a.k.a
Mort's Boob Squad

Quote:
Character Name: Mei-Xiu
Minis Account Name: LividPeas
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y2, Monster - Living Doll (Life size HP Doll)
Natural Ability/Abilities: First Year - First Aid
Thanks to her FEAR, Mei also has the ability to heal others. However, the chances of this working in year one are slim.
Second Year - First Aid +
By second year, Mei's natural ability has improved, as has the accuracy. The chances of it working are now greater than her first year.

Quote:
Character Name: Little-Wolfe
Minis Account Name: .LittleWolfe.
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y2 Monster - Werewolf
Natural Ability/Abilities: Shapeshifting: Being a werewolf, LW has the ability, just like all were-creatures of any kind, to transform into an animal form. Since she is a werewolf, her form is that of a Red Wolf. When in this form, she is what she is: a wolf. She can't do anything magical or unusual for a wolf. Her speed and agility is increased slightly now having four feet instead of two. Hearing, sense of smell, and eyesight sharpen a tad when shifting forms.

Quote:

Character Name: Natalia
Minis Account Name: Shia
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y2 – Were Lemur
Natural Ability/Abilities: Transformation/Stink Secretion +: Naturally, she is able to transform into a large lemur, whose scent glands found under the armpits and forearms secrete a thick, heavy, and potentially disorienting smell, to protect her entirety for a limited amount of time. In addition, by exhausting her FEAR she can transfer the mucus onto a fellow comrade for a limited amount of time, and only on portions of their bodies. (IE: Protect the head and shoulders from injury) This may tire Natalia out, and lessen if not remove the protection from her beastly form entirely!

Claws, canines, and her tail are used for physical attacks.

Quote:

Character Name:- Mortimer McNeal
Minis Account Name:- Mediciner
Year, Race - Subspecie:- Y1 Undead, Zombie
Natural Ability/Abilities:-
Natural:- Zombies have a tendency to always keep going, regardless of how damaged their bodies are. Unless you do a headshot. 8( Mort can also remove and reattach his own limbs.

Battle:- When activated, Mort’s cranial top flips open to reveal his brain lighting up like a live wire before its strikes out with electricity. At best this can fire off two short but quick zaps, but in later years will grow in power/range. Any time he uses the ability, Mort gets quite the headache, though.

Quote:
Character Name: Whisper
Minis Account Name: Getsurae
Year, Race - Subspecie: Y1, Demon - Hellhound
Natural Ability/Abilities: Shapeshifting: Whisper can change her form into a large hellish canine. All her senses are heightened, allowing her to track her opponents easier.

You enter a dark room, after a few seconds there is a steady click, click, click followed by the walls lighting up. Looking down you notice a red line in front of you and beyond that pristine white tiles forming a grid all across the room. The door behind you clicks ominously, there's no turning back now.

"Welcome to the Grid" says a warbled voice from the speaker in the ceiling, but before it can give further instructions the ground rumbles just a step ahead of you.

One of the tiles on the grid bursts upward with a jet of hot water and slams into the ceiling...and the speaker that was there. Goodbye helpful voice, oh well.

The room starts to get warmer and steam hisses from the spaces in between the tiles, you better get across before the whole thing blows.

Quote:
OOC:
Please RP taking a step onto the board. You will start along the bottom at row F and work your way towards the top of the map (row A). You are moving from the very BOTTOM of the grid to the TOP.

With every post, you need to do two things:
1) List your coordinates.
xxx Let's say you're going to start two rows from the left. You would put (( Entering F,2)) in your post to say "Hi! I'm in row F, column 2."
xxx From there, let's say you want to move to row E, column 2. You would then put (( F,2 to E,2 )) in your post.
xxx Made it to the other side? (( Leaving A,2 ))

2) Roll 2d8. Two, 8-sided dice. This will determine what tile erupts, regardless of who is on it.
xxx The first number is the VERTICAL number.
xxxxx 1 = A
xxxxx 2 = B
xxxxx 3 = C
xxxxx 4 = D
xxxxx 5 = E
xxxxx 6 = F
xxxxx 7 = NO ERUPTION
xxxxx 8 = NO ERUPTION
xxx The second number is the HORIZONTAL number.

