be quiet because we are looking for an extremely rare Pokémon today and we can’t scare it off.” “chim”, Pyro whispered. “Now that’s better.” There was another rustling in the grass and this time a Kecleno popped out. Josey tried to ignore it but it kept sticking its tongue out at her. “Pyro get rid of that thing! I don’t want it to scare off Celebi.”
Pyro flared up his tail and sent a flame wheel barreling toward the Kecleno. It grazed its tail as the thing ran back off into the grass. Josey then saw what looked like a thicket of trees. Deciding that would be the best place to go she made her way over with Pyro at her side. Stepping in some deep mud she pulled her foot out and decided to rest against one of the trees. Suddenly it began to move. Josey fell to the ground, “What the heck!” She looked up now only to be face to face with a giant Tropius. This beast was HUGE, but looked just like the trees around it.
“Pyro! A little help!”
Tropius wailed its leaves at the tiny monkey and hit him with some grass. Pyro being a fire type didn’t take much damage thankfully. He then flamed up his tail and sent a powerful wheel whirling toward the towering creature. Tropius stepped back into the mud and was stuck. Josey knew if she caught this Pokémon she couldn’t keep it, but at least it would be out of her way. She threw one of the pokeballs at it and after three wiggles it was caught. Picking up the ball she then released it back into the wild and discarded the used pokeball. “Well I hope we don’t run into anymore of those creatures.”
The trees were getting thicker still as she made her way deeper into the marsh. After a few more paces she heard a joyful squeal. It was almost like the sound of a child playing. She put her hand on Pyros head to stop him from proceeding before her. Slowly she crept forward ever so slightly with each foot. Sure enough as she looked around one of the trees she saw in plain view a Celebi. Daylight was now fading faster and it had already been a half hour that had gone by. She placed her pack on the ground and quietly took out the camera.
Lowering the shutter speed so as not to make much noise, Josey started to snap some photos. The first few were only of Celebis back side, but she didn’t dear move around to try and get its front. Rather, she waited patiently for the playful Pokémon to turn around. *snap* There was a sound of a twig breaking not far from behind her. Celebi turned around quickly and Josey snapped a photo just in time. Suddenly a trainer came flying through the trees at great speed. Seemed to be riding on the back of a Pokémon, it was a Growlith to be exact. Celebi faded into deeper into the forest, trees popping up blocking it from the trainer.
Josey jumped up, “What the heck do you think you’re doing! Don’t you dare try and capture that Pokémon!”
“What are you going to do about it!”
Josey then called out Bubbles her Chinchou. “I’ll show you what I’m going to do about it! Bubbles use surf!” With a wave of water the trainer was swept off the back of the Growlith and the poor Pokémon was now soaked. It shock its fur and the water sprayed and then a stink penetrated the air. “Oh man, I hate the smell of wet Growliths!”
“Growlith façade!” Screamed the trainer. Growlith growled as it lunged at Bubbles. The attack was strong, but not super effective.
“Bubbles, finish off that fire Pokémon with Hydro Pump!” “CHIN CHI!”
Bubbles charged itself up and blasted out a powerful stream of water knowing the Growlith clear off its feet. Once landed, the Growlith was no longer fit for battle.
“Trust me, you haven’t seen the last of me!” Shouted the trainer with his fist in the air. He returned his fainted Pokémon and took off.
“Great job Bubbles!” Josey patted her Chinchou on the head and returned it. She looked back at Pyro. The sky was now laced in red and orange colors. Josey looked at the camera and saw that she did get a few good back side photos and the one front side she got was Celebi with a rather shocked expression. “Well this should be interesting.” As she looked up the trees faded away. She moved forward with caution, but did not see Celebi however there was an egg sitting there on the forest floor. As she got closer it wasn’t just an egg, it was multiple eggs, “Wait that’s not eggs, that’s an Exeggcute, but how…”
She heard a joyful cry once more and looked up to see Celebi looking down at her. “Celebi!” Cried the happy Pokémon. Josey still with the camera in hand snapped one last photo as the Pokémon disappeared. She then looked back at the Exeggcute, who as not moving at all. Tossing a safari ball at the Pokémon it wiggles three times and clicked. She picked it up and at once was teleported back to the entrance. Her hour had ended. It was now dark and had to of been one of the longest days of her life. Josey headed back to the airport and used her return ticket to get back to Kanto. Once there she headed back to base.

Tier Advancement Mission #1
So you finally made it to the end of tier six huh? Just to think, not long ago you were a fresh member, having no clue on what you were doing, just starting to trainer your Pokemon, and you already made it this far. You might think you've hit the big time by getting all the way here and choosing to take on the advancement mission but you're about to learn otherwise if you don't take this seriously. But enough of my speech to instill dramatic effect, let's get on to the reason why you're here, and that's to prove you're worthy of advancing to tier five.
