Tony really didn't believe that had happened. It felt like an eternity ago, but it wasn't. It was a matter of hours. Hours! How was that possible? He wasn't sure, he still felt like he was in a strange state of shock. Not from bodily harm, though he was sadly more than familiar with that, but from the sudden change within him.

He was both eager and terrified to power up.

The same feeling had happened when he first became Camelot, and had to adjust to the fact that he was in armor and chain mail. The first time he powered up had changed everything. This... new version of his second self was much the same experience.

Closing his eyes, he took a breath and powered up as he often did, in the quiet of the closed library.

He opened his eyes and he was not the same. But the duties were. He moved from the library to begin his patrol, careful not to be seen. Once he was in the street he walked a bit more confidently, now that he knew no one had seen him and the real work would begin. If there was anyone who needed protecting, he was there to do it. And with new power.

He wasn't the only person out that night who had power, was separate from the civilians milling about the city. Tonight was a night spent gathering energy, soon he'd be going to space but until then he would do his part by gathering energy. He knew it was needed, for what he wasn't completely sure given what was going on at present. But he did know it was always needed, and it was a part of his normal duties.

Slender hands wrapped about the hot coffee he'd bought down below, in civilian form, several minutes ago. It was cold outside, the wind chilled his cheeks pink. His hands held the cup tightly, soaking in the warmth, he brought the cup to his lips as he sipped slowly. He had energy orbs in a small messenger bag at his side. He'd been at it for a little over an hour now and thus the need for a hot drink, he needed to warm up.

Ploping down on the ledge of the building roof he let his senses wander, picking up on someone in the area, he didn't worry too much. They weren't eternal, or a senshi even. Perhaps he could finish his drink before they arrived, if they decided to pursue his own energy signal, and maybe even high tail it out of the area. He wasn't up for fighting, he had energy to collect and a General to call and turn it in to.

Camelot felt the dull pulse of a chaotic aura nearby, and followed the feeling. Where there was the Negaverse there was usually someone lying on the floor, drained of their energy, or well on their way to being in that state.

He hurried a little bit, wanting to help said person if this was indeed that case.

It was exhausting, always being late for things like that.

Camelot instead found a Negaverse agent, a Lieutenant if he had learned their ranks correctly and was identifying his power level properly, taking what appeared to be a coffee break. This wasn't the first time he found one of them drinking tea or coffee, and he had hopes that this time, like the other, they might just be able to talk.

"Not out making trouble, I hope," the Squire offered, by way of a greeting. There was no immediate thread here, and so he did not feel the pressing need to be threatening. They just had to keep their heads, and maybe they could just talk and see if they could see eye to eye on something.

Unlikely, but he always hoped.

It wouldn't surprise him if many people, on all three sides of this war, took coffee or tea breaks especially when it was cold out. Setting the cuo down at his side he swung round so he could face the Knight properly. Now he knew this wasn't like the Page he'd met before, this one was stronger. But he didn't know what ranks they used, he might ask later if this didn't turn in to some battle.

"Taking a break, it's a bit chill tonight." Blond bangs hung about his face, framing it, he was like most intrenched in this war - a teenager at most.

Heels boots lightly touched the roof top, a certain delicate or graceful gesture while one hand reached for the cup and a sip was taken, slate eyes watching the Knight intently. He wasn't going to let his guard down but for the moment he felt the need to refrain from instigating a fight, he had precious orbs of energy on his person and didn't wish to lose them during a fight.

"Do tell, what brought you to my roof top? Something you wish to discuss or are you simply curious as to my actions this evening?" One leg lifted and crossed over the other as he made himself more comfortable. Well, the Knight was in luck if he simply wanted to talk. He was more than willing to acquiesce to that.

The Squire watched the Lieutenant, standing as casually as he could. He had his shield at his side, not wanting to appear intimidating or like he was going to fight. The Terra Viridis crystal glimmered within the wooden and metal casing, beneath it a dragon roared.

