Group 9 Quote: Character Name: Julian Thanatos Minis Account Name: Reeshie Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Demon - Harbinger Natural Ability/Abilities: Good Omens Julian has this keen sense of when things are about to go bad. Not for himself, mind, but for those around him. He doesn't know exactly what or when it's going to be, just knows when something bad is coming. He can tell who it is by when he gets the feeling and he has somewhat learned to tell a general idea of when it is coming (soonish or in some time). Quote: Character Name:- Alcyone Fiore Minis Account Name: novies Year, Race - Subspecie: Year 1, Demon Natural Ability/Abilities: FEAR: Aquaphobia – fear of drowning – She can make people feel like water is enclosing around them making them feel like they have to hold their breath. Once out of breathe, they would 'feel' the water rushing down their throats. If the panic doesn't cause them to pass out, the lack of oxygen will. -It’s all an illusion and they’re not actually drowning. It's similar to the feeling of claustrophobia.- - As a first year, her powers would be relatively weak. She would only be able to sustain the attack for a few seconds and it will be easy to break her concentration. The sensation of the water would cause them to panic and make them confused and disoriented for a short time allowing her to throw a punch or two. - It requires great concentration, a certain amount of time, and she also has to finish a short Latin phrase for the attack to work. So it would be very possible for her opponents to break free from the attack. Like most demons, she’s very weak to physical attacks so if her opponent were to break her concentration before she finished her attack, she would have to stop and start over. Natural Ability: Being a water essence demon, Alcyone can manipulate veeery small amounts of water at a time. Twirling a veery small amount of water in her hands or something like that. She can only do it for a short time and has to be within 10 ft of a water source. Quote: Character Name: Sin Err Minis Account Name: roxyroxanna Year, Race - Subspecies: Y1, Demon - Succubus Natural Ability/Abilities: Natural Ability: - Frightfully Pretty: The more FEAR around her the better her charisma, and seductive allure. Sin's unique FEAR ability is: Enticing: When Sin gathers up enough Fear she can entice someones emotions enhancing them so that they feel more. All their emotional feelings are enhanced for a few minutes making them feel more happy/angry/lusty/sad then they already are. Quote: Team Stats:Current Location: Room 3 Past Rooms: Room 1: Slides are fun! Room 2: Wells are not fun!
Pumpkin Pills: What has happened? [In the beginning...] The group has entered the Boogeyman Training Course. Their first challenge awaits them... [...and then...] A set of risky slides awaited them, both bad choices and good choices were tempered with teamwork and luck, leaving the group only slightly worse for the wear. [...but then...] the group find themselves in a well with a puzzles and one very hungry fish.

After respawning at their hub, bearing both the burden of defeat and fishy odor to match, the group finds themselves in a great hall. At the far end, two giant stone doors loom over the group. One is decorated with clouds, the other with waves. Beside the door, two giant stone statue, on of a fish, the other of a bird, stand guard. Quote: Upon seeing the group, they speak in unison: “We are the guardians of the way onward.” They fall silent. Then the one on the left speaks, “Both of these doors lead somewhere.” “But it all depends on what you’re looking for,” the statue on the right chimes in, “If it is the way forward -” “Oh! I know that one!” The one on the left interrupts. “It’s behind my door!” The one on the right shakes its head. “No, it isn’t. You just want them to go through your door for your own amusement.” “I am not!” The left statue retorts, “I’m only trying to help! You’re the one who is insisting on confusing them! Besides,” the statue turns towards the group. “Why don’t you lot pick?” “It is your decision, after all,” the right statue adds with a nod. “Though you may wish to discuss it amongst yourselves; you must agree on one door, and must go through that door and only that door.” “And we can’t tell you what’s behind the doors, either,” the statue on the left chimes in. “So don’t get any ideas! Just let us know which door you pick. And you can’t ask us any questions, either.” The right statue says nothing, and watches the group expectantly. OOC:You may only pick ONE door, and everyone MUST go through that door. The second room is much smaller than the first, small and cylindrical, with the majority of space being taken up by a pool of water in the center. On closer look, it's less a pool and more a well. A very deep well. The chamber would be completely dark, if not for something glowing faintly in the water. All the way at the bottom. There is no visible exit.
"At the bottom of the well" For some reason, you find your attention focused on a strange four by four stone grid filled with puzzles. There is a strange sort of something to it, a compulsion if you will. It's as if the puzzle wishes to be solved...
http://halloween.thesporkedken.com/event/h2k11/sudoku9.png As your group enters this room, you realize that you are high. Literally. You and your group is on a very high ledge without safety rails. In front of you, you can see what looks to be five different slides. Carefully, you peer over the edge. You can't see the bottom -- the mist is too thick. You think you can see a ladder, however there are far too many rungs missing to make it usable. It looks like the only route you have available is to go down a slide...or do you? Two of your party has wings and there is the chance you could navigate through the fog and tangle of slides. Maybe one of you could even carry the third member of your group. Maybe, possibly, perhaps...
You're in a new place full of new challenges, you have 5 slides before you, but there's always more options. And more consequences.

