The Fire country is marked by forests, helping to give rise to its ninja village "hiding in its leaves". The Fire Country is one of the largest ninja countries in the world, sharing borders with more countries than any other. It borders Grass, Rain, Waterfall, Sound, River, Tea and several unnamed countries. The Fire Country is home to many cities, including Konohagakue no Sato, Tanzaku Gai, Otafuku Gai, Otakame Sato and Tokkuriji.

Arina darted ahead continuing to chase the culprit in question. The young girl hadn’t often dared to venture outside the village gates, so the experience was fairly exciting to her. The area outside of the village was a plethora of towering trees of varying species and wildly growing foliage which made the visibility severely limited. She would have to keep concentrated and her vision narrowed onto her target’s movement if she was going to continue this. Of course, she wished her comrades weren’t so sluggishly responding to the situation which had occurred. If the two had kept up accordingly, they could have made quick work of this mission. [OoC: I broke the thread virginity. =o]

A soft groan passed through Sai's lips as he shuffled his way down a forest's dirt path. With his back hunched over, a raggedy cape strewn over his body and his trident wrapped up and tied to his back, the young man resembled more of a weary, old traveler then the intimidating shinobi he truly was. It was probably thanks to his dreary appearance that another man emerged from the shade of the foliage, with a kunai in hand he approached Sai and confidently held it up against the man, "Old man, if you want to live to an older life, I suggest you give me all your money." He said sternly, his body tensing up to show that he had all intentions of attacking should Sai not comply.

Arina came to an abrupt stop upon realizing the thief had ceased movement temporarily. ‘Why?’ the young girl questioned stealthily making her way closer to inspect the situation. It had seemed as if the thief had found another victim to scam. He looked to be an older man at first glance. ‘That b*****d,’ she gritted her teeth in frustration. She looked behind her to see that her comrades had still not been able to catch up. ‘What the hell are they doing?’ Turning her head back to the situation at hand, the young girl bit her lip agonizing over what decision to make. She did have the element of surprise to her advantage as the thief had not seemed to notice her presence.
Arina quietly pulled a kunai from her pouch and readied herself for battle. The young girl flung the kunai through the air towards her opponent. She darted out afterwards hoping to catch her opponent off guard if he was able to deflect or dodge the kunai. “You don’t mind robbing old, incapable men and women; however, shinobi begin chasing you, and you turn your tail and run. How despicable,” The young girl thrust her right leg through the air in an attempt to connect with his abdominal area. If successful, it would leave him open to more attacks.

A wolfish grin spread against Sai's lips, his bright, blue eyes glaring at the thief before him hungrily. "Is.. that so?" He said in a voice feigning weakness and exhaustion, his hand reaching to his side slowly to retrieve a weapon of his own but a glint of light caught his attention. Tilting his head quicker then an elderly man would be capable of, he turned his vision towards the incoming attack as he moved back out of the way assuming it was an attack towards him.
Instinctively the thief followed the old man's movement towards where the attack was coming and also managed to move out of the way. "You again?" He exclaimed in surprise his following retort silenced as he leg made contact with his stomach, pushing the air clear out of his lungs. However, not to loose his chance, he quickly released his kunai so he could grasp her leg tightly with both arms. He would continue to throwing himself backwards with all his strength in an attempt to force her onto his stomach where he'd be able to twist and potentially break her leg, if not at least injuring from the initial impact.

The thief quickly dropped his kunai and grasped her leg with both hands. “You act as if I had not already anticipated such a move,” The young girl grinned as he continued pulling her towards him. She propelled her free leg upwards aiming for the man’s jaw this time. Simultaneously, she positioned her right hand against the ground as pillar to keep her body steady, as well as easily maneuver her body. She was just a Genin medical ninja, so the longer that this fight dragged out would most definitely not be in her favor.
“Are you okay, sir?” Arina looked back towards the other man half smiling. She really should’ve been paying full attention to her enemy at the moment; however, she would not be able to put full effort into it if she was worrying about someone else’s well being.

