Makali padded happily through the lands, a briskness in his step on this fine mid-morning. The sun was shining, it wasn't quite hot yet, and he had mischief on his mind. The only way it could have been better was if Chokuto and Wingu would have been able to be there, too. Most unfortunately for the grey lion, both were busy with other things... Stupid responsibilities. His friends since cubhood, he couldn't believe, had responsibilities today! Well, he had them too... He was just... shirking them. If he had to guess, he'd bet that both Wingu and Choku had shirked their responsibilities too, but now their paws were held to the proverbial fire and they could no longer procrastinate. Still, Makali was determined to have some fun without them.

After all, a day was wasted, in his mind, if he did not spend it causing some well-meaning chaos. It kept life interesting!

He had no specific ideas about what to do, but he had an idea to meander closer to the borders today... Something in his gut told him that this was a brilliant idea, and his gut was rarely wrong! So he was off, headed out towards the border. He kept his wits about him, as he had heard of some strange happenings out here lately, but continued on anyway. There was no stopping him.

He reached the border and sat back on his haunches in the shade of a rock... "Now, what to do... Other than wait for someone to do something to." he said to himself, glancing around the rock. There was always the classic "BOO!" but that was much too cliche. No- this had to be good. Or if he was going to do that, it at least needed a twist. Just then, an idea popped into his head... Yes, that would do quite nicely. After a short hunt, the lion caught a rabbit, and set it on the opposite side of the rock- the side an outsider would see. He himself hid on the pride-ward side of the rock. No all he had to do was wait... The lion grinned and giggled a couple of times, quietly, before silencing himself, tail twitching lightly at his side. This is going to be great! he thought to himself, eagerly anticipating a rogue encounter.

The younger male was happy. He and his mate had taken refuge around the Pridelands, waiting for his father to catch up before he approached the border. Koa rested at home with his mother, and he was quite happy to have the moments away so that he could speak to his father again. It had been so long it felt, since they had seperated. Now here they were, going strong and staying together as a family. It was a wonderous feeling!

"Cmon pops! You are far too slow." He groaned, kicking the grass and looking irritated. He was in such a tizzy about learning the lands that he really didnt feel like waiting for his father. But he did, of course.

"Oh you should stop with the urging. Ive got older bones than you, ya know. I also just finished a far too long trek across the wilderness to find you. Give your old man a break."
He groaned, trying to keep up with his son as much as possible. It was hard, the energy that Hayven had knew no bounds it seemed. He was happy though, the sun was bright overhead, and boy was it warm. He loved the look of the place,. It was nice to be away from the mists and foggy lands. He could finally be where he felt he belonged.

Mak couldn't wait for someone to happen by, though it had been a while since he set up. The shadow of the rock was moving and the savannah was heating up. Normally, he didn't mind this temperature- he was pretty used to it, but there was something about today... Something about knowing that that hare was on the other side of that rock... He could smell its delicious aroma wafting through the air as the sun started to shine on his back.

"Ignore it, it'll be worth it," he kept telling himself, but something within him kept screaming otherwise. "Seriously, Makali, keep it together," he said aloud to himself. His stomach growled at him with perfect timing to interpret it as a viable complaint. The lion rolled his eyes and thought for just one moment before he decided... He'd waited long enough. He swiveled around the rock and started to crunch on part of the rabbit. It wasn't much, but made a nice afternoon snack. He was only into his first bite, however, when he started to hear voices. He swiveled his head around to see a pair of lions he'd never seen before! It was possible they were pride members (the Pridelands had a nearly uncountable populace, it felt like,) but if they were, they had to be fairly new. Or else hermits. But they didn't seem like the latter.

He decided to hold off on the rest of his rabbit as he rose to his paws, silently cursing his decision not to wait just a bit longer... He could have leapt out at them at just the right time. It would have been golden. Stupid stomach.

He didn't let those thoughts show on his face, though, as he gave a friendly smile and watched to see if they were coming towards the lands or just passing by...

Hayven had thicker fur, giving him a rather.. heated look when he looked at his father. He would have been sweating if he could have! But he merely shook it off. New things were more interesting than the idea of being a tad too hot. He would get over it, Koa would like it here.

"Daaaad, come ooon." He groaned, and when he turned his head, he was surprised to see the other. He was curious as to why he hadnt smelled the blood of the rabbit before, but he supposed he was just a tad preoccupied. A smile lit up his face, and he turned to his father once more.
"Look dad, we have run into someone." He grinned, and turned his attention to the monochromatic lion in front of him. His ears swiveled forward in interest and he bowed his head in greeting.

"Good day, sir!" He said happily, obviously a rather friendly lion. Chincha was more guarded than his son, but still he approached with a pleasant smile on his maw.
"Yes, good day to you. Where .. are we? If I might be so bold as to ask?" He cocked his head and waited for the reply. Wherever they had landed, he was sure this was home. He didnt think he could leave if he wanted. He liked it so far. Plentiful food, water, and land. He knew he could be happy here, with his mate and his children.
"My name is Chincha'Jibari. And this is my son Hayven." He greeted, moving a paw between him and his son.

Makali had been a bit cautious at first- you never know what you were getting with rogues, and in the instance that they hadn't been friendly, it would have been a two on one. Plus, Mak was a prankster, not a fighter. Not in the least. However, his shoulders visibly loosened when the strangers started to speak. Maybe he was quick to judge and quick to trust, but he was sure he wasn't making a mistake here- these two seemed quite friendly and harmless.

