Damn, damn, damn! Muzzle scrunched back into a frustrated scowl, Fuma was having a.. rather odd.. battle... with her wand. The silly thing was shooting off sparks every which way, little bits of pink and white being flung about. It had been going on and off like this for about an hour now, and damn it, it was annoying! "C'mon, stop! Stop, stop, stooooop.." Dropping her wand onto the ground, Fuma moved to cover the source of the near constant sparks, putting both of her front paws down on top of her wand in an attempt to stop it. "Ow!" Only to have the bottoms of her paws scorched. Damn it, they were hot sparks now?!
Never having received any sort of training or advice from the mother she had inherited the wand from, Fuma obviously didn't have a clue of what she was doing or how to stop this, but.. Well, she wasn't about to admit that to anyone! That would just make her look sillier!... Right?.. Right.
So here she was, running around her wand (still placed on the ground) and leaping at the sparks it zapped out at random. Fuma scrambled to smother them all out with her paws because, obviously, forest fires weren't cool.
...Yep. Simply admitting that she didn't know what she was doing would definitely make her look silly.

Tribe life could be so boring sometimes that he decided that traveling would be in his best interest. After all, even though he knew he would stay in Caledonia to be with his rather large family, and only growing by the minute, taking a break was healthy. Thinking about it, he didn't know who was worse, his mother or his grandmother. Both of them had 7 children already and still wanted more! Deities save him. More Aunts and Uncles, and more brothers and sisters. Likely they would all drive him mad. Dealing with just the litter he was born into was enough. Malik and Abbas had the tendency to get on his nerves more then anything.
Sighing heavily he tried to turn his mind to more pleasant thoughts. Yes, he was free of them for a little while and didn't have to deal with anything other then feeding his own belly. Twas a small comfort, but enough to calm himself.
After walking for several hours through the forest he noticed strange lights in the area to his right. He was strangely intrigued by the appearance of the small lights and thought he should investigate, but the voice in the back of his mind warned him to be cautious. His training had drilled into him the importance of never allowing your guard to be down.
That was a recipe to get one's self killed.
So cautiously, Umar moved toward the small lights, slinking up behind trees to hide his presence until he was ready to be known. In all his years of training and growing up in a Tribe, nothing prepared him for the sight that made his eyes bug out of his head.
"Eh?!"

It was during the moment Umar had made his way closer when Fuma sent herself skidding across the ground. She had lunged at yet another firey sparkle, only to misplace her paw and go flying. Fuma let out a small noise, something close to a frantic squeak, as she tried to regain her footing.. and failed. Landing with a loud "thunk!" against a nearby tree, she manged a half-hearted groan. "Ugh.. Ow."
Expecting a small fire or two to be started up by now, Fuma whipped her head around to look at her wand.. Only to find it shooting out less sparks. How odd. Those sparks seemed to be calming down quite a bit! Definitely less of them being flung around.. Well then! That was good~
Her mind taken off of the weakly sparking wand for a moment, she slowly rolled herself off of her back, giving a shake of her head. This was not how she had planned to spend her afternoon. At all. Shaking her head once more, Fuma turned her gaze to the surrounding area, searching the woods quickly for.. someone? Or something? She could have sworn she had heard someone! She obviously wouldn't have stumbled otherwise.
Bringing herself to her feet, Fuma shook her head one last time, trying to get rid of the lingering dizziness from her tumble. Her mother had always told her to be on guard at all times. So she would!... Dizzily. Carefully moving herself closer to her wand, she discreetly made sure to glance around. "...Hello?" The vixen called out cautiously, stretching a paw out to smother a weak spark before turning her attention back to the matter at hand. "Someone else out here?" Was there really someone around? Were they.. a possible threat to her?
Eh.. If there was a threat, she'd deal with it. She could handle herself!.. Kind of.

