The Lightning Country is one of the larger ninja countries in the world, but it only shares a border with one country, Land of Frost. The remainder of the country is marked by a long coastline.

As Cruxis began to head back to the village from the Pillar of Light, he kept a careful grip on the message case that had been delivered to him. Was he to receive his team assignment? From what he recalled, teams were organized within the academy; there had to be more to it than this. Shaking his head to clear the thoughts out of his mind, he put a burst of chakra under him to pick up speed; gliding forward towards the village gates. As the two of them left the pillar and was heading towards their new destination. As they were moving Ishinon thought about what Rissa had told him just before they left their last location. Not sure why she would speak of her dad to me, especially if he's like she said. Not like I could speak with her dad since I wouldn't know who that is. Shaking his head a bit as Ishinon tried to disregard those ideas and thoughts. Since it was like that, then Ishinon wouldn't do something like that. It really would take something extrordinary to get Ishinon to cause any intenional trouble for Rissa. If she didn't want something like that, then Ishinon would make sure to be a good friend in return for Rissa believing in him, saying she wanted to be friends with someone like him. At least that was how Ishinon viewed it all about how he should be in this situation. As they headed towards the old village, Ishinon looke around himself, not recognising the area, being quite unsure where to go but it seemed like Rissa knew of the area alot better than him and he followed her smiling. Is it far to the old village? Ishinon asked as he wasn't sure if they had a long way left or if it was just around the corner.

Quote: Rank: C Meat Gathering -Overview: Due to a decrease in the season local herbalist are finding it more and more difficult to keep up the demand for good medicine due to the changing of the seasons. It is because of this that the village has been tasked with capturing rare plant that only grows in the outskirts of the village, however beware, village herbalist warn that the location of the plant is home to a sleuth of bears. Go to the outskirts of the village and bring back as much of the plan as you can safely. ---Step 1: Head out! You are your team meet up at the front of the village and set forth towards the outskirts in order to locate the plant. The walk is a medium distance and should not take too long, however if you rush you might alert the sleuth of bears. The herbalist have provided you with a map to the flowers location. Be careful. ...Count: 200 ...Check: Awareness - Tracking Check (Int(x2) + Int Stat Buff(x2) + Jutsu Awareness Buff + Item Awareness Buff vs 200 ) ...Requirements: Only one member needs to make the check at the end of the post requirement to continue. Should the check fail the team is lost and must rp an additional 50 lines before the check can be attempted again with a +5 to each additional attempt.
---Step 2: Don't wake the bears! You have managed to locate the flowers, however the bears are nearby, some are sleeping, while other are simply distracted. You must sneak passed the bears in order to reach the flowers safely. ...Count: 100 lines ...Check: Stealth Check (Agi(x2) + Agi Stat Buff(x2) + Jutsu Stealth Buff + Item Stat Buff vs 240) ...Requirements: Each member must attempt this check, in the event that someone fails that means the bears have been alerted of your presences and attack with an attacking Tai Power of 100 with a damage of 300. You may either dodge separately, or one player may interpose for the entire group. After the bear has finished its attack and everyone has made a proper response, you may attempt the stealth check again.
---Step 3: Gather Quickly! Now that you have made it to the flowers it is now time to gather as many as you can and get out of there and back to the village. ...Count 50 ...Check Agility Check (Agility(x2) + Agility Stat Buff(x2) vs 100) ...Requirements: This check can not fail, however if it does determine how much of the flowers you manage to escape with. You obtain 10 herbs for attempting the check regardless of the results, 10 herbs for succeeding it, and an additional 10 herbs for ever 1 degree of success. Example: Your Agility is 20 and you have an agility buff of 15. You multiply your Agility and buff by 2 totaling 40 and add your +15(x2) agility buff resulting in a total PC of 70. You make your check vs 100 and realize that you need a 47 or lower to pass the check. You roll and land on 23. This means that you obtained 10 herbs for making the check, you also receive a bonus 10 for beating the check, as well as an additional +20 for beating the check by 24 or "two degrees of success" for a total of 40 herbs. ......Rewards: The ninja whom made the awareness check is granted +400 ryo If you managed to make it to the flowers without waking the bears each participant is granted +400 ryo For every herb you collect (not ones your team collects) you receive +20 ryo. Notes: May only be completed once In the event that a player is knocked into critical 2 or lower the mission has been failed and you must return them to the village for treatment. As Notwen discussed the mission at hand Cruxis inquired about the bears' nesting habits and range of territory, but Takeshi answered the question with his knowledge on the matter, which was more than what he hoped to say. The dark-skinned blonde listened to his team mate divulge the information requested and more, which brought a smile to his face. Takeshi's presence was something Notwen truly appreciated. " Thank you, Takeshi. I couldn't have explained it better myself. Now if there aren't any more questions let's get going. I want to get this task done and get back home before night falls." With that said, Notwen rolled up the maps, put them away, and began walking down the path they had been taking towards the area where the flowers they sought grew.