"It is," Camelot agreed, taking in the age of the young warrior. It wasn't surprising: in fact, he was more surprised now when he ran into people closer to his own age. That was the rare thing, which made the war that much more depressing. It was being fought by teenagers, who had a right to live normal, teenage lives, and have normal, teenage experiences to guide them through life. They deserved to be able to grow up to be adults. But instead, they were awakened or turned into soldiers.

It had always been the most disturbing thing, as far as Camelot was concerned, and remained one of his truest reasons for fighting to end the war. He wanted them to have lives.

"I felt your energy," he said honestly, "and I thought you might be draining someone, or hurting them in some way. That's usually what I find you guys doing. And I have to stop you when you do, of course. But if you're not interested in fighting, so much the better. I'm not really much for it, either."
PostPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:18 pm

It was indeed rare to find someone who wasn't a teenager, or just out of that stage of life. He knew of only a handful who weren't teenagers and one or two were close. This Knight was one of those who hadn't just left his teenager years, he was a rare thing indeed. A father himself perhaps, how odd. It was that same odd feeling he got when dealing with a certain Lieutenant.

At least he had decided, on his own, to join this fight and not just been brought in to it. He wasn't forced in to this war like senshi were, it was one thing he was grateful fore. Had he been forced in to it,and it been against his will, he'd have been brought in and from there done nothing. He'd have hidden, denied his power and title. He'd met more than one person he thought should be hiding and denying what they were, they didn't strike him as able or wanting to handle this war.

"Oh...I was gathering energy earlier. I'm taking a break, the cold is getting to me. I find that given my size I get colder faster than the majority of people." Casual as ever as he sipped his drink, his pale eyes on the older man. "And no, I'm not particularly interested in a fight at the moment." Breaks from fighting, and time out like this without any interruptions were nice and something to be savored while they could be. "Just so you know...I don't try to hurt the people I gather energy from. Some however put up a fight, and I don't care for being injured myself. The energy is needed, so I'm willing to compromise my morals when need be." A simple shrug followed the casually spoken words.

"Tell me....what's brought you out tonight?" Curious and trying to make conversation. It was far better than fighting and far more polite than ignoring the older.

Camelot was, in fact, a father, though how closely his son was tied to this world of his, this second life, he didn't actually know. The two were not very close, though they lived in the same house. They were very often apart, neither at home at the same time for the most part. Camelot imagined that was because Nate was a reckless teenager, who had better things to do, just like he had once been.

Not that he was a senshi, and had been one far longer than Tony had been a knight.

he frowned, but at least the nega was being honest.

"Are those people alright? The ones you drained. I've seen some of you kill them before, but others don't. That doesn't make it right, either way. You're still hurting them, whether you think you are or not. Or if there's pain or not." He sighed, knowing he probably realized and was okay with that already. That was his job, just like it was Camelot's job to stop him. As his question was answered for him, he nodded his head.

"I know. I can understand why and how you're doing it, but that doesn't make me any less inclined to stop you. Anyway, that's why I'm out. Patrol." He didn't share that he was testing out this new form of his. He didn't think it was a good idea to say he was a newbie Squire.

"Of course." Seeming affronted - offended by the man's question. "I don't take starseeds, only energy. They'll be tired but there fine other wise." Something snobbish abut him seemed to come out as he turned his head away, a rather sharp movement. "I do have morals." He stated, a bit of a snap to his tone. Why was it always that they were the killers, the ones who stole never borrowed. It was sickening and downright annoying to hear the same accusations and questions over and over again. Even in the questions he could hear the accusations, the assumptions.

"As far as I can tell there isn't any pain, aside from the normal pain causes by human panic at being grabbed by some unknown person. I'd dare say some of them make it away better than I have." Thinking of the nasty fall he'd taken in the park with a person, it had hurt and left him sore come the next day.

"I don't see you knowing just why we gather energy. It's not something others are likely to know, nor inclined to find out." As he spoke he turned his eyes back onto the other. Anger shone in his eyes, anger at someone thinking ill of him, thinking him to be lacking in morals. It hurt hearing such questions because he knew he was lumped in with others, that they were all labeled in such fashion and with the same label. Slowly he calmed himself, a few deep and slow breaths taken through his nose.