As her second leg made contact with the man's jaw he quickly gave up holding onto the first leg and instead quickly moved his hands to his weapon holster. The moment his body slammed into the ground and the girl hoped away, he pulled out three shuriken with his finger knuckles and quickly slung them towards her legs before hurrying back to his feet. Using the back of his hand to wipe at his lip, he glared at the girl. "I'm going to enjoy skinning you..." He growled as he pulled out another kunai and held it at arms distance, his eyes carefully watching her as he allowed her to take the next move.
Meanwhile, Sai yawned softly as he motioned himself to a nearby rock, using it as a seat he idly watched the two fight. 'I wonder if either of them have enough money on them to pay for a bowl of ramen. I bet the guy does, being a thief and all, I might even score some nice goods if he's any good....'

Once given the chance, the young girl jumped back allowing there to be some space between the two. The thief quickly counter by blindly throwing a few shuriken in her direction. Arina winced in pain as they had managed to scathe the skin of her upper thigh. “I am going to enjoy skinning you,” The thief boastingly said taking on a defensive stance.
‘Of course,’ The young girl sighed, ‘He would feel confident playing it safe.’ She glanced towards the older man whom had decided to rest against a nearby rock rather than flee from the scene. ‘Perhaps, he is hard of hearing?’ The young girl questioned internally slightly confused by the situation. It would’ve been awkward if the man was unaware of the danger he had even been in.
Arina rolled her eyes quickly reverting her attention to the man before her. The young girl darted forward keeping close to the ground as she approached.

'Of course.... She's a shinobi, she's likely to win. But if she looses and I save her, oh... the reward~ Yum~' Sai joked in his mind, his head now resting on his hands as he propped himself up against his knees. The fight was beginning to grow dull fast, the man was loosing to the girl's pace so by taking a defensive situation and getting time to freely act as well he's attempting to change the pace... a smart strategy but a rather boring one to watch. The girl on the other hand had yet to do much but swing her legs around, the attacks made contact but there was a lack of power of finesse, so it was also boring to watch.
The thief backed up quickly, his hand quickly reaching into his pouch to gather a handful of small, spiked balls. He had already wounded one of her legs slightly, all needed to do was take advantage of that... With a flick of his wrist he tossed the weapons across the ground between the shinobi and himself, forcing her to either take a leap to get to him or dart to the sides. Should she take to the sides he would simply lunge at her with his kunai in an attempt to choose between getting impaled, or tackled to the ground while trying to stop the kunai. If she took the leap, he would use the chance to throw the kunai at her knees, the lack of aerial mobility and positioning would cause either her legs or mid section to get stabbed.

As Arina was nearing the thief, she noticed that he had scattered makibishi spikes throughout the vicinity to the man’s frontal area. He was really trying to maintain the distance between the two or perhaps, he had other reasoning. ‘What a simpleton,’ Arina mused with a grin upon her face. The young girl quickly threw down a smoke bomb which encased the area in a think fog which was barely able to be seen through. She then darted to the side of the spikes throwing another shuriken towards where the thief’s body had been only moments ago. When the thief would decide to defend himself, the sound of the kunai clashing would reveal not only the location of his body but of his weapon as well.

'That's no fair... I can't watch now~' A pouting Sai thought as he preformed a few hand signs, a pillar of earth rose up beneath the thief's feet sending him flying into the sky above. The pillar would stand to block the flying shuriken before sinking back into the ground as he would quickly through out a kunai of his own through the smoke cloud, the speed of the weapon would scatter the cloud into nothing as the weapon itself would miss the girl and imbed itself into the tree behind her.
The sound of blood pounding in his ears as his heart throbbed in his chest was all to much as the thief stared wide eyed at the sky silently. What had happened, where was he, had he died? All he could remember was he was fighting the girl a moment ago and during the fight everything had gone dark from a smoke bomb... had she managed to slay him right afterwords? Was that why he was flying through the sky like an angel... But why was he capable of feeling his heart... the sensation of realty, the winds, the sun... the pull of gravity? It was only then he realized he was no longer flying up but falling down. In a frenzy of panic, his body flipping and falling back to the earth as it crashed through branches and trees, he would tumble straight to the unwitting girl.