The three-eyed Uchia was right about needing to be out of the area before sundown; though Cruxis's own fear was in rushing - the faster they moved the more noise they were likely to make. As the party moved down the path, Cruxis recalled an old prank technique he had used not only against his fellow students, but at one point to allow him graduation by using it on his sensei before a big date. The prank technique, nicknamed Anysmell, would allow Cruxis to make a person or object mimic the smell of something else. A classic had been raw sewage; though in his sensei's case, the chosen smell had been a bundle of lilacs. Though appearances could easily give them away, perhaps mimicing the smell of the resident bears would aid them in sneaking past them unnoticed, Humans in the area would easily cause trouble, even if they bears did only catch a whiff of them while asleep, but they might just be able to bypass a half asleep bear by not smelling like humans. The problem with this of course was that Cruxis had not smelled the bears; nor had he any intention of getting close enough to attempt to smell one. Without knowing the smell, he could not create an imitation of it; the major limit of the technique. He let the idea pass and focused instead on the task at hand - sneaking by the bears; though the memory of the lilac smell didn't fade... While not the smell of the local bears; it certainly wasn't the smell of humans... "Uchiha-sama... This might be the wrong time to bring this up; but I've been thinking... If we don't smell like humans, will that increase our odds of success? I have a minor genjutsu that can mimic smells, well any smell that I am familiar with at least; and while I've not gone up and smelled a bear, I could at least disguise the scent of human and maybe help sneak past them. In fact, it might even be better that I cannot use a bear scent, as they might see it as a rival predator...", the offer was not meant to sound craven, only a fact of the matter. If they did not smell like something the bears would take offense to, it might make them less aware - and perhaps give them an extra edge in sneaking past them. Once Takeshi was finished with what he had to say, he heard Notwen speak up and thank him, then go on to say that he wanted to be done and home before the sunlight faded into darkness. This was a good point, but there was also no sense in rushing this mission ether as being rushed could wind up making sloppy mistakes. While they walked through the wilderness of the hidden cloud, it was relatively quiet, With Notwen in the lead, the younger shinobi Cruxis in center, and Takeshi trailing. He was actually glad for this since he could make sure if something tried to get behind them that he could warn everyone and with his abilities withstand quiet a beating if need be. But the silence was broken when Cruxis started to speak about a skill that he had created to disguise their smell of being human. Takeshi thought about it while they walked a bit and it seemed to make sense with some minor details. "He might have a point here.... as long as he uses a neutral smell, like the earth that is close to the area, it could give us a minor edge in not allerting them. Though we'd still have to watch our step as not to wake them obviously..." He was still interested in Cruxis, with his increasingly abundance in genjutsu skills, and the way he owned up to accept this punishment that he was on, he turned out to be quiet and interesting young shinobi. Then again though, he didn't know much about anything but Taijutsu so he wasn't even sure if it was possible for what this younger one was claiming to accomplish.

Rissa sighed as she landed on the tree branch, taking a brief break. She was exhausted from her training, and though she wasn't that far from the village, even a little of what she was doing had her breaking every few moments just to make it back. At this point, the girl no longer cared what would happen with her father when she got back home. Shaking her head at the thought, the girl stood again, leaping forward and wasting no time as she headed towards the village gates, intending to go and take a nice nap when she got back. As the trio walked on, Cruxis brought up an idea. He claimed to have developed a technique that could mask the scent of anything he touched, and brought up the idea to use said technique to aid their group in getting past the bears. Takeshi also seemed to be in favor of the younger genin's tactic, adding that using a neutral smell such as that of the earth from the area the bears occupied. "It's a really good idea, Cruxis." said Notwen, turning back to smile at the genin and nod his head in approval, "Masking our scents would be a really smart approach to passing by the bears undetected. However, the one thing that worries me is that we'll still be visible. In the event that one of the bears wakes up, due to hearing us or not, the ruse would be up. I'll allow you to use the technique. In the event that it fails i'll hold them off and leave the gathering to you guys." He turned to face Takeshi. "If any of the bears manages to get past me it's your job to take care of it."