[Sin Enters Room 1]
Sin walked in with confidence grinning at Alcie and Julian behind her and stepping forward...without looking. Mistake number one apparently, and one she didn't intend to make again as she wobbled on the high ledge and struggled to regain her balance. Her wings flapped open and she finally steadied herself with a nervous gasp. With a glance down Sin muttered a curse under her breath, that would have been a nasty spill, oh she might have been able to glide a little but her wings weren't mature enough for full flight.
"Watch Out!" She called behind her afraid that Alcie and Julian would topple off, of course Julian could fly.
Sin took a moment to relax herself, she had good balance (thank you fearleading), still this was a bit nerve wracking. She slowly stepped towards the ladder then paused and frowned, nope...it looked more dangerous then the ledge they were on.
"It looks like these slides go down...but I can't see where they land..." She chewed her lip a moment and glanced back at Alcie.
"Any chance you can clear the mist a bit and give us a better idea of what's down there?" It was a hopeful long shot, but better to try then go down unknowingly.

[Alcone enters room 1]
She smiled confidently as they stepped into the room but then she immediately felt her heart drop. Alcyone looked down and realized that they were high up. Very high up. Observing the room in front of her, Alcyone had no idea what they were supposed to be doing. There were slides in front of them but they don't look very secure or safe to be sliding down. She wasn't... afraid of heights but Alcyone definitely wasn't a fan of being high up either. Spotting no water in sight concerned the demoness slightly but she needed to relax.
Alcie leaned very slightly over the edge to peer down at the mist trying to get a peek at the bottom of the pit. "Hm." There wasn't a hint of unsteadiness in her voice but Alcie was definitely feeling uneasy at the moment. Glancing at her two group mates, the demon realized that the only way forward was by taking the slides. "I can try." Honestly she really hadn't practiced her abilities very much and she knew that she had a very poor grasp of what she should be able to do.
She held out her hands and attempted to manipulate the water in the mist but to no avail. "There isn't enough water. I can't seem to grab hold of it." Frowning, Alcie knew that it would have been very helpful if they could at least see where they were going. "How are we supposed to know which slide to go down? It seems like we're either going to go separately or all go on the same slide. What do you two think?"

[Julian enters room 1 Also, I didn't realize that FEAR abilities were to be included in the form. Do you want to add Julian's?]
Julian stopped short, his wings twitching outwards a bit at Sin's warning, ready to take flight if need be. But then he saw the reason and relaxed. It wasn't something that scared him, heights. He was quite used to them, in fact. His dorm room was on the topmost floor of the demon dorms and on top of that he spent most of his study time on the room where his pets couldn't bother him for attention and he didn't have to worry much about crazy things going on like in some classrooms or the library or the grounds. School was a crazy place to be certain.
Alcie tried to dissipate the fog, but he could see that it wasn't working. He wasn't sure he liked the idea that was forming in his head, but they were running out of options and he would rather not make a random guess at one of those slides.
"I c-could fly down? S-see where they l-lead..."

Sin took a deep breath and the nodded at Julian, yes he should fly down, but the mist was gonna make navigating tough. She flexed her own wings uncertainly and then eyed Alcie, both of them were fairly petite, if they slid down together opening her wings at the last minute MIGHT be able to slow them down or stop them so they didn't plummet into...whatever was down there.
"Okay Julian...you fly down whatever way you can...but I'll slide down with Alcie...and we'll try and stop ourselves at the last minute. If uhh..something happens to us, then try another route? If it's clear we'll call you down..."
She looked at the slides and glanced at Alcie to see if she had a preference, but honestly none of them seemed to have a clue.
"Alright Alcie, let's go down this second slide?" She motioned for her friend to sit down first so she could move behind her.

That sounded like a good idea. Alcyone hoped that no obstacles would try to prevent him from reaching the bottom... There could be things lurking around in the mist for all they knew. The ladder looked promising but as she gazed further down, there was no way they could make it down like that. The slides looked like their only option at this point. They could just wait for Julian to investigate what was down there but what if there was something there and he needed their help? Alcie knew it would be better that they all attempted to descend to the bottom of the seemingly endless pit.
"Seems like the best idea for now. Splitting up isn't a good idea and all of the slides pretty much look the same. So let's just pick one and we'll see what happens when we make it down." Nodding in response to Sin, Alcie sat down on the slide and waited for Sin to sit down behind her. "Julian, be careful." Of course she was more worried for him and Sin then she was for herself.

All things considered, Julian really didn't like this plan. He knew Sin's boilfriend, knew that if anything happened to her, the surly incubus would... He didn't even know what lengths Rosc would go to in retaliation. The political implications alone were somethings he didn't want to think about. Much as he didn't float in the demon circles, it wasn't as if he came from a unheard of, penniless family. His was a very old family, only not well known because the avian harbingers were a secretive clan. If he let something happen to either of the ghouls... doom hung over his head.
"I'm... Are you..." He paused there with a small sigh, running his claws through his hair. "All right... I'll s-see you at the bottom," he finally said, put his things in order, then leapt into the air over the empty space wings surging outward. He flew in a small circle to turn back to the ghouls, a frown on his face as he flapped hard to stay in a general position.
"Be careful." That said, he slowly made his way down towards the fog, turning in a slow, descending spiral.

