(NOTE: Backdated slightly!)
It had taken a bit of work to muster up the desire to return to the asteroid after what had happened last time. Last time she had visited, it had been so emotionally stressful that she cried. Ellie Spectre didn't cry. Even more importantly, Sailor Iris didn't cry. It was enough to make her wonder, did these memories have that much of an affect on a person? Were they actually important? Initially, the yellow suited senshi didn't think these memories were anything important, but something she casually paid attention to out of sheer curiosity. Now, it didn't seem like something she could just casually investigate.
The blonde stood there in the Iridian sands, looking over the bare landscape. There was so much sunlight and so much sand. Would it be worth it to try investigating the landscape again?
"...nah... I wouldn't be able t'get too far without somethin' distractin' me..."
So rather than set out to discover something, Iris did something which almost felt against her principles. She waited to discover something instead. She was still just as energetic as usual, so she couldn't just stay standing in the same place for too long. Soon enough, her toes were attempting to dig small holes with some sort of windshield wiper motion.
Was this a good use of her time? No. Maybe when she was home she'd complain about it to the mirror or something. Not now.
Eventually, as she stood there, something seemed to come into view, almost like how mirages seemed to appear out of thin air. Considering how many times the senshi had visited her home world and considering how many times she had not seen anything like this before, it most certainly seemed to catch her attention instantly.
It looked like an archway carved of some sort of pale stone or ivory. A part of her somewhere was glad this archway wasn't cliche and forming some sort of carved rainbow. Instead, it seemed like two columns were standing tall above her to both of her sides with an arch above her which seemed rather pointed in design.
Through the archway, she could see more of the dark sands of Iris, but behind it was something she hadn't seen before. A large black rocky mountain with a strange rainbow sheen to it was protruding from the sands.
Without even giving it a second thought, the teen turned around, as if to check what was behind her. Sailor Iris was expecting to see the sands she was used to with the sprinkling of broken and abandoned wagons. Instead, what she saw was her past home, and her past friend, Aque. The white Muncher looked at her with what seemed like a forlorn expression upon his long face.
"Oh no no no no... don't you give me that look, boy!" Her voice from her past self touched the edge of her ears, followed by a gentle laughter.
The reassurance didn't seem to ease the animal's expression, the blue and green eyed animal still looking at her almost like how a puppy would.
"Oh fine... only one more time though!" With that, the senshi's "camera" seemed to walk towards the animal until she was immediately next to him. Without realizing it, the senshi lifted up her hand and began to move along with the actions of her past self, reaching behind Aque's long ears and petting him.
The white Muncher let out a strange throaty sound of approval. His ear twitched and flicked, brushing against the girl's hand. Sailor Iris could have swore she felt that faint touch.
"Alright... now, you need to be a big boy... I'll be back as soon as I can. If you need water, you know where to get it." She pulled her hand back, then tapped him on his big subtly pink nose. "You better be good until I get back!"
He let out a bit of a groan, but reluctantly he pulled his head back so the girl could once again go on her way. Iris moved towards where the covered wagon was set, reaching in to grab a couple items. The first thing she grabbed was a large cloth that seemed very similar to the one that covered her wagon. There was a minor commentary that seemed to come to mind. Gay. She fanned it open and then covered herself with the past cloth, as if to try and protect herself from the sun. Once this had been tended to, the girl leaned in again and pulled out a second item.
This item was smaller and vaguely familiar. It looked like a crystalline sort of lamp, similar to the stereotypical genie lamps. However, instead of having a closed top, it was open like a gravy boat. There were intricate designs upon the object, something that one couldn't help but admire. Inside of the lamp was what seemed like water. Carefully, her hands picked the object up and held it close to her body. With that, she turned back towards the arch way. Back to the mountain. Her feet began to move her forward slightly, but then everything vanished. The mountain, the archway, the wagon, Aque, and the lamp, all gone!
It hadn't been mentioned, but somehow, Sailor Iris knew what she had just seen.
"...the Sacred Lands..." She had heard it a few times in passing in her memories, but now she had actually seen a hint of the lands. And now, she couldn't help but feel as if there was definitely something more important that had gone on in the past.
She stood there for a moment, once again gazing over the seemingly plain landscape again. Nothing happened, as it usually happened upon the asteroid. After several minutes, the teen sighed.
"...that's all yer gonna show me today... right?" With a half smile, the senshi accepted that as the answer. With the push of a button, the girl returned back to Earth.
