All of Hypnos' trips to the Surrounding didn't seem to persuade her into keeping her feet firmly on the ground that was otherwise called Earth. No, not at all. In fact, her dreams had only been larger since she had gotten to see the Surrounding with her own eyes and imagine just how vast and wonderful the world was. She couldn't help but smile at the fact there was a small part of the world out there that was her birth right, the planet of her own.
It only seemed right that her first trip to Hypnos should be with the one who not only showed her his own planet but showed her how to travel to her own. It may have been fate that brought the two of them together, but when Ixion had come into view and the two had met up again it didn't take very long for the two actually decided they wanted to see what her planet was like. There were a lot of speculation, and dreams to live up to. At the very least, it certainly couldn't be any worse than the surprise the two of them had gotten while on Ixion.
Not until the two of them had disappeared from Earth and then appeared in the sky of Hypnos, only to fall momentarily after. There wasn't any time to even comprehend that they were in the sky because almost immediately after they made a bit of a splash into the sparkling clear water that covered as far as they could see like a blanket. It didn't take long for the child to realize that she was sinking into a pool of water. Somewhere along the attempt to swim, she'd lost her two slippers from her feet but they seemed to know how to swim, quickly floating up to the top of the water. Hypnos was a different story though, she didn't know how to swim! Lissy tried to teach her but that seemed so long ago! She tried to recall it but she felt like she was just sinking further and further in the process.
What she needed was less thinking and more swimming! For a moment she had made it to the top of the water's surface, her arms flailing about pathetically as she tried to stay afloat.
"Ixion!" She cried out as she coughed out water from her mouth before she sunk once again into the clear water that swelled all around them.

Going to space again wasn’t in very high on Ixion’s list of things to do, at least not to his own planet. It wasn’t exactly a successful trip. Going to Hypnos however? How bad could that possibly be? The girl was the senshi of sleep, Ixion couldn’t imagine a dainty senshi like her possibly coming from a planet that wasn’t as calm as she was.
There was no way he could have predicted that the beginning of their adventure to the asteroid Hypnos would be as disastrous as going to Ixion. When they emerged on the planet, all Ixion could see was a sea of blue rushing towards them. More like they were rushing towards it, Ixion felt all tingly from the falling sensation. He left go of Hypnos and curled himself into a ball. When his body hit the water, it made a great splash. Ixion came up to the surface quickly, grinning and looking for Hypnos to brag about the splash. She wasn’t there, just the rippling water and her floating slippers.
Looking down the water was pretty clear, he saw her form struggle to come up. When she sputtered his name, Ixion didn’t even dare to reply. There was no time for words, only action! He wasn’t the best swimmer in the world, but he had taken lessons before. Though he was more interested in playing in a pool then really swimming, he was decent enough. Ixion submerged himself under water, holding his breath. He swam towards the sinking Hypnos, grabbing onto her fuku collar then wrapped an arm around her and began to swim back up.

The surface of the water seemed absolutely calm compared the turmoil that hid beneath. Hypnos was sinking further and further by the second with her hopes drowning along side of her. She was trying so hard to swim but other than the brief experience of her head breaching the surface, she wasn't having any success, or at least she thought she wasn't! She could feel her body being drawn closer and closer to the surface until finally her lungs opened up and she took a big breath of fresh air.
She wasn't alone though, nor had she made it to the surface by herself. She was face to face with Ixion, her icy blue eyes staring directly into his caramel brown eyes as her face practically pressed itself against his. She was clinging to him, direly trying not to sink. She didn't have her inner tube, but it seemed she had found a suitable substitute.
"Ixion?" She gasped, almost nuzzling against him as she tried to hold onto him without pushing him down.
In the middle of her trying to stay afloat, she did manage to see where her slippers had floated off to. They were just a little bit away at this point and she tried to direct Ixion toward them. Actually, if either of them looked closely enough they would see that the water where the slippers were floating was exponentially shallower than the water they were floating in. It was like a little island had been flooded!

