Clan: Toyotama // ______
Role: Medic
Affinity: Wind // ______
Village: Hidden Cloud
Rank: Genin
History:

Takera and his brother Zeru were born on the outskirts of the Village Hidden in the Mist. Their mother carried no bloodline traits, however the father was that of the Uchiha. In the beginning few years, as a family, they lived in poverty, though they were all genuinely thankful for the house over their head and the food that they were able to grow and acquire through basic farming skills and bartering with those in the community around them.

It was on Takera and Zeru's 10th birthdays when their relatively peaceful lives would be shattered. The boys' father was a rogue shinobi from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Before he met their mother he had lived out his days spying in outlying nuetral lands and villages on behalf of The Leaf Village. On the day of the last assignment he would ever accept, their father found a beautiful woman with long silver-white hair. Going against the voices that urged him to remain distant for the sake of the mission, their father found himself wildly in love with this beautiful woman, growing closer and closer to her as the days passed.

One day, closed to the end of his spying tour, he was informed of critical targets that were hand picked for elimination. Among the short stack of profiles was the beautiful woman's profile. It was then that he had to make a decision--His village, or the love of his life. Their father and mother fled that day--eloping across the country borders until they found themselves settled on the outskirts of the Hidden Mist Village. It was here the boys were born, and here that it all came apart as quickly as it formed.

Shortly into the boys' 10th birthday, they arrived home to find that their mother had been brutally slain, blood splashed in an arc across the center table and wall behind it. Their father was no where to be found. The only clues that turned up were a trail of blood droplets that ended almost as quickly as it began. The hardship for the brothers became real, and the grieving process was a constant struggle for survival. The boys did anything they could to stay alive and keep any meager portions of food within reach.

Then, one day, Zeru came rushing into the house with a flyer he had pulled from a local bulletin board. There were conflicts going on, and large rewards were being paid out to those who could carry out special mercenary missions. It wasn't long before Takera and Zeru discovered that the Hidden Mist Village was accepting students at their Ninja Academy. The two quickly enrolled not knowing what was to come.

The two boys spent several weeks relentlessly pushing each other to the brink of exhaustion practicing everything from kunai throws to pinpointed chakra control. The two began to show a great deal of promise and it didn't go unnoticed. The boys were soon after recruited to join a large scale mission. They were immediately graduated from the Academy and awarded headbands with metal plates baring the symbol of the Mist Village.

Takera and Zeru reached the port and boarded the vessel that would lead them to their goal for completing this mission. Little did they know, they were lambs being lead to the slaughter. The targets were shinobi gone rogue that harbored powerful beasts sealed inside them. They were also the most promising of the Mist Village's Genin. There were a handful of other Genin who would join Takera and Zeru on this mission, but ultimately things would turn sour.

What was supposed to be a surprise attack wound up backfiring on the group as it was soon after learned that a member of the group had sold them out for acceptance into the targets' group. Despite putting up a considerable amount of fight, the group was ultimately subdued, however, it wasn't before a member seized the opportunity to decapitate the traitor in one fell swoop.

The brothers, expecting to be killed were instead taken hostage. A mysterious member of the target group emerged and used a bewitching jutsu to take control of those left still alive on the battlefield. The Mist Village would eventually come to the conclusion that those who went after the targets met with an unfortunate end. Those who had lived would wish they hadn't as they spent the following weeks tortured and worked to the point of breaking. It wouldn't be long before the boys were sold off to the highest bidder as slaves. The two brothers were brought to an unknown small village on the border between the Land of Fire and Land of Sand.

The brothers spent a good many years as slaves under an arrangement that they could buy back their freedom if they continued to work dedicatedly to the causes of their rich owner. They learned valuable bartering skills as well as trade skills in a variety of different daily duties.

Finally, the night before the big day arrived. Takera and Zeru were 21 years old, and could officially drink. The very next day they would be free of their captor and could start building a life for themselves again. The two did their best to drink and be merry despite the misfortune that seemed to follow them everywhere they went. When Takera had awoken, he was not in the same place that he fell asleep. The sky was only just beginning to crack with light, and he was having a hard time of hearing what was going on around him. In a split moment his senses came back to him and he urgently attempted to lift himself off the ground, but he was met with horrible pain coursing through his back and, both legs, and his left shoulder. His arms and legs had been broken--smashed and beaten. He gasped unable to make a noise as he trembled in fear and pain.