Apparently the lights he had been seeing were sparks coming off of some change stick looking thing. Honestly twas the most bizarre device that he had ever encountered in his life, that and the damsel that was scurrying around the forest like some frantic bird. Strangely she reminded him of a bird, and his thoughts wondered if she had wings whether or not she would be hovering.
Shaking his head, Umar cringed as the vixen ran into the tree. A twinge of guilt hit his conscience. If he had not spoken, she would not have spooked and hurt herself. His training warned him to remain hidden until he discovered whether she was a threat or not, but chivalry demanded that he help her if she was injured seeing as how it was his fault in the first place. Sighing, Umar came out of his hiding spot and walked into the clearing.
It was then that he noticed not just the panicking vixen but the sparks were dangerously close to starting a forest fire that would no doubt kill both of them. Without thinking, Umar lunged at one of the sparks smiting it out before it could ignite a bush. That had been a close one.
No time to relax however he leapt in the air and rolled on the ground using to clothes to smother another spark. Realizing what he must look like to the vixen he tilted his head toward her and inclined his head in greeting, trying to seem as nonthreatening as possible before attacking another spark. Good fortune seemed to be on his side because he noticed that strange stick didn't seem to be sparking as much.

Needless to say, Fuma hadn't been expecting something quite as... impressive as this fox. The way he leaped about like that and how he moved? Oh! Leaping towards a stray spark, she quickly snuffed it out with a few swift bats of her paw, making sure it had been properly put out before turning her attention back to the male. Pfft, no run of the mill fox could move like that! That.. He... Well, he was very impressive. She couldn't really think of another word to describe it. About to speak to him, she noticed yet another spark, quickly moving over to it and smothering it out.
Giving a sudden hiss of pain at the light burn she received, Fuma pulled her paw away, blowing at it lightly before giving the blackened fur a gentle lick. Sure, the silly sparks were calming down, but damn it all, they were still hot as ever! Licking at her paw one last time, she looked back at her wand, noticing at last that it had pretty much stopped sparking. "Finally.." She let out a short sigh, padding over to it and scooping it up in her teeth. Then, eyeing the stranger for a moment, as if trying to determine if he posed any harm, she gave him a curt nod of her head in greeting. Fuma only gave that simple nod, unable to speak with the wand held between her teeth. Nosing at the inside of her hooded vest, she quickly tucked the wand into one of the inner pockets.
The wand would be alright in her pocket... For now.. Maybe?... U-unless it started an unexpected magical fit again.. Er, she'd seriously have to keep her eye on it, juuuuust in case.
"Thanks a lot for jumping in like that. You helped out a lot~" Her attention fully set on Umar now, Fuma offered a friendly smile. "Probably would have taken twice as long, y'know, with just one fox running around." More than happy at the moment, now that her wand had stopped acting up, she gave a few wags of her tail. "Can I ask what you were doin' out here? I haven't seen too many other foxes out this way.. er...?" Her last sentence trailed off as she realized that he hadn't said his name just yet. With a soft little giggle, Fuma turned her smile into a bit of a toothy grin. "My name's Fuma."

While he was busy with snuffing out the sparks, he couldn't help but notice the vixen, and mostly worry. She was going about putting the sparks out wrong and she was going to...Och. Too late. Sighing, Umar took out the last spark then looked at the female sadly. There was no doubt in his mind that she had ended up burning the underside of her paw. It would be tender for some time, and depending on how badly it burned infection might seep in and cause more harm.
Though medicine wasn't his specialty, he was after all a warrior not a shaman, Umar didn't think that he would be much help to her in that regard. Pausing in his thought process he listened to her speak so that he wouldn't miss anything she said.
"I apologize for startling you before, Milady.....I did not indeed to cause you to crash into a tree." He bowed his head in an apologetic way. "I just happened to be traveling through the forest when I spotted the lights and came to investigate...."
Eyeing said stick leery, he drew his attention back to the vixen, "It is wise to hold that dangerous contraction so close to your face. Are you not afraid it may start spouting flame again and burn your face?" Burning such a lovely face seemed a waste. He thought to himself, then wondered where that thought had come from.
"Fuma..." An interesting name, though she was an intriguing maiden herself. "Tis a pleasure..." He bowed his upper body to the ground, "I am known as Umar."

