Opening Prompt:

It was a sudden and otherwise unexpected occurance - a dramatic flash of light that then streaked across the night sky. The initial assumption was that it had been a meteor or a falling star, but that was before the explosion. Whatever it was or whoever it was, had crash landed in the most inopportune of places, inflicting large scale damage on a number of warehouses within Slateport City. Obviously the authorities had been called but when they arrived they discovered no one at the scene - instead, they were left in the company of a very large crater with a peculiar vehicle abandonned within.

The news crews only needed mere seconds to get wind of the story and within no more than an hour, the media had descended upon Slateport City. It was a complete circus as numerous trucks lined the streets and the once bustling market town was now dominated by the presence of camera crews and reporters. Any witness was invaluable, whether their account was fabricated or not it made for impressive ratings and as such, it wasn't long before the television stations were broadcasting some rather colourful news stories...

"Earlier this evening at approximately 6.30pm, Slateport City was subject to a close encounter of epic proportions. As the city prepared for sleep, the sky was lit up by a streak of light followed by an almighty explosion. While the authorities have kept the majority of the information largely under wraps, eye-witnesses have stated that an UFO - that's right, a UFO has been seen at the crash site.

We took to the streets of Slateport City to speak to some of the residents, many of which witnessed the incoming vehicle as it made its rather dramatic descend. Here's what they had to say -"

Such a bizarre news story reached all corners of the pokemon world and only those who were not in possession of a television and happened to live in an area devoid of technology, would have found the reports easy to miss!

Anhur and Fredrik, his trainer, had finally been able to take a trip to another region of the world. It was such a wonderful trip for the longest time, what with the Sigilyph seeing other Pokemon he'd never seen before and learning their stories.

There was just one thing he never accounted for that had happened...

While he had been leaving the Pokemart with snacks for him and his trainer, brilliant lights much brighter than 10 watts (the max before he gets a splitting head ache and can't see very well) assaulted his sensitive ice blues. Loud screams belted from his mouth. It was not a fun moment for him. The bags in his arms had been dropped and spilled all over the ground. It took about 20 minutes before Anhur could see again, and by this time everyone was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. No one knew what in the world that light's source was.

Even though Anhur was supposed to be back by 7, he had to go and investigate what it was that had caused the light. The more curious part of himself just couldn't shake off the incident and he to- no, needed to find out what had caused it. He wasn't sure how or where to go, but the Sigilyph was determined to find out what it was.

Fortunately, the events that transpired hadn't caused any significant upheaval in Celadon City. On the contrary, the only indication that anything had happened came in the form of the news report that elected to disrupt the movie that had been playing on the TV. This wasn't something that was of immediate concern to Narcissus as he hadn't been watching it in the first place, instead it he had left it on to act as a distraction for the number of gijinka he happened to have 'adopted' over the course of the last two weeks. Well, he hadn't so much adopted them as taken them under his wing to avoid anymore catastrophic disasters that would seriously dent his profit margins - with the exception of his dwindling sanity, everything was progressing rather smoothly.

Alas, the growl of discontent that escaped from the lips of Porygon did cause him to look up from his work. Red eyes sweeping above the edge of the laptop screen, he fixed his gaze on the disgruntled gijinka and slowly but surely followed his line of sight to the source of his discontent. Unbeknownst to the Snivy, it appeared that Insidia had become rather absorbed in whatever movie he happened to be watching (something to do with Deoxys from what he recalled) and the interruption wasn't appreciated. It was rather that Insidia was provoked in such a manner, but every now and then there would be an occasional tweak of humanity within him, particularly when routines, rules or procedures were interrupted.

Eh, but was it really a surprise? A Porygon, by definition, was a series of rules, in very basic terms that was how a computer program functioned and when rules were breached, errors occured. Narcissus could only assume that this, in very simplistic terms, was the reason for Sid's discontent - perhaps he was of the impression that the TV would break permanently and he would never get to see the end of the show? Alas the Snivy really couldn't afford to ponder over the inner workings of yet another oddball, and instead, shifted his attention to the news report on the screen. If the news channels had deemed it necessary to interrupt scheduled shows then it must be good and he used the term 'good' rather loosely.

Sure enough, Narcissus was not to be disappointed and the longer he watched the report, the higher his eyebrows rose. According to the reporter, a UFO had not only been sighted but had also crash landed in Slateport City. As of yet there were only very grainy and unclear pictures to be seen, but even from here Narcissus was aware that something wasn't quite right...