Sin felt her stomach give a little flip before she nodded at Julian, she could see his uncertainty, but at least this way they would go down together...for better or worse.
"Be careful..." She added to Julian - flight could be a blessing and a curse a harsh wind could easily throw him into a slide or something.
Sin moved behind Alcyone and wrapped her arms around the other ghouls waist in a tight hug. "Okay...when we get down into the mist we should dig our heels in...since that's probably close to where the slides will end." She wiggled a bit and then pushed them forward.
As much as Sin wanted to bury her face in Alcyone's hair and scream until it was over she struggled to keep her eyes opened as they moved at what felt like breakneck speed...hopefully not an indication of their fate.
When Sin's vision went misty she struggled to dig her heels in, her wings opened to try and catch some air and slow them down.
[ Choice: Sin and Alcyone have gone down Slide B together - Sin will be trying to use her wings to slow them down/stop them if possible before they reach the end/ Julian will be flying down to meet them at the bottom. ]

Bad call. As Alcy and Sin hurtle down their slide, their ride continues on through a hole in the ground, when their slide finally stops, they find themselves deposited...at the top of a cliff, looking down at a very similar set of slides. THE OOC Alcy and Sin are now at the top of another, similar set of slides. What's a ghoul to do? And will Julian choose to follow? Julian: roll 1 four-sided die. If odd, Julian's keen sight and agile flying have allowed him to reach the ground safely. If even, Julian loses a corresponding amount of HP. (Roll a 2, and he loses 2 hp.) Sin: roll 2 four-sided die. These die represent Sin's wings. If a die is even, that wing has missed hitting anything or getting strained on the way down. If a die is odd, then that wing takes HP damage for the corresponding amount, (IE: you roll a 1 and a 4. One wing is delivered 1 HP damage, the other is unharmed.) Alcy: Sin's risk has made your landing much more gentle than otherwise. Roll one six-sided die, if your roll is three or less, Alcy has received damage for a corresponding amount of HP. (If you roll a 4, no damage. If you roll a 2, that is 2 damage.)

Julian's HP: 30
Julian moved through the fog silently and carefully, using his sharp vision to navigate the slides and supports. It was tough going and he barely missed a beam or two, but he finally broke through the fog and found solid ground. Here he could see the ends of the slides, or at least some of them. Others... went through holes in the floor. He'd been flying slow, where were Sin and Alcie? They should have beaten him down. Oh, no... had they...
He fluttered over to the first hole, calling down in a very flustered manner. "Sin? Alcie? Where are you?!" he called, his hands cupped around his mouth.

Sin's HP: 30 - 1 = 29 Sin's left wing is strained.
Sin curled up against Alcie as she felt a strange twinge of pain shoot down her wing and against her back. Ouch...ouch what the? Sin hadn't strained her wings in a long time and the old sensation was startling enough to make her wings fold up against her back. Luckily that saved the right from clipping the hole they fell into. She cringed as they made an unceremonious landing...right back where they started? She moved shakily onto her hands and knees and peered down looking for Julian.
"Julian! We're up here!" She yelled down glad to see he'd made a better landing.
She sat up and reached to rub her back, but massage wasn't gonna cut it. Slowly she stood and turned to help Alcie up with a mild frown.
"You okay?"

Damage taken: 3hp Alcyone's hp: 27hp
The moment they started down the slide she already had a bad feeling. The wind was whipping through her hair and it seemed like the slide would never end. She was having trouble keeping her eyes open as the cold air hit her face. It took her a few seconds to realize that they had descended into a hole in the ground. Oh god where were they going to land? She squinted and then realized that they were approaching the ground and fast.
The water demoness was glad that Sin was going to use her wings to stop them from making a harsh landing. But in a few seconds, Alcie realized that she wasn't slowing down at all and that she was slipping away from Sin. The impact with the ground was a lot worse than she had expected.
The ghoul fell off the slide face forward and felt her knees and hands make contact with the ground. As she skid, Alcie had closed her eyes praying that she wouldn't slide off of the cliff. When her body finally halted to a stop, she opened her eyes and tried getting up. Her knees and hands were completely shredded and had just begun to bleed profusely.
"Ugh. I'm alright." For now. Alcie already noticed that she had a few tears in her skirt and blood was already dripping all over herself. It didn't hurt yet but it seemed like she would have to use her skirt again to wrap her hands.

Julian dove for the hole he heard Sin's voice come through, stopping on his hands and knees at the edge as he peered over. Up? What did she mean by up, they were below him... Did that mean... "Are there more slides down there?" He really wasn't sure what was going on. He couldn't see too much around him and he didn't much wish to go exploring without the rest of his group. He didn't like being separated from them at all.
His mind started to whirl with possibilities on getting them back together. If Sin and Alcie went down more slides, would they end up here, or on another level? How far down were they? Could he fly down and then carry them back up through the hole one at a time? Or could he make or find something to climb up. He didn't know what to do, it was a frustrating feeling.