If you are unfortunate enough to be on a tile that is rolled, you will suffer -1 HP as the tile is propelled up and against the ceiling!

You can only move HORIZONTALLY or VERTICALLY. You may not move diagonally. Why? Magic prevents you from doing so.

Your dice rolls affect EVERYONE on the board. If your roll matches someone who’s on that tile, they will suffer damage. It may be best to go across one at a time for safety, or it might be better if you all rushed it...

How to determine whether or not a tile erupts under you:
1) If the post with the coordinates your post was currently on is BEFORE your post, the tile propels you up and against the ceiling before you have a chance to move.
2) If the post with the coordinates your character is on is AFTER your post, you take no damage.

Thus, if the group goes one at a time there's no risk of players hurting each other... But it takes a long time. That, and you might not uncover grid secrets... If there are any.

(( A wild Mortimer appears! ))

Timp . . . timp . . . timp . . . timp, went Mortimer's steps through the darkness. His arms were outstretched just in case there was something in the dark he might run into.

Timp . . . timp . . . timp . . . timp . . . The glows from his uniform, while comforting, weren't enough to penetrate the inky black about him. And just when he was wondering how long it would take to get to where he needed to be -

Timp click Timp click Timp click

Huh? What was that clicking sou-

"Welcome to the Grid."

Who - ?

rrrrumblrumbleGSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHCRASH!- - - CLANGgGnNnNnNnnnnnnnn - - - went the rumbling, jet of water, and fallen speaker.

"MEEEEEEP!" went the freaked out zombie as he froze on the spot, arms flailing. What was - why did - how - was that hot water coming out of the ground?!

Whyyyyyyyyy Jack why did it have to be in the first room whyyyyyyyyy.

It was obvious that Mortimer was not going to be moving from his spot until the ghouls got there. And when they did, they would see him stuck in a semi kung-fu position in self defense, trembling and staring at the grid before him like it was ready to eat him.

Mei Entered Room 1

Arriving in the room, Mei fought with herself to keep from stumbling about the room. It was bloody dark! The only light was the glow of her own uniform, or that was until she saw the distant glow of Mortimer's. Thank Jack they all had different colours! It made it so much easier to tell who was who in the dark. Stepping forward towards her fellow teammate, she was nearly two feet away from him when one of the tiles exploded upwards and slammed hard into the ceiling. "Jack damn! That's new!" She observed the area, placing her hands on her hips.

"You alright, Mort?" She asked. He was, after all, the first to arrive here. There was no telling if he had already run into trouble, or was just spooked over the whole tile issue. "Well, this could be a little tricky. Looks like we'll have to be extra careful where we step." Glancing about, it appeared the others had no yet arrived. "Lets wait until the others get here before we decide on anything, okay?"

Natalia Entered Room 1

There was definitely fear to be found through that battered door she as well as every other Amityville student had stepped through. It pulsed within her, radiated all around her, and seemed to only grow in intensity the farther she stumbled through the darkness...

rrrrumblrumbleGSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHCRASH!- - - CLANGgGnNnNnNnnnnnnnn

Some distance ahead of the ghoul she saw a familiar glow--or at the very least, a reassuring light at the end of a very dark tunnel! But the sound that seemed to come with it was unrecognizable and extremely frightening. It drew the hairs along her neck and throughout the length of her tail skyward, as the pale monster froze for but a moment before jolting forward. Whatever was waiting at the end of this dark...hall? Well, it would get a face full of lemur in about minute.

"EEEEEEESSSSK!" She hissed, not entirely sure herself what the shriek was suppose to be before it turned into whatever THAT was. It took her a second to realize the area had changed before her lips began to tremble, and the apologies began to pool out. "I--I am so sorry! I did not see you two here! Ugh...what--what was that?!"