After the plan of action had been agreed upon, the dark-skinned blonde led them down a side path into the valley between two mountains. For about three quarters of a mile there was nothing to see but grass and shrubbery. Notwen spotted several mountain goats grazing on the steep incline in the distance. Clouds of gnats buzzed everywhere, forcing the three-eyed Uchiha to walk with his hand a few inches in front of his face to ward off the annoying insects. Then came the second pine forest that covered the bottom of the valley. This one was a bit more spaced out than the one by Nova's training ground. The floor was littered with pine cones that released a strong piny aroma when stepped on. Suddenly Notwen raised his arm in order to stop Cruxis and Takeshi from moving. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted claw marks on the trunks of several pines. "We're officially in bear territory mates." said the Chuunin showing the other two what he had seen.

The trio continued on, and Takesi seemed to approve of the idea. Cruxis's suggestion had been a good idea after all! The boy felt a small bit of pride that the idea had had merit. At the approval of the Chuunin at his suggestion, Cruxis nodded and closed his eyes, focusing himself on the land around him; the thick scent of the natural trees around him. He filled his lungs fresh air gently scented with pine, only the sound of the wind in the pine trees breaking the silence of his focus. He placed his hands on the two shinobi and transferred the scent to them; the genjutsu masking their own smell for the pine fresh musk. He sniffed the air and the sweet scent filled his nose. Odd because most scents he would use had a rancid smell, until one got close and realized it was just plain foul. Crossing his hands upon his chest, the technique placed the mask of the pine trees around himself as well; before his chakra settled; the shinobi pressing a light layer of chakra underneath himself to hover above the ground in order to prevent rustling against the ground. "It's done... like you said, if they see us it won't help, but at least they won't smell us coming." the gennin save a nod to his superiors, listening to the instructions carefully. He didnt' doubt that the Uchiha could hold the bears off, though whether he could do it without decimating a nice sized section of the forest was another question. "I'm ready..." Cruxis spoke in barely a whisper to Takeshi; double checking the sheath of his katana in order to ensure it would not drop loose while attempting to sneak past the bears. The boy blinked, and his steel blue eyes turned a hue of gold, the Ryuugan activating in order to better view their surroundings as he carefully glided over the ground, keeping a whether eye out for the flowers. He found himself taking a lead without asking, deciding to demonstrate that he was more than a hostage risk and could be valuable; in part because he did not want to be assigned further punishment for causing failure on the mission. Carefully, he made his way up a tree and through the top of the canopy, picking what appeared to be the least leafy tree to ascend up on; stepping out onto the air once he was free of the branches. Now he would have a much easier time finding the flowers without risk of catching himself in a bramble or similar obstacle. It didn't take long to glance out over the surroundings without obstructions; except for the fact that everything below him was now tree canopy. He leapt down towards the group and slowed his descent a bit before he neared them, mainly to prevent causing them any unnecessary alarm or loud crashing sound to alert nearby bears; and obviously not necessarily wanting to drop out of the sky and freak everyone out just because he could. 'Well that was a dud move, thinking I could spot them from up high and simply fly to the flowers.'You are a fool young padawan, thinking you can cheat the system like that. Obviously you're going to have to search for a trail, follow it the entire way, and then carefully bypass a den of bears in order to get the flowers without waking any up. Oh, and let's not forget that the average bear weighs about two-hundred and fifty to three-hundred pounds; which given your low strength score, you will not be lifting off of yourself once they get a grapple on you!''I swear, if I get buttraped by a bear, you will rue the day you chose to-''Oh relax, more than likely the chuunin will keep those bears busy enough. It's more a matter of how many can he kill before they decide to go for the weaker and squishier target; which if you did not guess already means the one who can't summon forth flaming bursts or spines from his body.''As always, thank you for your unconditional votes of confidence in my survival abilities. If I ever am sent to therapy