Upon entering the room, the door would close and vanish behind them, leaving them with nowhere to go but forward. The room was pretty normal looking; the ceiling was low, with spikes protruding from it to discourage flying too high. There was also a giant crevice separating their side of the room from the other side, where there is a closed door - presumably leading to the next room.
The crevice itself might be wide, but peering down, one would realize that it gradually narrows before the walls become totally vertical, very much like a 'Y' shape. Again, the place where it narrows did not hold enough space for someone with wings to go through... Flying was a near impossible feat in this room, it would seem.
On closer inspection of the crevice, one would notice a giant strange four by four grid filled with puzzles sketched to the narrow side of the wall, lights illuminating it so that it was visible from the top. For some reason, you find your attention focused on it... There is a strange sort of something to it, a compulsion if you will. It's as if the puzzle wishes to be solved...
Well, there might be barely enough space to move, but there was enough space for them to scribble...? There was even a stick of chalk on the floor... [OOC NOTES: -> Get down to the bottom of that crevice to solve the puzzle! -> It being so steep and such a high drop will cost whoever tries to get down via jumping -3HP from drop damage! -> Whoever tries to fly across the crevice will find that the spikes make it impossible to do so! -> Once the puzzle is solved, post it here and I'll check it! Feel free to continue RPing though, while waiting for the results~]

((Astra is entering!))
It was strange. Astra had followed the rest of the student body into the house, but once she had entered the room...she was the only one in it. Red did mention the house would 'sort them out into their groups' but she didn't realize it would teleport them.
She turned backwards to see if her team had followed, only to realize with a start the door was gone. The only other way to get out was the door on the other side.
It was immediately obvious she wouldn't be able to fly here. There wasn't enough room, and the spikes would make short work of her. As she walked towards the slanted edge cautiously, she looked down and saw some sort of...puzzle at the bottom. But the drop to get there was pretty steep, and the space was too small, even for her wings.
The only thing she could do now, was to wait for her team members to get here so they could figure out what to do.

[Yuki is Entering!]
Had Yuki entered to find himself alone as Astra had, he might have been rather concerned that something had gone wrong. Apparently, when Red had stated that they would be sorted again into their groups, she had meant that quite literally. He looked back briefly, in anticipation of the others coming in after them, before slowly stepping on inside as he looked with a slight grimace up at the ceiling.
As he stepped up next to the fae, he peered across the gap that separated them from the other side of the room, then looked up to those dangerous spikes again and knew that flying or even leaping across would likely end with a terrible meeting with one or more of them.
"That's... Quite a long way down." Yuki stated needlessly, in observation. There was a brief pause as he stared at the lit area down below, where the puzzle was sketched upon the wall. While he couldn't really make it out from up here, it didn't take a genius to figure that someone would have to go down and have a look.
"Mandy would be the best one to go down there, don't you think?"

((Maritess and Legs are entering))
Maritess felt woozy when she emerged, her wings flapping in awkward intervals. "O-oh my, that felt unpleasant," she mumbled uncomfortably. Legs didn't seem as affected, she event went so far as to run towards the very edge, bending slightly forward as if it stare down into the crevice.
Hearing Yuki's suggestion, both Tess and Legs came to the unanimous conclusion that the drop bear did indeed sound like the best candidate for the job. "It's a good thing we brought rope with us."

((Mandy is entering!))
Strolling calmly in after Tess Mandy entered just in time to hear her name mentioned. Curiosity piqued she made her way over to the crevasse, fearlessly peering over the edge at the puzzle. "Huh," glancing between it, the spikes and the door she turned to the others, "think we have to solve that to get acess to the door? I can do that drop no problems but ah, someone else might be better for calling down the answers. Puzzles of this kind aren't really my forte."
Turning to Tess she added with a grin, "Mm, yeah. I don't relish the idea of having to climb out with my bare hands. Rope'll make it much easier."
She paused considering, "Though do we have anything sturdy to secure the line to? I brought climbing pins but without the hammer it'd be hard to get them in... ah well, that's getting ahead. Maybe the room'll change when we solve it so that isn't necessary?"
Professor Red had been implying that the place was alive.

CLAIRE ENTERS LOL
Claire felt cold, then hot as she entered the room, hearing the voices of her fellow team mates. Her eyes were snapped shut, just listening. She was scared of what might be in the room. Her ears picked up something about Mandy climbing down to do the puzzle and she opened her eyes, looking confused. Then she looked around the room. It was peculiar to say the least, and Claire thought it smelled of syrup, but that could have been her breakfast. Without hesitation, she shuffled towards the group with wide eyes, clutching her shirt. "I'll get my stomach to hold the line, if you like. It's got very strong tongue muscles, maybe that will work?" she said quietly, looking at Mandy. She was here to help, after all. "I can't help with the puzzle though, I'm not very clever like that."
Other than her facts, naturally.

Astra's sigh of relief was audible as Yuki had entered not long after herself, followed by the rest of the group. And no sooner had they all arrived had they came up with a plan. Well...okay, part of a plan, but it was still something.
She nodded to Yuki's suggestion to let Mandy go down. Her ability would be best for this, and they did have rope. Even Claire offered to help out! Just not the puzzle.
"I can help with the puzzle?" Astra said to the group. "I can make it out from here, and..." She looked towards it, squinting to make out the finer details. "...yeah, I think I got a idea how to solve it. Or at least part of it."