Fuma gave a shake of her head and let out a soft chuckle, the toothed grin still on her face. Bowing, his attitude, the way he spoke... My, wasn't he well mannered~ And Umar? Such.. such a foreign name! She hadn't ever heard of a name like that before. This was all.. interesting. Very interesting... It didn't hurt that he was rather good looking. Well, from what she could see, since his face was surrounded by his white hood. For a moment, she wondered what color his eyes might be underneath there. Did he have any scars beneath that hood? Eye markings, maybe? What color was his hair? Dark like his tail, perhaps?... Those actions of his and the growing curiosity about what lay beneath that damned hood certainly kept her attention. This was... interesting.
"It's quite alright, Umar." She said, slowly changing the smirk into a polite smile once again. "I admit, I would be curious as well, if I was wandering through the woods and happened to see random lights flashing like that.." She raised a paw - her burned one - and gave a slight flap of it in the air, a quick little motion to tell him that there was no need to apologize, nor a need to be so formal around her.
"Ah... hm.." Noticing that his eyes were now aimed at the pocket she had stowed her wand away in, she pursed her lips slightly. "I.. guess that could prove be a problem, yes." Fuma nodded in agreement, eyeing her pocket for a short moment before looking back to Umar. "Very smart of you to bring that up. I probably would've just shrugged it off and continued on my merry way." Chuckling quietly under her breath, she let her smile grow a little wider. "Woooow~" The vixen drawled out, giving another chuckle before continuing, "Only a moment with you around, and you're already turning out to be a rather helpful fox. Much more helpful than some of the other foxes I've encountered~"
Alright, brief moment of flirting over. Now... what to do about her blasted wand? Biting lightly at her bottom lip, she tried to think and come up with a solution. It wouldn't do to keep it out in the woods like this, with all of the dry brush and assorted things to catch a flying spark.. Ah hah! She'd thought of something. "Umar.." Fuma started off simply, turning to look at him, giving a flick of her tail, "Would you care to tag along on a walk to a nearby river? I figure that being close to water will help out with that spark problem.. Way less fires to worry about, hm?"
He had been nice enough to join in and help out when her wand was sparking every which way, so perhaps he was friendly enough to join a girl on a stroll? Heck, maybe he knew his way around this place! "I mean, you don't have to, and I'm not sure of any plans you have, but I figured that some company would be nice.."

Umar noticed that while she spoke, then vixen continually looked at his hood. Though it was not uncommon for him to get stares regarding his odd appearance this time however was different. He felt himself get anxious, wondering what she was thinking, did she like it, or did she think that he was hiding a horribly disfigured face. Many times vixens had thought he must be horribly ugly under his hood and that was why he hid his face, and Umar had never cared enough to set them straight. This was different. Though he didn't know why.
Shaking his head of his thought train he focused on what she was saying.
"Well I couldn't help but notice that stick of yours has the potential to be dangerous, and it is far too close to your face for my comfort. It obviously must have some worth to you since I do not see you tossing it away so breaking it is not an option. Putting a cloth over it entirely will only cause a fire should it chose to spark once more..,....Hmm..." Umar tried to think of another option that would prevent further harm coming to the female, though his brain came up short suddenly. Is she...flirting with me?!
He looked at her stunned, No. It wasn't possible. No one in their right mind flirted with Umar. He was stoic, plain and hid most of his appearance. No fox had ever shown interest in him, not that he minded of course. That is what he kept telling himself. It didn't matter that no one but his family liked him, he didn't need friends...or a girlfriend....or a mate.....or children....As his thoughts continued down that path he felt his mood sink lower, and lower until he wanted to curl up in a ball in a dark room.
"Mm!" Once again the vixen took him off guard, "You wish for me to accompany you?" He cocked his head to the side studying her through his hood. Granted he couldn't see colors or much detail, but he could see shapes for the most part. He tried to focus on her face but couldn't see her expression.
"Yes..." He cleared his throat, which suddenly felt very dry. "Some company would be very nice. It would be an honor for me to escort you to the nearest river Lady Fuma."

