Quote:

Character Name: Nefertari
Minis Account Name: Byagane319
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Monster - Sphinx
Natural Ability/Abilities: Flying, claws, minor immunity to hexes and curses. Her FEAR is an aura that makes people think she knows their secrets and distracts them during a fight.

Quote:

Character Name: Sharra Eldewaithe
Minis Account Name: Sephiros < the Festive >
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Demon - Nergal
Natural Ability/Abilities: Underworld Decay ( able to form weapons that do decay damage from his own body ) & Deceit ( the ability to hide most of his natural form )

Quote:

Character Name: Draven
Minis Account Name: GrnGriff < the Bloodsail Admiral >
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Demon - Raven Mocker
Natural Ability/Abilities: Draven can shift freely between the form of a large raven and a 'humanoid' form.

Quote:

Character Name: Iltzmyr'ree
Minis Account Name: moonlit raven
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Reaper: Warlock
Natural Ability/Abilities: Summoning: can summon a familiar to do their bidding. If the witch/warlock already has a familiar, they can summon an additional one. This familiar is usually demonic in origin, and comes with a bad temper to boot -- but at least they provide an extra boost to your spells! That is, if you can get them to cooperate with you.

Fear: Aura of failure: Things just don't work right around Myr; candles go out, homework goes missing, eye-pods randomly skip songs, things like that; nothing that can't be blamed on coincidence at least at first. It's mostly concentrated on him at this level, though when he concentrates, he can occasionally cause it to effect others.

Quote:

Character Name: Aksaja
Minis Account Name: MandaGaia < the Trap >
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y2, Monster - Lightning Dragon
Natural Ability/Abilities: Natural Ability - Aksaja can shapeshift into three 'basic' forms: humanoid, half-dragon (humanoid base including extras such as wings/tail/claws), and full dragon. Shifting from humanoid to half-dragon doesn't take long but from either humanoid or half-dragon to full dragon takes him a few minutes
Other Abilities - flight (when he has wings), he's fast lol, clawing things 8B
FEAR - Mini lightning bolts! At this point, a 'normal' shock could induce a few seconds of paralysis. Smaller shocks immobilize limbs, and if he had time to concentrate longer, the paralysis would last longer/possibly lead to convulsions/etc.

The first room the group steps into nearly conks one of the taller party members in the forehead, bearing low ceilings that cannot be flown in and are warmed by the glow that is coming off of the floor. It is rooms such as this one that were at fault for the scareling games of 'The Floor is Lava'. Because truly, it is just that. Lava. Warm, bubbling, and ...very warm. You think there might be flaming piranha skitters in there. There is only a 6 foot wide platform on the side of the room the five are standing on to explore for now. However, the floor itself seems to shift underneath the party's feet and small cracks can be seen in them.

Beyond that, however, the room seems almost... normal. As though it is trying to persist being a room despite the fact that the floor is threatening burning and pain upon the party in question. It seems for now, there is nowhere you can go. A look around this side of the room gives a glass coffee table, two large armchairs, and a couch. They all seem rather comfortable.

On the table it seems, should one look, is a thin sheet of glass. Picking it up, a few pieces of it fall off and shatter - leaving incomplete instructions to the readers.

Invisible Path across floor.

F;1, F;2, E;2, D........., ;1

Are those...directions?

Unfortunately for him, Aksaja happened to be the one that nearly knocked himself out on the ceiling - which was to his mind a bad start to this whole thing. He swore softly and ducked down a bit, wings hunched in as well. Eyeing the room then, he frowned as he moved a bit farther in. Oh this just looked . . . wonderful. Wait, was that lava? It was ******** lava. Greeeaaattt. Hmn . . . at least they didn't have anyone ice-based with them here.

"This looks like fun," he muttered to the rest of his team as he moved cautiously to look out over the floor. There didn't seem to be any obvious way across that he could see and once again he found himself wishing that whoever set these things up wouldn't keep on and on making it impossible for winged students to actually USE their wings. Okay, yea, sure that might make things a bit too easy at times but wings were supposed to be an advantage in this sort of situation Jackdammit!

With a low grumbled sort of growl, Aksaja glanced around again and noticed the little sitting area. Were they teasing them now . . . ? This just seemed ridiculous. Still, it was worth a look. Heading over that way, he tilted head upon seeing what looked like a piece of glass on top of the glass table (overboard on glass, much?) And though he tried to move carefully as fingers plucked it up, a few pieces still fell to the floor and shattered. He winced at that. Whoops. Now what the hell was this . . . instructions? "Hey guys, come look at this . . . "

The warmth in the room was the first thing Draven noticed. Then he noticed the way Aksaja was moving--the ceiling was quite low. Very low. It made the raven-mocker uncomfortable, he didn't like feeling so crowded, especially from above. Can't let it ruffle my feathers, he thought as he moved to have a better look at the room.

The lava--Was that real lava?! He'd never seen real lava before!--was likely to be the more pressing issue anyway. Clearly they were not going to be flying over it...hopefully they were not expected to swim it, either. It was quite warm. Did give a nice glow to the room, though. Of course, it would be more pleasant if the floor beneath his feet seemed a bit more solid.