But the two who wouldn't need to respond, ears twitching as the many sounds surrounding them began to register...and the sight of an unlucky speaker smashed beneath a steam-driven tile summed up the source of that horrible noise. Deep blue brows lifted as the ghoul seemed to settle into her place, a single hand draped across her bosom; attempting to literally keep her heart in her chest. "...What the hell...?!" The words were murmured with a mixture of shock and irritation. There was a visible grid before them, one that resembled a course she had once attempted before with Red...-groan- Well this was a very unwelcome sight...particularly the part about the tiles possibly jutting up unexpectedly.

She would have placed one of her hands on both Mei's and Mort's shoulders in mock exhaustion, if she hadn't noticed that two of the five were missing. One...two...three...She counted with a single finger, spinning around slowly as if to make sure she hadn't missed anyone. Yeah...she wasn't crazy. No...no she was worried. It only just clicked that the hellhound seemed to dematerialize beneath her arm and vanish from the space around her, possibly wandering some ways behind in the darkness...but possibly not! And where was LW?? Her every emotion was captured in that porcelain face perfectly, adrenaline rushing throughout her jittery frame as she spoke quickly.

"Where are they?" Not like either of them would know..."Whisper? LW?" Rushing back to the door, placing her palm against it Natalia leaned in and tried to hear through to the other side. "You do not think they got lost, do you?!"

...Perhaps she was being a bit melodramatic. But...Shoot, they were a team! Natalia had to look out for the team.

...plus...what would Renaissance say if she lost LW. :I

...plus plus...she would be heartbroken without her Wispy-baby...

:I!

((LW is entering Room 1!))

Oooh she did not like the feeling she got when stepping through that door. As soon as she felt her feet touching solid ground, the she-wolf shuddered and shook, tail fluffing up. LW figured it was probably asking too much to hope that was the only time she had to walk through a door like that.

Tail swishing in anxiously, LW noted that she...couldn't see as well as she would have liked. Jackdammit! Whyyyyy?! Thank Jack their suits had a glow to them. It at least meant she wasn't submerged in total darkness. And she thought, when she squinted, that she saw more glows farther up ahead. Taking a deep breath and shaking herself like a canine, LW started to slowly move forward, hand out in front of her in case there was something in her path. Her nose wrinkled a little, not liking the scents she picked up from this place. But she did confirm that those glows she saw were indeed her group.

rrrrumblrumbleGSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHCRASH!- - - CLANGgGnNnNnNnnnnnnnn

Skulls! Not even in this place a full five minutes or less and she was squeaking. And alright so she might have had a sudden moment of 'Where is Ren?!'. But it passed quickly. Mostly. Okay she really just needed to join her group!

Being a little less careful now - was that steam she saw beyond those of her group ahead? - LW moved quickly down the hall until she all but bumped into her three teammates, latching on to the closest one to her. Which actually seemed to be a combination of Natalia and Mortimer. Oh and was that Mei right there too?

"W-What the Jack was that?!" The she-wolf asked, peering between her teammates at the grid-like room. Oh. Well, that answered where the steamy scent of water came from. LW winced.

"Umm....I'm guessing we have to get across this room? " That was probably the most obvious assumption there was. Smart of her to point it out, right? LW rolled her eyes at herself. "Has...anyone ventured out to get a closer look?" She also finally realized what else her nose had been telling her. Doing a quick headcount, there were missing one member. "Where's Whisper?"

Was he alright? No. No, he was not alright. Water just came out of the ground how the Jack was he alright please hold him. Mei just got a whimper, followed by a shaky nod, in response.

Oh Jack, what if the floor beneath them was full of water and not just under the light up grid? Sfdlsdkfh;adaschdnklvb

But then . . . Wait a minute! Death Knights weren't afraid of anything! A real Death Knight would scoff at the pitiable puzzle this house had given them and stride across the grid like it was a stroll through the pumpkin patch.