He slowly turned his weary head to try to see what was around him. His eyes grew wide, and a sense of terror creeped up his spine like none before. Something far more frightening than any of the torture, training, and servitude the two endured together. There beside him lay his brother Zeru, cold and pale. Takera feintly cried out for Zeru, but there was no response. With all the might left in his body, Takera was able to reach his brother's body, only to know upon contact that his worst fears had come to pass. His brother, and only other existing family had passed away. Takera began to break down in a way that no torture could have ever yielded from him. He kicked and thrashed and screamed bloody murder to his voice was streined and he began hack up blood. Tears streamed down his face steadily.

His violent outburst had worsened things drastically. His body was breaking down faster than his mind and wounds were growing harsher by the second, blood begun to poor free from his legs, and everything was beginning to fade when a blur appeared before him. Takera's resting expression as the last of his strength depleted was one of damnation. A lost soul crushed under the weight of his own mental and physical burdens. A voice tried to reach out to Takera as he passed out, but his hearing had already been replaced by a steady empty ringing silence.

A nearby man who had begun to hear Takera's violent outbursts came rushing to investigate, ducking behind a small tree at the edge of a small clearing with patches of short grass. In the distance, he spotted several bodies laying around. A disgusting smell of the rancid deceased blew over him. Takera's cries began to fade. The man covered his mouth with his sleeve-covered forearm and pressed forward quickly across the field. As he grew closer he began to inspect the corpses until he came across a couple laying in the center of the field. It was the brothers. It only took a glance for the man to understand the situation and the condition each of the boys were in.

There was a puddle of blood beginning to form under Takera's legs, and Takera was fading quickly. The man found himself caught up in an internal debate of his options. If he were to act, he would need to do so quickly. It was possible that the boy already attracted unwanted attention, though no signs of others' presence were sensed. The man let out a sigh as a bead of sweat rolled down past his temple and onto his cheek. The option was clear, but it wasn't going to be easy. The man conjured up and molded an incredible level of chakra. His hands ignited with a fierce glow as chakra took physical form. The man placed both hands on Takera's back and a wave of chakra began to spill over Takera's broken shoulder. The chakra coursed over his entire body from head to toe. His wounds began to seal over, but he was already in critical condition. The man took a plastic tube and some accessories from his back and begun to rig his equipment for a very risky surgery.

The man had filtered some of his own blood into Takera to stabilize him. There wasn't any time to find and confirm a suitable match. All he could do is hope that the two would be compatible to some extent.

1 Year Later

Takera awoke from a deep sleep. His eyes slowly crept open. He winced at the morning light flowing into his room from the nearby window. Takera laid very silent in contemplation. As his eyes adjusted, he found himself staring aimlessly at the sealing. The urge to cry was overwhelming, but he long since reached a point where the tears would no longer flow. An aching void had taken a place in his heart in the wake of his brother's death. Weary, Takera sat up slowly, dragging and draping his legs over the edge of the bed where his feet met the cold wooden floor.

The man had been sitting in the kitchen when he heard a noise from Takera's room. He peered up from his morning paper and set it down slowly on the table. The old man rose from his seat with his eyes locked on Takera's open doorway. The man moved towards the door slowly with curiosity as he peered around the edge of the door. There sat Takera--upright on the edge of the bed. The man was absolutely astonished. Takera's wounded bones had still been so severe after saving the blood fusion saved his life that the man began to believe Takera might never fully recover. Takera's physical condition was weak from continuous bed rest, but the man had worked Takera's leg, back, and arm muscles twice daily to keep his body from fully fading.

Takera's eyes gazed up slowly from the floor to the man staring back at him from the hallway. His eyes and face carried a mostly hollow expression. After a brief moment of silence the man began to speak with Takera about his body and his injuries. Although Takera didn't speak, he still acknowledged the man's requests to move his legs and arms in various patterns. The critical damage to his knees/legs and shoulder were completely healed.

2 Years Later

Takera had spent the last two years of his life recooperating both physically and mentally. The man was more than ordinary and bestowed valuable medical skills to Takera, along with rigorous training intended to re-steady his mind and body. Takera had come to find that he now resided within the Cloud Village of the Lightning Country. By recommendation, he was adopted into the country and processed into their academy to confirm his abilities before advancing him further, but something wasn't right. Odd occurences began to surface in Takera's health, and some suspected that he might not be cut out for the Ninja World.

