The Birth of the Bone Dancer

The Birth of Kasumi the Bone Dancer:

Within the land of Water there is a small unknown village, a man once resided in this village who was very special. Unknown to the other Villagers this man was a shinobi of exceptional skills with a very rare talent , a Kekei Genkai, this man was one of the few living people that carried the Kaguya blood in his veins.

The man had moved to the village in the hope of escaping the violence that ran through his blood and the brutality and scorn his unique Kekei Genkai brought whenever it was discovered. After living in the village for several years as nothing but a simple farmer he met a woman, they fell in love, and were soon married. The next year was a happy one. Until the day the man’s wife announced, with a smile on her face, that she was expecting a child.
The man’s wife could not understand his horror at the thought of bringing a child into the world who would struggle with the same demons as him. Nor could he bear to tell her his secret.

Needless to say 9 months later a baby was born. Despite his earlier misgivings about the child, one look at the innocent face smiling up at him and the joy in his wife’s eyes as she held the small ,but heavy, baby boy. His fears melted away.
The Kaguya Clan had gained a new member, Young Kasumi Hotaru (Kaguya).

Early Childhood:
The first few years of Kasumi’s life were simple ones very little out of the ordinary happened, except, on a cold winter day when Kasumi was 2 his jet black hair became streaked with white in his fringe.

Although this puzzled his mother she paid it little heed, assuming it was his father’s gene’s coming to the fore. She couldn’t have been more right. The white streaks had utterly horrified Kasumi’s father, much to Kasumi’s dismay who quite liked the streaks.

After that Kasumi’s father began to drink. Heavily. From then on life got progressively worse. By the time Kasumi was 5 his father was a full blown alcoholic constantly raving about demons hiding in the family bones.
One night his father was particularly drunk and attacked Kasumi beating him until he is barely conscious. The next thing Kasumi can remember is his mother laying on top of him her tears dripping onto his face, her blood pouring over his chest, the neighbours pounding on the door, his father’s ashen face then he blacked out .

When Kasumi awoke he was being carried on his father’s back fleeing the village that had been his home. After running for what had seemed like an age Kasumi and his father finally got away the next words Kasumi’s father said to him will forever be etched in his memory “My son , I’m so so sorry it’s all my fault , but never again ... after tonight . You and me both. We must atone for what we have done so we shall hunt down the scum of the earth. As Shinobi.”

The Bounty hunter years:
It was in these years the Kasumi learnt the truth of his Father’s past. It was in these years Kasumi began his training as a Shinobi.
Kasumi and his father travelled around the land of water collecting the bounty’s offered for wanted criminals it wasn’t long before Kasumi could freely use his Kekei Genkai.

Once Kasumi had developed control over his Kekei Genkai his father began teaching him the 5 dances of the Kaguya clan in the short year that he spent wandering with his father he never mastered any of the 5 dances.
One night sitting around a campfire, although he didn’t know it at the time, Kasumi had the last conversation he would ever have with his father. He asked his father why he wore a tattered old Cyprus kasa hat when the easily had the money to get something else, his father simply replied it holds all the dreams he once harboured and represents all he had lost.
The following day was the day Kasumi’s father died.

Kasumi’s father had gone into town to buy some supplies when he had been seen by a group of men from the village where Kasumi had been born.
When his father had not returned after a while, Kasumi went to town looking for his father only to find him on fighting for his life against a group of armed men, the men managed to overpower Kasumi’s father and force him to his knee’s allowing a tall man with a sickle to sever his head from his shoulders.
The horrified Kasumi ran to his father’s corpse screaming. This only served to attract the attention of the killers, snatching up his father’s Scroll case and Kasa hat, Kasumi fled for his life.

Entering the mist:
Kasumi spent the next 3 years aimlessly wandering the land of water looking for something to give him purpose, during this time he developed a reputation as a bounty hunter becoming known as “The Cyprus hat bone dancer”.

Before long his reputation and the rumours of his unusual abilities attracted the attention of the Mizukage of the village hidden in the mist. Four ninja were sent to investigate, one Chunnin and 3 Gennin.
When the Mist ninja caught up with Kasumi he was wandering between towns, The Chunnin decided he wanted to see the “Cyprus Hat Bone Dancer” in action and ordered the Gennin to attack. Kasumi managed to hold his own against all 3 Gennin and even managed to injure one before he was subdued.

The skill and fighting sprit the Kasumi displayed, although sloppy, impressed the Chunnin who recognized basic ninja training and decided to offer him a chance to join the village hidden in the mist.
Kasumi not knowing what else to do with his life and seeing the chance to further his Shinobi training accepted and was brought before the Mizukage. When Kasumi displayed his Kekei Genkai before the Mizukage it was instantly recognized as the Kekei Genkai of the Kaguya clan, former members of the Hidden Mist Village, and Kasumi was accepted into the academy to complete his training...