Okay, man up! Mort took a deep breath to calm himself down -

- and then proceeded to yelp again when he heard hissing behind them.

Whipping around, the zombie once again put up his dukes for whatever would try to jump them . . . And quickly put said dukes away when he saw it was just Natalia. A very worried Natalia. "Mrrr . . . Was dark," Mortimer offered meekly, rubbing the back of his neck; apparently not even their glowing uniforms could light all darknesses. But the haunted house wouldn't be so cheap as to separate them at the first round, right?

Right. Not long after the werelemur, LW joined them. Well, rather, latched to two of them.

To her first question, he shook his head - the collapsing speaker had scared him away from doing anything until they all get there. As well Whisper, well . . . She just sort of got a pat on the shoulder? Followed by Mei. And then especially followed by Natalia.

Jack, he felt so useless and wimpy and very not Death Knight-ish.

"Will wait for her," Mort asserted with a nod. No member left behind! "We think 'til then, how to pass room?" It was at this point that he wished one of them could fly.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 10, 2011 11:18 am

Natalia embraced LW's advance with a heavily exhaled breath and an arm that wrapped around the were's waist. The sideways hug seemed to calm the monster considerably, although until Whisper arrived she would not be exactly at ease. "Thank goodness you made it! I was worried." Her head bounced in a single nod, cheeks lifting some in a tiny smile that faded all too quickly. They all seemed to be wondering the same thing...it was odd that the hellhound would be taking so long to pass through the hallway...or whatever it was. The fetal position and a certain brunette curled up in it flashed before her eyes, but when she spoke it all dissipated. "Whisper should be coming through that door any minute now...Right?" She questioned rhetorically, tapping a finger against her bottom lip before confirming her statement. Right, she would be coming along just as LW had! Whisper was brave. She had to be. Mort speaking up seemed to also bring some comfort to her frayed mind.

So in the mean time Natalia turned to the other three and then to the grid before them, lifting her shoulders in a shrug. "That seems about right." She replied, also stating quite the obvious. "Carefully, I am assuming, or else..." Her eyes followed the steam that still kept one of the tiles against the ceiling, whining quietly. She then shook her head and lifted a finger to switch it back and forth in response to LW, turning slightly to face the red wolf. "Not yet, I do not think." Glancing to Mei and then to Mort's semi-frozen form, she figured her assumptions were correct. It just didn't look safe enough for any one of them to go inspecting further.

Not that they would have any other choice BUT to do just that...

[Whisper entering room 1!]

It felt so strange, going through that door. She felt so cold and slimey on the inside, and yet she felt almost nothing on her skin. The darkness was like a thick molasses, and she felt like no matter how hard she pushed through, she wasn't moving. She through out her arms as though she was swimming, hoping that this action would propel her though. Her senses were useless, it was as though they had all been shut off by the house. That was until some light shone in the distance. It was so small at first, like the tiniest pin p***k, but it slowly grew bigger and soon she could hear a rather loud noise.

rrrrumblrumbleGSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHCRASH!- - - CLANGgGnNnNnNnnnnnnnn

She covered her ears, as they hurt ever so slightly after being deprived from sound for what seemed like an eternity. As she stepped into the room, her vision cleared and she saw the rest of her team. And a speaker being shattered. Fantastic."Oh thank Jack! I thought I'd never get out of that. I'm glad to see you guys are ok, it would be terrible if anyone got stuck in that mess of darkness."

Whisper walked over and stared at the large grid in front of them. Hopefully this would not be like that damned gym class, she was not in the mood to be eaten by a skitter shark.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 11, 2011 4:41 pm

Once Mort confirmed her question, she went back to gazing about the area. The only thing it seemed they would have to be wary about in this room, was the floor. Jack damn, she did not want to end up like a bug squashed on the ceiling of this place. Hopefully, it would not come to that.

