The room is silent. Nothing appears out of the ordinary...but the room is completely dark, there isn't anything in here to light your way at all! Except a faint glow has started across the room. It seems like a cheerful glow, almost like fire...hey wait...that IS fire. The fire is spreading out towards you at a rapid pace, luckily you can now see a door across the room. Unfortunately for you the door appears to be locked with a magical slip of paper with an intriguing puzzle. For some reason, you find your attention focused on a strange four by four grid filled with puzzles. There is a strange sort of something to it, a compulsion if you will. It's as if the puzzle wishes to be solved...

It was logical that because Danny was the first one to leave the group, that she was the first one to bust into the room (quite literally, she slammed the door open dramatically and everything). At some point she had let go of Rikki and Moure's wrist, mostly because they were slowing her down. Nothing like two boils to be dead weight.
When she did enter the room, she was greeted with total and complete ecstasy. This room was ON FIRE.

Best room ever. Best room EVER. Danny immediately started bouncing up and down, and shouted back to the rest of her group. "GUYS THIS IS THE BEST ROOM EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR." For obvious reasons, the rest of her group certainly wouldn't have to think so, but for Danny, this was the greatest way to start a field trip. And those knobs had said this would be difficult!

Roch almost ran into her. He did look around her to see what the jack she was talking about. Darkness, fire, a door--huh. That piece of paper looked really interesting, he thought, moving around her. But there was fire in front of it.
The last time he'd tried to go through fire he'd wound up burning and dissipating a few times before he made it through. He had just bought these pants!
"Hey, Danny," he said, jumping to the obvious conclusion. "Can you get us that piece of paper?" he asked, pointing at the paper on the door. It looked like some sort of puzzle. And since this was a test, he figured they would probably have to solve it. But his pants didn't need to suffer in the meantime! Not when he had a fire demon on hand!

Gargantuan was thundering right on Danny's heels, his mouth stretched open in a stupidly wide grin. "BEST ROOM EVEEEEEEEEER!" He crowed enthusiastically. There must be boats inside, of course! For a minute, the swamp beast just bounced up and down with Danny, the floor trembling under his weight. Then, G actually stopped to look at the room.
There were no boats.
In fact, there was the exact opposite of boats. There was fire.
G stopped bouncing.
"Oh." He said uncertainly, realizing that the fire was getting brighter, for some reason. "Not best room ever." Not at all. The fire was eyed, but Gargantuan just shuffled away from it for now. "Paaaaapeeerrr...." Maybe it was tasty. Maybe that was why Roch wanted Danny to get it.

Rikki stumbled into the room, having lost his balance some time shortly after Danny had let go. It was like a trailer careening out of control after being unhitched from a semi. Danny was the semi, and Rikki was the poor lost trailer about to somersault into...
Fire.
"Jack jacking Skellington!"
He skidded to a halt inches from the flames and backpedaled like it was the jaws of death he was facing. It wasn't quite that bad, but it was close. Of course, Danny seemed excited. Yay. Luckily, G was on his side. "Yeah buddy. Not best room ever." Not only would those flames surely but it was getting kind of hot in here. He could already feel the prickle of sweat down his spine from his brush with fire.

Meanwhile, Danny was rolling around in the fire. When her friends walked into the room, she gave them funny looks, much like the ones they displayed on their own faces. Why were they so upset?
Oh right right. Something like this had happened at movie club too, hadn't it? What was it Shehk had said ... not everyone ... not everyoneeee ....
Not everyone liked fire! That was it! Danny frowned and stuck her tongue out at Roch. Regardless of how she reacted, she did as she was told. She was a tad proud that this was her job. None of them could do this without her! Well maybe G, if he ducked his head, and had Moure on his back because th-...
NO THEY COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT HER.
She looked at the note. It had weird symbols on it. She tried poking it in various spots, but nothing happened. Well this obviously was useless. She crammed the paper in her pocket and started banging on the door. "PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR," she shouted, "MY FRIENDS DON'T LIKE FIRE AND THEY WILL BURN UP AND DIE, SO COULD YOU PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR?"