The Snivy chewed on his lower lip as he continued to watch the story unfold, leaning back in his chair with his arms folded and expression still skeptical, it was clear that he wasn't sold. Alas, with various elements of the story not adding up, his curiosity was piqued for a very different reason. While he would bet good money on the fact that it was not an alien vessel, it was certainly something and he wanted to know what. Narcissus knew all too well that there was money to be had in possessing useful information, and more importantly, there was money to be had in retrieving that fallen vessel as well!

"Sid," Narcissus finally broke his silence and spoke over the rather monotonous voice of the human on the TV. Stretching out a hand, he saved his work on his laptop, shut the window and spun it round to face the Porygon. "The sooner you find out the details on what that thing is, the sooner you get your movie back," he stated and tilted his head to the side.

For a moment, the Porygon peered at him in puzzlement before at last shuffling slightly nearer and plugging the peculiar chord behind his ear into the computer.

Narcissus would have the details in no time...

Moirai shivered where he stood in the crowded streets, wet, and irritated; his hair plastered to his face, and arms wrapped around his slim frame. He practically snarled as another rush of people swept by and nearly ran him over in the process. Whether he usually enjoyed crowds or not this was simply too much! There were news crews everywhere, and people wanting a piece of the spotlight..or a piece of the truth...

The footage reel and surrounding story was on in every shop window, every home, and only the deaf dumb or blind could have missed this little piece of news. Moirai was almost beginning to wish that he suffered one of those afflictions. He'd not been present to witness the actual event. In fact he'd spent the last few weeks ship hopping all the way from Lillycove to Slateport; enjoying the islands along the way and the general enjoyment a cruise allowed, before docking a short time ago in the local harbor.

The news had reached them before they'd even touched dock, and the moment it had everyone had immediately left their cabins and crowded at the railing. All searching the skies amidst the increasing rain in hopes of catching sight of the mysterious UFO. Moirai included; as much as he hated to admit it even he wasn't able to resist the urge to step out and take a look. Caught up in all the excitement as information came streaming in via dex's and phones and even the captain himself sought to make a small announcement concerning the event. The news blasting loudly throughout the intercom system.

The more wild and varied the stories pouring in became; the less Moirai wanted to believe in them, and the more he regretted stepping out in this sort of weather. There had been no way to escape the crowds though, or the hyper hustle from the deck and out into the streets; dragged along by the tide of eager passengers and hungry news seekers. Maybe it wasn't all bad though. Moirai really hadn't expected his final stop in Slateport to be this exciting, and had in fact been planning to ditch the city by whatever means the moment he stepped foot in it. Now he was beginning to reconsider..

"Once I get something warm in me I'll deal with this." Moirai muttered to himself as he slipped beneath an awning and started hunting for the nearest warm building. Coffee first, definitely coffee, and then exploring. A nice little drink joint would be the perfect place for him to chat up the locals away from all the bad weather. Someone out there had to have really seen what'd happened...

The conditions were phenomenal. The pouring rain was fully welcomed by the Piplup who was now leaving the small house to which he was renting space from for just a few days. This town he'd never been to before. Having saved up from work, he used at least half of it to even make the trip all the way to the region and town. But he never went somewhere unless it had a purpose.. a reason to be visited. This one was no different. Clad in all his usual ware, long cloak fluttering, turning, and blowing with vigor as the wind pressed against him, the water showered endlessly, giving a sense of power and energy to Felek... he could easily manipulate the water to remove itself from him at will, even repel it, but... why would he? He was a Water type after all. This was his element. His calling. He'd heard the news... all the commotion, the hub-bub. But it wasn't of that much interest for him. What did it even have to do with him? To say in the least, he just didn't care. He was here for just one reason. The Oceanic Museum. Perhaps it could give him clue's, and/or idea's of how to get back home. Maybe there'd even be pictures... history.... the idea made the tips of his fingers tingle, water droplets peeling over and hanging from them slinking into slender, graceful forms, and dance in intricate designs. It was a subtle, but clear expression of his bottled up excitement. As he approached the museum, plenty of people were exiting to intermingle with the already dense gathering crowd around him. Felek spared a small glance to them, watching as all started to draw to the scene of the crash... fools... what was interesting about that..? That flat expression didn't change as he passed by the anxious human's in all their glory... As he entered the museum he found it to be bare. Even lots of the staff had went out to join the mass. Well... at least it was even more quiet... With that, he took to strolling along inside, eyes not leaving anything unglanced.
