Out of all the outposts in the Surrounding, the one Frederick St. James had spent the least amount of time in was the Chronos outpost. It was the dwelling for the Princess of the Zodiac, the place where she resided when she was not on Earth. A dilapidated castle with cracked stone walls, faded red carpets with worn golden threads and towering white pillars, the Chronos outpost was easily the largest.
Perhaps Frederick St. James had not visited this particular place much, but Celsus, Page of Chronos, now felt an obligation to do so.
Which was why, on a morning soon after his awakening, he found himself doing precisely that.
He did not know the princess very well. After all, the only time he had actually spoken to her had been during the fight on the spider youma, and even then it had been very brief. There had not been enough time to resolve anything, to even get to know the young woman that he was bound to protect. All he knew was that she was pale haired and pale skinned, and that in her true being the mark on her forehead bore a remarkable resemblance to those on Celsus' own clothes and the medallion around his neck - and that when she had talked with him, she had had a gentle, but firm countenance.
Other than that, he felt quite at a loss regarding the princess. Especially since there was a distinct familiarity of her, despite the fact that Fritz St. James had not known her beforehand, other than a brief glimpse during their time out on the rainbow road of the surrounding.
It was probably for that reason that Celsus felt slightly nervous. He was, after all, new at this - in a sense, at least - and the last thing he wanted was to make a fool out of himself in front of the Zodiac Princess.
His boots clicked on the smooth marble floor of the Chronos Castle as Celsus made his way through the Holding Room and into the main part of the building. He bypassed all of the rooms here, however, and took the stairs that led upwards. Once he reached the second floor, he again disregarded the rooms here, and again took the stairs, this time to the third floor.
And it was here he stood - just outside of where he had heard was the floor where the Knights of Chronos had once been held. Celsus' hand hesitated on the door, fingers stretched towards the handle to push it open, but he could not quite do it yet.
What if they made a mistake? What if I'm not who they think I am?
His thoughts, as ridiculous as they were, kept tumbling around inside of his mind. Celsus shoved them away, squared his shoulders, then opened the door and stepped inside to meet the princess.
** I hope the location is okay and that he's allowed on the third floor; if not, I can just edit <3 **

As Chronos had once found out before, it was difficult to suddenly remember something that seemed important enough to not forget. It tugged at her heartstrings, made her feel incredibly guilty, because if it was inherently important, she would have remembered, wouldn't she? But then again, there were so many things she still did not remember about her past life in the Surrounding. There was no use beating herself up about it; she had learned to deal with things as they came, no matter how unexpected they were. There is no use forcing memories to come. They will come when the time is right. This was the advice she had given others and something she herself had to follow.
Upon exploring the Knight Floor more thoroughly now, Chronos had found a room with a table tucked away in a corner, and many chairs stacked up on each other. Presumably where the Knights had once gathered for meetings? No flashes of memories came even as she tried to trigger them by gazing about, and so she had to settle with her theory for now.
"Celsus!" She whirled around to greet the Page with a smile as she heard the doors open. "How are you faring?" Chronos had only ever met one Knight properly before, and was still uncertain as to how exactly they worked. But it didn't matter. She would learn. Celsus was part of the Zodiac Family now, and she welcomed him wholeheartedly.

The fact that the princess had not seemed wary of him when he entered made Celsus visibly relax, his fingers absently smoothing down the front of his shirt.
What did one say to a princess, anyway? The side of him that was used to conversing with people, thrived and enjoyed any sort of conversation with any sort of people had somehow shrunk away, leaving behind an anxious young man who did not really know what he was doing.
Then he felt rather stupid.
I am who I've always been, after all.
Shaking his head as if to clear it, Celsus strode across the glossy hardwood of the Knight's floor towards the young woman who stood there, a smile on her face.
"Good afternoon, Princess," he said cheerfully, and took her hand, giving her the same greeting he had when he had awakened and was meeting (or re-meeting) her for the first time - a brief kiss to the back of her hand.
Once he let go of her fingers, he linked his own behind his back and rocked back on his heels, smiling brightly at Chronos.
"I'm faring as well as can be expected, in such circumstances," he said, letting his shoulders rise and fall, a mildly rueful expression on his face. He glanced around the expansive room, eyes alighting on the dusty table in the corner. This was his space - or rather, the space of the Chronos Knights in general.
The thought gave Celsus a little thrill of excitement, despite his anxiety, but he turned back to Chronos. "How are you, Princess? Doing well, I hope?"

"Considering the circumstances, I'm doing okay, I guess." Chronos replied, with a smile, gently squeezing Celsus' arm. "Can you believe that I actually had forgotten that I once had Knights, until I saw you?" There was a sheepish laugh, but Chronos felt that it was something that she had to confess. Hopefully, he wouldn't think poorly of her for it.
"I mean, my memories are pretty much fragmented here and there, so I always thought it was just the Zodiacs, Zue and me. And Eon." The last two words were added on softly, and Celsus might not even have heard it if he wasn't listening closely. "But I am glad to remember, of course. The Knights are part of the family, and I welcome you, and the others as well." Honestly, there was a little bubble of excitement inside Chronos to imagine Knights being awakened, and it felt as though that the Zodiac Court was slowly piecing itself back together again after its losses.