"I do hope your uniform is warm." Tonight was a cold night, his uniform was thankfully warm even if it wasn't warm enough. It did a fairly good job, if it were any other uniform he'd have been shivering with chattering teeth no doubt.

Camelot was surprised, but nodded his head. He knew that the Negaverse were not all straight up evil, just as he knew that some of them were. It was a complex relationship, between 'good guy' and 'bad guy', because within each team there were their own levels of morals and their own sense of justice. Each person needed to be dealt with individually.

He would be fighting for nothing if he assumed all Negas were evil and lost causes, or if he assumed all senshi were good above all else.

Everyone fought for their own reasons, just as he had his own.

"I'm glad to hear you have morals," he said honestly, nodding his head, "there are many who don't. And that's a shame. I didn't mean to offend you at all, I was just noticing that there are different methods by which you Negaverse agents operate, and I didn't know which one you subscribed to. I'm glad, at least, that you don't go out of your way to kill anyone. I don't, either."

Find common ground. It was the first step toward a peaceful arrangement. They had already agreed neither were really inclined to fight at the moment.

"I might not. Explain it to me," he ventured, hoping he wasn't pressing for too much information, "I mean... I don't have to do that to a person, so I can't know or understand why you have to. And I'm plenty warm. Chain mail is very thick. And heavy. Sometimes I wish there was a little less of it, but at least it keeps me safe."

"It would be rather odd if I claim to fight for my freedom, and that of those who cannot fight weather it be due to a lack of knowledge or ability, if I went and killed the people. Wouldn't it?" He questioned, it would be rather self defeating.

Finishing his drink he set the cup down, he'd throw it out at some point later. Folding his hands neatly in his lap he made a small gesture for the other to seat himself on the roof somewhere. Those manners of his, trained into him by his parents from a young age, coming through. "Yes, there are two ways of which we can gather energy. As far as I was told the starseed taking is for the most part not used, I won't say no one does it. That would be a lie, and I do try not to lie." Something which at times got him in trouble with people, but if someone asked him something why should he lie? It didn't achieve anything in his opinion, and anyway most things allowed for omissions and had loop holes.

"As far as I know, as I am fairly new to things, the energy goes to our operations in removing the senshi from our planet but also it goes to keeping the youma alive. You, as a solider and a knight, should understand respecting those of honor, who give their lives for a great and just cause." He spoke, half asking the other for an answer and half simply speaking.

"That being the case the youma deserve ones respect and the energy they require. They were after all the civilian warriors involved in the first war."

Camelot nodded his head.

"It would be," he agreed, moving to sit down. He nodded at the gesture to sit and joined him on the edge of the roof. It might not have been the safest thing, as he could easily be pushed, but powered up, he could easily survive the fall.

Camelot smiled.

This young man had manners, and he had his own set or morals. Just as Camelot thought, and tried to respect. He knew there were some Negas that he just plain didn't like, but this young man wasn't one of them. Not so far, at least. he was respectful and intelligent, which made him dangerous in his way, but he was also very dedicated.

Camelot knew not to take it for granted. This soldier was loyal.

"You destroy the lives of senshi and the civilians living here now, in small ways or in very large ones, so you can keep ancient humans who should have died by now yet live on as monsters, who also kill civilians and rather indiscriminately, alive?" He hadn't realized youma were people. That shook him deeply, for a moment, and he shoved it out of his mind almost as fast as it entered.

That was something he would have to think about deeper later. Right now, he could only process it on the surface level.