Keeping a float with Hypnos attached to him was a bit of a daunting task. While was a good deal bigger than the other chibi, he was not the best floatation device. Hypnos weighed him down, so that his head barely poked out of the water.
He spluttered a bit of water, “Hypnos?” Likely, the two children could have almost an entire conversation basely only around saying each other’s names with different inflections. Ixion wanted to be sure she was alright. He saw where she had pointed, towards her slippers. Instead of noticing the shallowness of the water there, he was instead thinking about how buoyant the slippers were. Hypnos could use them as paddles maybe. “You can’t really swim huh?”
She was clinging so tightly to him, it was hard to imagine anything else being true. “If you can try to kick and hold onto me at the same time, we can try to move over there and get your slippers. Just don’t be too tight, or you might sink me.” Ixion used one free arm to wade through the water like a large paddle and very lightly flutter his feet, trying not to kick Hypnos. He moved them a few inches.

The thought of actually being able to sink Ixion in her attempt to stay afloat hadn't even occurred to her so when he mentioned not holding on too tight to him, else he might sink, she nearly let go of him completely. Her face fell into the water and when it came back up it displaced a red and worried expression which cleared when she realized Ixion wasn't sinking. She was still embarrassed though, especially when he vocally announced the truth.
"I... I..., no... I can't swim. I'm sorry," she whispered, her face close to the water's surface.
She had begun to take his suggestion though, clinging to him less and kicking her feet through the water like she remembered doing with Lissy on the beach. They didn't move very fast, but with Ixion's wading, and then her kicking, it didn't take too long before they were within reach of her slippers and she kicked her leg against something. The surprise caused her to let go of Ixion with a squeal but instead of sinking down to the bottom of the water, she ended up landing on a soft padding of sand.
"Oh," was all she was able to say before the realization hit her.
She wasn't sinking! There was land here! She waded in the water almost blissfully! The first thing she could do with this knowledge was practically pounce onto Ixion, making quite a bit of a splash. It was only a moment before they resurfaced, and when they did there was a big smile on Hypnos' face as she wiped the water out of her eyes.
"Look Ixion! There's land!" There was so much joy in her voice and her face expressed only the happiest expression. It was like the best thing in the world for her to find out that her asteroid wasn't entirely water after all, even if it was just a little flooded island. It meant her planet didn't hate her! It was just mad that she hadn't visited in so long, right? It probably didn't like that she hadn't visited even once in her ten years of life until now that it hide the land under water!

“That’s okay. You just need to learn. Especially if you want to be coming here…” Ixion tried not to laugh at Hypnos’s dismay in his learning about her inability to swim. But if she didn’t learn soon, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to come to her planet without someone else… or at the very least an inflatable tube. So far, he couldn’t be sure if her planet or his was worse. At least his planet wasn’t just a giant ocean.
Swimming with Hypnos, he was just as surprised as she was to discover there was land underneath them. Ixion found that out when Hypnos pounced him and knocked him below the surface of the water. His eyes open, he could see the sandy bottom close by. It was shallow enough for him to actually stand on. When he resurfaced with Hypnos, he did it by simply planting his feet. “So there is, but it’s all the way under here. I wonder if this is it.”
Maybe that was how her planet was destroyed, in a giant flood.

His reiteration that if she'd have to be able to swim to be able to come to her own homeworld was a devastating blow to the child's hopes and dreams, confirming all the worries she had had on her own. What if she couldn't learn how to swim, would she never be able to come here again? She didn't want to have to burden anyone the way she had burdened Ixion.
It wasn't entirely gloomy though, not when there was just a slimmer of hope that took the form of a small land mass under her feet. Ixion's words helped to guide her attention toward it again as she too began to wonder if it was it. If there was land there, perhaps there was land elsewhere! There was no way she could find out though, especially not when she was unable to swim.
"I'm sorry there's nothing to show you," she said with genuine disappointment. Ixion had shown her his world, and it had been very big and interesting (although rather dangerous to Hypnos) but she had nothing show him in return except for this giant puddle. She could host the biggest pool party, although she probably wouldn't make the best hostess for a pool party when she couldn't swim.
The only real consolation was that the water was so mysteriously clear that they could see all around them and it was quite beautiful underwater scenery. It was a little eerie though, because other than the two chibi senshi, there wasn't anything swimming around with them. There weren't any fish anywhere to be seen. Did they scare them all away? Without fish, it was really just like a huge pool.
"It's pretty though," she commented, splashing Ixion with a bit of water by accident as she went to point toward one particular section she thought was nice.