"Good day to you two as well!" he returned, oddly cheery for someone who had missed out on a good prank. "Ah, you're near the Pridelands here. Well, technically speaking, you're in the Pridelands, the border is that way," he said, pointing a claw in the direction they came from. "Don't worry, though, we're not super territorial unless you're here to hurt someone or anything." He had heard that some prides would chase strangers away violently for coming anywhere near their borders, let alone crossing them. He thought it would be a good disclaimer to give. "I'm a member of the pride, my name's Makali, but you can call me Mak for short, if ya want," he offered. "Hey, you guys are rogues, right? You hungry?" He asked, pushing the rabbit forward as an offer. "I was just munching, I haven't had much at all. So- where're ya headed?" he asked, sitting back on his haunches, glancing from one to the other with a toothy (but friendly) grin.

Chincha smiled at the males obvious friendly demeanor. One couldnt be too happy that someone was kind enough to introduce their lands. He looked around him, and then his eyes followed the claw that pointed in the direction they had come. Oh dear, that was incredibly rude of him. He blushed a bit, obviously embarrassed as he should have smelled the pride borders. But when the male said that it was alright, he eased visibly and smiled.

"Im starving.." Hayven spoke at once, pulling the rabbit towards him with a smile up at Mak. "Thank you, thats very generous." He had never met someone kind enough to give him his meal. Or at least, to let him share it. He felt bad enough taking it but he had refused to hunt around here until he knew the lands.

"I do apologize about him." Chincha responded, rolling his eyes at his {oh so rude} son. Shaking his head, he ignored the brash actions of his boy and turned his attentions to the topic at hand.

"We are from the Mizuka'Nyevu. The pride has disbanded, allowing its members free range. And that of course brings its downside." He chuckled.

"Yeah." Piped Hayven in between bites. "Leaving us completely homeless, and in need of a safe haven." When he said the word haven he couldnt help but chuckle.

"This is beautiful land you have. And.. We arent here to hurt anyone. We are trying to escape that kind of thing." Hayven grinned, standing from the kill as he had eaten what he deemed as enough.

"No problem!" he said with a nod. "That's my job around here, so it's all good. And even if it wasn't, I imagine traveling would be tiring. I've never really left home, you see... Maybe just beyond the borders enough to make it back quickly, but that's about it," he admitted a little sheepishly. He'd never had wanderlust too strong- there was plenty to do in the Pridelands. Besides, there were so many lions here, among other species, really, that he didn't need to leave. He loved pranking, and you couldn't prank when nobody was around. From what he understood, that's what life was like in the roguelands- relatively desolate.

He couldn't really say he had heard of their pride... but he nodded as if it was once vaguely mentioned to him. The smile vanished from his face and his eyebrows knitted together. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, guys! That must be awful..." He couldn't imagine if his pride dispersed... There wouldn't be enough room in the roguelands, he was sure! But really, he was so accustomed to everyone- his pride was really something special to him. He would hate to lose it, ever. He wondered, if such an event were to happen, whether he would even leave, or just stay on the lands with Choku and Wingu.

"Yeah, that is a dilemma... But you know, if you're looking to move somewhere, I doubt you'll find a better pride than this one here!" he said with a wide smile. Makali never turned down making some friends. Who knows, perhaps one of these lions would join Choku, Wingu and himself! With another set of paws, think of the more grand pranks they could pull! "There's all sorts of creatures here- we've got plenty of members and we don't mind non-lions either," he boasted, feeling very much like a recruiter. "Like you said, the lands are nice, and I love it here. Not a single complaint. I can take you for a tour before taking you to see those you'd need to see to join, if you're serious..." He offered.

He had hit the nail on the head. Traveling -was- tiring. Not to mention boring. At first Hayven had been excited at traveling and seeing the world. He had quickly found that that world was boring and he just wanted to stop walking everywhere! He had been ready to comment on the fact, but then the male about his age offered the refuge here. With a large smile, he nodded, letting his grey mane bounce in his soft blue eyes.

"I cant think of anywhere better. I know that Im serious. Do you guys have enough room for my mate to follow? I could never join without her." He responded quickly. He was talking fast but he supposed it was his nerves acting up.

Chincha was a bit more reserved and he nodded. He looked to his boy and a smile plastered on his maw. He certainly was a youngster in terms of his energy. He just was neverending!
"I have his brothers and sisters, and my mate as well. I thnk we would be happy to call such a place home. That is, if you are able to take us all."
He laughed, a deep throated happy sound.

Makali absolutely beamed. Being a hunter, he didn't frequently meet new pridemembers until they were completely moved in. Today seemed to be an exception, though- he had to admit he was pretty happy about it! "Of course, of course! Home is where the heart is, and so often family makes up a large portion of the heart," he said with a couple of vigorous nods, the wisdom coming from his mouth being a tad out-of-character to admit. Perhaps it was due to his missing out on hanging with his friends today... And they were as good as family to him. "There's plenty of space here- I'm absolutely certain you'll be able to find dens large enough and near enough for everyone. I'd wager you can even find larger dens that are nearby one another, if you wanted," he said, amber eyes turning from one lion to the other."

"I'll lead you around, then?" the grey lion offered as he started to pad inland.