This is the first of several missions you will be required to advance to each tier, once you reach the final rank of a tier that is, fortunately you've already met that requirement and now feel that you are ready to advance, so good for you! Now, your mission is a simple one, in theory that is. Our headquarters is situated within Mt. Silver, as you should know by now, which is home to many fierce Pokemon that test the strength of trainers throughout the world. Because of their immense strength compared to your average wild Pokemon, and their seclusion from humans, the Pokemon here can sometimes by rather dangerous. Despite all the warnings people are given about the dangers of Mt. Silver and the Pokemon that inhabit it, one group of hoodlums though have completely disregarded these warnings and could possibly endanger not only themselves, but others, which could include us. The group I mentioned call themselves Team Ninja, though they are really nothing more than a small group of adolescent trouble makers from Johto who take their pranks, and love of all things 'ninja-like' way too far.
So what are they doing exactly? Well there is a very elderly Scizor that lives in the forested area at the base of Mt. Silver. This particular Scizor is unique in the fact that it is what is called "shiny", as in it posseses an alternate coloration apart from normal Scizor, in this case, it's a yellowish green. Now normally there is no problem in capturing a wild Pokemon, but their target is the leader of a pack of Scyther that thrive in the forest and removing the Scizor from its habit could severly disturb the hostile Scyther of Mt. Silver. Not only that, but the shiny Scizor is very old, as mentioned earlier. It can't fight much on its own, and it's almost always accomanied by other Scyther, so for Team Ninja to obtain it they would have to go through many Scyther, further disturbing the area, and with us having our headquarters in Mt. Silver, this won't be good for us. Though don't worry about Team Ninja finding out about us being here, they aren't that bright.
Now, your mission is, if you choose to accept it, to location the ragtag group of adolescent punks and stop them from capturing the shiny Scizor and disturbing the wild Pokemon of Mt. Silver. These kids have absolutely no concern for the Pokemon of the mountain and only treat them as toys. Now if it wasn't obvious already Team Ninja specialize in ninja-like Pokemon such as Nincada and Zubat, so Fire and Psychic types will be beneficial. Team Ninja themselves aren't very strong and not that much of a threat, just very annoying and reckless in their actions. So do us all a favor and give these guys the boot off of our mountain.
Objective - Prevent Team Ninja from capturing the shiny Scizor. - Don't allow them to anger and rile up the Pokemon of the mountain. - Send them packing.
Opposition - Team Ninja of course. Going by their numbers I would imagine you would face at least two members of the group with between two and three first evolution Pokemon each. You may also have to face the leader, a red headed scarf wearing teenager named Takashi who uses three Pokemon, them being Nincada, Koffing, and Ninjask.
Pokemon - You'll mostly encounter the wild Scyther of the mountain who are extremely active in protecting their leader. You may capture/snag one first stage Pokemon (Includes non-evolving)
Rewards - Advancement to Bronze Snagger in Tier Five! - Varies from there. ______________________________________________________
Josey was relaxing on the couch when her SNAG vibrated, she pulled it out of her back pocket. “Miss Josey,” came the voice of the calm and collected Spock. “Yes Spock what is it?” “It appears you have a special mission to complete.” Josey looked at the piece of machinery with a perplexed expression upon her face, “A special mission?” “Yes Miss Josey, it appears you are to assist in getting rid of some riff raff hanging around our base. It’s an advancement mission.” “Sweet, an advancement! It sounds simple enough too!” Reading over the details Josey knew this would be a simple task. She went over to the PC and assembled her team.
“Wild Pokémon are ganna be no issue here,” she took out Chimchar, Chinchou and Tirtouga. She gave Chimchar the cleans tag she got so that she could avoid all those random battles. “Oh this is going to be far too easy, I don’t even need a forth on the team for something like this.” It might have seemed that Josey was a bit over confident, but she was becoming a better trainer and when looking at the advantages she had she had reason to be. Grabbing her hoverboard she was out the door and down the side of the mountain.
As she approached the base of the area she could see some commotion going on. One of the members of Team Ninja was chasing after a Scyther making no effort to hide himself. Probably just out here as a distraction to me, she thought to herself. Regardless of the fact, she was not about to let that idiot terrorize the Pokémon like that. “STOP RIGHT THERE!”, Josey shouted out as she ran up to the trainer. “I’m not going to just stand around and watch you chase these creatures!”
Grabbing a pokeball he called out his Zubat. “Go Tritouga!” Her giant turtle Pokémon came out of the ball in a glow of red light. Tritouga was carrying the quick claw and using the rocks around it shaped them into daggers that went flying right at the bat. Zubat tried to dodge, but there was to many and its wings got clipped by a few. Poison now dripped from its fangs as it bit into the fleshy part of Tritougas tail. He slammed the tail against the rocks with the Zubat still attached causing a rock slide to consume the bat like creature. No longer able to fight his trainer recalled the Pokémon.