"I believe in and fight for the life on this planet right now. Your life, and those you fight with and against. Those you use for your plans, and those that get hurt in the middle of them. This war makes my involvement necessary, and if I could have my way in a perfect world, I would end it so you all can just go on living peacefully. You and the senshi... you all have civilians lives. You're all humans, in one way or another. You are all members of this planet. I know you don't believe that, because the senshi draw their powers from other planets, but that's an ancient war. That war is over. this one is new, and it's unnecessary. You're fighting for an idea, a history, and a lot of people are suffering and losing their lives because of it. Not just dying. But those your side corrupts, those that are awakened as senshi: their lives, the normal they knew, is gone. That's tragic, don't you think?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:15 pm

"They should pay for what they did to those people. It wasn't their wish to become that which they are at present. That Queen, the Moon's Queen, who these senshi fought for and look for did it. And now these senshi are back, reborn souls in the body of a Earthling." He spoke, the dislike for the senshi clear, but also his care for the youma. They deserved to live on and not be killed by senshi who had caused this problem to begin with.

"This war originated with the Moon's Queen, seeking to have control on this planet. They fought and died...and deserve to live. There not displeased, from what I can discern, with how they live." Though those ones behind the walls leading into the rift. those silence screams....that still sent shivers up his spine. They bothered him, greatly so.

Silenced as he let the man speak he nodded his head. The other made good points. He was someone who fought to end it, to end it on both sides. He didn't seem the sort to favor one side over the other, something to appreciate if nothing else.

"I believe that the war is over the control of this planet, as it was then so it is again. Senshi, those seeking the old Queen, need to be stopped from seeking her out. That is why I fight, to assure she is not found and not awakened. Should that happen it will be the past all over again, something I cannot allow. While you fight for the lives of people I fight for the freedoms of those people. What is living if your not free to live as you please?" He questioned, pale eyes having turned away moments ago found the man again. "The senshi are human but also they are not. I believe they should return to their home planets, bring life back to them, leave the Earth be." Perhaps if the Queen was found and killed and the senshi returned to their homes than things could be peaceful once more. Yes, it would be nice to return to civilian life, strictly so. But that wouldn't - couldn't happen any time soon and he knew it. Maybe one day he'd mourn the loss of a completely civilian life, but now he lacked the time for such.

"I cannot say I find anything wrong in corrupting a senshi, I rather think of it as them making up for the original war and for this one and what they fought for as a...proper senshi. What I find criminal, and rightly so, is the senshi having children not even teenagers among their ranks. But yes, it is tragic. War is nothing if not tragic." Turning his gaze away and casting his eyes upward.

"They say every generation fights some war, has some defining moment. I believe this generations moment is this war. It is significant, is it not?" It changed lives. Even after it all ended, whenever that was, the scars both physical and mental would remain. Lives lost, people changed, families broken and many more things.

"And the senshi destroy our lives as well. We come in to this war to fight them. If not for them, for that Queen some want back, I would not have joined. I fight for freedom." Perhaps he'd have made a good Knight himself, but he wasn't one. He was a loyal member of the Negaverse, imagine if that loyalty was to another side. "It is a cycle...which none will break, perhaps because they don't believe the other side will give should their own side break first."

Camelot shook his head slowly.

"I can't so easily buy in to the idea of blaming someone for who they were, when they aren't that person any more. Even if they're reborn souls," he knew that part was true, as someone had explained it to him before, though it had been some time ago now. And he hadn't really understood. Still, since powering up himself he had learned that even Knights hailed from some time in the past. He hadn't discovered his own yet, but was sure there was one to be discovered.

"Those youma... they're twisted creatures. They turn into dust. They only know how to hurt and kill. They're not living beings any more," he shook his head, "and are too long gone to be restored. And even if they could, would it be right? How damaged are they, how ancient? They don't belong in this world, if there is anyone that doesn't. I believe there is a life to live in peace, and there doesn't have to be any sense of not being free. Why is compromise such an impossible choice these days? You said yourself, your war is ancient. You're fighting because you have been told to fight: you have always been fighting. But when is it time to stop, and find a different way? For me, it's now."

He shook his head and sighed.

