Description: Aila is a petite woman. Her skin is quite pale and never tans, no matter how long she is out in the sun although sometimes she gets a very fine smattering of freckles over the tops of her cheeks and bridge of her nose. She has shoulder length dark hair that is very nearly black. It is fine and ultra straight, flowing easily and always neatly falling back to where it was, no matter how much it is messed up. It is slightly shorter in the front, framing her face. Her eyes are a very pale blue.

Personality: Aila was a hyper, happy-go-lucky child, turned cheerful but mild-mannered adult. She has some lingering hyperactive tendencies; Aila is rarely seen in one place long, she paces everywhere, and often talks to herself in strings of logic that jump from one thing to another so fast that only her dragon could follow her. Her mind goes a-mile-a-minute, but as an adult she's a little better at slowing it down.

In comparison, Aila takes her time before speaking. She knows how scattered her brain is, and would chose silence before speaking without considering her words (although this is more true around her peers and superiors than it is her juniors and patients). She accepts that a certain amount of misunderstandings may stem from this, as she won't be the first to jump to her own or other's defence. She knows when she's right, and what other people think of her won't change that. However, she stresses when she gets something wrong, and will not let it die until she has gone over her mistake a million times in an attempt to fix it. Fortunately, she is proactive about her faults, and will not hesitate to seek help when trying to correct them.

If there was one word that defined Aila, it would be quirky. There's no denying she's an odd girl. Sometimes eight turns, sometimes eighty, she walks the fine line between ingenuity and insanity, and almost seems to have a split personality when it comes to her healing versus her normal life. When it comes to healing, there's no two ways about it. She knows exactly how the situation needs to be handled, and does exactly that.

People say she has the perfect attitude to be a healer. She's confident, she never says never, and she knows how to put a positive spin on everything. She has a slightly cynical view on life; she sees the humour in things most people wouldn't. As a wing rider, she is cheerful, positive, and self-assured. She is a great encouraging force on her wing, as she knows how to keep people calm and keep them focused on the positive. She responds well to constructive criticism and is always looking to improve.

History: Aila came to the weyr as a young candidate and apprentice healer, and stayed as both for a good while. Aila Stood several times without success. In fact, she impressed just shortly after taking her journeyman's knots. Tanzith sure kept her waiting long enough, but as Aila puts it, he was just politely waiting for her to finish her apprenticeship. In any case, it was on her 18th turn, when she was close to giving up, that her beautiful baby blue rolled out of his shell and into her life. And he couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Aila put healing to the side for the moment and focused on raising her Tanizith properly. Once the two of them were graduated into successful adult riders, she was able to persue both callings as she pleased.

With the coming of thread, Aila's job became all the more crucial. Healers had all but forgotten what threadscore looked like, now Aila gets to see (and treat) it in all shapes and sizes. Aila and Tanzith are happy to do whatever's needed from them most. Sometimes that's another dragon in the air, and sometimes it's an extra pair of hands on the ground. Sometimes it can be both in one fall. The two are team-players and not at all ambitious, so they don't mind being pulled off threadfall every now and then, if that's what it takes.

Talents: Aila has a good talent for healing and a particularly good bedside manner. Her healing craft gives her a cooler head than most in threadfall, since she's used to the pressure. Tanzith is small for a blue, making him agile and maneuverable, and the two of are a quick and reliable pair in fall.

Color: Blue

Physical Description: Tanzith is a small blue: light and lean. His hide is dark but bright, a deep blue, with a hint of purple. He has no markings, but his color is rare and diverse. His hide doesn't shine in the sun, but almost seems to turn translucent, at once loosing its deep, rich color, and appearing a light and softer shade of blue. In just the right light, not too dark and not too bright, his hide becomes a striking ultramarine blue.

Personality: Like most blues, Tanzith is easy going. He doesn't care too much about title or rank, and strives only to perform at a level that does him and his rider proud. He needs no one's approval but Aila's. He always aims to make her proud, and rarely fails. He is collected and quiet, and much more stoic than his cheerful companion.

Tanzith is a blue with thick skin. If he is wrong, he doesn't mind being corrected. If he is right, he still doesn't mind, he just doesn't listen. If someone gives him a hard time, he will smile and nod, and be as polite and respectful as his position dictates, then walk away, entirely unbothered. He'll tell Aila, and Aila will say they were being a jerk, and he'll think no more of it, content that His was on his side.

He doesn't fret over past situations. He's a very 'que sera, sera' kind of dragon, and like Aila he will always try to make the best of the situation. With His he is warm, though still always even in his temperament, never excited and rarely angry. He serves as a baseline to level out Aila's wild emotions and is a calming force in her life.