Next he sent out his Nincada who’s antennas twitched as it scrapped its metal claws against the rocks trying to intimidate. Wasn’t working with Tritouga though, he got his tail ready as water pulsed around it and hit the insect with an aqua blast. Nincada wasn’t expecting the giant turtle to react so quickly, being taken by surprise it hit the ground hard. Rushing back at Tritouga, Nincada dug its claw in and used giga drain hurting him badly and at the same time regaining some health. He would not be able to withstand another attack from a move like that, Tritouga gathered up his energy and hydro pumped the bug into the rocks with a powerful blast. Nincada fainted and its owner collected his Pokémon and took off running.
“Well that’s the end of that mess.” Scyther scurried off to meet up with his buddies. Josey figured she would follow the Pokémon in the hopes that it would lead her to where the cause of the problem was. Keeping her distance she kept a close watch avoiding any random battles by having Chimchar at her side. He was being unusually quiet for a Pokémon that could now talk. Josey wasn’t going to question it though, perhaps he was smarter now and knew when to keep his mouth shut.
Moments later the two of them would come across a battle. There was another member of Team Ninja having it out with one of the wild Scyther. Josey heard the hissing of the Ekans as it slithered up behind the Scyther. Hmm a snake like Pokémon, how very sneaky, She turned to Chimchar. “Alright Pyro you can handle that snake!” Pyro nodded and swinging from the branch of a nearby tree landed and whipped the snake burning it. “Ekansssssss”, hissed the snake as it now turned its attention toward the monkey. It now coiled itself around Pyro squeezing him “Chim chim!” He squirmed out of the grasp and dug his way underground. Ekans looked around trying to figure out where the Chimchar had gone to when suddenly he came up behind him pulling it into the ground. No longer able to move the Ekans was recalled.
Calling out her Zubat the trainer snarled at Josey with a look of detest. “Alright Pyro come back, we’ll let Bubbles have a turn now!” “CHIN CHIN!”, cried the Chinchou as it came out. As it was released, Chinchou let out a discharge shocking the Zubat into submission. In retaliation the Zubat went to bite into the fish like Pokémon but was unable to move. Chinchou taking advantage of its opponent let out a thunder attack that would lay the finishing blow. Zubats lifeless body fell to the ground with a thud. Recalling her Pokémon the trainer ran off shutting some absurd things about unfairness and blah blah blah. Josey however, was now attending to the Scyther that seemed to be hurt from the Ekans bite. Sadly she did not have any medication that would heal the poison effects, but that would wear off over time.
Josey then called out Chimchar once more. “Pyro, can you talk to this Scyther for me, tell him that we come in peace and that we need to find his leader because he is in danger.” After a short conversation in their Pokémon tongue, Scyther was ready and willing to lead the way. They headed out across a small plane into a wooded area. In a beautiful shiny green form there stood Scizor the leader of the Scythers. He was hunched over and backed up against a tree being targeted by the leader of Team Ninja.
Koffing was emanating poisons gases that seemed to be mucking up the air all around the area. Josey ran up with Pyro who was ready to tackle that gassy blob. “Pyro Dig!” Pyro dug itself under the ground avoiding the gasses in the air, he then came up and grabbed the blob tossing it into a nearby tree. “KOFFING” As it hit the tree some sludge like substance squirted out hitting Pyro in the face. Wiping it from his eyes, the little monkey with flames coming up out of his tail used flamethrower blasting it at the now sludge dripping Koffing. With a last wheezing breath the Koffing fainted and was recalled.
Nincada buzzed out of its pokeball next and zipped down clinging to Pyros tail with its metal claws. Pyro was already hurt from the poison now racing through his blood, the poor monkey couldn’t take anymore. Josey recalled him and let out her Chinchou “CHIN CHIN!”, it cried out. Without hesitation Bubbles shocked the Nincada with a pin point thunder attack. Twitching the bug like Pokémon managed to harden itself, this was not enough to withstand another attack. Bubbles used Brine hitting with twice as much power then before KOing the bug. Its trainer was ripping mad as he recalled his Pokémon sending out his final foe.
With a blood curding screech Ninjask whirled out of its pokeball into the air. Josey smiled, even this evolved bug was not going to hold up against her. She recalled Chinchou and called out Tritouga, “Alright! Let’s do this thing! Show this bug the power of old!” Tritouga was quick to attack and summoned ancientpower, with four times the attacking power due to its advantage, Ninjask went down in one blast. Shocked at his defeat the leader recalled his Pokémon.
“You have not heard the last of Team Ninja!” He shock his fist in Josey’s face. “You’re just a bunch of teenage wanna be’s, try growing up!” He grunted and made a few rude comments before taking off. Scizor seemed quite thankful to be rid of the pesky kids. Josey shook the claw of the magnificent creature and then headed back to base. She did not want to disturb any of the balance that was set in place around the mountain. It made her choice of taking the cleans tag to be the perfect way of getting through such a mission. Mission complete:
Fought 2 team members with 2 Pokémon each and fought the leader with 3 Pokémon. Assisted the wild Pokémon as much as I could and left the area in balance.