Character Name: Averus Ikaru
Age: 18
Height: 6’0
Weight: 180
Appearance: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Clan: Toyotama // Ketsueki
Role: Combat
Affinity: Lightning // _______
Village: Hidden in Cloud
Rank: Genin
History: At a young age, Averus lived in a remote village in the land of Lightning, everyday he spent out and about with his mother as they went either shopping, or having him go to school to learn. This, to him, was nothing more than a front. The person he had to call ‘mother’ was not his actual mother. That person must have been dead, was the conclusion he had come up with early on in his life. Though he knew the father he was with was his real father, for their eyes matched perfectly.

The life he had currently was a repeat of the same planned out routine that his father had made. Eat breakfast, go to school, come home...and spend the rest of the day as a guinea pig for his father. Averus spent most days down in the basement of his home, which was actually far larger than his home above. It stretched out like an ants nest, tunnels and rooms everywhere, most of which were void of any real life outside of actual ants and other bugs. He stayed in a room where medical equipment was about, tables lined with syringes and vials filled with various liquids of many colors. Most days he laid on top of a surgeon's table, as his father either injected the liquids into his blood, or knocked him out with drugs to perform more intense procedures.

This was the life he knew, everyday was the same and he rarely saw a change to it. He had, at first, questioned life about why his own father would do this to their son, where his mother was, why fate put him here on the table. These questions were slowly abandoned, as time passed with every day he had to deal with the experiments inflicted upon him.

The only thing he learned was his father wanted to find a way to find a way to create bloodlines, like the greater clans of this era. For his father, finding a way to create a legacy was the most important thing of his life, and using his own son to do so seemed the right way to do it. Averus spent many nights screaming in pain as his insides were either on fire, feeling like they were frozen, or if a poison burned in his veins. Sometimes he would be strapped down to keep himself from opening fresh wounds that had been sealed, laying motionless as tears would run down his face.

Averus prayed to whomever would listen to release him from this torment, either freeing him from his father...or finally letting him die.

Then the day came, his father was so excited. He had left for several days to obtain a rare artifact from a black market merchant, one he believed would be perfect for his experiments. Those few days he was gone was a blessing for Averus, but he knew it would last. When his father came in with a smile on his face, he shivered at the sight of it. He was strapped down to the table like usual, but this time he wasn’t knocked out with the drugs normally used. His father told him for the artifact to work, he needed to be conscious, and so he was injected with serums that would keep him awake, no matter the pain or shock he would feel. For the first time, Averus struggled harder than ever before. He didn’t know what the artifact was, but something felt off in the room, like the air was heavy with miasma, choking his lungs for air.

His father started the experiment, using tools as he then began removing Averus’s left eye. He screamed, feeling the cold metal dig inside his skull and tear away his sight. He felt the warmth of his own blood pour around his cheek, taste the copper as it rolled onto his mouth. He was afraid, the pain was more than anything else he had felt before. Then he felt something be shoved into the hole where his sight was lost, and felt a scratching noise as it rolled a little around in there, as if being fitted perfectly to size.

Then, there was a flash, and he felt something stab into his head, as if connecting to points of his brain. Each feeling felt like a tac was pressed into his forehead, several of them from how it felt. He didn’t even realize he had been screaming, sound feeling deafened from all the scratching. The next thing he knew, he could see again from his left eye. He tried to breath, air coming to him more easily. He turned his head, and realized he had been sitting up now. He looked around, all the pain having blinded him to whatever he had been doing before.

In the corner of the lab he was in, tables had been crushed and broken syringes were all over the floor, and upon the northern wall was an impact...and there was a lot of blood. Averus looked to where the blood was from, and there hunched against a wall under the impact crater, was his father. The man he called father sat motionless, hunched forward slightly, and Averus could see why, as there was a gaping hole in his chest where his heart was, or at least, used to be.

Averus didn’t scream or yell, as he felt nothing for the corpse that used to be his father. In fact, he felt utter relief, knowning he would not be subjected to the tortures he had endured for so long. He took another look around, and noticed the woman who he had been forced to call mother was also dead, having come in perhaps during whatever happened here.

