This is the fair warning announcement for anyone who has joined and never posted. Starting October 17, I will be cleaning out the member list of people that have never posted. I will try very hard not to accidentally delete our newest recruits, but the best way to prevent this is to please introduce yourselves in the Introductions thread.
Thank you for your time and please excuse the clockwork dust bunnies 3nodding .
EDIT: This is currently still being discussed. The above date may or may not apply at this time. I will update this when I know something further.
Also, the cleaning out would be applied to those that have been a member of the guild for longer than 2 years and have never posted unless decided otherwise in these discussions.
Thank you all for your patients.

Mind if I interject? Keeping the ghost children on the members list might be more beneficial to the guild. Some people look at member count as a measure of activity a guild has and could join this guild over another strictly because of that, and if nothing more, when guild announcements are sent out, for a small increase in the price, you in fact reach a wider audience. Instead of threatening the members with expulsion from this boat, perhaps more interactive activities should be considered and advertised as a means to draw back the old and bring in a jolly handful of fresh new recruits.
Just as a coin to throw in from my own hat, how about SP editions of Mafia, Assassin, The Resistance and/or Bang!? Some rules would need to be tweaked but not enough to make these games unplayable in a forum. Just a suggestive thought. pirate

Trust me, I'm not keen on it either. It's not meant as a threat at all. I'm only one person...
As for the suggestions, thank you for them. I will look at those shortly. I'll be honest, though. I've never heard of them.
As for the "ghost children," I'm mainly thinking of the ones that joined a few years ago and still haven't posted. I apologize about not being clearer on that. I was running on little sleep. I was thinking of the people from 2+ years ago. What say you all on this? I would rather have backing than not.
I will see about an announcement. I have yo find time to think of what to write in it. Well, that and I don't half do things ^_^.
Don't worry, Greasy, you're good ^_^.

I took a look at the games. I've seen some people I know playing variants on Mafia (Werewolf & Witch Hunter). They all sound like a lot of fun. I can see how some of them can be somewhat converted to a forum game, however, I can see how it can get held up similar to what has happened to the One-sentence-at-a-time story/exercise in the writings subforum. I would be all for a few games, but I'm still trying to figure out how to keep it active.
I will definitely give it a good think over. Any suggestions are definitely welcome!

When I've done cleaning in my guilds, I also looked at the profiles of possible deletions to see when their last log in was. If they hadn't posted at all, and hadn't even been on in six months, I generally dropped them.

I planned on doing something similar, except for I'm being more lenient on the last time they were logged in at all.

Ok, since there doesn't seem to be any objections to the booting of the "ghost children" that haven't even been on Gaia in 2+ years nor have they even posted, I shall commence with the task. I doubt it will be very many.
After this, I will try to write up something for an announcement to see if we can get our members that haven't check on us in a while to come back to us. I hope to have this done this week.
Any ideas for the announcement would be very welcome!
Thank you all for being understanding.

::: I noticed a lot of the old users who used to be active here have been on in these past few days but made little effort to post... Maybe an announcement to them? Hopefully they will read it and then mass clean out? I dunno lol just throwing my two cents out there. :::

I already finished what "cleaning out" I was going to do Tuesday. There will be a guild announcement, I just need to get it written out on paper before I type it up. Unless I can get caught back up on my homework in the next day or so for school, it may be another week.
