The next room was perfect: it had a small hotsprings in it, which steamed and burbled to itself. The room was clouded with steam most of the time, drifting in and out like fog; a mouthful of glowing mushrooms in there made it truly creepy and a bit surreal. Catching Fire delicately arranged some bones near the lip of the hotsprings, to make it look like something was trying to claw its way out.
Who would dare approach the water to find out what horrific thing had died in there?

 Wings paused as she listened to the click of her hooves on stonier ground, and wandered. She let herself be ferried by the slope of the ground, her eyes still unused to the darkness in the cave... or perhaps it was the steam?... following the sound of what she thought might be some strange breathing, or a continual hiss. She paused, almost puzzled by the fact that she simply had no idea where the breathing was coming from... until she realized it was the sound of bubbling steam.

 The entrance had held little interest to her. There were many kimeti and a few other cousins -- none of hers; if she had cousins -- milling about out there. There'd been talk of haunting though she wasn't sure she believed that. Instead of listening she moved forward into one of the four passageways. The soft sound of something -- whispers? -- lured her into the room until it blasted into shouts and her ears pressed back. What in the Motherfather was going on in there? She tread further in, the steam clouds hung heavy and pressed warm against her short fur. She stared into the room and barely made out figures. The fluffed fog made it hard to see. "It's hard to see in here," she offered into the air all while her eyes focused on something. She wasn't sure what it was yet.

 Solemn looked around, and realized he didn't follow Mischief. The glow in the room had him looking around for the source, but it was hard to tell with the steam. The buck stepped further in the room, not sure if there was something there. He looked up and to the left with a swift movement. A voice a bit further inside had him wondering what was going on. He followed the voice, arriving at the hot spring and seeing a couple of others. A blue and silverish doe was closest to him. "Hello, did you hear something too?"

Wings blinked fearfully as she caught sight of bones, biting her lip as she tried not to panic. She ran over to the doe and the buck, hiding between them as she kept her head down, accitentally butting her head into one of them in her haste to hide behind others. There's bone in there! she wished she could say, but as usual, not a single sound but raspy, panicked breath came out.

"Oh, lots of things," the doe replied to the orange buck without a second's glance at him. She was staring -- she never seemed not to stare -- although the steam made it dreadfully hard to figure out what she was seeing. Something was struggling but that was really all she could manage to figure out. She turned her head to the buck and felt a swift powerful nudge on her shoulder. Turning her head to the doe, "Oh, you're very pretty!" As if that was the most important thing in the world. Unblinking Eyes frowned at the doe's breathing -- was she scared? That was awful. "It'll be all right," she nodded happily and then paused, "What's wrong?"

"Does the room spook you?" Solemn looked over the first doe, towards the dark doe. Her breathing seemed frightened. He gave them both a quick once over, before heading a little bit further in. "I will go check it out. Just keep her calm, if you can." Solemn figured that Mischief had set something up before he could get there and wanted to see for himself.

With a wail and a whoop, Double-Stripe bounded into the steam-blanketed chamber of the cave. The flickering light of the mushrooms really made the place spooky - that Acha knew what he was about! As her ghostly moaning dissolved into giggles, she leaned against the handy side of a black, silver and teal doe, opposite of a black and green one. When she could stand on her own again without fear of falling over laughing, she said to the assembled kimeti, "Hi, I'm Double-Stripe! I'm a ghost."

Bird jumped as she heard a strange wail, and some strange, fearsome cry, somewhere in the steamy cave. Curtains of hot water hid whatever fearsome thing it was that was bounding towards her. She cringed back as it came closer, and closer, and she was shaking as it's breath changed to turn into some strange laugher-... She was practically reeling as the laugh that came out was not sepulchral or eerie or even disconcerting, but rather seemed to be the lighthearted giggling of somekin who was having a lot of fun. Why did I ever enter this awful, frightening cave? she wondered quietly as the doe spoke, and proclaimed herself to be a ghost. Strangest ghost I've ever seen, she mentally remarked, as she cautiously peeked over the reassuring doe's shoulder to examine the very-alive-looking doe opposite her. But... since I haven't actually seen any, and all the stories are so different from each other that it's impossible to tell by looks or smells or anything else I can do and maybe she's telling the truth? Oh dear, oh my... oh, I dearly wish I could just ask her.

He just got close to the hotsprings when the wail reached his ears. Solemn jumped, turning completely around. His hooves next to the bones and his tail in the water. His eyes adjusted to the light, he could make out another doe had entered the room. And none to quietly. If his brother ever found out that he almost made a mess just from a wail in that room, Solemn would never be able to show his face as a prankster again. The orange buck shook out his tail, letting the water splash against everything near by. "A ghost that giggles a lot." He moved back towards them, more to calm the green and black doe. He stood on to the shaking does side, trying to calm her with his presence and wasn't sure if that was working. "Are those your bones up there, Double-Stripe? Since you are a ghost and ghost haunt around their bones."

Goodness the pretty doe was frightened. Stare moved closer trying to reassure the poor girl even as her head turned to find the new sounds. She hadn't ever quite heard a wail or whoop like that, no. And if she hadn't been trying to make Wings of a Bird less scared, she might have moved off. As it was the giggling specter appeared beside her -- pressing against her opposite side and looking quite, solid and -- "How bright you are, miss ghost!" It always took her mouth quite awhile to catch up with her head. She rather doubted the doe was a ghost. Not that she had heard much about them. Only that they were dead and didn't seem to know it. Or something along those lines. The orange buck came back then and she let her steady gaze move to him. Oh good he was trying to help the poor doe, too. "There are bones?" ...that probably wasn't going to calm her down any. Oops.

The black and green doe was pretty badly shaken - seeing that, Double-Stripe felt bad about her unnecessarily loud entrance. The buck's question caught her off guard, then - "Oh dang, there's bones?" she said before she could stop herself. She quickly recovered with "I mean, YES, of course those're my bones. I mean, gosh, I'm a ghost. Of course they're mine." She trotted around to the other side of him, peering into the mist. "I mean, if I'd died here, they'd be my bones." She turned back to the group, and scuffed one of her hooves against the stone. "I'm not actually a for real ghost," she explained lamely, "but I'm pretending to be one for the party."

While there wasn't anything she could say, that much, Bird could answer. The four of them seemed... well, rather nice, and hiding behind the doe with the strange shoulder scales had made her feel considerably better. Especially knowing that the one doe wasn't a ghost... even though she felt a little bit stupid. She nodded, shortly after clicking her hoof on the stone floor to get the other females' attention, and pointed her head in the direction in the steam from which she had sighted the bleached, skeletal talons in the first place, before slowly walking towards them. She turned back to look, almost panicked, as she twitched her muzzle back in front of her in what could almost be described as a 'walk in front' gesture. Go in front of me, please. While she couldn't speak, the look in her luminous eyes spoke measures.
