To say that Jericho was disappointed about not being able to attend the field trip any long was a bit of an understatement. He just had to break his leg a few days before they were scheduled to go to a boogeyman training facility of all places! That sort of thing was an amazing opportunity to train and test himself, but noooooo he went on and injured himself.
Well, at the very least, his closest friends had stayed behind as well. Though, he wasn't entirely certain why they did so. He didn't really have a chance to ask them yet.
With his leg in a cast, he just let out a huff while lounging on a temporary cot he had in his room. His treasure-bed wasn't quite as comfortable when he had a broken leg. The dragon needed a more even surface to lay on. Man this really sucked. Not only would the injury keep him from the field trip, but it prevented him from doing a lot of other things. He couldn't really work out, save for some arm exercises. And he also couldn't really fly. Well, he technically good but it wasn't really a good idea.

As if on cue, Riley opened the door to Jericho's room without knocking or even announcing her presence. She closed it with her foot, as she was carrying a tray in, and set the tray down on his desk before turning to give her best friend a thorough scan. She folded her arms in front of her, and just looked at him for a few minutes.
Then she bent in closed, a few of her tentacles lifting around to sneak under his shirt, and her chest rose as she took a sniff.
Ugh. She pulled away in disgust. You need a bath.

Hearing the door open up, Jericho lifted his head to see Riley walk on in. Since she was the only other person with the key to his room, he knew it had been her. Though, he was a little curious of the tray she held in her hands. What did she bring?
"Well sooorry," he said a little flatly in response to her. It wasn't as if he could bathe too easily right now. He couldn't even switch to his true form to take a lava bath without risking breaking his leg all over again. Though, he supposed he could have Gimbal help him out a bit..
"So what brings you here today? Aside from testing out how smelly I am."

Do you even have a real shower in here? She avoided his question, walking around him to look for a bathroom somewhere in the room.
On the tray was three very plump looking hamburgers. Raw, of course. Perhaps they, too, were meant as distraction.
She was behind him, and before he could turn she'd already reached out and plucked a few pieces of his hair. Could use a wash, too. She was assessing the situation, but rather clinically.

Now that it was sitting there for a bit, Jericho could catch a whiff of raw meat. Staring at the tray, his stomach soon let out an audible rumble. It quickly reminded him of how he hadn't had anything to eat all day yet. That might have something to do with the fact that getting food currently required him to get up and hobble around, which was not something he enjoyed particularly.
"Not in here. Gotta use the community bathroom down the hall," he said with a hint of disdain before raising an eyebrow as she pointed out that his hair could use some washing as well.

Ah. I hope they are not too.. well. I am sure they're adequate. Still. You know. If you want to use the one in my dorm, just hobble on over anytime you like. She produced a brush from a bag she'd been carrying, and started brushing the tangles out of his hair. It helped somewhat, though it still carried that shine of needing a wash soon.
How have you been keeping yourself occupied today? Anything interesting?

Looking over at Riley with a weak smile, he nodded to her.
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Further away but it'd.. definitely be more private," he said before propping himself up into more of a sitting position. He remained still while she brushed out his hair some, but it did confuse him a bit.
"Not particularly. Today mostly consistent of staring at my ceiling. Just.. kinda bummed about missing out on the field trip and all, you know?" he said.

Her fingers stilled while they were still caught in several locks, but just for a moment. They immediately began brushing in time with the comb again. Her face, though he couldn't see it, was unreadable.
Why would you be bummed about not going on a field trip? You know more than anyone just how dangerous it can be. Everyone who puts their lives in the hands of this school risks dying for nothing. Don't you feel better knowing you're safer, here?
She didn't know if she believed the school was any safer, but she was sure to instill the thought into her best friend, if it made him feel better.

"Well yeah.. but I mean they went to boogeyman training grounds. That's a huge opportunity to test myself!" Jericho said while turning his head back to try and look at Riley. Though, it wasn't easy since she was still brushing his hair.
It was a little odd to have someone else mess with that. He didn't really have any hair or fur to be groomed growing up after all. His Mom had to clean him up other ways to keep his scales nice and shiny and strong.
"I'm not too sure if I'd rather stay where it's safe. I mean, not dying is nice but .. I just want to be ready for if and when we have to face those humans again."

We are ready. Riley's voice strained, as though she was holding some emotion back. Was that not the point of Terror Warrior? And all of our time working together to find out the secrets others hold? We don't need a trip to a Bogeyhouse playground just to prove ourselves.
She dropped his hair, and her brush, and returned to the tray she had brought, pushing it forward. She seemed adamant about moving away from this subject. Eat. I did not venture into the hells of the cafeteria for you to ignore my labors.

When she put down the brush, Jericho furrowed his brow and stared back at her. She was holding something back. He could tell that much. Something was eating away at her but he couldn't quite put his finger onto it.
"Yeah and if you don't recall I ended up breaking my leg on the first stage," he said with a frown.
Letting out a sigh, he soon diverted his attention towards the burgers. Once more his stomach gave a growl.
"Thanks.." he said in a softer tone before grabbing a burger. The meat was indeed raw so he turned his head away from Riley to give the whole thing a nice char. At least breaking his leg didn't affect his ability to breathe fire or anything like that.
Once he had 'cooked' his first burger, he went on to start eating it rather quickly.

Riley prodded at one of the burgers when she felt the heat of Jericho's impromptu cooking, despite turning away from her. Ah. I seem to have only found ones that were not cooked enough to your liking. I hope you forgive me, I was in a rush to get away from Ginger. She always seems to stare at my tentacles - I do not plan to give her the chance to make a meal of them.
She was adept at the skill of moving away from subjects she disliked without the trouble of being noticed.
Have you been out of the room since you got here? If you want to take a walk, maybe I could help?

"It's fine Riley. Nothing a little breath of fire can't fix," he offered with a light smile. Jericho ate up the other two burgers pretty quickly. He was... after all, a very hungry dragon. But once he finished his little meal, he felt fairly satisfied. Hopefully that little extra FEAR will help push along his healing as well.
"Er... once so far. It's usually a hassle for me to get up and move around right now so I've been staying put for the most part," he said before a sort of light shown within his golden eyes, "If you don't mind helping a gimped dragon around, that sounds great."
Around then, a soft squeak of sorts could be heard as one of the pygmy dragons that took residence in his room bumped into Riley's leg. Apparently the little guy was sleep walking because it soon ended up walking into the leg of the cot while lazily stumbling around.

Of course I wouldn't. You did the same for me, and now I will return the favor.
She felt the push against her leg, and leaned down to scoop the small dragon up in her hands, bringing it close. Her expression was endearing, for a moment. Then she flickered her eyes to Jericho, and back to the sleepy dragon. This went on for a few moments, back and forth, while her expression went from endearing to troubled.
This.. this is a minipet. Right? You haven't been..
She couldn't even finish the sentence, it was so absurd.

As the little dragon was scooped up, it curled up comfortably in Riley's hands, settling there.
Smiling at his friend, Jericho soon blinked as her attention switched over to one of the smaller dragons in his room. He stared at her for a moment or so, looking between her and the pygmy. Was.. she suggesting that the critter was his kid?
"Eh? Yeah it's a minipet. If you look over at the pile closely you'll see a bunch of the pygmies crawling around. Not really sure where they came from. Guess the treasure attracted them."
