Currently Discussing: Ideas What are things you want to see? Keep it vague enough that it's workable with other ideas, but specific enough that we understand what you're looking for.

This was discussed in the meeting
Space Cruise Time travel Cows (methane run space travel) Shakespearean influence
Kind of what we were going toward: Okay, so Liette and Rome are intereseted in each other, but then a surviviors from a crashed ship is taken on board. This woman dressed as a man (viola based character) piques both their interests (Rome's as a girl, Liette's as a guy). However, they're more interested in fixing their ship or rising in ranks than romance. Viola: space CIA tracking down hostile cow descendant aliens
Liette: Lost cow to aliens, obsessed over Rome initially, moves onto Viola Rome: Co-Captain, unwitting lackey to Captain, obsessed over Liette initially, moves onto Viola Captain: Evil cow alien, likes Rome because he’s a vegan Viola: CIA agent to thwart Captain’s plans, on and off drag, victim of Rome and Liette’s affections (daughter of Captain! But good alien cow)
Competant partner for Viola? Liette’s parent or brother? Already on ship.
Those of us at the meeting will explain more in depth later (especially me, I'm just very tired right now XD) I try to summarize a bit better tomorrow morning.

So we have a space cruise, we have forbidden love (sort of), and we have evil alien space cows.
Liette is a young alien farm girl from planet *something.* Little green men, oh how nasty they often are, have been known to steal cows, and now her favourite cow Rosie is gone! Oh Rosie! Why? To make up for it, her family takes her on a space cruise. On this space cruise, she meets a dashing young assistant captain, Rome, and they both fall madly in love at first sight! Oh it is truly meant to be! Not even that crashed ship being taken on board could--"hmm? Who is THAT striking woman coming off of the crashed ship?" Rome asks. And a young romance is broken apart. Oh well.
As it turns out, that striking woman is Agent Viola, member of the interplanetary CIA. Her reason for being here? Well that's classified information (The Organization of Alien Cows for Human Enslavement was in town, and the IPCIA isn't fond of them). However, depending on what the situation calls for, she is constantly switching her hologram projector to switch between her female and male personas. While her female persona is attracting the affections of Rome, her male persona has caught the attention of Liette. What a twist!
As it turns out, the very Captain of this ship is heading the evil organization that Viola has come to thwart. He wants revenge on humans for enslaving his ancestors (as alien cows are descendants of good ol' earth cows)! The Captain is actually rather fond of his assistant captain Rome, who is a vegan. He treats Rome as an unwitting lackey. "Oh Rome my boy, could you go get me a bomb?" "Certainly sir, though may I ask why?" "I have some nasty pests I really must be rid of." "Oh, okay!" "Good boy!"
Viola, of course has a partner. This partner was on board the cruise, and has to be a rather competent person for the job. Who this is, we're not certain of yet, though we discussed the possibility of Liette's mom/dad/brother/sister...a family member who would have been on the cruise with her.
We also think it would be awesome is Viola were also the Captain's daughter. She's a good alien cow. What, did you think they were all evil? You speciesist!
We still need another character or two, but this is what we had at the end of last night. It was something everyone who showed up to the meeting could agree upon, keeping some things from the old plot, but overall, becoming something entirely different. As you can see, we still have Shakespeare influence (A bit of Romeo and Juliet, 12th Night, and Hamlet), but it's still it's own story.

So... I thought of something random last night. We could make it not all that obvious that Captain Cow is the evil one and frame another character for most of the plot. I like frames. Anyway~ thought I'd put that up here.

Technicolor weapons is a ust in ANY sci-fi scenario ever since Star Wars...
Also, I like frames too... they hold up pictures! biggrin
Joke aside. I feel like we're crossing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliette with Servant of Two Masters on accident, so why not do it a bit more purposefully and include a duel between Viola and Romeo for whatever reason?
(For those of you unfamiliar, Servant of Two Masters is a comedy style play also written by Shakespeare, modeled after the Comedia Del Art'e style of playwriting where there's a uniform group of character styles archetypes and the characters wear masks of their archetype. For more information, feel free to ask e, or look it up. I don't mind answering questions in the least. smile )

I'm thinking we should have one of our characters be the program of the ship~ since we have holograms anyway, and she can tell us distressing news (if we have it) and use dated pop references! "I can't do that, Rome."
Also I like the duel idea. I think it would be easiest to make Rome feel like the bad guy. So Viola could want/need to take Rome out first before getting to Captain Cow.
Frames are amazingly awesome. I don't think I could sit on a wall my entire life 0.0

I had a small idea to give a little ground floor to the plot. Day one could be a character introduction kinda thing and help people get to know the room and introduce the weapons and what not. Now this is where my idea comes in, on day two the cruise could land or crash on a planet where everything is just crazy. Clocks floating in the air, the sky turns different colors, I dont mean like a drug effect world, just a world where the bizzare happens. I think that could give alot of ground for working with, its atleast an idea to have in your pocket at least xd . Day three is the day the plot wraps up etc, which is obvious depending on what the plot is. I just thought it was a good idea.
Now, I also remember us being told that the whole shakespeare idea was a no go from bleeding I think her name was? Did we get approved for it again? If not we may have to stick with original ideas, like tech weapons, the cruise idea, flying cows, etc. As for a plot I have these ideas, -Cruise ship crashes on a planet -Aliens invades the ship -A space race against a passing by alien ship -A black hole or meteor shower -Cruise ship malfunctions -We go into hyper space!
Stuff like that crossed my mind and I wanted to share it with you guys. So tell me what you think, any comments? Likes/Dislikes?

Stuff like that crossed my mind and I wanted to share it with you guys. So tell me what you think, any comments? Likes/Dislikes? It wasn't Shakespeare, so much as borrowing so heavily from Shakespeare that was an issue. We've brought it down to a level where we're borrowing certain ideas, but overall, it's its own plot. I'm going to say have to say no to crashing that cruise. We've already got a crashing ship involved, and two may be pushing it into too much repetition. What I personally was hoping to do was make the plot involve the pursuits of Liette and Rome, the mysteries of Viola, and the evils of the Captain. Something we discussed was that the Captain wants to enslave humans, and causes trouble on the ship, and Viola is there to stop him. Each sub story would kind of twist around that. If that makes sense to everyone. Obviously there's a lot more intricates to be discussed once we assign characters. Character introductions typically occur on day one as well. It's the shortest day, and perfect for getting the ball rolling, so to speak. There are also introduction and bios in the first pages that help. Also, those ideas you've listed are interesting. We'll keep them considered and see how they fit in when we discuss the exact goings on.
