Like any normal day, Juno was up when the sun was up. And most mornings he was either training, or goofing off. Today happened to be a training morning which he was spending running around the school grounds. Instead of his usual flashy hero-outfit, Juno was wearing a plain white long sleeves shirt and black jeans. (It was easier to wash after getting all sweaty from running for a number of hours.)
Juno was just coming up around one corner of the library when he noticed that there far ahead of him was a young girl, obviously a student. She had lovely flaming orange hair. He was a bit surprised to see her up so early in the morning considering most kids liked to sleep in and few people were morning people from his experience. Part of him was curious as to why she was up and about in the morning unusually early.
He grinned as an idea came to him. Speeding up easily on his long legs, Juno ran up from behind her and slapped her gently across the back. "TAG, you're it!" He shouted back towards her as he quickly ran passed the girl. Hopefully she didn't have super speed as an ability... That would be terribly unlucky for him.

Dani really enjoyed morning at the Academy. They were quiet and peaceful, which were things she had never truly appreciated before living full time in a house full up with super powered teenagers. The energy level on the average day were sometimes too much even for her to handle…
Danica was naturally an early riser. So, every morning, before most of the student body had even begun to stir, she changed into her jogging clothes and went for a run around the Academy grounds. Even though most people were still asleep, there were usually a few people to be found strolling around outside, mostly teachers and older students, and today was no exception. The redhead smiled as she passed someone she recognized, and kept jogging. All in all it was shaping up to be a pretty normal day.
But maybe not.
Just as she was passing the library, someone came up from behind her and slapped her lightly across the back. She jumped to the side, startled, and was surprised to find one of the professors speeding past her. What the-?
“Tag, you’re it!”
Tag? Wh-… Danica grinned, she did love a competition. So much for her relaxing morning jog… who wanted normal anyway? Without pausing any longer she took off after the teacher. He had a pretty decent head start on her, but she was fast, and she was clever. She would catch up.

Juno took a glance back at the girl he'd just 'attacked', in a sense. He grinned as she took up this opportunity to race with him.
In order to make things a little more exciting, Juno ran towards the training grounds where there were trees and obstacles and all sorts of things to hinder their little game, or at least perhaps slow the girl down. She looked rather speedy. He wondered what her ability was, though it was a bit late for that really. He'd already initiated this small battle without thinking about that. Hopefully it wasn't anything like fireballs or electricity. But he figured if that were the case, she'd already been firing away at him.
He jumped over a a few hurdles until finally they were under tall canopies of trees. Hopefully the archery system was still installed since when Juno attended. This course was easy for him, seeing as he'd trained himself for hours here as a teenager before. Though he wondered about how well his new acquaintance would do in this field of sharp projectiles.
Juno ducked, dodged and shot at things he couldn't avoid while taking a quick glance back.

The blond – well, mostly blond – man darted away from her and made a break for the trees. Heh. If he thought he was going to be able to lose her in there, he had another thing coming. She didn’t exactly stick to the main roads on her morning runs. The thick foliage did little to hinder her passage, but it didn’t slow him down any either. She cleared the hurdles – artificial and natural – until they came to a slightly sparser patch of trees with bare lower branches and a high leafy green canopy. This was probably a training area of some sort, which meant she should probably be on the lookout for– TRAPS!
Dani squeaked and tumbled out of the way as an arrow whizzed past her head. Arrows? Arrows?! Couldn’t it just be lasers like everything else at this bloody school? She could deal with energy weapons, but arrows were very much physical… and also very pointy. She was up on her feet and running after her (Insane!) professor, before the next distinctive ping sounded as an arrow was released from its hidden mechanism. She ducked behind a tree and heard the projectile burry itself in the trunk. By the time she was what she thought was half way across the field she had the hang of things. (Ping! Duck. Roll. Run. Ping! Duck-roll-run. Ping! Tree. Ping! Etc, etc, etc.)
Her instructor didn’t seem to be the least bit bothered by the arrows. In fact, it was almost like he knew they were coming from before they fired. Which, as he was faculty, was actually pretty likely. Maybe he had installed these things himself.

Well, well. She seemed to be holding up just fine on her own, wasn't she? He wondere what kind of training, if any, she'd done prior because she didn't get hit once it seemed. Though. He supposed if your life was on the line, you'd make an effort not to die.
He smirked. "How ya doin' back there?!" He shouted behind him before redirecting his attention to where he was going zigzagging between trees and bushes and other greenery.
He wasn't quite sure himself where he was going, but maybe out for a swim? Or a climb. Some sort of drudgery like that. He threw himself forward and tumble-rolled out onto an open plain/field where things seemed to quiet down. It was similar to an arena surrounded by trees. Battleground? Maybe he'd spar a bit with the kid.
Morning exercise, had to love it. He turned around to see where the girl had gotten herself into and decided to turn things up a bit by aiming a few paintball shots her way. And then he rolled backwards further out into the middle of the field where he splayed out and stared at the blue sky for a little while waiting for the girl to catch up. Wait a second.
Wasn't this tag? He wasn't supposed to be caught. Sprawling up in a moment, he dashed off once again across the field and sped down the steep hill that the field fell away to, down towards the sandy beach front.