Draven turned his head when he heard the glass shatter. It looked like the dragon had found something.
"Interesting," he said after moving closer to Aksaja and the glass he'd found. Draven glanced at the lava then back at the glass. Red had said something about a puzzle, hadn't she? "Think it's a clue to getting out of this room?"

This was nothing like what he was expecting. The inside of the room felt out of place from the house's appearence but then again, they didn't exactly want to advertise just what this place was. That would be bad.

He bounded in after Aksaja and Draven, the lowness of the room not bothering him any.

"How'd they get the lava in the room?" Myr wondered outloud, a little curious, and then made his way over to the table. There were a few glass shards on the ground, and he hoped that they wouldn't need them. "Are there any sort of instructions with it?"

Nefertari was amazed that such a room could exist in such a seemingly wood made structure. The heat didn't bother her so much, after all she was from a desert area, but the smell was horrible. Bleh, lava smell. She followed her group in, ducking as she was rather tall.

"Great Seth you'd think they would at least warn us a bit. Ah well, lets see what we've got," she went to the dragon right as the glass shard smashed.

"Gah! Well it seems we will have to play the game of chance here," she picked up the pieces and examined the shards, "we have to move from point to point and hope we don't get hurt. But there is a path and these are the first few direction. Hmmm...."

It was a puzzle, she liked a puzzle. It was also a game of chance, which weren't always her favorite. She examined the first few that they were given and looked the floor over. Slowly plotting in her mind. She figured that each move had to be two steps a piece and it hand to change direction. She quickly formulated a pattern in her head.

"Ok guys, here's my idea. F; 1, F;2, E;2, D;2, D;3, C3, C;2, B;2, B;1, A;1. We are never on the same letter twice and the same number twice. At least thats what the pattern looks like to me. What do you think?" she showed them her idea.

Draven looked at the glass, then at Nefertari and the group, then at the lava. He couldn't see a path...but it made as much sense as anything. If they couldn't fly and couldn't swim...they would have to walk. That was what the glass was telling them, wasn't it? Was that their challenge? Finding a secret path?

"It seems like a good theory. Makes as much sense to me as anything. Who wants to be the first to try it?"

Aksaja watched as the others all entered the room and a few of them came over to examine the partial clue that he had found. Tilting head, he looked from the floor to the clues and back again. Then swallowed nervously. Well, he was the oldest of them all . . . and thus probably the toughest.

"I'll go," he said, raising his hand just slightly. Taking a deep breath, he stepped out onto the first space listed on the instructions that he'd found. F;1, . . . then in quick succession he moved to the others that were actually listed: F;2, E;2. Then he stopped. And carefully eyed the path ahead before stepping onto the first of the "mystery" spaces, D;2.

D;2

It appears that stepping on D;2 is safe!

Aksaja let out a breath he'd been holding at that and glanced back behind him to the rest of the group. "So far so good . . . " he murmured, and then in quick succession attempted the rest of the path that Nefertari had suggested.

After all, he was pretty sure that he would know if one of the spaces wasn't safe and hopefully he could back up before getting too badly hurt.

Here goes nothing. D;3, C3, C;2, B;2, B;1, A;1 . . . . . .

The Rest of the Path

It appears Aksaja made it across without burning himself (while Pach sits here and baffles over how people can read her mind of her path-patterns, dear-lord).

AKSAJA IS BEING REWARDED FOR RISKING HIMSELF FOR HIS TEAM.

Nefertari watched as the brave older student wound his way over the path she had created. After all if he got her hurt it was her fault as she made the path out. But....he....did just fine. No burning dragon scales. She blinked then clapped.

"Way to go Aksaja! Come guys, lets go!" Nefertari walked her way across the path next and sighed. She was glad she had been right. That also filled her with a bit of good old fashioned pride. She had figured it out on the first try! Her parents would be proud. Her brothers would just say it was a baby test, that any of them could have figured it out. Then she would hit them and many bandaids were in the future.

"Where to now fearless leader?" she grinned at him.

"Hurray," he cheered, when Aksaja made it across. "That was a good job with the pattern, Nefertari." He grinned at her, and then followed after them cautiously. It wasn't that he didn't trust the dragon, no, it was the lava flow that he didn't trust, but he made it across safely.

"You know," a voice whispered into his ear, "Next time, you should send me across."

He nodded, and then glanced around. "What do you think they'll throw at us next?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 10:28 pm

Aksaja blinked himself when he stepped safely onto solid ground on the other side of the lava. He had . . . made it? No pain, no falling into hot lava, no nothing? Jack this was easy so far! Then he winced inwardly and mentally kicked himself for that thought. Probably their next test would just be really damn hard now . . . damn.

Still, he couldn't help but grin at his teammates as he watched all of them follow the same path across the lava. "Who knows," he murmured, glancing around a bit nervously. He hadn't been able to see a door or anything from the other side of the room, but now that they were here . . .

Draven watch anxiously as Aksaja made his way over the floor. When the dragon made it to the other side, he nearly jumped with glee. They seemed off to a great start. "Great work, guys!" he said to his team.

He was a bit cautious when he stepped onto the hidden path after Myr, taking care to follow the same path that his other teammates had already braved. The lava was still warm, after all.