"The senshi can't control who is awakened or at what age. How is that worse than picking someone and filling them with chaos? Convincing them it's what they want? I saw this happening, I know how some of your rank do it. Let alone corrupting a senshi against their will. This is all just cruelty you think is justified because of some old dogma your people, and the senshi, carry around. But it's not right. None of it is, on either side. Your generation isn't fighting its war: it's fighting the same one someone else started, and ended. This is revenge, and intolerance, and a grudge gone horribly too far. You're not fighting for peace, or to an end. You're only fighting to destroy. Both sides: the goal is to exist without the other side. I can't accept that. And I won't."

He watched Benitoite keenly.

"I'll keep fighting for you, and for the senshi, and some day, there will be true peace. I'm going to break it, however I need to. This cycle, I mean. If the Negaverse and Senshi can, then maybe that's why the Knights are here."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 08, 2011 1:12 pm

"If they aren't that person anymore then why do some still wish for that Queen to return? Some are just as they were then, if not worse." He spoke, thinking of what bits of pieces he knew about kidnappings and torture being involved. "Some don't even adhere to the proper rules of warfare and engage in torture." A shale of his head followed this, making it seem like he was between anger, over such atrocities, and sadness, that people would sink so low.

Not one to let someone speak of the youma in such a way, especially when they didn't know them his pale slate hued eyes were on the other again. A light in his eyes, speaking of his devotion to the youma. Perhaps it was a little too strong, his emotions regarding the youma, bu he didn't think so. "You speak of them as if you know them. Yet I have sat and drank with them. They do not just hurt and kill, they drink and joke they play music. They have as much of a life as they can. No, they cannot be restored but why kill what lives, even if it is a half life? No, they couldn't and shouldn't be restored, that he would silently agree with. Who knew what damage would be there, mentally or physically even. But they should be left as they were, who decided that they were unworthy, they still lived and deserved protection.

"Those cats wake the senshi...we choose to fight, I chose to of my own free will. What will does a pre-teen have when a cat gives them power and tells them to fight?" He hadn't been convinced, he didn't know of other peoples turnings, he was clueless on that. It was something he considered rude to ask about, it seemed intimate and private somehow. There was just something very intimate about having someone touching, grasping, your starseed. No, it was nothing he'd ever ask someone else about. It wasn't his business nor place.

"A war reawakened. But at least you not against simply one side. Me, personally, I am fighting for an end and for freedom - peace. I fight for this to end." If the Queen was woken they were all in trouble, wouldn't it be funny if the very senshi who woke her got a good slap in the face when they realized they'd screwed everyone including them self? But as much as that would be enjoyable it couldn't be permitted to happen. And unfortunately, it seemed the best way to fight for peace and an end to things was to fight to put an end to the senshi, or at least some of them. As he spoke he was thinking and realizing certain things, things he hadn't taken the time to think of before.

"Perhaps that is the reason, since neither side will. But how will you cut the head off of both beasts? The top of the top." He didn't mean Tanzanite, god no. She wasn't the top of the top nor was she deserving of such a thing.

Camelot sighed, shaking his head. He believed that this whole situation was steeped in miscommunication and ideals, that those who were awakened and dragged into these fights were doing what they could based on what they faced and what they were told. It was easy to join a cause when it seemed like the right one, when everyone around you told you it was. But what if they were all following the same delusion that every new addition was subjected to?

There was another way. Camelot knew there was. He would find it, before more and more people were killed.

"Did you choose? Or were you convinced to? Your mind is not the steel trap you think it is, and these people you surround yourself have been recruiting people for ages. I've seen them try, and almost succeed, in turning people who I know would never want to hurt people into their soldiers. Once you have that chaos inside you, how can you trust your thoughts are the same as they once were? You can't. You don't know. You aren't the same, and you never will be."

Or would he be? Camelot hoped there was some way, at least.

"Whatever I have to do, I will. However long it takes, I will defend any life I can along the way. If I die trying, then I will not go out until I've done everything I possibly can. That's your conviction as well, I imagine. It's a shame we're not fighting for the same end, though it sounds like we are. I know the Negaverse are not all bad guys. I know you're loyal soldiers, and you're loyal to your cause. Just like the senshi. Just like the knights."