I'll be sure to tell them that the mocking voice in my head is the source of my self-doubts.''I think the Pillar of Light's mental ward would be more than happy to accept that reasoning. But then again you're not crazy now, are you?''More than likely. I have you in my head mocking my every move.''Ah but you forget, a crazy person cannot, and will not admit that they are nuts. Simply stated, just because you say you're batshit doesn't mean you are. For one, guano doesn't have a consciousness - but also you're not crazy!''Crazy voice in my head seems to be pointing in the direction of Yes I am. What else would the voice in my head be telling me besides You're not crazy. If Im not crazy you shouldn't even be IN my head.''But I certainly have made your day more eventful. For example if I were to tell you to turn forty degrees, walk about two hundred feet, and take a right at the thicket of bullroses; you'll find a lovely patch of those flowers you're looking for.''And you're telling me this why exactly? Last time I took your advice, I lost five rounds in a row during a game of Shogi.''Because I play Chess, not Shogi; and that's not the point. I'm writing your story and so I say that that's the direction you need to go to find your flipping flowers.''What the hell is Chess? And wait, these flowers flips? What, are they Mexican jumping beans or something?''I can't use the explicative I intended to use. It gets blocked by the censors, and you're too young to know the word. If you want proof; here, watch. #@(&. See? You just get nonsense. Now go, get flowers, save princess.''I thought this was just a collection mission. And there's no princesses out here you stupid.... bah.... fine, I'll just go your direction. Maybe if I find an angry bear I'll tell it to sink its teeth into my head; see if it drives you the hell out of there.'Quote: Nevermind the dice roll; Shanzo said we were in bear territory and I jumped the gun >_< Quote: Line Count: Before: 125 + This Post: 58 [+35 int] = New Count: 228 Quote: Mission Step 1: 122 / 200

It seemed that Notwen also approved of the younger shinobi's idea of masking their sent so it seemed that they'd be going under that process. But in the same line of thought, he was told that if any of the bears got passed Notwen, it would be his job to hold them off from Cruxis. Without him even thinking about it, something clicked. "yes sir" He stated sharply with an sudden bow of his head. Then he realized what he was doing, bringing his fathers tendencies into his new life. Just as fast as all of that happened, Takeshi stood back up and started to scratch the back of his head. "Sorry..... old habits don't fade away...." He stated this in a much softer tone. He couldn't help it, he looked up to his family but didn't want to become carbon copies of them. He needed to be himself and the military drill sergeant is not what he wanted at all. As they continued to move, Takeshi felt something land lightly on his should, turning his head slightly he noticed it was Cruxis' hand. There was no threat as of this moment so he turned his head and continued onwards. Then Notwen stopped them, stating that they were now in bear territory while pointing to some markings on a few trees. Takeshi moved over to the claw markings and studied them for a moment, sizing the claw marks with his hands and judging the depth of the carvings that the bears made in the tree. As soon as he finished his judgements, he moved back over to the group and lent over to Notwen. "Be careful.... this is one oversized and very agressive bear, Paw markings show that his paw is larger then our heads by a long shot." He had no intention on scarring the younger shinobi, so he knew that this information might be a little hefty on him. As they continued, Takeshi noticed that the younger shinobi eventually took the point position. All he did was lower his head and shake it slightly in slight irritance. Maybe he should have informed Cruxis about all of the details that he told Notwen. He'd leave that information to be up to Notwen's descretion though. Then something odd started to happen, he noticed Cruxis starting to make his way up a tree. He hadn't a clue on what he was trying to pull, but instead of worrying about it too much, he decided to wait and see exactly what he was up to. Eventually he came rushing down, only to quickly slow his decent with what appeared to be nothing. Once he was back on the ground, Takeshi moved over to the younger shinobi and made sure that Notwen took the lead again. "Best idea to let Notwen take lead on this one alright?" He stated and then took his place in the tail of the group. This shinobi continued to interest and slightly surprise him, but he still knew nothing on his combat abilities, so nothing to be totally impressed about yet.