“Don’t worry about it.” Ixion looked over at Hypnos. It wasn’t her fault that her planet was a seemingly endless ocean of nothingness. “Could be more to it. Never know. Maybe next time bring a life-vest, just in case.”
Ixion paused, standing there watching Hypnos was she looked out at the water and what was below. “Sure is….. ack!” Mid-stare Ixion was hit with a splash of water. That knocked him out of the trance, he probably could have stared at Hypnos’s hair for a while longer. There was just something about the strawberry blonde color in the sunlight that captivated the boy.
In retaliation, Ixion plunged his hands into the water and pushed forward quickly sending a large splash back at the girl.

Next time. Those were two words Hypnos hadn't thought to put together in this situation. Would she want there to be a next time? Of course she would, but it was hard to face the fact that it could just be a giant planet of water and she couldn't swim. What if all the interesting things were buried under the water's surface in places she'd never be able to go? Any thoughts she may have drifted off into thinking about were quickly splashed away by Ixion's retaliation.
She let out a squeak when the water hit her, her arms going up a little too late to protect herself from the water that would do absolutely nothing to her already soaked body. Well, that just wasn't nice? Nice or not, Hypnos couldn't help but let out a giggle before she too took the low road and used both arms to push some more water toward Ixion.

Water splashed over Ixion’s face. He turned his head and shut his eyes a bit to avoid the water. With Hypnos’s wave, Ixion went full-on water fight right back. Laughing, he blindly splashed water back at the girl, in the same way he’d continuely splash any other kid in a pool. Then the boy submerged under the water, only to rush back up. He popped up like a monster , with a rawr, and made one large wooshing splash of water.
He probably could have done that for a whole day, but it perhaps a bit too late for a beach/ocean party.

If the water hadn't been so clear, Hypnos might have been quite startled when Ixion popped out of the water like a monster with a roar. However, the water was quite clear and she could see him under the water before he even popped up out of it. Although she did not react the way she would normally have, the fact that she could still see him did not prevent her from letting out a bit of a squeal when he came out with a splash.
"Watch out Ixion, there might be a real monster down there!"
The thought didn't really hit Hypnos until it left her mouth and she suddenly got really close to Ixion. What if there really was a monster down there? She didn't know anything about her planet and she certainly didn't know what was lurking down in the depths. Although it looked peaceful on the surface, who knew what was in the areas of the depths she couldn't see. It was a menacing thought and Hypnos was really starting to feel uncomfortable standing in the middle of a monster's potential hunting ground with no where to go.
"Unn..." She whispered, her arms holding her phone tight against her. "You... do you want to go back to Earth?"

“Nah, just us.” Ixion looked down through the clear water. If anything was there, like a shark, he was sure it would have popped up to eat them already. That’s what he would do, if he was a shark.
At the suggestion, Ixion wonder just what time it really was back on Earth. It was always hard to tell when in space. Planets were like their own time zones, hard to gauge in relation to back home. “Maybe.” Ixion glanced up to the sky, the planet was such a big blue world. Looking back at Hypnos and her big blues, he shrugged. It wasn’t that comfortable wearing wet clothes especially boots, pants, and a jacket. But, Ixion wasn’t going to complain if Hypnos wanted to stay a little longer with him on their own private sunken island.

"We can come back," she whispered.
She didn't want to stay here with these thoughts though, not when her eyes were unable to distance themselves off of the depths of the water that she could not see. There was a fear she did not understand filling her body and she felt like they had lingered her past their due. She didn't want to risk anything happening when they were so unprepared and quite literally stuck on their own private sunken island.
"We'll bring floaties," she made an attempt to smile.
It was then that she concentrated back on her senshi phone, trying to hone back into the signal of Earth. It didn't take long and soon the two wouldn't be in the water of Hypnos anymore. They would find themselves quite like fish out of water, landing exactly where they had left except now soaked from their trip. Luckily for them, they would only have to say goodbye and then henshin down to go right back to dry, autumn friendly clothes.
