Txuratan You could definitely say that Txur had been waiting on tenterhooks since confessing his feelings to Petra. She had assured him that she felt the same way about him, which was undeniably a blessing from Eywa, but simply knowing that she loved him, too wasn't quite enough. Not with their families. He knew their affection would be meaningless if Petra's brother Pietr didn't approve of their union. Petra had told him that it would be better if she talked to her brother without him, and so Txur had been waiting anxiously to hear what the future Consort had to say about this matter which was so near and dear to his heart. He didn't know what he would do if Pietr refused his suit. Probably it would be more than he could bear and he would not be able to remain in the pride under such circumstances. He would go looking for his mother, maybe, or the aunt his father had told him about but who had not come to the pride because of her coloration. Coming toward him was the familiar form and figure of a brown and white lioness who had been his best friend since cubhood. Petra! It was all he could do to keep from running up to her and demanding to know how it had gone. Petra She was happy. The meeting with her brother had gone well, very well in fact. He hadn't set her up to be mated, he didn't care that she was brown, not that he ever had but still, she knew it was always there in the back of others minds that they both carried the colour of the earth in their genes. He hadn't cared one jot. He was in fact pleased. He knew Txur and he had called him a great male, a perfect male. She of course already knew that but hearing it from her brother had only affirmed what she already thought of Txur. He was perfect for her. Her soul mate through and through. Her chocolate eyes fell upon his anxiously waiting form and where she would normally have casually walked to him she ran, her paws barely touching the ground as she surged towards him. "He said yes!" She states simply landing herself in to a crouched position, planting her head in to his mane under his chin. "He said yes." She breathed a long, low sigh of relief.

Txuratan When Petra broke into a run Txur got to his feet and jogged a few paces to meet her, though he didn't want to build up too much speed and accidentally turn their union into a collision. That would ruin things somewhat, and so far everything had been going to smoothly and perfectly. He had never dreamed it would be like this, and every time something fell into place he felt more and more certain that this was the path Eywa meant him to tread. He nuzzled Petra behind her ears as she delivered her anxioustly-anticipated news. His breathing was fast and shallow with excitement and delight. There had been no good reason to believe Pietr would have denied their marriage unless there was another mate lined up for Petra, but knowing that was not the case and that Petra was his - his! - was just such a joy. "He said yes," he repeated with a sigh that echoed hers. "Thank Eywa." For another moment he just let the good news sink in, a grin pulling the corners of his mouth back. Then another question occurred to him. "So what do we do now?" There had been a number of marriages recently, but he didn't know if something more was expected for theirs because of Petra's position as adviser to the consort. Petra She closed her eyes for a moment and let it sink in that she could be with Txur all the time now that he was her mate tat when she felt the pressures that were often upon her she could turn to him and he would whisper words that would make it all better. Se laughs gently and shakes her head, already he was doing the worrying. "No, we can just get married like everyone else." She lifts her head and looks in to his eyes, her smile soft and whimsical. "We could search for a den together..If you like." She blushes slightly, she was feeling very girly today thanks to her brush with her brother and declarations of love and life and marriage in front of her. It was all so, romantic and it was making her giggly and girly, or perhaps just dreamy. Part of her was convinced this was just a dream and it would be brushed away from her before she could truly hold on to it. Txurs scent and the feeling of his fur as she rested her head under his chin though just confirmed that it was real, it was true and this was it. She had a mate, they would be married and she was deeply in love with the handsome male.

Txuratan Txur smiled into Petra's fur. That was one of the things he loved about her. She always knew what he was thinking, even when he didn't articulate his thoughts fully and completely. "That's good. That's very good." He had participated in various marriages lately in a variety of functions and he knew how much work went into it form the priests' side. It would be nice to have someone else held responsible for all the details of the ceremony and ritual. Though there were some aspects he would have to see to though. Such as making the hammock for their family. He and Petra would have to start working on that soon. It was an important part of the marriage, he knew, and he wanted to be sure to do it right. He would have to talk to the crafters and artisans and have them teach him how to do that. "We should find a place to hang our hammock, definitely. Somewhere close to both our families." Petra Petra nods lightly, "Or maybe near our place?" She smiles, their place was a very special place and though she wanted to be near to their families, she felt it would be special to raise any future cubs near their secret spot. Future cubs, the thought made her blush and she uttered a little giggle without saying anything. "It is such a beautiful place after all and…" She pauses and sighs softly "I think it may be strange to be too close to my brother. I am his advisor but eventually he will have a family of his own I don't want to encroach upon him too much." She smiles lightly, she was worried about any cubs she may bear, if they bore her colour they wold have a hard start to life which she felt saddened about, perhaps if they had privacy they may be spared the odd looks until they were old enough to understand?

Thinking about it, Txur decided instantly that he liked Petra's idea much better than the one he had proposed. With as many siblings as he had and as many official sorts as Petra and Pietr's adoptive family had to deal with, not to mention the difference between where they made their homes, it was all but impossible to think they would find anything resembling privacy. Txur wasn't obsessive about privacy, having grown up with so many family members around, but he wouldn't mind having a place where he and Petra could go to be away from everything and everyone, and just be together.
"That's a brilliant idea," he said, grinning widely. "That's why you're the consort's adviser and I'm just a priest."
He was joking of course. He loved his work and took pride in it, but it didn't require a great deal of thought from him. He could mediate of course, if it was called for, but it wasn't often. The pride's mated pairs were generally peaceful, and few other people would seek a priest's advice in problem solving. That was a good thing, and he hoped that soon he and Petra would be among the numbers of the happily mated.

Petra giggles in a girly manner, licking the deep blue males cheek happily "You're very silly." She smiled a dazzling smile and sighed happily. She was so glad her brother had agreed to let her mate to Txur, she couldn't think of anyone in the whole world more suited for her. He was perfect and he didn't care that her fur colour was wrong. Of course, she considered it quite often because if they had cubs, perhaps when, they would carry her fur colour too.
"Come, lets go and see if we can scrounge up some bedding, we can move over there tonight." She smiled a sweet loving smile and nuzzled deep in to the big males chest. "We can be alone together."

"I suppose I am," Txur agreed. It didn't bother him that she thought so. He would prefer to be silly to serious, at least if he had to pick only one. Fortunately, he wasn't limited to being only silly or only serious.
Her suggestion prompted an expression from him that imitated shock, but was clearly joking. He certainly wasn't about to object to getting started on everything involved with being mates. He also didn't intend to do more than sleep beside her that evening, but even that would be nice. He'd slept near her before, but this would be different. This would be the first time he did so as her betrothed. There were so many firsts for the two of them to look forward to.
"That sounds like a plan," he said. "Let's go."

"It's a compliment, I love that you're silly." She chuckles stretching out her limbs as she pulled, regrettably, away from him. She would have stayed where she was, tucked in to his mane all the day long but if they wanted to set up a den together, they had to set it up.
Nuzzling his mane the soft brown lioness got to her paws and loped off towards the dens. She had a feeling they would be not be apart ever again for very long at all. They were like two peas in a pod after all. She sighs a soft, pleased sigh and smiles back at him to make sure he was following before she ducked in to the undergrowth.