Oh, look, that flirting on her part had actually gotten through to him! Sure, his eyes were covered by his hood, but you could just tell by the way his lips had shifted. Mother had always told her to pay attention to all the little details and movements other foxes made. Yes. Fuma was starting to get it.. Oh, it was far too easy for her to startle this Umar! How... how cute? Hm. Cute wasn't a word she would usually use, but.. Well, yes, the way he reacted to her flirting was cute! And he had called her a lady. A lady! Lady Fuma.. In all of her travels, she hadn't ever come across a male like him. Ever. Ah.. How neat. She kind of liked him already~
Letting a slight smirk sneak it's way over her lips, rather pleased with his reactions so far, she gave a simple nod. "Yes, please." Fuma sat up, taking care to not put too much pressure on the paw that had been burned. "I'd love it if you could accompany me~" Her wand secured and stowed away for now, she relaxed just a little more. Not having it freak out and shoot off sparks everywhere was nice. Hm~ Making sure not to apply too much pressure to her injured paw, she worked her way over to him, giving a flick of her tail.
One flick.. two flick...
On the third flick of her tail, she brought it up a little, letting the light ends of her tail tuft brush against his shoulder ever so slightly. "To the river, then?~" Wiping the smirk off of her face and putting on her usual smile, Fuma gave a slight motion of her head. "I hope you don't mind me walking alongside you, Umar. My wand and the sparks from before.." ...Oh! Hold on a minute. The poor guy didn't have a clue of what a wand actually was, from the way he had been talking this entire time. Mm.. How to explain it? "The.. ah, stick from before? 'S a wand. The wand and a few of the sparks from it managed to burn one of my paws a little." Her little explanation done, Fuma gave her tail a few friendly wags.
Oh, this would be fun!

Umar watched the vixen beside him. He was of course still worried about her burnt paw, but she appeared not to be putting too much pressure on it, which was good. And she didn't seem to be having a very difficult time walking, also good. So why was he so unnerved. It was unlike him not to have his emotions completely under control Obviously there was something wrong with him to have him so anxious. No vixen had ever caused such feelings to stir inside him. "Hm?"
Suddenly a sharp shiver raked up his spine as her tail brushed across his shoulder. What the hell had that been about?! No doubt it was a mistake on her part, that wasn't what alarmed him. What did was the fact that he reacted, and so intensely. Yes, that was it. Something was definitely wrong with him. He needed to be checked out by a doctor.
"Of course...Please after you Lady Fuma." He inclined his head respectfully, hating how husky his voice came out. "No your presence beside me is....enjoyable..." He swallowed hard. Enjoyable, it was pure torture. Every time some part of her brushed against him his stomach flipped, and his muscles contracted. Not only that but he had the strangest urge to reach out and touch her. Absurd!
"Wand?" Umar tried the word, sounding strange to his ear. "Aye i did noticed that it burned your paw. I was most concerned about it. Does it pain you much, milady?"

It took all Fuma had not to burst out in a feminine giggle. "You like my company? Ooh, wonderful then~" Oh, the poor guy! Maybe flirting with him so much wasn't... wasn't the best idea in the world. It seemed like she was toying around with him far too much. 'I'll tone it down just a bit then.' She thought to herself, tail giving a friendly wag - not a flick or touch like... like last time - as she looked over to him. "I feel like we'll get along just fine."
He was concerned about her? Well, that was... sweet. Awfully sweet. Hm. Being thought about like that was rather nice. "Ah, it doesn't hurt too much, no." Fuma gave a shake of her head, giving a small smile. I don't think it's all that bad. "Nothing a good soak in cold water can't fix, right?" Letting out a light rumble, a little something between a purr and a chuckle, she shook her head once more. "I should be alright." Watching the placement of her paws and making sure to keep a good eye on her steps, lest she hurt herself even more, she grinned a bit. "Fear not, dear Umar, I'll live."

"Aye....I want your company more then adequate." Umar chanced a look at her. And almost regretted it right away. Deities, why was the sun making her hair shine in such a way that it appeared as though there was a halo over her head? Frowning slightly, the male twitched his hair behind him. "it is a comfort to know that your paw is not troubling you overly much, but I would still feel much better if you soaked it in the river for awhile. If nothing else it will soothe the sting from the fire."
The male turned to walk off, but then he paused and looked back at her. She was taking it easy, naturally, but her paw must still be aching. Shaking his head, Umar questioned himself on why it was so important to him. He barely knew the vixen and yet....something about her.....he cared greatly whether she was in pain of not.
"Tch." He groaned, head sinking forward.
"Hop on my back and I will carry you, Milady."