Danica ducked, and twisted, and run, trying to get past this Field of Doom as quickly as possible. She had almost forgotten about her reason for being out here unit it called out to her from somewhere past the trees. “How ya doin’ back there?”
How was she doing back here? Oh, just fine, considering that she was running for her life. As she narrowly avoided another arrow (ping-duck-roll-run) she realised that this was actually probably very good training, all things considered. After all, she was not invulnerable to all kinds of attacks, and she wasn’t really all that strong, so learning to dodge probably should be pretty high on her priority list. And what better way to train than in a ‘real world’ situation. Its not like villains would give her any heads up. She watched an arrow wiz by and looked back up just in time to see a ball of yellow light hurtling at her face.
“Holy-” she didn’t even have time to curse properly before it impacted her arms, which had had only just managed to get up in front of her face. She felt the energy roll through her body and disperse harmlessly into the ground. It took her a minute to figure out where the new projectile was coming from, before she saw her teacher hurtling another one at her.
“YOU ARE INSANE!” Dani yelled, but she was grinning. This, she could work with. She reached out her palm and ‘caught’ the second ball as she rolled to avoid another arrow (she was going to have such awful bruises on her shoulders). The energy charged along her veins, making her tingle with the power of it, but she didn’t let it go. She focused the energy down her arm to her opposite hand as she rolled, the adrenalin pumping through her boosting its strength. As she rolled back onto her feet she swung her arm forward and sent the ‘paintball’ hurtling back at Juno, almost twice the size.
(( With him already so far ahead, it should probably just crash harmlessly into the ground somewhere behind him ouo . Also, Dani does not have very good aim at the best of time. If SA were a video game, she would have very high reflex/defence and a very low attack x'D . Although, maybe high damage. Also low HP. ))

'YOU ARE INSANE!' Juno vaguely heard the girl shout as he was laying there for a moment, he grinned at this declaration. He took pride in it of course. And it seemed like just as he was remembering it was tag, he rolled up in time to see the girl manipulate his ball of light into something even larger and shoot it back at him! Luckily for him, he'd just sprawled back up and the ball of light splattered against the ground a few feet to the left of him into a splash of light that quickly dispersed in an instant.
So... That was her ability, huh? Seemed useful enough. Well, far more useful in fact against almost any opponent it seemed like an advantage as long as she could maintain her control. It seemed as though she had a pretty good grasp though, enough to throw his own ability back at him.
Though now he was more distracted about the sand he was running across, since it began to slow him down. Why had he run this direction again...? Juno wasn't quite sure. He took a glance back over his shoulder towards the orange-haired girl. Swiveling around suddenly he threw out both hands like guns and shot light bullet after bullet towards the hill randomly creating a large mass of small darting lights like a net, fast and straight. It would be difficult to dodge simply based on the number and how close together they were and the range it covered. Juno kept the darts of light coming, looking forward to the rookie's reaction to this. Wondering if perhaps this attack would backfire on him.
((Okay Andy, that sounds good. xD I don't know where I'm going with this. But it seems to be going well I hope. *___*;; ))

Danica watched helplessly as the brightly shining wall of darts approached. Her run faltered and she skidded to a halt. “Oh crash.”
With hardly a moment to formulate a plant she, she stood her ground and brought her arm up to cover her face instinctively. Wait for it. Wait for it. With a sudden rush of wind she heard the darts start to wiz past her. Many of them made contact with her but they were absorbed dispersed before they could do any damage. She opened her eyes and shot her hands out in front of her, wrists together, palms open. Trying not to imagine what the darts hitting her skin would feel like to somebody else, she concentrated on keeping the energy in her body, and channelled it back down her arms. Yellow light shot from her extended arms like a laser from the barrel of a sci-fi blaster gun.
She maintained the narrow beam for as long as the dart-wall kept coming, and then broke back into a run as soon as it dissipated. That was so cool!
(( Well, it has certainly been pretty fun for me xD . ))

((Sorrysorrysorry. I know it's been weeks.))
As Juno stood there firing away, he observed what the youth was doing. Eventually, the darts of light stopped coming as he felt he'd been at it long enough.
The moment the beams of light shot out of her hands, Juno's eyes widened in surprise and enthusiasm. "That's so cool..." He whispered before dashing off again towards the water's edge. Her abilities were great defensively and her stamina seemed quite good as well. His powers vs. hers, it seemed like she had the advantage. The lasers of lights got him wondering about the limitations of his own abilities though, could he do that? He'd never tried... That would be an experimentation for another day. In fact... Juno wondered why he'd never really experimented very much with his powers in general. It seemed as though he'd decided shots were all he could do.
He had gotten quite into his thoughts until his feet started to get wet. Realizing he'd already met the water, he changed direction to run parallel to the waves. He took a glance back at the rookie, seeing exactly how much he could push this girl to.
((I have something good for after this post once she reaches the water too. Sorry this one's short. D: ))

Dani’s heart was racing as she chased after her professor. The waves of her aura must have been coming off her in waves, and she was sure that she would have been giving Juno quite the power boost, if he hadn’t had such a lead on her. She had never had this much fun on a morning run before!
As she reached the sandy shore she wondered what he might have planned next. So far he had put her in the path of arrows and energy darts, and it didn’t seem logical that he would just let up. She wondered if maybe he was waiting to see if she would attack him and, not for the first time, she wished she had a bit of innate offensive power. She loved her powers, but it was a bit annoying have to wait for someone to attack you before you could do anything.
(( Short post is short. And also six months late emotion_awesome . ))
