Rachele sighed as yet another meal escaped her. She settled down on her haunches and curled her tail around her legs to comfort herself. Sure she'd had hunting lessons before, but she just wasn't good at it. Too much sympathy for the animal while it was still running around and breathing, and what if her next meal had children?! It was just too sad. She couldn't go hunting and take a life without thinking about it.
The wide world wasn't as great as everyone said. Sure the rogue lands were full of freedom, but they were also filled with other creatures who lied and stole and never bathed and... well she didn't like it. Speaking of bathing it was abominally difficult to keep her pristine white fur clean. Rachele did a quick pelt check to make sure she was still well groomed then wandered down to the watering hole to get some water before looking for easier prey.

Rayhan huffed and snorted as he gripped his waterbuck prey in his jaws, dragging it back from the water with an effort. It was a good sized buck, full of the energy and stupidity of youth. More than he needed to eat by himself, perhaps, but he wasn't going to complain about the good fortune.
The gold lion had known that waiting by the water would eventually pay off, even if the sheer number of prey coming to the water was more of a hindrance than a help. They had an annoying way of banding together when attacked, but this male had been cocky, showing off for the herd, and was thus far enough away that the others didn't feel it worth going to his rescue. Good luck for Rayhan, for sure.
Finally, far enough away not to attract passing predators OR chaise off the other prey, the young male dropped his meal and regarded it with interest, seeking the best way to start into it with the least amount of mess. Not that he minded all -that- much about cleanliness, but it was always better, he had found, to take a little extra care when you had the leisure to do so.