Arina was wide eyed as the air around her began to clear and the fog wafted away in all directions. ‘Was that a ninja tool that whipped past me?’ The young girl questioned as she stared at the empty spot where the thief had been only moments ago. She quickly turned to face the other man whom had been leisurely hanging around, ‘Did he do this?’ Perhaps, the young girl had gotten into much more than she was capable of handling. She had assumed that she was just chasing a petty thief. Of course with her luck, the young girl would find herself something more.
Suddenly, a body came crashing down towards the young girl. She quickly dodged to the side from pure physical response. Her mind seemed to be elsewhere for the moment. She looked down towards the thief who was hemorrhaging badly. She was not for sure what to do. Obviously bringing him in alive is optimal. Though, he was not her main concern as of this moment. “Who are you?” Arina inquired taking a step forward reverting her attention back to the older man.

'Damn.. I think I overdid it.' The man thought as he twisted his mouth and sucked his teeth to himself. With a sigh, he gazed at the girl from behind his shroud, "The victim? And I'll assume you're the heroine?" Sai said bluntly, his head tilting to be on only one hand as the other shifted to rest on his lap. Carefully he took in the area around him again, the weapons that were on the ground, the broken branches, the defeated thief and the weapons embedded in the trees around them... it was a decent arsenal to work with if he needed to fight, there was no need to waste anymore of his own ammunition. "Well, I'll leave you to your devices. Thank you, have a pleasant day~" He said carefully before letting his head slump and his eyes close, his breath became heavy and before long it would be evident that he was asleep.

The ‘victim’ rambled on for several minutes before his eyes closed and his breathing grew heavy. “Did he?” Arina questioned trailing off. She stepped even closer within full view of his face. The young girl poked at him for a few minutes, “He is sleeping. Really?” She was astonished by how quickly he had fallen asleep and in such an awkward position, as well.
“Now, I have two babies to take care of…” Arina groaned looking back towards the thief who was groaning on the ground still heavily bleeding. She quickly got to work binding the man’s legs, arms, and body against a large, towering Oak tree which was nearby. Afterwards, she began tending to his wounds. She would heal just enough to keep him alive; however, he would still be in an agonizing amount of pain. This man had stolen from the inhabitants of her village; she had no plans on playing the nice doctor.
“I guess I should wait on my comrades,” Arina stated whilst walking back over to the man who had fallen asleep. ‘What am I supposed to do with you?’ The young girl arched an eyebrow watching him sleep. It was not as if he had done anything wrong that she was aware of but still, he seemed suspicious. Perhaps, she was just drawing conclusions because she hadn’t suspected him to be a shinobi. She sat upon the rock pulling her knees up close to her body, as well as propping her arms up against her knees. In the young girl’s palms, she rested her head for awhile. She tilted her head noticing that the man did not seem to be as old in appearance as she had first believed.

Cracking his eye open slightly, Sai peered at the girl as she tied up and tended to the thief. 'So she's a medic, hunh. That makes more sense to how she was fighting earlier. Its very uncommon for medics to have combat techniques so they rely on small amounts of taijutsu to protect themselves... the exception being my brother who seems to be better at taijutsu then medicine.' He thought, feigning a slight snore so he could adjust his position more comfortably as he continued to pretend to be asleep. 'Its rather strange she's here alone but I suppose she got separated from her team, she'll be likely to leave when they get here but its more likely they'll want to question me. Either she'll pester them to leave me be or I'll just knock them out and be on my way..' He thought, hoping time would pass by faster then it was at the moment.