Jumping a little at Natalia's sudden appearance, she placed a hand over her non-existent heart and let out a useless breath. "Natalia..! Scared me for a moment." No doubt, this place had them all on edge. "What? They didn't come through with you?" She asked, peering behind the werelemur in hopes of spotting the other two team members. "How is that possible? You all went through the door before I did..Wouldn't you all have arrived before me?" Obviously, this wasn't the case. Turning on her heel at the sound of another voice, she grinned as one of the missing ghouls appeared. "Oh good! You made it!"

Shrugging at LW's statement, she glanced back over her shoulder at the floor once again. "Seems like it." Shaking her head again, she raised her hands in another shrug before dropping them back at her side. "We don't know. But I agree with Mort. While we wait for her, we need to think this through." Though, was there any point to it? It seemed like all they needed to do was cross. They would need to be careful, but it looked like there was no particular pattern they had to be wary of.

Lifting her head, her eyes shifted, landing on the hellhound. "There you are! We were beginning to worry. As you can see, we need to cross the room to exit.." She paused a moment, before grinning. "Sooo..who wants to go first?" She asked, jokingly.

OoooooohthankJackWhispwashere! Mortimer brightened into a relieved smile at the hellhound's orange glow, and he stepped out of Natalia's hug quickly - he was pretty sure the worried ghoul would be all over Whisp in seconds. Meanwhile . . .

No. No. No staring at more ghoul-on-ghoul action, Mort. Time for that later. Thinking time now. Hrrrrrrrrm. He stared at the grid along with Mei for a solid minute, poking his chin thoughtfully. "Mort go first," he answered the living doll suddenly, wondering if . . . Well, one way to find out.

Bracing himself, the zombie took a step onto one of the inner panels.

GSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Around the same time that his weight was fully on said panel, water suddenly gushed out from beneath a square two diagonals from him to the right. Again, Mortimer cringed, but he managed to stay on the panel this time. So it seemed fair game that anytime one of them took a step, water would come out of somewhere . . .

He turned to face the four ghouls. "Okay. Um. Can all go at same time, or . . ." He paused, turned around to look towards the opposite end of the room, counted to make sure, and then faced his team again. "Mort can make straight path with heavy packs for yous. Can do for four squares 'cuz of four packs we have." Mei's didn't look as if it'd be heavy enough to set the trigger off; well, he didn't think so. "Maybe work?" the zombie finished uncertainly, unintentionally making it a question. "If bad idea, then . . . then only Mort gets hurt."

LW gave Mort's shoulder a squeeze (as that was what she seemed to have grabbed when she latched on to the boil and Natalia) and leaned against her fellow were. Alright, she could calm down a little being with her group. It was being alone and getting stuck with the memories of the last field trip that really did her in. But being surrounded by...most of her group, the she-wolf was able to slow her accelerated heart beat down to something less dangerous. It still nagged at her that not all of them were there, but Whisper would be following shortly. Right? Yes. LW wouldn't let herself believe otherwise. So she turned a small smile up towards the lemur, glancing at Mei as well to offer her the same smile. "Yes. I made it. Did not like that feeling. I'm sorry I worried you." The she-wolf's tail thumped against Natalia once.

Looking at Mortimer, LW sighed a little. "I was afraid that was the case. Doesn't surprise me." She eyed the floor warily. Wonder how hot the water is...? Probably not the best of questions to ask. Nor was thinking that they would soon find out. She nodded at the boil's words. Waiting for Whisper was a smart plan.

With the appearance of their final member, LW gave Natalia a squeeze before slipping out of the were's hold so she could have free arms to hug Whisper. The she-wolf grinned at Whisper, giving her a wave. "Glad to see you made it through!" Tail flicking from side to side, belaying her discomfort with being here, LW moved to stand next to Mei and get a good look at the room. Her question made the she-wolf wince a little as she watched the tiles. "Umm...." Good question. Thankfully (or not so thankfully, she couldn't think of another word) Mort stepped forth to go first and make sure it was safe for the ghouls. What a sweetheart.

