Name: Lavi (or Lavinia, pre-impression)
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Rank: Wingrider
Former Craft: Weaver
Personality: Lavi is a sweet, though painfully shy, girl. She’s endlessly patient with her bossy dragon, and others. She doesn’t talk back or snap at people. Her words are always soft and well-intentioned, though she speaks only rarely and quietly when among strangers. Consequently, she’s generally well-liked, though most people don’t pay her much mind because of how quiet she is.

She is terribly afraid of confrontation, but she can be remarkably brave when she needs to. She is unwavering in her support of her friends, and she won’t give up when there is something she needs to say. She relies on Xenith a little to push her back when she's trying to communicate with people, and after she works up the courage to finally speak her piece, she always has to lean back on Xenith, panicky and anxious, to comfort her. Though the dragon may seem pushy to others, Xenith gives her strength. Lavi takes everything she says in the best possible way. While she seems fragile, Lavi is able to take critism well, something only her dragon seems to know. She doesn’t like to be a burden to others and she’s constantly berating T’nus for being too nice to her.

Though quiet in crowds, she loves to talk, and enjoys nothing more than a quiet conversation with a close friend. When she’s around T’nus or enough of her friends, she is an entirely different person. Once she feels comfortable she becomes teasing, talkative, and charming. Even bossy. She loves a cheerful company, and wants nothing more than to indulge in a light conversation, although she sometimes stresses when she’s afraid what she said might be misunderstood or taken in the wrong way.

When she sees someone in trouble, or upset, she can’t help but feel empathetically towards them. So, although she’s usually too shy to get involved herself, she often tries to orchestrate a solution, or do something to subtly cheer them up. When with people, she relies too much on others to do the talking and give her directions, and worries about what they think, but when she’s alone, she’s remarkably self-reliant. She is, despite all appearances, a strong woman.

History: Lavi came to the Weyr from the Weavercraft Hall, where she was sent as a girl. The craft suited her temperament; she could work for hours talking lightly or in total silence. It was a shock to everyone when the Search riders chose her, the shy and timid mute, as a Candidate. However, there were more shocks to come, as no one expected her to Impress first time around, and certainly no one expected the hissing, violent green to chose the most quiet Candidate as her rider. Yet on the Sands, Lavi was surprisingly brave. Rampaging dragonets didn't scare her half as much as social interactions. Xenith saw the strength in her that no one else could.

When the two began weyrling lessons, it became apparent from the start that Xenith had come under the attention of a certain senior bronze weyrling. Xenith was not so keen, but while she was young, she appreciated the attention of the older dragon. Whenever he wanted to get close to them, Azimuth would offer to help them with their lessons (something Xenith simply couldn't refuse). Since their dragons were so often together, Lavi got to know his rider as well and began to develop feelings for him, although she was far too timid to ever express this. For the time being, she enjoyed his company and got to know him well as a friend.

When Xenith was a little older, she found the bronze's doting more annoying than endearing. However, his attention never dwindled. Xenith was perhaps the least shocked of the Weyr when the huge bronze showed up to chase her. Stubbornly, Xenith tried everything she could to lose him, but however sly the trick, however sharp the turn, or however much he fell behind, the stupid persistent brute would not give up. In the end, most of the blues and brown had to drop out due to lack of stamina, and she found all those who remained utterly unimpressive compared to Azimuth.

Azimuth continued his affection after the flight, while Xenith tried everything to get rid of him and prove her fear that his interests weren't genuine. She even let another male catch her on purpose to see if that would get rid of him, but he did not waver. Eventually, he had managed to get close enough to Xenith that she wouldn't want to get rid of him if she could. Meanwhile, Lavi never confessed her feelings to T'nus. In the end, she never had to. The bronze rider completely fell for her. Yet it was always Lavi pulling back, and slowing things down, too afraid of holding him down to believe that he could really loved her.

When the call for transfers came, Lavi was always an easy one to volunteer, since she rarely argued. Although too anxious to pipe up, Lavi was none-too-pleased about the transfer that would take her a Weyr away from T'nus. That was, until she found out that he happened to be transferring to the same place. Fate, as it seemed, conspired to keep them together a little longer.

Upon arrival at their new Weyr, Lavi somehow got on better terms with their weyrleader than T'nus did, but shy as she is, she is still not particularly close to anyone, although polite and timidly friendly with all. She remains close to the previous weyrleader, despite T'nus's suspicions of him. She continues to fly in the same wing as T'nus, and her and Xenith are always a sharp and cunning pair to have on the wing. This past turn, she and T'nus have begun to foster a little boy named Navi. Although she is always worrying about him (especially when T'nus lets him follow him around!) she loves him with all her heart. Usually mild-mannered and terribly afraid of confrontation, any threat to her son, or her right to have him, is the only time you will see Lavi snap.

Talents: She is handy with a needle, and can make and mend clothes, a service she often provides to T’nus or anyone who asks. She also does beautiful embroidery.

Appearance: Lavi has long, dark blonde hair, which she usually does in braids to keep her hair out of the way while she is riding. Although she is blonde, her skin is not pale, and her eyes are a green-grey. She is tall, and from forgetting to eat to pacing, her constant worry has made her quite slender, a fact T'nus is often concerned with. Her fingers are long and delicate, as if made for her work as a weaver.

Dragon:

Name: Xenith
Age: 7
Color: Green
Description: While large for a green, Xenith is a dainty little thing. She has a light step and moves like the wind itself. Though large, she is long which gives the illusion of skinniness. Her body is angular, as though sculpted from grown crystals, her color is reminiscent of that too; flashes of bright green lie within a darker color, and her hide shines brilliantly. Highlights of green accent the sharpness of her face, giving her an unusual beauty. Her wings are large, built for stamina, and deeper in color than the rest of her body, adorning her back like a cloak.

Personality: Everything about Xenith is sharp, and that includes her personality. She is strict with her friends, and downright unforgiving of errors in others. She may come off as a know-it-all, but she knows what she’s about, and that’s something most people can respect about her. She is studious and hardworking. She requires that she and Hers know every maneuver perfectly.

The only time you’ll see Xenith acting bashful or cute is when she is around Azimuth. Xenith has the unfortunate trait of generally assuming the worst of people, which makes her mistrustful of others at first. It took a long time for her to warm up to Azimuth. She bullies him a little, but makes sure never to go too far, because she knows he’d do almost anything for her. Despite her taunting, she’s shockingly loyal to her mate, and forgiving of his faults.

Underneath her sharp, studious exterior, there’s a sweet and insecure girl who really does want to get on well with everyone. Though he rarely sheds her tough exterior, she will occasionally warm up to someone, in which case she will be a little less mean, more teasing. Her best friends will be those who take her harsh words at their best, and look beyond their sharpness to see the good intentions behind them. She still acts bossily towards her friends, and often gives them a hard time, but this is just her way of trying to help them, by pushing them.