Moure had been hanging back when everyone else rushed in, hesitant to simply throw himself into the death-trap that was this room. It was probably a lucky thing that Moure actually had some control over his own speed, even when Danny had been partially pulling him along. After she'd let go, he'd slowed reasonably so that he wouldn't charge into the room like a battering ram.
And then he heard Danny's shouts about how it was the best room ever. Which only meant one thing: The place had to be on fire. As soon as Moure entered the room, the very first thought he had was something along the lines of, "FIRE WHY IS THERE FIRE" and a lot of other thoughts that may have entailed a line of cursing or possibly even saying he'd rather be back home with Cphira then staying in a room full of fire. (And that was saying something, given his home-life.)
In any case, Moure had moved to as far away as possible from the flames. The undead really didn't want to die so soon. Of course the first room contained his worst weakness. Of course.
"Definitely not the best room ever." Moure muttered, siding with Rikki and G about the room. Now they just had to get the paper from Danny, since if it was there it was probably something important. "Danny! What did that paper say?" Perhaps the best solution would just be to ask her, after all.

Uh Oh - As Danny removed the paper from the door it disintegrated in her pocket. - A NEW puzzle has appeared on the door...this one seems more complex then before...but solving it will probably open the door. (You hope!)

"Son of a witch!" Roch cursed, seeing the new paper. He looked at the other guys, all of who seemed really anti fire, and muttered a curse, hoping that those jackin' fire proof pants he'd bought weren't just false advertising.
He raced forward, trying to get through any area without as much fire as he could and stopped as close as he could get to the door. "Danny, scoot over, would you, I wanna see the new piece of paper STILL ON THE DOOR."
He looked as well as he could, digging through his pockets for a pen. He could do this. Right?

The paper exploded! Or, really, it just seemed to respawn itself--but exploded was a much more exciting term! Gargantuan couldn't help but make a gleeful sound, his tail thumping against the floor, pausing to nose each of his male teammates in turn. This meant that Moure, Rikki, and Roch would probably be sent staggering from the force of the swamp monster's affection.
That was when G was struck with a brilliant idea.
Shuffling a bit closer to the fire, G eyed it for a minute, then turned. His heavy tail lifted and promptly slammed itself into the fire with a WHAM! The impact might be enough to choke the flames out, right? Sure, it would be hot, but if he was quick and it worked, then they wouldn't all have to catch on fire!
Or, you know, he'd just singed his tail and done absolutely nothing effective.

Danny stuck out her tongue at the door and punched it. "Why won't you opeee-"
Her complaint was interrupted by Moure, who asked her what the paper said. Oh, well she would just dig it out of her pocket and tell hi- Where did the paper go? Danny frantically searched every crevice of her jacket, but the note was no where to be found. "Oh nooo. They're all going to die!" she cried to herself. What was she supposed to do when all her friends got eaten by the fire? She needed to make more fire demon friends, that was obviously the answer.
A loud thump got her out of her rarely-had thoughts, and she looked around. Roch said something about a note on the door? But she had lost that one hadn't sh-
Whaaaaaaaat. There was a second note on the door! How did that even get there? Danny looked at it and attempted reading it as best she could. "Okay uhm ... Solve ... the ..." she coughed where the word sudoku was. She didn't know what it meant! "Puzzle ... to ... pro- ... pro-keyed? ... no no proceed!" She glanced back to her group of merry little men in the front of the room. "We have to solve a puzzle! It's ... Well what is suh duck oh?"
Then Roch actually came charging over demanding to see the paper. Instantly Danny covered it up and whined, like the selfish brat she was. "Nooooooo, this is mine Roch." Was she going to get them all killed? Yes.

"Alright, G!" Rikki pumped his fist in the air with a grin.
He dodge the flames and made it to the door, not comfortable with how close they were standing to an actual fire. He could feel the sweat rolling down his spine now, the little room quickly heating up. If Danny kept trying to look at the paper alone, there were going to be problems. "Danny..." He grabbed her shoulders and squeezed gently. "We're a team. Can we help you open the door?" His words were gentle, but his tone was a little stressed. The flames were spreading, despite G putting out enough of them the access the door. How long did it take a fire to engulf a room?

Roch was right on Rikki's heels. "It looked a lot like homework to me, though," he said. "I mean, sure, you can do it Danny, but here we are in a room full of some pretty awesome fire, and you're wanting to do homework instead?"
Then he shrugged. "Oh well. Course, who KNOWS when we'll get another room like this, right?" He looked around. "Jack what I wouldn't give for some smarshmallows, some chocolate, and some scram crackers... we HAD some, until they pilfered the PIG."