He soon escaped from the tunnels, and learned soon what the experiment had resulted in. His left eye looked normal, but his pupil was red now instead of green like the other, giving him mitch matched eyes. His skin had changed as well, giving him a ash gray color now. He thought he looked more like a monster than what he was before. Eventually, Shinobi from the Cloud Village arrived, and Averus led them to the laboratory his father had used for so many years. Though they were unsure what had happened, they concluded that whomever had dealt with the man and his assistant must have fled long before Averus was able to free himself.

They took him back to the Village, where he was able to live in a orphanage till he was of age, where he then moved into a small apartment of his own. Eventually, he had been able to attend the Shinobi Academy, wanting to train himself so that he could leave the past behind.

His father did leave a legacy in the end, the eye that had been shoved into his skull. But Averus was intent on making sure that legacy was crushed, and trained to make it his own.

Character Name: Ishikawa Shun
Age: 16
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 164 lbs
Appearance:
User Image
Clan: Inuzuka
Role: Sensory
Affinity: Water // Lightning
Village: Hidden in the Clouds
Rank: Genin
History:
Ishikawa Shun was said to be born in the land of Lightning, abandoned by his parents who were just passing through a small fishing village. The boy would end up being raised by the village elder who taught him a wide variety of various skills he would need to survive in the area surrounding the village. He seemed to quickly taken in everything that was taught to him, getting the basics and mastering them without any trouble at all. Shun was a quick study and even though he was so young he excelled in skills that took most years of practice.

When Shun had turned five he inquired with the elder about his parents, wondering if she knew about them. She seemed rather off-put at the inquiry, but knew he wasn’t an idiot; he was completely different from everyone else in the village and must have came to the conclusion on his own that he wasn’t of them. The elder barely told Shun anything, mostly just telling him that he was abandoned as a baby during a fairly strong thunderstorm. No one was sure where his parents went or why he was abandoned.

This seemed to slowly make Shun feel bitter toward his birth parents, provoking him to pull away from the villagers and the woman who raised him, not wanting to be abandoned again, to live in the forests surrounding the village. Many of the villagers protested the choices he made, trying to get him to stay but all he could do was run from them… he was alone in this world and no one could tell him otherwise.

Over the next three years Shun would pop in and out of the village looking to trade for various items he needed, mostly for new clothes or tools he might need. This typically only met with them providing him what he needed, but never taking what he offered in terms of goods but worked to convince him to use his mastered crafts around the village in exchange. At first Shun took pleasure in helping around the village, fixing things that had been broken for years or developing new ways for the fishers to fish and hunters to hunt, but as time went on a deep seeded resentment began to sprout in his heart toward his family, feeling they were only using his prowess to further their own lives.

Kumogakure shinobi arrived in the village, looking for information about a group of bandits that has been terrorizing other villages in the area. Most of the villagers hadn’t seen anything strange or odd going on in the village, but the elder suggested they speak with Shun due to the fact he lives on the outskirts surrounding their home and might have seen something. One of the shinobi, Kiyoshi Ishikawa, went off into the forests to find him while the rest of his team remained behind to check around the village itself.

Kiyoshi found the remnants of a small camp where the fire was still smouldering and had begun checking around the area for a trail. Instead what he found were rather elaborate, but poorly placed traps surrounding the camp and disabled them one by one before Shun came out and berated the ninja for destroying his ‘security’. Kiyoshi apologized, promising to help him set them back up and to teach him better ways hide them. He began to inquire with the child about anything strange he had seen in the woods or around in the village.

Shun thought about it for a brief moment, remembering the faces of those who were in the village from when he had last been in there and anyone he might’ve seen wandering around the woods. It was then Shun told Kiyoshi about a couple people he thought were strange because they were dressed oddly and always walked what some would think were irregular paths, but they always walked by the same buildings and stood out in front of them for a moment before continuing on. Shun made further note that they always left to the east on a path that had been recently made, he thought it looked well traveled, but never bothered to wander along it himself; he thought it would make him exert himself more than he needed to.

Kiyoshi thanked the boy for the information, telling him he would return once the bandits were taken care of to help him with his ‘security’ and took off back to join up with his group. His team followed the path, making sure to stay hidden as they moved both quickly and quietly through the trees. Eventually they come across their hideout and a fight broke out with some of the bandits fleeing.

