First I want to extend my warmest greetings in saying..." Thank You for joining Powerplay! What we'd like to do for you ( especially if this is your first time here ) is give you a quick over view of the guild and show you what we expect from our members. It's like a tour, but it's free and you don't have to worry about getting marooned on an island or bounced by oompa-loompa. If you've been in RP guilds before, you know how things are typically done, but then again Powerplay is not a typical guild, so stick around in case things get confusing anyways.
If you're new to Role-Playing, let me first start by saying, there isn't any pressure to rise to any great standard here... You can talk about just about anything here to pass the time between RP posts, or to take a break from pain-staking proofreading. Even spam is allowed, so long as material isn't against Gaia ToS or offensive to members. Just like your home, in Chat you have room-mates, and are deserving of equal respect so do try and get along. You've been here once already, to sign the Member Introductions thread [or are just about to because I reminded you]RolePlaying Forums: If you're an avid RPer here on Gaia Online, you're probably used to a simple system, wherein you'll find an Introduction, Rules, Character skeletons, Player Applications, and OOC posts all squashed into the first few pages and posts before the actual story telling begins. It's convienent, yes; but a hot mess, when it comes to organization. Powerplay adopts a system that is less often employed, but a much more tidy approach to organizing RP games [and doesn't clutter a thread creator's PM inbox]; put everything in it's place...Roleplay Workshop: --> go to ForumThis should be your first step as a beginner; more experienced RP creators will be able to flesh out their ideas fairly early on and typically skip the initial brainstorms you might start here, but for any who are unsure of where to take an idea, or just wanting to get your threads looking the way you like before posting it in the proper place, the Roleplay Workshop is the right place. In addition to testing threads, you may also make a designated thread to fine tune character skellys and post forms. Once you got your ideas in order, you move on to Roleplay OOC... Roleplay OOC: --> go to ForumIn this step, you create your first threads concerning your RP. First begin with a generalized OOC thread that will house your introduction to the plot and theme, character skellys, and rules for your RP; it should be a place where players and the creator can discuss the RP at hand. After that, you'll need a place to stash the accepted character sheets, so make another thread dedicated to that and your ready to begin your game. Roleplays: --> go to ForumSo here you'll find Roleplays that are active and moving steadily; probably the highlight of why this organization method works, youll never have to sort through a bunch closed threads to find the one that's started and active. All threads here should be Open and Active. OOC should be kept at an absolute minimum; here is where Role Plays become dynamic stories.Archive: --> go to ForumThe archive is a unique place, as it holds several different types of thread. First, the archive serves as the creative epicenter of Powerplay. Writing, Art, Photography, Videography; all these an more can be posted here to share with other members. Got a idea for a short story that finally found it's way to type? Post it here to get some feedback... In addition to sharing our creative passions, Roleplays that made an impression or was deemed a success but have come to their eventual, sometimes premature end, they are placed in the Archive where nostalgic players can walk through their old adventures.Trash: --> Contents LockedName says it all; it's junk.
