The Purple Bedroom One of four bedrooms on the second floor, the Purple Bedroom is free to use by all who can access the inner workings of Fa'e HQ. (However, it is not a permanent home and should not be treated as such.) Each of the four bedrooms contains two queen beds, a small closet, a dresser or two and a nightstand with lamp. The far wall holds a small window that looks over the common room. Shared bathrooms are located at the end of the hallway. The Purple Bedroom is water-themed, with a wave motif on the bedspreads and oddly realistic fish carvings on the walls. All the wall sconces are shaped like seashells. The window even has what seem to be bubbles in the glass, and the view through it is wavy, as though seen through water. How odd. And slightly headache-inducing...

One would think being picked up and held like she wanted would calm her down, but noooo. Not this toddler. So when Callix suddenly scooped her up, Seung screeched in his ear, certain that a monster had come to eat her. But they were going away from the scary place and she didn't feel hurt at all. It was just that boy afterall....She buried her face in his shirt, shaking and crying.

Callix kept trying to soothe the toddler, all the while his heart pounding in his ears. "Venir, petit l'un. Je trouverai un endroit sûr pour vous. I...I mean, I will find a safe place for you."
His hair whipped in his face and he kept trying to move it to he could see. There was a door that looked relatively safe, safer than the mass that was growing at the end of the hall. It had eyes and arms coming from every place on its body. He made sure not to let Seung see as he ducked into the frst bedroom he found.
It was quiet in here, silent and sealed off, it seemed, from the chaos outside. Callix found a small closet and opened the door, setting the toddler inside. "There, now... please don't make any noise. You'll be safe here, okay?" He tried his best to calm his own nerves, appearing calm for the toddler. He didn't even know her name.

It is completely dark. What little light manages to make its way through the window only illuminates sections of the walls -- which are, thankfully, not bleeding. The fish once carved into the walls, however, have been replaced with those that look suspiciously like human faces, twisted into grotesque expressions. The bedsheets are stained dark, and on top of the nightstand is the only thing that really catches the light: a knife.
There is a faint but persistant tapping. It seems to come from the window.

Seung looked around fearfully. It was dark, way too dark! The tapping, to Seung it sounded like something was in the room with them. She grabbed onto Callix's arms "Oppa! Don't leave!" The little mothfish quivered. She didn't want to be left all alone in the dark.

He hadn't heard the tapping before, and he couldn't just leave her here. Callix thought it was safer if she stayed in the closet, but the look of the bed and the tapping on the window unnerved him and he wrapped an arm around the toddler.
"Je ne sais pas ce que pour faire..." he admitted with a frightened sigh, though he was grateful Seung did not understand French. He grabbed her and stood up again, looking around the room. The faces on the wall made his skin shiver and he turned away, hoping the toddler did not see it.
What could he do?
The knife could help if something attacked them, and he snatched it up quickly, holding Seung with the other arm. "I'll protect you." He couldn't leave the room, something was out there. Something was in here too. Gulping, he held the knife with his tail and decided to try and push the bed towards the window, hopefully crushing whatever was making the noise.

The moment Callix takes a step towards them, the faces begin to moan, low and gutteral, shifting lethargically in the plaster. The closer he approaches them, the louder they scream and the more insistently they push against the walls as if trying to get out.
The knife is long and slightly heavy, sharp at the edge and covered in blood. Whose blood? The bed seems light, and the answer comes as soon as it is moved: there is a noticeably deteriorated corpse underneath it, half-wrapped in sheets and completely still.
There is nothing at the window, but the tapping continues nonetheless.
The closet seems safe; it is filled with clothes, and no noises, corpses, or ghastly figures.

Seung wrapped her arms around Callix's leg and pulled. The closet might be small and scary, but it wasn't as bad as the big scary room. Her wings slicked down as the faces started moving. "Go 'way!" she screeched at the faces. She tugged on Callix's leg harder, trying to drag the older boy to where it was safer.

Deciding the room was too sickeningly familiar, he crawled into a corner of the closet with Seung wrapped up in his wings. He held the knife, still bloody, and kept the closet door mostly closed. A portion of it would not close, rusted shut and leaving it open a crack. Trying to still his breathing, Callix watched the corpse, an eerie sense of deja vu washing over him.

As Callix retreats, so do the faces, until they are silent and still once more. Only the ones he can see through the crack in the closet door continue to glare at him accusingly.
It seems like an eternity before anything happens -- but suddenly the corpse stirs, the sheets falling down, and...
It must've been a trick of light before: it isn't a corpse at all but a young woman, demurely pulling the stained sheets up to cover her nakedness. Perhaps she had been hiding as well, before Callix moved the bed, and only moves now thinking she's alone.

Oh god. No, oh god. Please no.
Something akin to anxiety and panic washed over him and he held Seung close, willing her not to speak. Whoever she was, she did not seem friendly, though strange feelings coursed through the child. No, he would not move. He would not abandon the toddler.
Callix could not help up rock back as forth as quietly as he could, feeling the wetness of the toddler's tears on his shirt. He still had the knife, he told himself. He still had the knife.
"Shhhh..." he whispered to Seung.

Seung whimpered as she saw the woman get up. "Shhh?" She put both hands over her mouth so she could be really really quiet. Except...her wings were quivering, making little rustling noises. She pressed as close as she could to Callix. Her wings next to him were stilled by being pressed between them, but the other set still quivered.

The rustling does not go unheard. "Hello?" The woman calls out nervously, and after a moment, stands up unsteadily. "Who's there?" As she turns towards the direction of the closet, her hair falls over half of her face, partially obscuring it.
After another moment she begins to approach, hips swaying and sheets threatening to leave her indecent. Her footsteps are hesitant and slow though. "Marco..."

"Mmmmf...!" Seung tried to keep herself from screaming at the woman. Scary lady needed to go back to sleep. She couldn't calm down enough to get her wings to quit shaking, so the toddler pressed her back up against the closet. But doing so made her kick out her feet, one of which hit the door with a soft "thunk!"

"Shhhhh!" Callix tried his best to keep her quiet, but he knew the woman could at least hear them now. She was too close for comfort and it made his skin crawl. His eyes fixated on where her face should have been, but to him, all she was was a body. A very naked body closing in on them. Backing up, he tried to keep himself between the woman and the toddler, anger and something else flaring up inside him.
If nothing else, he'd lead the woman away and Seung could be safe beneath some blankets in the closet. He knew not how to use a knife and instinctively decided to use his teeth and nails instead. With a decisive intake of breath, he stood up and out of the closet, slamming the doors behind him to protect the toddler. No matter what, he'd keep Seung safe.
"Polo." Callix wheezed, every hair standing on end.
