. : What Happens When A Civilian Dies : .

The civilians at the Surrounding are being killed. Their bodies are torn to pieces, blood flowing from wounds, breath shuddering into nothingness. In protection of the Surrounding, their friends, and themselves, these brave -- and sometimes not-so-brave -- people lost their lives. It was a sacrifice.

But they did not die.

When the mortal strand is snipped in half, these people change, but they are not gone forever. Moments after death, the bodies convert into a warm glow of bright light that is capable of traveling through the rainbow road like a flash of lightning. Communication is hard, movement is easy -- but the purpose of this transformation?

It remains a mystery.

. : How Does This Work : .

Your character might die, but their spirit cannot leave the Surrounding.

What are they?
It's a mystery. A soul? A ghost? They still have thoughts and feelings, but your character feels incredibly distant from reality. They lose track of time entirely and have a tendency to fade in and out of existence. They might be floating around an old friend one moment and the next thing they would remember would be dipping in and out of the Mirror Pools later.

What do they look like?
They exist as an incorporeal cloud of glowing gold particles. If touched, your hand will pass through, but it will feel warm. They can pass through any and all substances like a ghost.

What is their purpose?
That is not clear. They are only around some of the time, but if there is a youma battle, they can help fight. The particles emit a pulse of strong light energy. They won't be single-handedly taking down any youma, but they can definitely hurt one. They have no effect on civilians, Negas, or any other human.

Can they communicate?
Sort of. They can think all they want, but they have no mouth! If they want to communicate, it will take a lot of practice to focus their energy enough to potentially "write" a short message on a mirror or something else capable of being fogged up and then wiped. They may also enter into the body of a living person and speak directly to them. This is extremely tiring and should not be done in every single RP.

Wait -- can they possess another person?
A spirit civilian CAN go into the body of a fellow civilian -- no powered characters! They can make that person say something... but it will be super brief, like a sentence or two, before they are forced back out of the body. If they are just trying to talk to the person, then they can have a telepathic link while inside that person's body.

How do they move?
They fly around, but if they move too far from the Surrounding, they begin to flicker.

Can they be destroyed?
If they flew too far from the Surrounding, they would cease to exist.

What else can they do?
They can be absorbed into the Rainbow Road and travel from one place to another in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, their thoughts are fuzzy. Think of them like goldfish. They will forget things VERY easily.

Does dying mean you can't win a prize?
Nope. You are still eligible!

I have another question!