"Well, that seems to be settled, then." Yuki stated, feeling a bit relieved that this room seemed like it might be pretty easy to complete.
He grimaced lightly as Legs looked to be peering over the edge of the gap, putting an arm out in front of her rather than putting a hand on her hip or something - that might have been offensive - in order to try and keep her from leaning any further.
"Careful, Legs, hopefully only one of us needs to end up down there. Don't get too close and risk falling yourself."
He squinted a bit, trying to make out the details of the puzzle. "Is that... Sudoku?" He knew the principle, he thought, but wasn't so sure he wanted to know what a wrong answer might lead to.
"If it's what I think it is, I know that you're supposed to have every symbol in each section, but only one of each symbol per row." The boil looked to Astra, brow furrowed in thought. "Right?"

Legs gave a soft stamp of her foot, as if to indicate she was willing to help support Mandy's rope together with Claire. She could step on it and help anchor it! Though she wasn't about to let anyone wrap the rope around her. She had no intention of falling into the crevice. Let Mandy do that. As for the puzzle solving, she intended to let her upper half handle that.
"Sudoku? I don't think I'm familiar with that. How does it work?" Maritess asked, tilting her head and listened to the sole boil in the group explain the mechanics of the puzzle. "Ah, perhaps it's best if Mandy goes down and calls out the actual symbols? I seem to recall someone brought something to write with? We can use that to jot down the possible solutions."

Mandy listened to the others work out the fine details, smiling slightly. She liked this peaceful teamwork, much better than most excursions. Slipping her backpack off to leave up the top she paused to pull out her note pad and pen, handing them to Astra.
"Yeah I did, since you think you know the solution you can have 'em Astra." that said she slowly crouched at the edge of the crevasse and taking a look to make sure to was positioned right pushed off the edge.
For the first bit she merely slid down the sloped sides, slowly gaining speed, but the second she hit the vertical section all the speed translated into a spectacularly fast fall that made her glad none of the others had done this, the landing would have seriously hurt them. Seeing the ground rush up to meet her she got in a good landing position, knees bent as much as the close walls would allow, and just before she crashed spectacularly she felt the familiar lurch of her acceleration dying off to that of a jump from a low wall allowing her land, if not lightly, safely.
Getting her bearings she took the time to examine what was down here and the puzzle in greater detail than their previous advantage point had allowed.
"Huh, there's chalk down here for solving it! Looks like you where right about the Sudoku thing, there's some instructions - says 'That every symbol must appear once in every horizontal and vertical row'! It's a four by four grid and the symbols are moon, bat, pumpkin, bone! If horizontals are letters and verticals are numbers then going from the top left corner B1 has a moon, D1 a bat, C2 a bone, C3 a moon, B4 a pumpkin and D4 a bone!"
She yelled all this up carefully and slowly to give them time to jot it down, she wasn't sure how much they'd already been able to tell from up there - her eyesight was dodgy as hell.

"Yup, thats how you solve it" Astra confirmed Yuki's theory, also assuring to herself that she knew how it worked, and how she could solve it. She returned to look at the puzzle again, trying to come up with a solution in her head, when Mandy gave her the note pad and pen. "Thankyou!" She replied, then watched as the drop bear began her slide down. "Be careful!" She called out. It was nerve wracking to watch her teammate slide down at a ever increasing speed, but it was even worse to see her suddenly drop down from such a height. She health her breath the entire time, only daring to relax and breathe again when Mandy was safe on the ground. "Are you okay?" She shouted to mandy, pausing to hear her shout back the instructions, and where the symbols were located. "Ah, Thanks Mandy! This makes things much easier..." Astra quickly jotted down the coordinates that were listed, then began her task of figuring out were the rest of the would go. Idly her antenna tapped the paper in front of her as she mumbled to herself, concentrating hard and jotting down pictures and ideas. At one point she scribbled out what she had and started the whole thing again. Finally, she sighed in relief. "Got it!" She said triumphantly, and leaned over the edge. "I got the answer Mandy! Hold on, I'll drop the notepad down to you." And then let the pad slide down and drop over the edge and towards mandy (( Answer))

Claire leaned back naturally as her stomach did the task of supporting Mandy's weight. It was incredible, really, the power of her stomach. She didn't care, though. She was just concentrating on the fact that bad stuff could happen any second.
Look on the bright side, obviously. As Mandy fell, she held her breath and closed her eyes in a split second. But then Mandy was okay, so it was...okay.
Claire tried her best to stay as out of the puzzle as possible, she was terrible at these kind of things.

Astra hadn't been the only one holding her breath; Yuki had worried that something would go wrong. He let it out when he heard her calling back up to them and sounding very much uninjured. Thank Jack for that.
Watching over the fae's shoulder as she filled in the blanks on the puzzle, he found that there really wasn't a need for him to try and offer any assistance. Astra had the puzzle figured out in minutes, and soon was sending the notebook down to the ghoul for her to fill in the answers with chalk.