LW watched him carefully, holding her breath and hoping nothing happened. She let it out once the boil was standing unharmed on a tile. Well, so far so good. "Should...we all just pick a tile and move along carefully? Or pair up on a tile and go from there?" She wasn't sure if Mort's idea with the packs would work, though it was a good thought. Her tail swished some more as she considered what they could do.

"I....I think, we all have to make it across." The she-wolf said after a moment. Especially considering that this was a) one of those blasted field trips and b) Red seemed to be in charge of it. "Why don't we all try making it onto a tile..." She trailed off as she watched one of the tiles fly up with steaming water. Jackdammit! This was going to suck majorly, wasn't it? Taking a deep breath and shoving any lingering fear to the side, LW took a hesitant step towards the tiles. When nothing happened, she moved on until she stood on one, like Mort - who she gave an encouraging smile too that they were doing this right. Hopefully. Maybe. Oh Jack....

Hadn't she promised a certain someone she wouldn't do anything reckless?

Smiling at the she-wolf, she gave her a quick hug before releasing her again. "Just glad to have you back with us." Turning back to the task at hand, Mei held her breath as Mort made the first move. Things were going smoothly so far, but this was only the beginning, and there was still the whole team to cross. What joy..

"I think..we should all go at the same time. Get it over with. There's no use hanging back, since we'll have to cross eventually anyways." Shaking her head at Mort's words, she continued. "To be honest, I don't think heavy packs would make a difference. It seems to be triggered at random. Besides, I don't believe the rest of us want you to get hurt either. I think LW's idea would probably work better. Just move at random and go from there."

Nodding to LW, she followed after, taking a step towards a tile of her own. On the bright side; if she did get squashed like a bug---then she could regenerate anything broken, right? She hoped so at least. "Huu..first step done with--only the rest of the way to go!"

Natalia chuckled, a hint of nervousness shaking her voice audibly as her eyes bounced from Mei to LW, and then to Whisper when the hellhound finally made her appearance. Just as soon as the ghoul spoke, the monster reached over and interlaced their fingers together with a wide smile spreading across her lips. Thank GOODNESS everyone was finally in the same room, on the same page…for the most part. Pressing herself closer to the hellhound, leaning in to place her lips against the base of Whisper’s ear, Natalia spoke softly. “Next time we go in together!” The simmering laughter that followed was hesitant—the house was full of tricks, she probably shouldn’t go around making promises she might not be able to keep.

But in any case the words were said, her smile was sincere, and her eyes trailed from the glowing orange of her ghoulfriend’s, to the pasty white of the tiles before them. When Mort took his very first step, Natalia cringed. If he would have gotten hurt, she would have freaked the fcuk out…so she was thankful that the boil had made the first move unscathed. “Nice one…” She chirped from the sidelines, the joke ridded with nerves.

Waiting on the others to take the next step, she listened to both of the ghouls intently, or as best she could over the hiss and roar of steam blowing tiles all around. LW’s idea sounded best in the monster opinion, even IF it put two at risk of being slammed against the ceiling instead of just one…but huddling up a teammate would sound better than standing it alone. When LW placed a toe on the tile, proceeding just as carefully as Mort had, Natalia made a similar face and held her breath…expelling it for but a moment when the werewolf survived, only to freeze up again when Mei did the same…Success!

It was then their turn, the two left standing on solid ground…the lemur looked to her hellhound and shuddered, words spilling out as confidently as she could muster.

Alright hon, we will all be just fine. Just step on a tile! We are all right here!” Not that Whisper needed coaching….Natalia was just feeling a bit overprotective.

Releasing her grip and taking several steps toward the tiles, Natalia sent a long leg out and pressed it against the one beside Mort—breathing feverishly.

Please, do not blow up…” Shutting her eyes while taking her tail in both hands, the monster hopped onto her selected place and squeaked.

Gasping when the space in front of her burst into steam.