After he had delivered his piece of news Notwen watched as Cruxis and Takeshi readied themselves for what lay ahead of them. Takeshi answered in a smart militaristic manner and bowed his head, but swiftly apologized and in a softer tone stated that some old habits didn't fade away. The young genjutsu user began to breathe in and out. It took the dark-skinned blonde a few seconds to realize that Cruxis was trying to memorize some in the area, which he guessed would have been the trees since that was the source of the strongest natural odor. A few seconds later Cruxis placed one hand each on Notwen and Takeshi, then crossed his arms over his chest and placed his hands over his own body. When he claimed the jutsu was set, the three-eyed Uchiha raised his arm to his face and sniffed it. Surprisingly enough it smelled like the surrounding forest. This technique works like a really heavy chakra perfume. he thought, mildly impressed at the genin's skill. Notwen saw Takeshi head over to the claw marks. After close inspection it appeared that the bear that had made them was bigger than the average bear, and also more aggressive than the rest. When he heard that the creature's paw was bigger than any of their heads the dark-skinned blonde's lips parted into a devilish grin. " Now that's what i'm talking about!" he said in an exited hushed voice. " Let's see if 'Urso Brunov' here is a worthy adversary to test my new skills against." Ever since training with General Rai Oh, Notwen had been looking for an opportunity to put what he had learned to use. Almost instinctively the dark-skinned blonde began rotating the shoulder to his prosthetic limb in anticipation of what he hoped was an encounter with the over-sized bear. Cruxis floated above the trees and came down moments later only to be reprimanded by Takeshi. " I definitely agree with Takeshi on this one, Cruxis. There are a bunch of wild bears around and the last thing i need is for you to get mauled while i was close enough to have stopped it from happening." He patted the young boy on the shoulder. " Right now we are relying on your genjutsu to get us to the flowers without getting detected by the bears on our way there. As you are now, that's more than enough to be a big help. Don't jump ahead and get yourself into a situation that you're not prepared for. Trust me, i've experienced that first-hand." As he finished that statement Notwen recalled how just over a year ago he had lost his arm to Saikoro Daisuke. The shadow of a deep loathing washed over his face only to be replaced with a collected calm. " Anyway, let's get going before-" a deep, throaty roar erupted from behind them. The three-eyed Uchiha spun around and beheld the biggest bear he'd ever seen. At the moment it was on all fours, crouched and ready to pounce. The creature's frame was huge. Its breath came in audible ragged puffs and drool poured freely from the corners of its snarling mouth. " -something random like this happens..." said Notwen, finishing his last thought. The excitement of battle overcame the dark-skinned blonde who crossed his arms and stepped out in front of the others. " Alright, it's time for you guys to go ahead. Takeshi, make sure when i catch up to you guys Cruxis is in one piece." Not once did Notwen's eyes, which were now bearing his blue sharingan, leave the snarling hulk of a bear. Notwen wondered what made the bear return to the specific area. Quote: Line Count: Before: 254 + This Post: 32 = New Count: 286Quote: Mission Step 1: 180 / 200

Cruxis had timed his brief aerial scouting poorly, having arrived back to find the teammates examining some claw markings against a tree; from a very old likely very angry bear. The criticism to his running off was well-earned; and Cruxis tended to forget small details such as that when an idea hit him; tending to move directly to where he wanted to go without mentioning reasons to others. "My apologies... I thought maybe I could see the flowers from the air, but the tree canopy was too thick to see anything. I won't run off like that again." Cruxis gave a small bow, keeping a whether eye on his surroundings now with a large bear somewhere near. Cruxis's Ryuugan could pick up tiny details that most would miss; the fresh indentation in the wood, the moisture that still clung around it; and he could still see the hints of red that clung to the xylem around the claw marks. The wood had not died up yet; this mark was very fresh. Unfortunately Cruxis had only enough time to take in this information when the ear-splitting roar overtook them; sending a cold shiver down the gennin's spine. His hair stood on end, and it took a moment for Cruxis to calm himself and look to Takeshi with a nod as Notwen gave the order to go on ahead while he held off the old bear. It was time to get the hell out of there and let the chuunin handle the situation; they had their own job to do. Cruxis concentrated a map of genjutsu in the palm of his hand marking the surroundings he had managed to memorize and their current locations. At the very least they could track their way out if need be. "Watch our backs, I'll do my best to track and mark our path on my magic map... We'll be able to note where we've been and find our way back."His Ryuugan led the way in truth, Cruxis trusted it at the moment; the ability to pick out small details that otherwise would