Shun had followed after them, trying to keep back just enough distance so that he wouldn’t have been found. When he heard the battle begin, he crept a little closer to watch and was amazed over what he had seen. The elder always told him stories of ninja and the incredible things they could do, but seeing it in person was on a completely different level. While the shinobi continued their battle, one of the bandits that ran circled back in order to try to surprise them but saw Shun watching the battle from his hiding place.

The bandit grabbed the child and held a kunai to his throat, forcing Shun to stop struggling as he was led back to the camp. The man who held Shun called out for the ninja to surrender or the child would die; a look of fear and dread fell across his face - he didn’t want to die, at least not yet. Kiyoshi and his squad turned to them, knowing that this one man was the only one they needed to take care of, but they raised their arms up and offered their surrender.

Shun felt relieved, but he wondered what would happened to the ninja now that they had surrendered let alone himself. He looked over at Kiyoshi and then up at the bandit before taking one last look over at the group of ninja before realizing they wouldn’t get out of there alive. He demanded that Kiyoshi and the others strike his captor down, he didn’t care about what happened to him but he did not want to be responsible for what happened to everyone else.

The ninja only smiled at the boy and before Shun knew it, the bandit had begun to swing the kunai toward his throat. Kiyoshi quickly in a matter of seconds flung the bandit from Shun, placing the child over his shoulder as he broke the hand of the bandit. Shun was in disbelief over what happened, he thought he was dead for sure.

One of the ninja, a female kunoichi, called Yukiko, bound all of the criminals together and started for Shun’s village to restock on a few items. Kiyoshi spoke with Shun about his life, wondering about the child’s parents and why he was living alone instead of with the villagers. When he found out that Shun had no parents and decided to leave the village of his own reservations, the ninja gave the boy an option: come back with him to Kumogakure and be his son, he would adopt him along with Yukiko, who was also his wife - he would give Shun a true family and Shun would give them a child, something they had been trying to have for many years. He also said that he could enroll in the Ninja Academy and train to become a ninja like him.

Shun seemed rather hesitant about accepting his offer, he was always afraid of being abandoned by the villagers which was why he distanced himself from them and now he had a chance to be part of a real family and yet the fear of being abandoned resounded loudly in his head. Kiyoshi told Shun he could think about it and give him his decision when they reached the village.

He began to contemplate the outcome, wondering if it would be the right choice for him to be part of something he did long for even if fear was a strong motivator… he did want to be a ninja after all. The moment they arrived at the village Shun told Kiyoshi and Yukiko he would agree - he would go with them and be their child.

Months later after Shun moved to Kumogakure with Kiyoshi and Yukiko, he told Kiyoshi he wanted him to teach him the fundamentals of ninjutsu before he would enroll in the academy. Kiyoshi agreed and spent time teaching Shun, which the boy retained the information and mastered the basics easily. He focused on a variety of different subjects, but focused where Shun would accel the most: tracking and gather information. Kiyoshi even brought Shun in secretly to watch a several interrogations of criminals, having him learn how to properly interrogate and even torture someone.

A year and a half later Shun would enroll into the Ninja Academy and as time passed, he started to see that he was much smarter than most of his classmates. This made him become much more lazier than normal and began to instill a much more indolent nature in his mind. He started to skip class or would fall asleep in class, barely putting in the effort needed and failed numerous exams. His watched his ‘friends’ graduate around him while he just sat there, not seemingly caring if he finishes or not as he was rather content where he was.

Kiyoshi had known of his son’s new nature, even seeing him become a bit of a recluse and shying away from people who were once his friends. This forced him to show up to one of Shun’s class and berate him, making him promise that he would finally finish his time at the academy and become a shinobi.

Age:22
Height:5’11”
Weight:150
Appearance: User Image
Clan: Aburame
Role:
(Combat, Medic, or Sensory) - Determined by Perks
Affinity: Earth
Village: Lightning
Rank:
Genin
History:
A seemingly emaciated youth that wears taoist robes and bandages to hide his appearance and hidden weapons. Anton is self named from a play on words he came up with while bored. He has no memories of his childhood and only remembers training as a ninja. As a result he acts mostly out of boredom and only has loyalty to the village as the primary source of memories he possesses. When on missions he acts seriously despite speaking sarcastically and has a tendency to not consider his own safety over the completion of his work. Currently Anton is lacking any goals outside of working for the village and surviving until he finds a purpose or person worth his loyalty and future.