be ignored was invaluable this time. Had he taken care to notice earlier, they might have been able to avoid that bear and Notwen would not have had to hold off a bear; but that was in the past now; he had to look ahead; quite literally in fact, if they were to survive this and complete the mission successfully. They were on about seventy meters when Cruxis paused to get his bearings, before noticing a very large amount of tracks in the earth; the mud had been upturned and this sudden upturning and dry-out from air exposure left layers of cracks along it. This had to be a commonly used path for this sort of pattern to form; and Cruxis could hazard a guess that following along the thickets here that they would find the bears' nesting grounds; and by the same means, the flowers. Deactivating his bukujutsu, Cruxis crouched low into the thicketline and let out a whisper to Takeshi; "Here's our trail... There's a lot of upturning here, meaning quite a few large animals have made a seasoning home along this route... I'd be willing to stake that following this will lead us to the bear dens, and the flowers."Quote: Tracking Check: Int (120 *2)= 240 Your PC (240) vs Mission PC (200) = 40 40/10 = +4% Chance to succeed the check = 54% Roll 47 = Pass! It seemed that the the information that He'd just given Notwen actually got him excited. He wasn't sure why because wild animals were always supposed to be taken with caution due to their unpredictable nature. He wasn't sure why this was, but knew that it would prove if Notwen could handle himself or not against the wilderness. It was one thing to compete against humans, but the wilderness was something else. Then again, it had been several years since he lived in his very small village on the outskirts of the lightning country. Ether way, it'd be interesting to see exactly how things went. While he was thinking about his past a bit, Notwen was speaking to Cruxis about not going forward ahead of the more experienced shinobi. After that took place though, a huge roar could be heard that was relatively close to them. Instinctively Takeshi got into a low fighting stance facing in the direction of the roar. He could see the bear that he'd just described to Notwen and sighed. He figured that they'd need to deal with the bear, but then Notwen told him to head on with the young shinobi and make sure that when he caught up that Cruxis was still in one piece. He got out of his fighting stance and nodded to Notwen in understandment and headed off with the young shinobi. At this point, he'd already shifted his bone's density and form into a steel like plating all over his body yet still under his skin. He made sure to keep a close tab on the environment and where Cruxis was. He was walking so that there wasn't much space in between them just in case he needed to act fast. As it turned out, Cruxis seemed to have found the trail to the flowers. He nodded and started to slowly take point in the walk to their mission objective.

Once he was sure that Cruxis and Takeshi were out of harm's way Notwen began to circle the massive bear, which remained exactly where it was and kept its gaze on the dark-skinned blonde. Their eyes were locked into the other's never blinking. Then Notwen made the first move. He lunged directly towards the hulking beast while in his right hand a blue sphere of heat was growing to the size of a grapefruit. " Shura-hito Calor-" said the dark-skinned blonde just as the attack was going to land, but what happened next caught him off guard. The bear reared up on its hind legs and brought up its left forepaw in a blow that caught Notwen full in the abdomen. The force of the attack was so great that it sent him flying upwards through the canopy of pines and several feet in the air past the tops. If it wasn't for the vest he wore underneath his shirt, Notwen was sure he would have broken several ribs. I guess i'll have to up the ante if i am going to stop this fella... thought the three-eyed Uchiha as he used fire streams to right himself in the air, then launched himself downwards through the canopy. Since he could feel the bear's consciousness, Notwen angled his flight so that he would emerge several feet in front of the bear. By aiming the fire streams so that he curved horizontally, the dark-skinned blonde wove the seals necessary to conjure his fire clones. " Ninja Art: Running Riot!" they cried in unison. The bear was so surprised that it had no time to defend itself. Ten pairs of fists crashed into the front of its body with great force, but only managed to make the beast fly a few yards backwards and land heavily against a pine. An angry growl escaped from the beast's throat as it landed on all fours and shook its head. " Man, Urso, that fur coat of yours is pretty thick." said Notwen, shaking his hands which sting from his efforts. The other clones had disappeared after the technique ended. Running Riot was one of the dark-skinned blonde's new combination techniques, which he had developed in the past year. Even though the separate jutsu that made it up were easy to use by themselves, putting the two together made it more of a strain to execute them. I don't want to start a forest fire, so i can't use any of my fire techniques, which leaves me with few options... thought Notwen as he watched the bear begin to charge him. He quickly jumped out of the way and drew one of his twinswords in the same movement. " Balrog's Whip technique!" he whispered. Channeling his chain of limbo technique into the Hiramekarei's chakra layers, the dark-skinned blonde shot a link of emerald chains at the bear. The chins wrapped around the bear's belly and then began to spread all over the bear's body. Had the attack landed on anything lighter, Notwen would have been able to swing it around like a mace and then smash it against the ground. The bear was far too heavy for that approach to work, so he waited until it was covered in a thick layer of emerald before he attempted to prepare a technique powerful enough to destroy the emerald and the bear. A low rumbling sound caused Notwen to stop what he was doing. This was followed by several cracks appearing in the emerald. " No way!" muttered the three-eyed Uchiha in disbelief. The cracks grew bigger until a web of dark lines covered the previously perfect surface of the emerald. With a roar the bear broke free of its bindings, showering Notwen with glittering green shrapnel. The hulking beast wasted no time and charged at Notwen who had managed to draw the second half of his Hiramekarei. Crossing the blades and creating a chakra shield, the Uchiha braced himself for the tackle's impact, which sent him flying several yards into the forest. He stopped himself by forming large hooks from the chakra layers and catching himself on a nearby pine trunk, the force nearly dislocating his shoulders. I have to put an end to this... thought the dark-skinned blonde, beginning to move his arms in circular patterns and channeling the resulting energy into the twinswords. " Twin Sabers of Lightning Creation!" he cried, the chakra layers on each sword forming into sharp-edged blades of pure lightning nature chakra. Notwen dashed up the trunk of the nearest pine, then launched himself towards where the place the bear had tackled him. Upon sighting the beast, which had begun to follow the trail Cruxis and Takeshi had taken, Notwen jumped into the air. " Twin Bolts!" he cried and launched two bolts of lightning from his feet at the bear, which went through it and held it in place on the ground. Without waiting for the angered beast to break free a second time Notwen struck. " Breve Scizzar!!" The blades of lightning stretched to scissor-like points and without further delay brought them down in two overlapping arcs across the bear's neck. As soon as the blades worked through the bear's flesh, the dark-skinned blonde ended the technique and landed heavily on one knee. Twin Sabers was a technique that took a lot of time to master and once used left him extremely worn out. Replacing the swords in the holster on his back, Notwen rose slowly and turned to look at the decapitated beast. It now lay sprawled on the ground, the stump of the injury fried by the heat generated by the technique. It saddened him that the bear's life had to end in that manner, but the creature was a threat to travelers and citizens of the country. Bowing his head in reverence, Notwen proceeded to catch up with his the others.

Cruxis could notice the heightened aura of chakra in the air around them; his eyes glancing backwards for a moment before remembering the distance they were from Notwen; not to mention the trees obscuring practical long distance sight-lines; and instead glanced down towards his genjutsu magic map of the area; which still marked Cruxis, Notwen, and Takeshi's locations. The magic map was a basic technique and could only record general locations of its markings; but he could see that Notwen was now moving in their direction; Cruxis had to presume the fight had been over quickly with the burst of chakra that had been put out in the area. Thankfully the forest seemed intact; a good sign considering the Chuunin's fire elemental skills. Focusing on the task ahead, he could see the sleeping bears near them, and knew they would have to be careful if they did not want to wake them... Generally speaking, it was best to let sleeping bears lie. "Let's hope they're prepping for hibernation..." he whispered as he cautiously activated his bukujutsu, the chakra forming underneath himself in order to suspend in the air. There was a general problem with bears; mainly that they were angry when woken; generally hated outsiders to their territory, and could easily shred open human flesh with their claws. Their muscles could easily overpower any blocks that the young gennin could throw up; so he would have to dodge if necessary... Still, no use thinking about it or he would never make any progress on the manner. Holding his breath, the young gennin moved cautiously around the bears, hovering as carefully as possible as to avoid alerting the bears of his presence. Unfortunately Cruxis had calculated the odds of not alerting to sound, but not calculated their ability to feel a mass of chakra being pushed underneath someone as they floated around them. The third bear he attempted to sneak by twitched its ears at the change of pressure before opening its eyes to see the young gennin floating by, before letting out an angry yawn as it stretched and let out a low growl towards Cruxis; who at this released his jutsu, landing solidly on the ground in a battle ready stance... He couldn't contest its strength, but its mind was certainly the lesser foe. Quote: Stealth Check!
